Where have you breastfed?

Quootiepie · 03/09/2006 21:29

Since my "breastfeeding in public" thread, when I was to scared to feed my baby in public, ive now started breastfeeding like mad! Ive notched up 2 boat trips, a few pubs complete with a local football team!, high streets, cafes, a Little Chef , my DHs brothers house, MILs with loads of people there... I would never have done it without your support, so I thought id start a thread where people can say where they've done it to encourage more to do so!

Good for you btw!

Tatties · 03/09/2006 21:37

Great Quootiepie

I've done it on a bus, on a park bench, in a pub... also did some extreme bf in a v. slow moving traffic jam DP was driving, DS was screaming so I slid into the back and leant over the car seat!

Quootiepie · 03/09/2006 21:39

Tatties! I nearly did that tonight...DS was screaming his head off in the car seat, but I concluded it was teething before I was leaning over him dangling away!

Tommy · 03/09/2006 21:52

Well done Quootiepie!
I've done it most normal places - shops, cafes, my sister and I both did it at the same time in a Starbucks once.
Also done it at church

at wedding, funeral and baptism.
shopping centres, airports, gp surgery
buses, trains, planes and cars
pubs & classy and unclassy restaurants
our staffroom
anyone's house i happen to be visiting
parks, beaches, pyo strawberry field
infact, anywhere my dd asks for milk

does it also count that i have expressed milk in a VIP box at St James' Park?

just came back from cyprus, apparently it is not the done thing to bf in public. i was told they don't normally take babies out. turns out that if we sat down in a restaurant or cafe to eat and dd wanted a feed, we would not be served until i stopped. Luckily, no one told me this till day 5 of 7.

Gingerbear · 03/09/2006 21:58

Aeroplane, in church, whilst eating fish and chips on Cleethorpes seafront, and at a swanky cafe at the harbour in Puerto Banus.

FrannyandZooey · 03/09/2006 22:04

Too many places to mention, but my star turn was the Albert Hall

It was a toddler as well, not some discreet little newborn to be tucked under my cardi. The percussionist clocked me halfway through and I swear he missed his cue
