He's been asleep for 2 hours now. He did his usual wake up and cry about half an hour after he fell asleep but he was quickly settled. He's in the bed next to me and although I love cuddling up to him at night I really miss my DH being here. He may as well move into the spare room Sad

Cannotbelieveit · 13/09/2014 22:41

R has been asleep since 8, please please sleep through!!

Cannotbelieveit · 14/09/2014 00:36

Oh well 4 hours and a feed! I just hope he can go til 6-7am wishful thinking tho!

First feed here after about 3.5 hours... I'm knackered

Cannotbelieveit · 14/09/2014 02:53

Less than 3 hours and feeding again Shock

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 04:11

4am and it's his first feed. He's regularly going 7.5-8 hours now before his first wake up so a huge improvement. I wish my body would learn to adapt though as I'm still waking up with rock hard and painful boobs Grin

mrsmugoo · 14/09/2014 04:19

Hi Writer! Just done first feed here too and he's back fast asleep. I heard him wake up about 3:30 but as he was just flapping about happily I left him in the vain hope he might self settle (one if these days he will!)

Decided I'm going to try to tackle the early morning wakings / comfort feed / in with me scenario. Wish me luck!

Cannotbelieveit · 14/09/2014 07:23

Up for the day now!

DS went back to sleep at 04.30 after his feed but was awake again before 06.30. I bought him into bed with he hoping he would sleep but he did nothing but moan, grizzle, gurgle, shriek, roll around, grab my hair and grab my face then moan and cry some more. After an hour of listening to it I've handed him over to DH because I just need a break. I'm too tired to deal with it this morning.

I'm going to try and grab a few more hours but I think I'm just too awake now Sad

mrsmugoo · 14/09/2014 09:15

Yes I think I subconsciously ignored him for about half an hour before finally getting him out of his cot at 7 to get up.
My DH is away so no one to help me out this morning :(
He's down for a nap now - suddenly became totally unmanageable about 9 so put him down to sleep.

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 09:36

Babies are a nightmare at times!!

Mine had a 30 minute sleep whilst with DH but then one of our cats woke him up by trying to climb on him Hmm

I like Sunday mornings though as DH takes DS out for about 3 hours (to watch a football match and then for after-match drinks) so I get a calm morning. My FIL is having him for a few hours this afternoon too do me and DH can have a blitz on the housework because it's just impossible to get it done with DS causing trouble!!

I hope your DH isn't away too long this time missmugoo?

mrsmugoo · 14/09/2014 09:50

He's away for a week :(

I think this is the last work trip he's taking for a while. I'm going with him (with DS obviously) in October on a work trip.

Cariad007 · 14/09/2014 09:55

I've been telling DP to get his parents down to take DS out for a bit so we can do housework but it hasn't happened yet. They'll probably think we are using it as an excuse to have a shag but honestly, the untidy house is bothering me more than the lack of bedroom action atm!

mrsmugoo · 14/09/2014 10:02

Oh gawd, I have a cleaner!

Was going to cancel her when I went on mat leave but honestly just knowing that once a fortnight the house gets a good going over is such a weight off my mind. It's only £22 so worth it!

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 10:13

Me and DH are getting a cleaner, we have been thinking about it for a while but neither of us can be arsed to do the housework anymore. I look around our tip of a house and feel so disheartened by it!

Cariad007 · 14/09/2014 10:51

I've been thinking about it too but will probably hold off til I'm back at work as I definitely won't have time for housework then!

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 10:55

If I get this new job I will only be working 3 days a week (2 days a week for the first 6 weeks) but I would still keep the cleaner because my husband is a messy and lazy man which isn't a good mix Grin The only thing we argue over is his unfair contribution to the housework so for the sake of our marriage the Cleaner will stay Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 18:45

We've had 3 naps today - totalling just under three hours in total so that's not too bad.

He's great at going to bed now I just wish that after he feeds at 4am he would drop off again as opposed to not going back to sleep for 1-2 hours Sad

mrsmugoo · 14/09/2014 19:12

We're just doing 2 naps now - he had an hour and a half this morning and just over an hour this afternoon, waking at about 3:15 so was shattered this evening and had early bath and bed, asleep by 6:50pm.

Cannotbelieveit · 14/09/2014 19:31

1 bloody nap of 25 mins all day!! Just having his last feed now.

OP posts:
Cariad007 · 14/09/2014 19:54

We were out all day today but DS managed two naps in the pram. Should be putting him to bed now but I washed the bedding and hung it out while we were out and when we got back I thought I'd pop them in the
washer/dryer to dry a bit more but the bastard thing decided to soak them again!

Writerwannabe83 · 14/09/2014 20:03

Oh dear cannot - well hopefully it means he will sleep well tonight!!

Cariad - that's happened to me too!! It's a nightmare isn't it!!

I'm giving DS his last feed now and then we shall see what the night has in store Grin

mrsmugoo · 14/09/2014 20:17

Just watching XFactor and then off to bed for me. I can't believe what an early bird I am now - pre baby I would never go to bed before midnight!

Cariad007 · 14/09/2014 20:25

I wish I could be an early bird but attempting an early bedtime means I just stay awake for hours unless I'm extremely tired! DS has started going into his cot at around 8/830pm the last week or so so it means DP and I actually have a couple of hours to ourselves to chat or catch up on Netflix! Not sure if he'll let us do that tonight though as he was pretty cranky and is now feeding but still awake.
