A brand spanking new thread for midnight ramblings, chocolate covered pretzels and so much more Grin

NervousAt20 · 19/11/2012 07:38

Thanks mrsn

Were up again and I'm hoping I manage to fall asleep after this I'm shattered!

Hope everyone has a good day

NervousAt20 · 19/11/2012 08:07

Does anyone else's baby seem to have a party trick of the second you take their nappy off if another one isn't on in 20secobds they wee everywhere? My LO hot us 3 times in 1 day last week Grin oh and she covered the floor at the health centre when I took her to get weighed along with my coat

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 19/11/2012 08:22

nervous babylump does a similar thing with poo, she's got quite a range! The bit at weigh clinic where you have to take the nappy off fills me with dread, I know one day she'll get someone with it Blush

Sorry to hear of the bad nights, I have Ewan to thank for my good night as each time I couldn't settle her after feeding he came to the rescue and sent her off into the land of nod. Keep meaning to get some spare batteries for him, does anyone know what he takes?

Hope your Gtt goes ok today smicha they're no fun are they, although I'm a bit addicted to lucozade so never mind much when they give you half a gallon to drink in between :)

amey pmsl at "just a bum and legs" Grin

DD1 embarrassed me the other day, I thought I'd got away with a quiet fart (accidental I might add!) until she exclaimed at the top of her voice "Pardon yoooouu Mummy! .... Pooh! Stinks!" Blush Blush Blush

NervousAt20 · 19/11/2012 08:25

Grin heff shooting someone with poo might just be a touch more embarrassing

Think I'm going to invest in Ewan as an early Christmas present for myself

MrsNPattz · 19/11/2012 09:13

Welcome leelteloo

heff lol at silent fart!! Grin

Up for the day here, weather is awful!!

Have a good day guys xx

Smicha · 19/11/2012 09:32

Bored in the hospital having had one lot of blood taken and drunk the dreaded glucose drink [bleurgh emoticon] Ds is sleeping soundly and the nurse said she'll find me a room when I need to BF, which is nice. I hope he just stays asleep as long as possible! It's very odd being back in the maternity hospital surrounded by bumps!

nervous and heff my lo does the exact same thing with both poo and wee. I never knew poo could come out with such force! Ed Byrne does a sketch on this where he reckons you could use a pooing baby to creosote a fence!

heff Ewan takes three AAAs. We now have a spare pack and a mini screwdriver in the bedroom drawer as we were caught out once when the batteries died in the middle of the night!

I am now officially starving!! Brought a banana to eat as soon as they've taken the last blood and I'm sure it's taunting me by moving round in the bag so it's permanently in a position where I can see it!

MiniPopsMum2012 · 19/11/2012 09:32

Thanks MrsN he is doing well, we're very lucky. My name check was only good as I actually got on the laptop for a change, no way I can do that on my phone! :)

It was very scary blond, hope Ewan works for you Grin

Funch that sounds great about the ceremony. God, can you imagine a LO sleeping through for 7 nights? 7 nights sleep, my goodness I can't imagine what that feels like anymore. Boo to the hourly waking though :(

Heffalump I got a ballot place for the London Marathon last year after 4 years of trying, I was going to run that then hang up my running shoes, but a month later i got my BFP so had to defer my entry to this year, amm slightly concerned about how I am going to manage training, but have got to give it a go, - lol-a-rama at yout DD1 Grin

MiniPopsMum2012 · 19/11/2012 09:33

Hey Goat, sorry your absence wasn;t due to lots of sleep :( but Grin at hammocks

Hello Honky & Leelteloo waves welcome and congrats

Also Grin Grin at Susieloo walkie talkie - i know exactly what you mean.. hahahah

Yay Smicha on the 4 hours, good luck for the GTT. Are you having the full on GTT with the three blood tests?

ahahahahahahahah Amey bless your DD, that's hilarious, and yes I bloody hate it when I sneeze during feeding, as it wakes LO up and makes him jump as well (sometimes causing a choke)

Marbles that's rubbish, too.

Nervous yup, MiniPop likes to wee everywhere as soon as the air hits his willy. I usually put the new nappy underneath the old one, before taking it off and then hold new nappy over will until his done it. Doesn't always work though..

We didnt have too bad a night, after a not too good day. 11pm - 6am, unfortunately I wasn't asleep for all of that, bah!

Hope you all have good days (and sorry for anyone I missed)

Smallgreenone · 19/11/2012 09:36

Hi all, too tired to post last night but giggling away now at the graduation ceremony!
They promised heavy rain today but its dry for now so going to go for a walk now and get a light projector thing in the hope it may help baby small sleep?! We have Ewan who is great but I think his light is too bright and red so I'm going to get a starry projector thing that makes light on the ceiling and then baby small can stare up at it if he wakes and it'll gently put him back to sleep - this is what it says on the packaging anyway!!!

MrsNPattz · 19/11/2012 09:39

Is your little one 6 months then smicha?

Yes mini you are little bit mad running the London Marathon but good on ya! Grin

Our little one often gets us with a wee too - little scamps Smile

Susieloo · 19/11/2012 09:59

small I have a light projector that I use to settle babyloo, same as most things it works sometimes twice so far but I also use it in the night as a light rather than putting an actual light on if that makes sense, mine has sounds on as well that I have also used with varying degrees of successSmile

Smicha · 19/11/2012 11:53

mrsn he's just 8 weeks but they do postnatal GTTs here at 6 weeks so it was booked in for 6 weeks after my actual due date. Hopefully all will be ok!

NervousAt20 · 19/11/2012 12:33

Good luck smicha and I hope your little man stays asleep for you

mini my hat goes off to you, running a marathon!! I almost died last week walking up a hill Blush in my defense I was a big hill. I didn't realise how spoilt I was by driving so now I try get out with the pram everyday

We were given a light projector but haven't tried it yet so think ill go out for some batteries for tonight

BabyN is now sound asleep

blonderthanred · 19/11/2012 12:34

Have you kept to the GD diet Smich? I have been eating fairly well during the day but keep scarfing chocolate digestives at night.

MrsNPattz · 19/11/2012 13:00

Ah I see smicha, it's 6 months here! I haven't been sticking to a GD diet but obviously trying failing to not go too mad on sugar!

funchum8am · 19/11/2012 13:23

We have a light projector as part of our baby monitor. Babyfunch likes to stare at it sometimes and DH loves it he is still a child at heart

goat you could be right about Antippdean time. Maybe I should move to NZ with her!

smicha you must be starving! Hope test results are good.

mini I salute you for doing the marathon. Are you a regular runner? My DH might be doing London for charity so I will be there - do wear your MN name on your vest so I can cheer you on!!

Smicha · 19/11/2012 13:25

I have been useless at keeping to a gd diet! Once I tasted cake again I couldn't go back! I actually still eat a lot more wholewheat but I'm back onto evil breakfast cereal as it is convenient with a new baby... I know I should cut down on sugar but my BFing body wants it! DS stayed asleep for a while and then once I fed him he was all giggly and all the pregnant women in the clinic were cooing over him...if only they could see him each evening at scream time Wink

mini you are supermum! A marathon! I ran a half marathon last year and I know how hard that was when I was at the peak of my fitness. I am considering applying for a place again in 2013 and you may be my inspiration! I'll have to find a decent sportsbra for my giant jugs first! Actually, does anyone know of any nursing sportsbras for the larger boob?

MummyV18 · 19/11/2012 14:36

I think in going to have to cold turkey with my diet.

I am eating so so bad in fact it's almost pure chocolate. I have to get this weight off not increase it!!!!

Goatbongosanonymous · 19/11/2012 15:26

minipop I salute you! A marathon, no less, how amazing. Can we come and cheer you on? Smile

Hello leelteloo hope you are getting sleep today.

smicha how are you feeling after the GTT? Isn't it odd going back to antenatal? When I went for a consultant's appointment I did not even have Kid with me as he had only just been discharged from NNU, and I felt like a right spare part! (then they had lost my notes, so a bit of a wasted trip anyway Hmm )

I have a projector but keep forgetting to use it. I think because the music is a bit Confused

Love the thought of a graduation ceremony! (did a teacher think of that? Smile ) what happens in the case of regression? Return of degree certificate or a refresher course?

Did someone mention the D word?... Fingers in podgy ears and lalala.

And now, in the spirit of susie attempting daytime nap - crackle - I repeat, attempting daytime nap, over and out.

Ameybee · 19/11/2012 16:24

Well - moan alert! Having a really s*it day :( started off really tired with DS not settling till late so I felt crabby from word go! Shouted at DD because she was being so slow this morning and she insisted I empty potty immediately (had screaming DS in arms) & so ended up tipping wee down my cardigan! So shouted again :( felt horrendously guilty.
Got to music class & really had to try so hard not to cry the entire hour - especially when the tea lady asked me how I was getting on. Had a good cry on the way home then DD went to nursery for afternoon - probably glad to get away from me :(.
Just re-joined weight watchers online as I feel so fat n horrid. The only thing that made me smile today was that I get 44 propoints a day for breastfeeding!
Sorry for moan. I think lack of sleep is making me lose perspective x

MrsNPattz · 19/11/2012 16:48

I am the same smicha - was really careful with what cereal I ate and now I can't get enough of choc orange shreddies!! Really need to lose weight too but I'm not in the right frame of mind at the moment.

amey poor you - sorry you have had an awful day! Hope you are feeling better now.

Lol at goat!

Do you ever wonder what we all look like? Grin

Ameybee · 19/11/2012 17:55

Can't believe it DD has yet another vomiting bug :( I really don't know how much more of this I can take :( surely we deserve a break?

Smallgreenone · 19/11/2012 18:19

Oh dear amey sounds like you really are having a hard time. It's such a bad time of year for bugs. Hope she gets better soon.
Baby small has had round two of injections today and has slept pretty much all day since. We're going to try and do bedtime as normal but I'm not sure it will work. I hate the injections. Poor little chap smiling away at the nurse and then she jabbed him with her enormous needle and his poor little face and then the scream. Just awful. He's dosed up on calpol and I think he's feeling better but think we might be in for a sleepless night.
mrsn I sometimes wonder what we all look like- a complete mess with huge bags under my eyes in my case Smile

amey that sounds like a really hard day and I'm sorry your dd is poorly, I have nothing but admiration for all of you who also have other children as well as a baby. Really hope she feels better soon and you get some rest tonight.

We are on last feed before bed and babyloo is very bunged up so not sure if he will be restless tonight.

I felt totally wiped out today so dp took babyloo for a walk and to see his mum and I crawled into bed only to wake up thinking how gutted I was that I hadn't really slept and then realised they had been gone for two hours!!

I do have a picture of all of you in my mindSmile my pictures on my profile page along with a photo of babyloo in the bath that I posted a while ago, well presume its still there.

My tea is waiting for me and I'm beyond starving so this needs to go wellSmile
