Last night went well, with just 2 wake ups until 4.30 and all that time in cot. Not so hopeful tonight though. She was exhausted by bedtime feed & I feel as though she fell asleep before I had chance to really fill her up!! Plus, I couldn't wind her properly as she was so sound asleep.

So, I'll be going to sleep tonight with everything crossed!

larle I know what you mean, can't believe their half birthdays are here already!

abi2790 · 22/06/2013 02:06

Ugghh ds is awake and I have woken up feeling really unwell. At this time of year I always feel like crap Sad. I'm too sleepy to write anymore so goodnight and I hope you're all sleeping well Smile.

Baby larle been bobbing on and off boob since about 2.30. Hmm Bloody knackered and now he is chatting away to me like its morning, can someone please explain to him that it is not getting up time as he isn't listening to me

lazzaroo · 22/06/2013 11:40

You have my sympathies larle. After second feed at 3am, we were wide awake! Until 4.30am!! Then only slept till 5.30!!

Is feeding quite a bit today too & I'm afraid we may have reached the 6month growth spurt!!

larlemucker · 22/06/2013 11:45

Is there a 6 month growth spurt?

lazzaroo · 22/06/2013 19:50

Apparently so larle!

larlemucker · 22/06/2013 20:00

Oh crap Hmm

lazzaroo · 22/06/2013 21:07

I know!! Finding it hard to tell where one ends & the next begins!! Smile

abi2790 · 22/06/2013 21:15

WIPO for the first time in 29 weeks I didn't have to feed Ds to sleep! I'm so proud of him! He woke up crying so I went upstairs to check he was okay. He was so I lay on the bed next to the cot. He put his head down (he sleeps on his front) and slowly closed his eyes and was fast asleep after 5 minutes. I feel like crying! This is a big milestone for us as he is sleeping well in the night but wakes around 3 times for a feed between 6 and 9. Woooo go Ds!! Grin

abi2790 · 22/06/2013 21:15

What is WIPO? Lol.

First feed here so another good night for us. Ds is almost back to sleep too so hopefully we'll both be back to sleep soon for a good few hours wishful thinking.

Things are definitely improving here too abi (touch wood, cross fingers etc etc!). Tending to feed at 11ish and 3ish, but most importantly staying settled in cot in-between. Woke early again today but was happy to lie in bed with me and sleep/feed till 6am. Lovely Smile. hoping it lasts!!

larlemucker · 23/06/2013 15:31

Baby larle still wakes every 2-3 hours to feed Hmm

abi2790 · 23/06/2013 23:40

Ugghh not such a great night tonight. Ds has been up at 8:30, 9:30 and 11:30. He just won't settle properly in his cot and every time he's woken up he's acting like he's starving. Someone come help me feel better Sad.

Hi abi!!

Baby larles longest sleep so far tonight is 1.5 hours! I feel your pain

Anypants · 24/06/2013 02:53

So. I thought i'd cracked it but by posting here at, oh, 2.44am, can you tell we've had a relapse?
I got two nights of 8-8 last weds and thurs, Fri was 9-5 but Sat she woke at midnight, then 5 am and now tonight went to sleep about 9pm but is up again now. I do the same things every day so how can the nights be soooooo different? I know she can do it now so am more frustrated in case it was only because she had a cold or her jabs. Do I have to keep her ill to get a good night's sleep? Envy

larlemucker · 24/06/2013 03:46

FFS been up nearly all fucking night, is some sleep too much to fucking ask for??? ARGH HmmHmmHmmHmmHmm

larlemucker · 24/06/2013 07:48

So tired

tasmaniandevilchaser · 24/06/2013 11:51

Hi , room for one more? Mini tas is 5 wks old and is perfectly happy to sleep, as long as it's on me. I have a dd, 4 yrs old who was a terrible sleeper, i ordered a good sleeper this time but the order didn't get processed properly. So I end up falling asleep in bed feeding mini tas with him in all kinds of precarious positions on the bf pillow. We have a side cot but he wakes up as soon as I put him in there, so I wait for his deep sleep and then fall asleep myself . The latest SIDS press coverage has stressed me out :( any tips? The usual tips - put a t shirt that smells of you in the cot etc don't seem to work.

Sympathies for all those in sleep deprivation, I know how crap it is

lazzaroo · 24/06/2013 13:19

Sorry larle, I feel your pain. Hope you can somehow have a lazy day today & rest as best as you can.

We had feeds at midnight and 3am again last night. Dare I begin to think a pattern is emerging?!!

Welcome tas! I also foolishly believed this who told me 'you don't get 2 the same' and having a 3year old who slept terribly I thought I was due a break....apparently not so! I feel like I have tried all the tricks in the book...no success really apart from waiting for things to improve in their own time. Sorry! Probably not what you wanted to hear! We have just taken the path of least resistance, tried not to worry about creating problems and concentrated on what gets us all the most sleep!! And this thread has helped Smile

lazzaroo · 24/06/2013 18:56

Seriously why does mil feel the need to ask if baby lazza is sleeping better EVERY time we talk! It's driving me insane & tonight was on Skype and I think I did a particularly bad job of covering up my 'oh, for god's sake' face!

Bedtime feed here. Only had cat naps all day today so am waiting to see what difference that makes tonight. Good luck all!!

larlemucker · 24/06/2013 20:07

Think baby larle is teething, lots if drool today.

He is becoming a mare to feed when DH is in as he keeps stopping to talk and smile at daddy!!

Please god let us have a better night tonight.

Been trying some finger foods as well today, he really enjoyed it. So did the dog!!!

abi2790 · 24/06/2013 22:21

Ds is finally asleep! I think he may be teething. His top gums are looking quite red so I've given calpol. He seems much better now. He had been waking up really upset every time I put him in his cot. I'm hoping for a much better night now he's had some calpol who am I kidding!

OP posts:
lazzaroo · 24/06/2013 22:59

Up for first feed. We're teething too! Also had to give calpol as she was really unsettled but as soon as she had the calpol didn't wake again.

Anypants · 25/06/2013 02:54

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I knew it was a fluke - DD is now back to not going to sleep by 8.30, choosing instead to scream louder and louder.until I start screaming at her. There seemed no end tonight so I had to feed her to sleep - twice - before she would actually stay asleep. DH thought she woke up a few times last night because she was cold so I've.wrapped her up tonight but it'a made b*gger all difference as she's awake at exactly the same time. So, after sleeping from 8 - 8 twice last week, wtf? Also, she us now entirely resistant to being rocked/cuddled to sleep - this now makes her even worse so I literally have run out if options. I am reaching new levels of anger/frustration/sleeplessness and I ate my dinner at 9.40pm, despite putting it on the plate at 6.30pm... yum Envy
