A brand spanking new thread for midnight ramblings, chocolate covered pretzels and so much more Grin

OP posts:
MummyV18 · 14/11/2012 20:17

I'm back up with baby j again. I must read more into this 45 min intruder see if there is a way to break the habit.

Hope all of you that have had baby jabs today are ok and your LO's are ok tonight. I found the 1st jab the hardest. The others events nice of course but I felt easier knowing what would happen/how baby J reacted. Awful things but better than a sick baby

(Sorry not to name check, I find it difficult to remember who said what on my phone Blush)

Ameybee · 14/11/2012 20:37

Mrs n - baby bee had his first jabs today! I made DH do all of DD's so he's made me do these! I almost cried! We gave calpol straight after and jeez it was obvious when it wore off! He was not happy bless him :( I fear we may need more during night! He has been asleep since 720 which scares me as he doesn't normally settle till 10! I'm off to bed shortly! I'm tired and emotional tonight! Just sobbed at hollyoaks! X hope everyone gets sleep tonight!! X

MrsNPattz · 14/11/2012 21:54

Drama already - a very big vomit meaning he had to change, I had to change and hubby had to come home as little man screamed every time I put him down so I couldn't clean it up! Not himself for the last couple if hours but now had a good feed and seems to be falling asleep but I am bracing myself for a very unsettled night.

Oh he just woke up!

amey hope your little will be ok for you tonight, hubby held little man while he had them. We have Calpol ready if need be.

vicky how is Ewan now? Our music leg has broken too Sad

Smicha hope you enjoy the course, mine starts in Jan.

NervousAt20 · 14/11/2012 22:15

My DD had been feeding in and off since 7, she's messing around with the boob but if I keep her off it for longer then a few minutes she's crying again Sad I'm shattered tonight too but think its goin to be a long one

Why can't men bf??

NervousAt20 · 14/11/2012 22:15

Hope everyone else has good nights

MummyV18 · 14/11/2012 22:34

My last post was supposed to say the other jabs were not nice Confused

nervous, npattz sorry to hear you are having terrible starts to the night Sad I hope all has settled down now

Baby J has woken up so am sat here feeding, I'm hoping after this feed he sleeps til 2am

funchum8am · 14/11/2012 23:04

evil I am so so glad to hear you had a better day. Clearly the karma you earned in coping with last night came along to save your sanity!

I hope the babies who have had jabs feel ok, or at least react by sleeping off any ill effects quietly!

Went to bed at half 8 in the end, now up feeding. She is feeding well for her so may get a decent stretch now (except now I have jinxed it!)

Took babyfunch to meet the childminder who will have her when I have my kit days and she is wonderful. She was recommended by a friend and I have met her once before and am very happy with her so far. She reassured me that even if DD hasn't taken a bottle, she can still have her. She used to be a paediatric nurse and says she has experience of feeding babies on the wards and is confident that she will be able to get her to take a bottle. If that is true I will be thrilled, especially if DD will then take a bottle from anyone else too. Could save my sleep if dh can do some feeding! So I am feeling much better about my kit days, and having had even a couple of hours' sleep already I feel better. I will be going to bed whdn baby

funchum8am · 14/11/2012 23:06

...when babyfunch does more often!

Off to google 30 minute intruder!

missingmymarbles · 14/11/2012 23:20

Ok. Post has just been chewed.
Last night was a fluke. I've just been up to feed her. She went sparko in my arms and so I laid her down. Ping eyes open and dancing. I tried two more times. She outsang Ewan!!! I am now listening to her over the monitor; it's hilarious but I think I am in for a really crap night Confused

Susieloo · 14/11/2012 23:37

1st feed of the night and I have slept from half seven so feel better already, hope the two jab babies are doing ok, it is horrible and I will admit I was very relieved to get the third set out of the way.

smicha my dad is great with babyloo too, they have had him this morning for me while I went for lunch with some colleagues so technically work (I will be putting it in as kit hours!) and my dad sings him to sleep Smile

Hope your night has got better minipop

See you around three if I'm lucky, attempting transfer .......

MummyV18 · 14/11/2012 23:49

Hmmm.... And we're up again Sad hope this isn't how the night is going to go

MummyV18 · 15/11/2012 00:47

And up again. Only 20 mins after I put him down.

Can anyone tell me, do you get paid for KIT days on top of SMP?

Goatbongosanonymous · 15/11/2012 01:14

So lots of jabs today. We had the last lot today too. Kid obviously hated these ones the most, and really cried this evening Sad .We gave him calpol, he conked out and only has woken to feed twice. Last time he slept practically 24 hours straight so may happen again. A plus to the jabs for us! hope all other babies are dealing with the after effects with equanimity.

amey maybe LO is sleeping off jabs too?

minipop hope your night is better. evil sounds like a much better day, may the night match it!

Good news on the childminder, funch that's always a load off one's mind. I have to start looking into one.

smicha you definitely need to keep your dad behind the bedroom door! Grin

susie good that your kit day went well. Of course lunch counts! Very important!

nervous hope things are settling for you.

vicky sounds like you have a great baby group!

marbles I hope your DD is feeling better. And that you can enjoy a little time together tomorrow despite the lurgy!

mrsn great that you could make massage today. Unfortunately the jabs meant we had to miss this week - and it was colic week too!

We haven't had any food porn on the thread for a while! DH bought me a big box of Thornton's mint chocolate. All the better because he hates the stuff - he thinks it tastes like toothpaste wrapped in choc! Grin

Smallgreenone · 15/11/2012 02:00

Glad your day was better evil
mrsn jabs are awful aren't they, baby small has the second lot next week and I'm dreading them.
First feed of the night here since 7 Grin!!! Wonder if he can do another 6 hour stretch for me?! I bet he can't but I've had some pretty good sleep as came up at 9.30. Shame he can't do his big stretch from 11 to 7 but then suppose at least he has a big stretch!

funchum8am · 15/11/2012 02:02

Babyfunch just went for 3 hours, so I am very pleased!

Good point about food, goat - I have just checked the pretzel stash and am still on packet 1 of 3. They were pricy so I have made them last....mainly as I can't stuff them in easily while feeding!

Yes I am fairly sure kit says are on top of smp mummyv

Stay sleeping, babies!

Goatbongosanonymous · 15/11/2012 02:08

Well so much for 24 hours of sleep Hmm Just had the Fountain of Pukiness all over the bed. Exactly in the spot where I sleep. And lots of grunting and writhing. Surely he needs sleep!!!

MummyV18 · 15/11/2012 02:23

Awake again Sad well I say awake again but when I put him down last he woke up after 5 mins whimpering & sort of crying and I've been trying to leave him in the hope that he would go to sleep as he wasn't properly crying but no. So I have given in & got up again Sad

Anyway has anyone got any plans for tomorrow?

NervousAt20 · 15/11/2012 02:25

First feed of the night here thought we might go longer because of all the cluster feeding but doesn't seem like it. Hope we have a quick settle back down

funchum8am · 15/11/2012 02:38

Babyfunch has just fed for over 30 mins which is a record for recent weeks - surely she will now sleep for another good stretch?!
goat you poor thing...hope you have spare towels to sleep on!
mummyv I have my 6 week gp check up first thing tomorrow, then a choice of buggy fit class if signed off ok, or local NCT branch coffee morning. Am most likely going to the NCT thing and will start buggyfit on Tuesday instead (nervous re exercise...lazy plus slight bladder issues since giving birth - anyone else have this?)

MummyV18 · 15/11/2012 02:55

How can his sleep change so much???? I thought we'd moved on from the hourly wake ups as we've had a good week with 3 hr stretches between each feed but tonight everytime I put him down asleep (and make it all the way back to my bed and laid down) he then wakes up again Sad

Buggy fit sounds good Smile I've been looking for something like that in my area but all I can find is buggy walks. I need to do something to get rid of this weight (she says munching choc digestives)

I still have a week bladder Sad its not too bad but hard coughing/laughing & some exercise make it very difficult to keep control.

Goatbongosanonymous · 15/11/2012 02:59

funch Kid might not sleep in his cot, but at least I have found a use for the cot sheets! Grin

In desperation at 2 o'clock I called DH from his exile in the spare room. He uncomplainingly got up and has helped settled Kid, give him some calpol (poor thing obviously in pain) and get a little bit of a feed down him. Kid now quiet on me. Long may this last. Especially nice of DH as he was off yesterday with tummy bug and still not feeling great.

Just had a caramel Fox's amber biscuit. A bit too sweet even for me. I am now thinking of the lovely loaf of sourdough bread a friend brought yesterday, but I think a quiet Kid is worth ten loaves, really!

Evilwater · 15/11/2012 03:01

Thanks for all the mentions, ad I hope the jabs babies sleep well. We have them on Monday I think.
Third feed of the evening, and the first for me. Grin baby evil grizzled at 1, but I thought the wind was at the bottom end, an hour later and he is crying loudly. This poor kid has got the north wind inside him. dP was sleeping in the spare room but has moved back into our room, as the wall are a bit thicker.

In now waiting for baby evil to go to sleep.
Evil

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 15/11/2012 03:34

Second feed of the night for us. DS's cold is making him very snuffly. Still seems to be feeding well though so not too concerned.

Hope those who've had jabs are ok.

MummyV18 · 15/11/2012 04:01

Oh npattz Ewan seems to be working fine again. I changed the batteries tonight and so far so good.
It was just odd how it was working.

Ameybee · 15/11/2012 04:04

We got a 4 hour - amazing' but since been up every hour :(. He seems ok tho, just feeds n falls asleep after 5 mins!
We have got MIL coming Tomo, she does a bit of cleaning n let's me nap - I like Thursdays! Then DD doing extra nursery session in pm, I hope she doesn't cry going, makes me feel so guilty.
Goat - hope kid is ok bless.
Hope everyone gets some sleep & hope baby j settles for you vicky
Xxx
