Hi all, well I had a mini meltdown earlier. Baby small was so overtired at bedtime he just screamed and wouldn't feed and after the screaming fell asleep. I felt like such a terrible mother that I'd let him get to that state but he just would not sleep today no matter what I tried not in pram, not on me which normally works. Anyway I cried and DH let me go to bed and he would look after baby small with expressed milk as I was fully expecting multiple wakings. So.........baby small got up at 11 and now!!!!! So best night for ages when I thought it would be the worst!
Releasing some more sleepy mice for all.

funchum8am · 28/11/2012 04:21

smallSad for mini meltdown but Smile. for your DH being great and for good sleep!

warning: I am now using the new MN Talk Android app and emoticons are very easy to post so I will probably overuse them from now on!

have not slept since my last post as babyfunch feeding then sleeping on me then getting all sniffly and wakeful after transfer, and is now feeding again. think I will get DH to take over at 5 since he has had a pretty good night's sleep and then he can hand over to DM when he goes to work...I could get used to this. I wonder if DM fancies moving in....!Wink

Loup23 · 28/11/2012 05:01

Argh tried giving dd 4oz of expressed milk at 11 in hope it would see her through, she woke at 150 and again now. Am seriously getting Sad with the lack of progress in sleeping longer. Dd is nearly 12 weeks and I'm thinking of stoping bf just so I can measure and ensure she gets enough milk via formula Angry

Sorry not to namecheck hope all babies behaving .....

MrsNPattz · 28/11/2012 05:38

First feed here!! Think I will be coming to mum and dads more often lol

I'm glad to here some nights are improving, and sorry others aren't!

amey glad your car is ok - scary! Hope you are sound asleep right now!!

funch hope the KIT day goes ok again, your mum sounds like she is doing a wonderful job Smile my mum is having little one on Friday while me and hubby go for a Chinese, it's the first time we are leaving him and I'm a bit sad Sad but for our sanity we need to start leaving him so we can get some us time!

Hi susie - haven't spoken for a while! Biscuit

I'm wondering if this is us up for the day after such a long sleep..........

NervousAt20 · 28/11/2012 06:05

I feed before crying too, I wait until DD is quite awake but I can tell that by the noises she makes, if I don't she'll have a couple of sucks then straight back to sleep

funch glad you managed to get a few hours sleep and enjoyed your night out with your DH

Wow mrsn first feed, I'm ver jelous Envy. How old is your LO again? Blush sorry trying to remember things in the early hours is not my strong point

We're on feed 3 here but DD is very fidgety and taking a whole to settle before I attempt a transfer. Infacol is working wonders, she's a nightmare though if she brings any milk/sick up she closes her mouth tightly and tries to swallow it before I can get her to spit it out

I wish I could buy sleepy mice

Goatbongosanonymous · 28/11/2012 06:11

Greetingzzzzzzzz...
Second feed here. I don't think Kid has gone that long since the night he came home from NNU. I'm just thankful as well that he had a break from guzzling after the amount he inhaled yesterday. I was beginning to think there was a leak somewhere, like those silent leaks you get in tyres.
Sorry for the bad nights still. Sad
funch glad you had a great night out.
loup i'm so sorry yu are having a tough time. Please don't forget though that formula is no guarantee of a good night's sleep, believe me! Kid went from bf to formula and stayed on exactly the same pattern. Last night was the first time he hasn't and I am not holding my breath that it will continue! Smile sorry, that's probably a bit gloomy.... Just don't want you to do something you don't particularly want to do and not have anything to show for it!
Sorry for not name checking everyone but Kid has unbelievably dropped off again so am going to follow his lead!

NervousAt20 · 28/11/2012 06:14

I've had some adorable smile tonight Grin it's so hard not to talk to her and stimulate her when she does them

Ameybee · 28/11/2012 06:32

There's no one like your dm is their fun! 4th time up here and transfer fail :( x

StuntNun · 28/11/2012 06:44

Feeds at 1:10, 3:45 and 5:30. Yay what an improvement, his growth spurt must be over. I feel ten times better after a couple of better nights. It's amazing how much effect the sleepless nights have on your mood, you can go from tired new mum to crazy person in one night.

Smallgreenone · 28/11/2012 07:29

Have had to resettle him twice since he went back down at 4 but on advice of hv I did not pick him up and it worked! First time I popped dummy in and he went straight back then the second time switched on Ewan and he went back. I feel human again today it's wonderful. Sorry to all who've had a rough night. I don't expect this to last bit it's great to have just one good night.
loup I think about formula everytime it gets so bad I feel I can't cope and I am actually going to try it just to see. I'll keep expressing and just do it for a few days to see if it makes any difference. Going to start with a couple of feeds a day and work our way up. Will let you know how we get on!

Susieloo · 28/11/2012 07:40

I have gone on to SMP, in the month before Christmas!!!!!! Oh dearSad

blonderthanred · 28/11/2012 08:15

Sounds like a mixed bag of sleeps, hope those who were having a bad time got there in the end.

Well who knows if it was the cranio, the poo or the Infacol but we had NO screaming last night (apart from a little nappy-change protestation). Successful transfers at 12.30 and 3.30. Been awake since 6.30 but he is having a sleepy feed now so might even get a little bonus snooze.

Must remember to get spare batteries for Ewan as he was key to our success!

Ameybee · 28/11/2012 08:20

small how long did it take to settle LO with just patting? I get impatient and give up. Baby bee woke at 6 and I just fed again. Which is lazy but quick I guess but I should try just settling In cot. Puffing a ewan on his Xmas list! X

MrsNPattz · 28/11/2012 08:31

nervous he is 10 weeks, 11 on Sunday. So nearly 3 months. How old is your little one again?

susie oh no!! I'm dreading my pay going down Confused

Well thankfully little man fell asleep earlier and we got another 2 hours! Up now for the day, have good ones guys xx

NervousAt20 · 28/11/2012 08:40

I bet you feel great today with that block of sleep mrsn my LO is 6 weeks Friday so you've given me hope Grin everyone that asks how she sleeps then carry in to tell me how their DC was s terrible sleeper until 2 years old ect...

Feeding again here do hoping LO settles after so I can get a bath

Goatbongosanonymous · 28/11/2012 08:56

Wow, I feel better with a bit more sleep (sorry my turn to sound smug, I apologise Blush ) As you say, stunt so much easier to have things in perspective.
susie I am trying to pretend that SMP is not looming... Lalalala!
Baby massage today and might start some Christmas cooking for the freezer. Am trying to head PILs off at the pass, otherwise they will try and do all the work!

Goatbongosanonymous · 28/11/2012 08:57

Plus I have discovered that Kid likes sitting in his bouncy chair watching me, while chewing on a rubber spatula Hmm

Smallgreenone · 28/11/2012 09:50

amey about 2 minutes! He wasn't reay crying just making those I'm about to get up noises and all I did was pop in a dummy and pat him with Ewan on in the background and he was straight back to sleep. It was so easy I'm convinced it was a one off!
susie I am now on smp too Sad
goat good luck with Christmas cooking, I don't think I'm going to even get round to doing a cake let alone anything else.

MrsNPattz · 28/11/2012 10:34

nervous I daren't let myself think that this is him getting into a good sleeping pattern, I'm convinced it's not going to last and that it must be fluke! He hasn't been sleeping so much in the day and we have been seeing lots of people so maybe he's just completely shattered? I have heard good sleep stories and bad so it really must be down to each individual baby! It goes so quick doesn't it, can't believe he's nearly 3 months.

missingmymarbles · 28/11/2012 10:38

SMP for me tooSadStarting this payday which is tomorrow. Like you say, Susie, tus rubbish the month before Christmas.

Excellent work, Kid and BabyPattzGrin Please teach the rest of our babies the new skills.

Sorry I can't remember other specific name details. Another crappy night in the marble household. Actually it probably wouldn't have been too bad but I fell asleep with Missmarbles on my chest. Twice. Blush That meant more transfer failures and more feeding. Then I put her in with me at 6.45 and we all overslept til 8.15 - oops! Thankfully DD1 had got herself up and dressed and then came to wake us so she wasn't late for school. DH has the lurgy. I have a bit of a richly throat and snotty nose. I just need a decent nights sleep........ When will that be??? Tell me when

I got the high chair out of the lift yesterday and cleaned it, as she's definitely nearly ready. She's so interested in what we're doing although I am trying to hang on another couple of weeks. She's 20 weeks today and the HV said to hang on til at least now. I said I'd do it when I though we were ready and I hoped it would be around 22 but she tries to grab my spoon or plate if she's on my kneeGrin We'll see. It might help the sleeping but I'm not entirely convinced about that theory.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

missingmymarbles · 28/11/2012 18:52

On bedtime feed now and Missmarbles is sporting her brand new wadded walk-in sleeper. I hope this prevents her little hands and arms turning into icicles in the night. She's nodded off already, knackered from the lack of sleep today. She had an hour at lunchtime and only ten minutes before that Hmm Hopefully she will sleep a full 12 1/2 hours [againHmm ]

Hope everyone has a decent sleep tonight. I'm in no doubt I will see you later.

Susieloo · 28/11/2012 19:27

Interesting development in the babyloo house tonight because I have not fed him to sleep for the first time ever!!! Well I did and he woke up so tried again and tried to get him to sleep on me and he wasn't interested so I put him in his cot with his projector on and turned the ocean noise on and he nodded off-well he had he's just woken himself up coughing as I write this, hoping it will work it's magic again.

I have got over the shock of my SMP wage slip just about but the next few months are going to be very tight!!! Feel happy with my decision to extend my leave but have decided to go back mid April rather than the beginning of may.

All seems quiet so I'm going to have my tea and go to bed with my new book-heaven.

Hope everyone has a good nightSmile

Ameybee · 28/11/2012 19:35

Oh my god I'm so pissed off - DS had his usual teatime nap that we've been trying to stick to so that he goes down at a reasonable hour - he woke up at 6 and I went upstairs to play with DD and left DH downstairs with him - an hour later I find him cuddling him on sofa and DS has been fast asleep!!!!!! I think we are going to have a raging row because I'm so mad. He was supposed to bring him up and give him a bath. So now bedtime will be late and its not DH who's up all night is it?! Rant over. X

MrsNPattz · 28/11/2012 20:35

Hi smicha and marbles! Glad things have improved smicha and hope things do for you marbles!

susie I don't know how I'm going to cope on SMP but I have to so no point worrying about it Confused

Attempt at bedtime for us here but he will need another change and feed I think!
