A brand spanking new thread for midnight ramblings, chocolate covered pretzels and so much more Grin

OP posts:
missingmymarbles · 25/11/2012 04:33

Have done four feeds since bed time but the second was only 40 mins after (start of) first so I am considering that a transfer failure. Then we've had two two hour stints which although 'could do better' is a definite improvesmentbonbthe last few nights. Will read thread later zzzzzzzzz

Smallgreenone · 25/11/2012 04:35

Transfer fail again. Am losing the will to live. If the next one fails I'll have to take him into bed with me. How can he go in his cot at 7 sleepy but awake and nod off on his own but at this time of night he needs to be attached to my nipple Confused

MrsNPattz · 25/11/2012 04:39

First feed here, but I got woken by them all coming home at 12 so not as good as it could have been! Going to catch up on thread, it's busy tonight which isn't a good sign Sad

Ameybee · 25/11/2012 05:21

The extra milk from nappy change made him go a grand total of....30 mins extra!! God knows what's going off! I could cope with 3 hourly but 2?! Seriously, he's 9 weeks! All I can think is growth spurt. X

MrsNPattz · 25/11/2012 05:30

goat poor you - hope you feel better soon!

marbles sorry to hear you had a hard time but how lovely that you now have two beautiful DD's! My friends have been through so much, it's truly heart breaking.

amey, funch and everyone having bad nights - I think you need to tuck into the virtual ginger bread! Seriously hope you manage some decent sleep now xx

blonderthanred · 25/11/2012 05:30

Sorry to hear others are having difficult nights too. Hope you get some peace before dawn. Just given DS to DH to take downstairs so I can get a couple of hrs sleep.

Goatbongosanonymous · 25/11/2012 06:02

Awake. Kid back with me for a few hours as is sleeping angelically. Sorry, was. Is now contorting himself through a feed. Hope we get back to sleep...

Thanks for good wishes all, I feel better after a but of sleep, although still alarmingly seasick when I stand up. Well by the sound of the wind out there, a duvet day today will not go amiss!

StuntNun · 25/11/2012 06:48

Wooo got a three hour sleep and only five feeds through the night (after eight the night before). Result.

MrsNPattz · 25/11/2012 09:46

We got up at half 8, after little man was awake an hour and a half at 4.

goat you definitely deserve a duvet day!

We have family coming today. My dad told us 3 and 3 years ago that he was adopted. Since then he has found his half brother and sister which is nice as he was an only child before. We have met them a few times, so his brother and his wife and two daughters (my new cousins!) are coming this morning.

Then this afternoon we are going to see my Auntie who is not actually my Auntie, and her family. She was my childminder since I was 10 weeks old and will always have a special place in my heart. So looking forward to her meeting little man!

Have a restful day guys xx

missingmymarbles · 25/11/2012 19:46

If we double last nights timings, like last night we doubled the timings of the night before, we should be nearly back to normalConfused.........?

MrsNPattz · 25/11/2012 20:50

Well we have one very overtired, over stimulated little boy here tonight! Has hardly slept all day and we have seen lots of people today. Really hoping he goes down soon and has a decent sleep for himself more than me (although sleep would be nice for me too!).

Hope everyone has good nights tonight!

Susieloo · 25/11/2012 22:06

Liking your style marblesGrin we are on first feed of the night already so only a 3 hour stretch so far, hoping my projector will work its magic again, I had been asleep for 90 mins and was really hoping for a 1am at the earliest kinda night.

On a different subject my mum cooked a beautiful piece of lamb for tea and earlier this morning she made some Yorkshires to have with it and throughout the day I have eaten 5, that's a lot even for me-they were v goodGrin

All bets are off re when we will be up again-it's too random to call anymore!!

Have a great night everyoneSmile

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 25/11/2012 23:24

Hi everyone, I can't remember if I posted last night or not and either way it looks like I've got lots of pages to catch up on tonight!

Everyone in my house is now in bed except from me and not so little babylump. I am scoffing iced mince pies and treating myself to a nice sneaky glass of Sauvignon blanc while watching I'm a celeb. Today has been a bit pants I've been arguing with DH on & off all day because he's tired after his night out with the NCT dads last night and he's such a grump when he's tired (no mention of my own tiredness of course... Hmm ) DD1 has been a bit difficult, toddler tantrums a-plenty, and babylump has been really unsettled and shouty all evening. All in all I'm feeling like I've earned my little glass of Wine and I can't wait to go to bed.

How has everyone's day been?

Off to read back on the thread now and catch up.

funchum8am · 25/11/2012 23:55

heff sorry to hear you had a rubbish day; arguing with your partner is always miserable but sometimes I find it makes me feel worse to bottle up things that are annoying me. DH is not allowed to mention his own tiredness ever ever unless he wants to hear about mine! at high volume followed by the door slamming

goat hope you are feeling ever more human

susie those yorkshires sound yum!

mrsn sounds like the family visit is improving! Did your dad always know he was adopted?

stuntnun who hoo three hours is good progress! marbles how is the doubling of timings going?

We have had a lovely day at a birthday brunch for DH's friend. It was a perfect baby friendly event - perfect nap distance away by car, easy parking, 11:30am start, fab food and lots of kids there as well as adults we like, plus some fizz!

blonderthanred · 25/11/2012 23:56

Hi Heffalump, sounds like you deserve your Wine. It is so hard not to bicker when you are both tired but your DH should definitely defer to your superior tiredness! I am still up too as DH has an early start and a big day at work tomorrow so I sent him up at 10 to get some uninterrupted sleep while I fed DS downstairs and watched tv. Of course DS has been sparko on me and will probably wake up at midnight just when I want to go to bed. Fingers xed for no colicky screaming.

Susie mmm Yorkshire puds my favourite. I think you've been very restrained Grin

Ameybee · 26/11/2012 00:11

First feed here so made 3 hours, just hope it continues - I am well and truly knackered!

heff sorry u argued with DH, so easy when you're tired! I made a flippant comment to DH on sat when he was on about works Xmas do & he snapped at me about it! Cue silent car journey & sulking! He also moans about being tired - err hello you're getting like at least 6 uninterrupted hours every night and you could have more you just CHOOSE to stay up late whereas I go early!!

DD came out with another clanger today - in cafe she says to her grandad studying his face 'you've got a hairy nose grandad - is it your beard up your nose?!' I had to try very hard not to wet myself! I think she is at that age where she's going to start accidently offending!!

X

NervousAt20 · 26/11/2012 00:13

I've been AWOL again ladies, been having really bad nights here so haven't been on and just checked in and there's 100 posts to catch up on Shock

The last few nights DD has gone back to hourly but hoping tonight's different. We've had an absolute awful day, been in hospital with DP as he got attacked Saturday night when out and had to have an operation on his hands yesturday and now had both hands in plaster for the next 6 weeks Sad might not be checking in as much but hope you and all your babies are doing well with lots of sleep for all xx

Goatbongosanonymous · 26/11/2012 00:53

nervous that's really awful about your DP! My sympathies and thoughts with you all. Hope he is feeling a bit better soon, both in mind and body - that's a tough thing to deal with. For you too.

blonder hope you get some more hours, especially ones joined together!

susie there is no such thing as too many Yorkshire puddings. Last weekend we went for a pub roast and they forgot to give me one! Worse, I forgot to notice until too late!! I must be tired...

heff sounds like you had a wearing day. That Wine was well and truly deserved.

funch and mrsn sounds like you had nice days.

amey wait till your DD starts on people on the bus! Grin not that there are any family legends about me doing that

I am feeling much better tonight. Half the day snuggled with Kid on the sofa and a walk in the lovely sunshine in Black Park were beautifully medicinal. I even just raided the fridge during this last feed! Kid now asleep. I think. Transfer attempt no 1 coming up...

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 26/11/2012 01:26

Oh gosh nervous how awful, hope your DH makes a quick recovery. Must have been terrifying being attacked, and so worrying for you.

amey your DD is so funny! You should keep a little book with everything she says written down so you can present it to her on her 18th.Grin

I will try and be nicer to DH tomorrow. Sometimes its difficult to remember its not a competition over who is most tired, but sometimes I feel like he's making it into one which makes me want to bop him on the nose

Babylump finally fallen asleep so have transferred and now we're headed upstairs hopefully for a few hours blissful sleep.

Spreading sleepy dust to all...

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 26/11/2012 01:27

goat glad you're feeling better. Fingers crossed for transfer success! :)

StuntNun · 26/11/2012 02:16

Already on the third feed of the night. Tired. Sad

Susieloo · 26/11/2012 02:52

nervous that's awful, I'm so sorry to hear about your dp what a nightmare situation for you all and how frightening.

stunt I'm knackered too but only on 2nd feed so far so you have my sympathies.

10-2.45 is a huge improvement so hopefully things are starting to return to normal, really hoping he misses the 5am wake up and goes straight through until 7-I can dreamSmile

funchum8am · 26/11/2012 03:15

I am not going to post about waking timings tonight in case I jinx things!

Good luck for smooth transfers and long stretches everyone.

nervous my thoughts are with you and your family. That is a terrible situation and I hope your DP makes a full and swift recovery.

My mum arrives tomorrow and it will be really lovely for her to see all the changes in babyfunch. Hopefully she will see enough of her to get some smiles of her own before she leaves on Thursday.

Smallgreenone · 26/11/2012 05:54

Hi all been too tired to post but we've been up practically every hour. I don't know what's wrong with him, is there a 13 week growth spurt? I'm so so tired.
nervous sorry to hear about your dp, hope all is ok.
Waves to everyone

MrsNPattz · 26/11/2012 06:05

Holy moly - our little guy has slept from 9 - 5 tonight!! I knew he was exhausted but I thought it might work against us. I slept from 9:30, woke at 4 for the loo and then fell asleep again until I was summoned lol so I got a great stretch too! He is now wide awake but I'm not surprised, so we have come downstairs as he is being very vocal about it Grin

nervous I'm so sorry to hear about your DP, you poor things! Thinking of you and sending lots of hugs. Hope little one makes things easy for you!

funch yes things are improving! Think I have relaxed a bit more. Dad found out when he was just 15! He found his real mum too, but she died recently and before that claimed she couldn't remember my dad but luckily her sister is alive and remembered dad being born.

heff sorry you argued with DH - been there! They can be rather inconsiderate can't they Hmm

We are off to visit my grandad this morning but then we have a free afternoon which I am very much looking forward to!
