Just submitted my application to be a WW leader - aaaaahhhhhh lol

MrsNPattz · 19/03/2013 16:55

Thanks for your replies Thanks

BrainGoneAwol · 19/03/2013 18:18

larle if it is any consolation, babybrain's sleep didn't get worse at 4 months, but that might have been because it was so shocking already!

amey I've just ordered ncss to see if I can glean anything useful. I'll let people know any insights... Have other people read it? What did you think?

Babybeesmama · 19/03/2013 18:29

I have it brain, there are some useful bits I think and its quite gentle. I must re read some bits I never seem to have time! X
Grin Mrsn that's great! X

funchum8am · 19/03/2013 19:04

Hi everyone like all of you we have been having mixed nights here Smile but still better than before.

mrsn ww is fab and you'll make a great leader - good luck and can you lead me towards size 14 please Grin

babyfunch is growing up fast and I love this stage (24 weeks). No teeth yet but dribbling and chewing since about 4 months.

She went into her own room at 3months as we were desperate for some sleep. Her sleep did not change but I could sleep much better between wakings after that.

I read ncss and I love the gentle approach, but it didn't work for us sadly. it helped me identify our problem (feeding to sleep and inability to self settle) but her solution, the Big Pantley Pull-off just didn't work unfortunately, so we ended up reading Dr Ferber and doing cc. this sorted the self settling but not the issue of being ready for up at 3am Sad. but we now seem to be slowly improving. fc!

Spreading lots of top grade sleepy dust!

larlemucker · 19/03/2013 19:38

I've read ncss and its good although my terrible baby brain can't remember any specifics!

Lost 2lb at WW, woo hoo!! Feel bad that my friend that goes with me only lost 0.5lb but she hasn't been eating her daily points.

Looking forward to my curry for tea!!

Sleepy dust to everyone

MrsNPattz · 19/03/2013 20:24

Yey well done Larle! Enjoy your curry Smile

This bedtime live is so interesting - poor Zoe! Interested to see how they get on with the little girl self settling!

abi2790 · 19/03/2013 20:36

Ds is boob mad tonight! I posted earlier today about him not feeding for very long but now he won't come off! I know he's only doing it for comfort too cos he's not swallowing.

abi2790 · 19/03/2013 20:42

Scratch that.. he must have been eating something cos he just puked all over me! Yuck!

StitchAteMySleep · 19/03/2013 21:01

I survived, just.

We have had a heck of a week. I have been extremely ill, unable to lift Stitch at points and bed bound. Stitch and dd1 both have had a milder version, but the nights have been horrific. Coughing endlessly, one waking just as the other one goes to sleep or both awake crying at the same time. My mum only left today, bless her, as I was not fit to look after them.

Haven't caught up fully. Sorry to see so many having bad nights.

Welcome abi

Well done MrsN for sending off your form, you will be fab!

Love the poem, thanks Goat

Heff dd1 was in our room until she was 1, but dd2 went into her room at 5 months and loves being in with her big sister.

funchum8am · 19/03/2013 21:41

Goodness stitch that sounds horrific! was it flu?? Awful. Well done for coming out the other side Sad

Parke 2lb is excellent, well done.

I have finished the marking I planned for tonight (this never normally happens.). Feeling pleased with self but annoyed that the only reason I have done it is cos I have so much marking this week the slightest deviation from the schedule will mean disaster! When we are all on here moaning about schools instead of sleep, go easy on the poor teachers who take ages to give work back, eh?!Grin

funchum8am · 19/03/2013 21:41

larle, Parke is you...Angry at phone

Susieloo · 20/03/2013 01:16

stitch that sounds horrendous

We are awake for the second or third time tonight, not hungry just awake, if I put him back in his cot he flips on to his tummy and then gets stuck, it's beyond frustrating, no idea why he is waking so much, hope its not a sleep regression, we haven't got over the last one yet apart from that blissful couple of weeks when it all went right.

Smallgreenone · 20/03/2013 01:29

Oh stitch that sounds terrible. Poor you.
We're having a bad night again......
Any tips you can share amey?! Our Hv are all useless as far as ican tell. The one today got me really upset and stressed about his eating. He still won't eat. Apparently he should be. What cn I do? I offer lovely tempting things but all are refused, even finger foods are rejected unless toast or broccoli. I can't force him to eat. And I thought food at this age was just experimentation as all calories come from milk until 1? Will pop over to weaning board and see if any tips on there.
Sleepy dust to all

MrsNPattz · 20/03/2013 02:36

First feed, he's skipped the early one so praying this is the only one wishful thinking

Oh Stitch you poor thing! Hope you are feeling much better, and welcome back Thanks

MrsNPattz · 20/03/2013 03:42

Still up here, over an hour Hmm think that's him asleep now though so will be attempting transfer soon!

abi2790 · 20/03/2013 03:44

That sounds horrible stitch. Glad you're feeling much better Smile

Ds slept for about 6 hours Grin he woke up about 12 and had a little wriggle but then went back to sleep until around 3. I hope this is a permanent change!

larlemucker · 20/03/2013 04:14

stitch what an awful week, glad you are all feeling better and have emerged out the other side!

abi congrats on the 6 hours! Fingers crossed its not just a phase.

We're up for second feed tonight, first feed was literally minutes after I had turned light off and was falling asleep. How do they do that? How do they know you're dropping off?

Dentist today, need two fillings but either have to have them with no anaesthetic or wait till I've stopped bf. why us it everytime I go I need a bloody filling? You'd think I didn't look after my teeth!

abi2790 · 20/03/2013 04:37

Over an hour it took DS to go to sleep! Hopefully that means I'll get a lie in if he's had a really good feed. I doubt it!

We're going swimming tomorrow :) He loves it!

Susieloo · 20/03/2013 05:21

I am not getting up for the day like we did yesterday-I refuse!!

I've got the dentist today too larle, lovely filling at 9.30.

Really fed up know of waking up 4-5 times a night, dp offered to do night feeds/wakings tomorrow and Thursday night but he's got stuff on after work both days and I don't think it's fair in him when he's been at work all day.

Bb back in his cot but I've a horrible feeling this is us for the day-really hope not!

GoatBongosAnonymous · 20/03/2013 05:48

susie I feel your pain. Kid is currently. Lying beside me on the bed chatting happily. Having been awake most of the night. Confused

stitch that sounds awful. So hope you are on the mend, along with your DDs.

I. Am. Tired.

BrainGoneAwol · 20/03/2013 05:51

small that sounds like your hv is completely unfamiliar with blw. The whole point is that it's exactly as you said. If it helps, we started babybrain on blw at 24 weeks and I'd say it was only at 28 weeks that he got the idea of truly trying to eat. Some days he still refuses to eat almost any of it if I've got the timing between milk feeds slightly wrong or he's uncomfortable or the overhead light is on (yes really - he just leans back and stares upwards!) I know other people who've done blw and their children were the same but now eat really well.

mrsn hope you got more sleep.

larle and susie hope the dentist trips go well. I haven't plucked up courage to go since I was pregnant. Really must.

abi that's great! Well done to your ds.

Thought I was in for a truly horrendous night as babybrain needed settling every 45 mins or less up to 11pm. Fed him 12-1 and put a radio in his room on static in vain hope... He slept til 5.15! Trying for a bit more sleep now.

I know that when they are little the rule is that more sleep in the day means more sleep at night, but does anyone know when that changes? He napped loads in the day so I'm wondering if that was the problem.

Smallgreenone · 20/03/2013 07:11

Thanks brain it does help. I wonder if his tummy does hurt though as he's taken 3oz of his milk this morning and cries when I try to feed him. Will ring Hv again later but don't hold out much hope as I do think they are all a bit useless.

Babybeesmama · 20/03/2013 07:39

Small have you tried him with any Ella's kitchen? Babybee loves that, or try sitting eating something yourself & see if he wants it just had my crumpet stolen!

HV didn't have any particularly new advice but she reassured me that some babies are just very wakeful (mainly boys in her opinion!) & that we need to cc at night & eventually he will sleep longer. She also said nap wise he should be doing 1-1.5 hour in morning then 2 hours after lunch and then no more naps & no sleep after 3pm If 7pm is bedtime. Until we can fully extend the post lunch nap there's no way we can ditch the tea time nap at mo & he would just fall asleep in car/pram when I pick DD up from nursery at 5 anyway.

HV said weaning wise she agreed with a mixture of BLW and traditional. Have you got any BLW advisors in your area? Xx

BrainGoneAwol · 20/03/2013 08:46

How is it they can drool so much with turning into something to a raisin?
