On ?3rd feed here! God I'm knackered, really craving like 6 hours uninterrupted sleep :( not going to happen for a while tho! DS was awake 130-245 - very happy smiley and cute! Have a feeling be won't be keen to go back down now but I'm so tired I can't start the day now. Eyes blurring & too tired to write anymore xx

Mrsn I'm very jealous!! But glad you got some kip - it must've felt amazing to sleep so long! I really hope babybee goes that long soon! X

Wow mrsn that's a brilliant stretch! Hope it soon becomes the norm!

I'm a bit gutted as babylump slept from 1.30am to 9am which would have been amazing were it not for DD1 getting up at 4am and spending the next two hours in our bed wiggling and shuffling and avoiding going back to sleep at all costs :( But still, I live in hope they might one day decide between them to let me have an unbroken nights sleep!

After a night that was one long epic transfer fail (I knew I had jinxed it by mentioning how great things had been) and a day fighting sleep, Kid is currently sound asleep on the floor in front of the Christmas tree,which we put up early so he could look at the lights. Does either/both of these things make me a terrible mother?... I haven't even covered him with a blanket in case it wakes him!

DS had a couple of hrs in bednest and a couple each on me & DH last night. Today has been like a limpet, even sling failed. I've achieved nothing apart from being human pillow. Am giving up second guessing him - it's so different every day!

We saw grandad which was so lovely, got some gorgeous pics. Had a little tear in my eye when we left cause I miss him and he's so lovely.

Hubby and I and little man then went to the garden centre where I used to work (in the cafe) for our lunch.

Have any of you heard of the Christmas elf tradition? It's American (of course!) and on the first of December one of Santa's elves comes to stay to make sure children are being good and to cause mischief. Then they go back to Santa on Christmas Eve until next year! I have fallen in love with this idea so have already ordered an elf even though boyo is only going to be 3 months at Christmas - I'm bonkers aren't I hehe I just want Christmas to be so magical and exciting and can't wait to start! I'm not sure when our elf will arrive, he might be a bit late this year

You know, I seem to have verbal diarrhoea when it comes to you guys - I just seem to babble on about all sorts! Lol

mrsn I love the idea of the elf! I want Christmas to be magical too, I love Christmas and now that I have my own child it will be so much better. I can't wait until he's big enough to know how fun it is writing to Santa and Christmas trees and stockings by the fire etc etc.
I've been knackered today after last nights terrible sleep. Am hoping baby small will go to bed nicely at 7 and I shall be not far behind. He's been ok this afternoon as had a good 3hr nap at lunchtime I had to constantly rock him in his pram though so unfortunately no sleep for me. He was so grumpy at baby yoga this morning, we just sat and watched because he was too tired and bad tempered to join in.

Well - crap day here I'm afraid! Coping with 2 of them on 4 hours sleep was truly rough! Went to a music class this morning & had a coffee at the church coffee morning first - bumped into a friend I've not seen for a long time & when she asked how we were I just started crying and couldn't stop! She must've thought I was a total fool! DD asked me why I was sad and gave me a tissue which made me cry more!
The weathers been crap so me and DD sorted out Xmas decs whilst DS slept (in bouncy chair I might add) she really enjoyed that but from 430 has been tired, whingy clingy & a little bit naughty - splashed water on DS's face in bath tonight - that's the first time she's ever done anything like that & in my fragile state it has upset me!!!
I know its 'just a phase' but jeez it feels like a bloody long one today!

On the positive side today was weigh in & I had lost 3lbs! Another 28 at least to go tho..... Groan! Xxx

Well done on the weight loss Amey, I'm sure your friend didn't think you were a fool, in fact I bet she felt quite relieved - we've all felt like that and sometimes it seems like everyone else is coping perfectly so she probably thought, thank goodness it's not just me!

I have had a nice day - I think I have adapted to not sleeping much! We had our first baby massage class which babyfunch behaved beautifully for. She seemed oblivious to the massage and just gazed at the other babies which was very sweet.

We also had our weekly NCT class meet up in a pub as it has lots of space for buggies and we thought it would be quiet on a Monday at 2 but actually was half full til we scared everyone away with babies! They were actually all really good and any crying was soon silenced by feeding but people did look a bit perturbed!

My mum is here and loving seeing her granddaughter - DH and I are going out for dinner tomorrow as she is happy to babysit. I have booked a leg wax on the grounds that it feels like a date!!

goat that is an excellent idea about babies enjoying the tree lights....may go buy a tree ASAP!

Feeding now which is an unusual time for us...her patterns of feeding and therefore hopefully sleeping appear to be changing. This can only be a good thing! See you all later!

We used to argue like that all the time Heff. Pretty much exactly the same. I go to bed because I know I'm not going to get much sleep; you go to late and then have the audacity to complain - it does get easier, honest.

Well, the doubling didn't occur unfortunately. Missmarbles just didn't get it; just wouldn't follow the plan, would you believe? At least it wasn't any worse though.

Well he did a 3 hour, after the hour long feedathon I have to admit I was hopeful of slightly more. Starting to think it makes no difference how long he feeds for he will sleep as long as he decides.

Thanks, my friend was very sweet, I just felt really stupid crying in public & it just wouldn't bloody stop - like floodgates!

Just had a transfer faliure & attempting to get more milk into him at first feed was v sleepy. I think he's just comfort sucking tho... Groan. Think DH is also praying I get some sleep - don't think he can deal with my emotional outbursts!

Bit of a bad evening here as DD woke crying about 8:30 and wouldn't stop. She has a cold which I think really bothered her when she was lying down. She has been crying, feeding and sleeping on me in turns since :( Long night ahead!

First feed done. Was hoping for longer but can't complain as ten past midnight is an improvement.

I think this is first feed which is amazing!! I tried to dream feed him at half ten and managed to change his nappy and try and get him to feed and he stayed fast asleep and I'm fairly sure this is first wake up.

So much for waking baby for a feed at 10:30. This is my second feed since then. So tired.

amey it's so tough without any sleep or with so little sleep, hope your LO let's you have some rest tonight, do you express? Maybe your DH could get up do a feed and me you sleep? Maybe a good cry will help you feel better and let it all out

DP came home today thank god, I feel so sorry for him he can't do anything for himself like brush teeth, pick a drink in a glass up, text on his phone. He's just got use to using the remote with the end of one to her but I'm just grateful that it was nothing worse that happened to him, there are so many horrible people today he could have been Hirt alot worse

Just on firs feed since bed time. LO did not want to go to sleep tonight and is fighting it again now but she gave me 3 hours so please repeat

We are up again - suppose 3 hours better than 2 although the transfer took 40 mins so not exactly much sleep.

I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong - why doesn't he sleep? Why have all my friends got bf babies who sleep 7 hours at night? I feel so shit about it! :(

Still awake from last feed. He won't settle, just keeps fussing. I have tried to feed him three times but he takes a little then makes unhappy noises.

Worst night ever here. Screamathon at about 1 to 1:30 which had DH up dressed and ready to drive her around in the car but I managed to get her back to sleep by walking about with her in the sling. Fell asleep sitting up in bed with sling on at 2 but woken every 15 mins. Now feeding and then hopefully she will sleep on me for a bit. Thank God DM is here to help out, she will have her from 7 so I can sleep!

We're up too amey I know exactly how you feel, why is mine the only one who hasn't got the hang of sleeping yet. I'm going to ask the hv again tomorrow if there is anything I'm doing wrong but her advice last time was crap so don't hold out much hope. I don't understand why I can put him down earlier in the night and he'll doze off to Ewan but at this time of night he just will not fall asleep and he wakes on transfer everytime. It's so frustrating. We've just had a failed transfer so am waiting for a deep sleep so I can try again.
I hate to wish away these days of him being so wonderfully small and he's such a sweet baby in all other ways but I do wish he'd sleep more.

amey, small, I feel exactly the same. I am hoping she just grows out of it as HV here has been sounding good but none of her advice has actually worked :(

amey small funchum me too doesn't seem to matter how many evening feeds I do dd is awake at 3am and 6am when in the day she'll go longer and other friends' babies will do 5 or 6 hours dd has done 1 6 hour stint it was heaven but has never been repeated .....
