A nice shiny new thread!

Oh god baby larle just knocked his head on the (rounded) corner of the bathroom tiles. There's a little red mark but he seems ok in himself. He'll be ok wont he??

Babybeesmama · 25/04/2013 19:15

He will be fine larle! When babybee fell out of bed, he knocked his head on our bedside table - he has a small bruise behind his ear but its fine & faded fast! Such a worry isnt it! X

abi2790 · 25/04/2013 19:30

As long as he seems okay I would say he's fine +larle*.

I think my little man is feeling really unwell. He's been bringing up most of his feeds and he feels really hot. He's been having his bedtime feed and fell asleep but woke up crying his little heart out. I put him over my shoulder and he was sick. I've given him calpol but don't know what else to do for him :(.

Anypants · 25/04/2013 20:04

Looks like we've all got LOs in the wars - DD had her 8 week injections this afternoon. She was fine afterwards but woke up screaming from her 6pm nap and took a good while to calm down but now she won't be put down. Will give her some calpol when she wakes again but is it going to last all night?? I hope not - first time i've seen her cry tears and the screaming was heart breaking Sad Sad

larlemucker · 25/04/2013 20:10

Thanks abi and amey

Sorry any no advice here as baby larle was fine after both lots of jabs (so far)

On bedtime feed here, then I'm going to have my camomile tea and hope it helps knocks DS out (promise that's not what I was trying to do earlier with the bathroom tiles!)

abi2790 · 25/04/2013 20:20

Good luck tonight larle.

DS is fast asleep now. Should I take him back to the gp even though we went today? He has been really upset today and not himself at all. He's also been really sleepy.

MrsNPattz · 25/04/2013 20:35

Evening ladies.

We have a new challenge tonight - not to pick little man up when he wakes, just to sssshhhh and pat him. The hv at booby group was really helpful again, and said look how far we have come in a week with stopping night feeds so we can do this too!! I am fully prepared for a god awful couple of nights but it has to be done. I can't be rocking him every 2 hours.

Larle that sounds sensible advice, will be interested to see if the no caffeine helps. Your little one will be fine - they are very durable!!

Abi hope things improve!

My nails now have nice sparkly tips - I feel a bit more glamorous now.

Ooooh, get you MrsN! Wink If all else fails, you'll have something nice to admire while you're shh/patting!

lazzaroo · 25/04/2013 21:56

Have been watching this thread with interest and decided tonight's the night to join in! Yet again I have been woken by my DD2 approx 5 mins after falling asleep myself....how does she know! She's 4 months and terrible at night. She only sleeps well in her cot for first part of the night (which seems to be getting shorter not longer!), then ends up in our bed but as the night goes on she gets more & more restless. And occassionally dd1 also turs up in the middle of the night!

My guess is she's disturbed by wind. I lose track of feeds after about 1am. Then she's rarely hungry first thing! She's just had first feed after feed before bed (6.30pm) but didn't feed for long & I can't get a burp out of het so I'll be back soon!

How old are your lo's? I'm desperate for this to get better but don't know how to make it happen!

Babybeesmama · 25/04/2013 22:07

Oh no any! I'd just give another dose when LO wakes if its 4 hours after, I think its cos their legs hurt!

Abi - if you're worried I would take LO back to gp, even if just to put your mind at rest. Have u given both calpol and ibuprofen? I give both if they are v poorly, you can alternate.

Welcome lazza! My DS is 7 months & a crap sleeper! I also have a DD who's 3 who was always a good sleeper so its come as a bit of a shock!

Babybee's woken screaming once already, nothing helped so gave nurofen as I'm sure its teeth... Though it could be wind/tummy ache?!? Does anyone use gripe water? I didn't realise you can put it in the bottle when you make it up. I'm half tempted to try.... But maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree.

See you all in the wee hours I'm sure! X

Babybeesmama · 25/04/2013 22:08

And good luck for ssh pat mrsn! It amazed me how it worked for naps for us so quick. X

larlemucker · 25/04/2013 22:21

Welcome lazza, DS is also 4 months and has just woken as I was dropping off. They have some sort of 6th sense!
Hoping the tea will help, so tired. We have swimming tomorrow so I think when we get back we're both going to bed!

abi2790 · 25/04/2013 22:47

welcome lazza. my boy is 4 months too Smile

Ds has just woke up (just as I fell asleep). He was whimpering in pain and was really windy and sicky. Thanks babybees I didn't know that. Do you give every 4 hours with two hour gap iygwim?

Babybeesmama · 26/04/2013 00:53

Yeah ibuprofen is every 6 hours so I'd say leave 2 hours after giving calpol then give it if LO still in pain. If he's very sicky at mo hold off with ibuprofen if you can as its harder on their tummies than paracetamol. I just find especially for teething pain calpol just isn't as effective. Its so horrible when they are poorly!

First bottle here & attempting transfer.... Xx

GiraffesAndButterflies · 26/04/2013 00:55

Hi ladies. I've been lurking the last few nights as they are turning into screaming battles here. Something about my left breast at night is freaking DD out - blocked ducts now cleared (and thank you all for the advice and support, it took bloody ages and I used every tip!) - blocked ducts now cleared but she is red faced screaming as soon as I get close to putting her to my left breast and the latch is excruciating. Went to clinic today and she latched and fed fine, I felt a bloody idiot it seems to just happen at night. So until she/I/DH figure out what to change, screaming (her) and crying (me) seems to be the way forward. Hmm

larle major sympathy with having to give up caffeine. I recommend setting an alarm in case your LO unexpectedly sleeps too long and you end up like me!!!

Sounds like everyone is having a shit time at the moment, decaf Brew and non-chocolate Biscuit all round. :(

lazzaroo · 26/04/2013 01:27

Back for second feed. And as if she read my last post & wanted to prove ne wrong....she's been asleep in her cot nice 10! I'm sure we won't have as much luck this time. I put her down on her side, apparently it can help with wind, so maybe that helped?! Although it's more likely yo be a random occurrence. They're such little mysteries!

My dd1 ( also 3) was not a good sleeper so I was hoping we'd be due a good one. It's lucky she's so bloomin' lovely in the day., nice to know you ave lo's of similar ages to compare notes!

Interested to see tips on camomile tea & chocolate. I'd love to know if it helps. I often wonder about caffiene but love my chocolate so much!

Right, I think little one has filled herself up again. Fings crossed.....good luck for good nights everyone!

Anypants · 26/04/2013 01:44

Ow - DD is still asleep but have woken up with am ENORMOUS right boob! Am waiting for the microwave so I can express.... Ow! So much for sleeping through Sad

abi2790 · 26/04/2013 02:39

Second feed here. Ds looks shattered... Why can't they just stay asleep when they're tired?!

larlemucker · 26/04/2013 02:57

Wow baby larle has gone 4 hours between feeds! Yay!!! Dunno if its the tea or a fluke but atm I don't care!!

Emilythornesbff · 26/04/2013 03:32

Hello. 2nd feed here. Babythorne last fed around 11 so not bad.
I feel better for that sleep but now here comes the rough part of the night.

larle 4 hours is great. Well done. And thanks for sharing the lac cons advice. We have a shocking evening routine. Babythorne has a bath and pjs with toddlerthorne but then she's wide awake so after toddlerthorne goes to bed she's in the sling while I do chores.
I have a 2.5 yo ds (wildly shocking sleeper until 2) and babythorne is 3 months. Ds is super in the day too. Grin.

lazzaro babythorne is similar to your DS in that she often settles initially in her cot but then it goes pear shaped father the first night feed and I too totally lose track in the night of what's happened.

Good lunck mrsn with your shhh-patting. Your nails sound great btw.

Sounds like you're having a tough night giraffes Brew (decaf).

And I hope any and abi are now sleeping.

Bastard birds are up already, and as for giving up caffeine (again). Ggrrrr. Smile. I'll give that a go.

lazzaroo · 26/04/2013 04:02

Off to the shops for camomile tea tomorrow then! :-) feeding again now. Which I'd be quite happy with but she's been unsettled since 1am feed and we've rocked her back to sleep about 3 times. Hoping this feed sees her through till morning!

Emilythornesbff · 26/04/2013 04:07

Too scared to attempt transfer.
Oh goodness this time is tough. Ds will be up at 6.

Emilythornesbff · 26/04/2013 04:10

See, I knew she wouldn't settle.
Sad

Emilythornesbff · 26/04/2013 04:12

So I pick dd up and she's immediately asleep in my arms.
She's so beautiful but I could cry with tiredness.

MrsNPattz · 26/04/2013 04:15

Second time up here, first at 12 and was settled within half an hour with shhh patting, then we got 3 hours! Been up 45 mins this time but I think that's him now, still shhhhing until I think it's safe.

Welcome Lazza, my little man is 7 months!

Hope everyone's nights improve xx
