Is a jumparoo one of those things you put in the door frame? Bit like two bungees and they bounce in it?

ChilliBanana · 21/02/2013 21:06

goat, marbles and susie baby chilli is on the same sleep schedule and I go back to work in just over a week! I've given up trying to feed him more often during the day because a) it didn't seem to make any discernable difference and b) for the first month he'll be spending 3 days a week with DH then the next month 3 days with the childminder, and unless he suddenly decides neocate is the tastiest drink in the world, I can't express enough to keep him satisfied for the 9hours he'll be away from me. I can't use my freezer stash because I was still drinking milk then and it will upset baby chili's stomach. So I'm imagining the frequent night feeds will continue for.some time yet Sad
We're also in the same boat re the frustration with his inability to crawl - he keeps going onto his stomach and then getting cross that he can't do anything further. We picked up a 2nd hand door bouncer for a fiver and he loves this though.

Bad naps today (I blame DH as he's home and interfering Smile) led to one very overtired baby at bedtime but I'm naively hoping he might sleep for a bit longer tonight. I'll take a bucket of your sleepy dust larle, and definitely some of the wine!

ChilliBanana · 21/02/2013 21:11

jumperoo They are good but a bit expensive...

EeyoresGloomyPlace · 21/02/2013 21:11

This is a Jumperoo

Ah mrsn that sounds like a lovely pic!

larle have you had him a long time? Our collie passed away last year, she was fantastic, a bit bonkers like most collies but really loving and we had her from a pup so miss her a lot now.

MissingMyMarbles · 21/02/2013 21:45

Have been up the stairs every hour since bed time tonightHmm then up to settle ten minutes later each time. Hoping this isn't setting the pace of the night...... Or maybe she's clustering in order to get a full night's sleepWink

Susieloo · 21/02/2013 22:14

3rd wake up but easy settles but on first feed now already, not sure why he is waking-bad dreams, his cold maybe? Really hoping this is not how our night is going to go.....

MissingMyMarbles · 21/02/2013 22:16

Susie our babies are such a bad influence in each other!!!

funchum8am · 21/02/2013 22:20

Hi all, sorry to hear about frustrated little babies wanting to crawl...hopefully it won't be long and the energy burned will lead to amazing sleep when it does happen Smile

DH had a great night on his own with babyfunch last night - woke her at midnight with a bottle ready to pre empt usual 12:30 waking, then she woke for calpol, bonjela and bottle at 3:20. Straight back to sleep both times and went 3:45-6:15 without waking and then 6:30-7:10!!! So I am thinking she is waking less because not getting bf, but then I guess she didn't actually know she wasn't going to get bf did she? Doh.

Anyway I had a lovely night with my friend and was glad I went as her DH is away and her 2 year old was violently sick everywhere so I was able to be useful. Didn't get as much sleep as I hoped as I forgot my pump so had to get up and hand express, but otherwise it was lovely. Still here tonight and off to bed soon to get some proper sleep before I have to hand express again.

I hope everyone has lovely quiet nights free from dogs barking, babies crying, DHs snoring etc!

MrsNPattz · 22/02/2013 00:25

First feed here - super early for us! I think he has a cold as his nose sounds so bunged up and he's coughing a lot. I was in such a deep sleep - I feel like a zombie!

Ameybee · 22/02/2013 01:02

Think we are in for a very bad one :( he is not happy at all poor sausage. Keeps screaming intermittently between nodding off. Not interested in milk at all. Just given calpol & bonjela. Really hoping he settles a bit. Can only assume is tooth 2 or tooth 1 coming through more (as only part through the gum). He's been a bit sicky for a week, just bringing bits of milk back here n there, did any one else find this when LO was teething? He's not normally sicky at all.

So tired Hmm giving the calpol 15 mins to kick in then attempting transfer, my next bet is some nurofen to add to the mix but he did some dramatic gagging with the calpol so I'm not convinced it will be easy!

Help! X

Susieloo · 22/02/2013 01:21

amey that sounds like hard work, teething is horrible, babyloo gets like you describe when it's too hot usually, don't remember him like it when teething but he was very unsettled.

marbles-agreed!!!!

We are obvs up again, gutted - off to mils tomorrow with dss so at least will get out of the house for a bit-dp offering to do night feeds tomorrow but I feel guilty when he has work on Saturday particularly if we have a repeat of tonight - might change my mind later when I spy the gin!!!!

Hello fun glad you had a good time.

to everyone else and hope you are all sleeping peacefully

larlemucker · 22/02/2013 01:47

First feed here, same as you amey such a deep sleep feel like a zombie.
heff the fluffy one was my mums, when she passed away we took him as we were worried a rescue wouldn't because of his biting. We were in rented acc at the time so had to persuade them to let us keep him. So glad we did as he got me through the first few months without mum. I was off work with labyrinthitis just after her funeral and then got made redundant so his fluffy cuddles were about the only thing that kept me going for a while.
Sounds as if we're all up for early feeds tonight, fingers crossed transfer works cos I'm knackered

larlemucker · 22/02/2013 02:20

Epic transfer fail, don't know what I'm doing wrong as he never transfers. Think I'm losing the plot now HmmConfused

StitchAteMySleep · 22/02/2013 02:40

Hello all,

Sorry to hear of ill, teething and frustrated babies.

Stitch and dd1 have yet another cold. Stitch is still teething with no sign of a new tooth yet.

Both of mine have slept poorly once they learnt to crawl. Dd1 used to wake herself up by crawling up the cot in her sleep and banging her head. I am hoping Stitch learning to walk will tire her out as crawling and cruising have not made her wake less.

Right transfer attempt two, see you all later :)

Ameybee · 22/02/2013 03:13

Well, calpol bought me 2 hours sleep - he's having some milk now, hoping I can get some more sleep after this! Jeez I forgot how rough teething can be tho! Only 19 more teeth to go Confused!

Next lot of calpol due at 5am, wonder if he will go till then?!?

Gro egg blue again! We went to a farm yesterday and it was absolutely perishing! When we got in car our hands were killing! Took ages to warm up! Think we are going to get more snow this weekend - boo! Xx

ChilliBanana · 22/02/2013 04:23

Wow, it's a miracle - I've had 3 hours in between feeds! Grin It's amazing how much better it feels getting up with that extra hour. Not holding out any hope it will continue tomorrow, just enjoying it now.

Gro egg blue here as well, poor baby chilli
had such cold hands when I picked him up

larle I'm sure it's nothing you are doing wrong, maybe just that he can't smell you anymore and he would rather sleep on you! It's horrible though, so disheartening.

Sorry to hear of bad nights, hope you all get some predawn sleep.

Smallgreenone · 22/02/2013 04:52

We're back! Just had to change baby small and he is now wide awake and playing with his dummy whilst chatting. Really really hoping this is not up time. Sorry not caught up on thread at all but hello all!

larlemucker · 22/02/2013 05:06

Been up since 12.50, really had enough of this now HmmHmm

MrsNPattz · 22/02/2013 06:49

Second feed or up time here! Want more sleep!

We are off to my uncles today and then meeting my mums friend later on this afternoon.

Amey hope poor little one settled for you! I'm still waiting for little mans tooth. It's so hard to tell if it's teething or not when there is nothing to see!

Hi Small - sorry you are back but good to see you!

MrsNPattz · 22/02/2013 06:50

Larle that's tough - I hope you are now sleeping soundly!

GoatBongosAnonymous · 22/02/2013 08:00

Hello again small ! Smile
larle that's horrendous you have my every sympathy.
amey 19 more teeth?! That reminds me of another thread where someone was counting the number of nights they'd done feeds. Mine is 219 Shock Don't think I like that number!
chilli hooray for 3 hours... Now tell baby chilli to make it 4.
Our night was better. Had to settle him a couple of times early night, but first feed 1:17, then up every hour to resettle. But at least I got back to bed in between.
stitch Kid used to do that hurtling up the cot and banging his head when he was first mobile. Safety experts would be shocked and horrified because I ended up putting a phalanx of toys at the head to cushion the blow! He aes to have stopped now though. More inclined to turn sideways and get stuck as he is now longer than the cot is wide.
So a silly question. What constitutes a transfer fail for everybody? Does it require sound effects or just energetic thrashing round the cot? What makes you get them up again and when do you leave them/try to comfort in the cot?

MissingMyMarbles · 22/02/2013 08:02

Continued to be up hourly throughout evening and into night. At 1, I couldn't face the thought of being up and cold anymore so co-slept since then. Slightly more comfortable, except cold where exposed and stiff from same position all night. Better sleep but she still fed several times before up at 7, and I thought she'd breastfed better during day yesterday too. She sounds very s ugly and has a bit if a cough this morning so maybe that's it, although she seems happy enough now

MissingMyMarbles · 22/02/2013 08:21

'Snuffly' not 's ugly' Hmm

larlemucker · 22/02/2013 08:21

goat every transfer at the moment is a fail. Normally within minutes of me getting back into bed and shutting my eyes he starts thrashing around and sucking his hands, if I leave him he starts crying. Only ever managed to have him settle in the cot twice. However if I didn't put him in the cot and let him sleep on me he'd probably sleep through

funchum8am · 22/02/2013 11:49

larle I used to be up from that kind of time til about 5 regularly. It is horrendous and you have all my sympathy. if it helps to know that babyfunch does now settle in her cot then there it is. We found it got a bit better after 3 months and much better when we stopped going to her straight away and started waiting 5 mins, which we did from 4 months. Til that age I guess it is best to keep going straight in as they are so very little Sad. Thinking of you.
goat transfer fail for me is crying. A noisy but happy baby in her cot is fine by me (very rare this happens though!). I only get her out of the cot at night if I think she is in pain, needs a feed, or has a dirty nappy. All other crying gets some shhing and Ewan put on and then I go out for 5 mins; usually she goes back to sleep after that. If not I generally assume pain, based on type of cry, and administer calpol and/or bonjela. She has not failed to respond and stayed awake for multiple transfer attempts since she turned 4 months, so we must be making progress!

Apparently DH had another decent night with only 3 wakings and 2 feeds so hopefully recent issues were to do with teething and have passed, however temporarily.
