A brand spanking new thread for midnight ramblings, chocolate covered pretzels and so much more Grin

Hi goat good to have you back, here's to lots more long sleeps on their way.

I've just done the transfer, waiting a few minutes and hopefully then we'll be going up to bed I got in the loft yesterday and dug out dd1's baby sleeping bags which in hoping will help keep babylump nice and cosy now its getting chillier. We haven't got a radiator in our bedroom so need lots of layers as it can get chilly. Can't wait to have the electric blanket on soon, really missed it while pregnant last winter.

So have the sleepy mice been visiting?

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 19/11/2012 00:34

Hi honkey and welcome :) how old is your LO?

Lol at the bum shuffle, that's a familiar sounding manoeuvre!

Honkyponk · 19/11/2012 00:41

Thanks for the welcome! Little lady is eleven weeks, although she was a whopper at birth and is now the size of a toddler. She likes to enjoy a full sitting at the snack bar of mum whilst the rings under my eyes get deeper and darker. Hope you crept away successfully!

Susieloo · 19/11/2012 01:09

1st feed of the night after a mammoth 90 minute feeding session before he finally went to sleep at half seven, really hoping for at least half fiveGrin

Welcome honky and nice to see you goat and Grin at fun's graduation ceremony.

It appears I have to recommend Tescos finest banoffee tart as I consumed nearly a whole one after my lovely roast dinner, I kept wandering past the fridge and grabbing a spoon and having little bits and it just sort of disappearedSmile was v yummy.

I bought babyloo a new play gym today in the mothercare 20% one day sale and he loves it although was getting a bit cross that he couldn't pull things off and put them in his mouth.

Attempting transfer (for some reason I always imagine that being said over a walkie talkie in some submarine or air traffic control centre-no idea why but then I'm very dramatic!)

Scattering sleepy dust as I go and releasing the sleepy mice.

Susieloo · 19/11/2012 01:21

Transfer fail.....

Smicha · 19/11/2012 02:03

Welcome Honky!

We just went 4 hours between wake ups! Happy mummy! Have just attempted transfer to cot though and I don't think it will be long until he's back in with me as the noises coming from the cot aren't good!

I may have to avoid this thread for the rest of the night as I have a glucose tolerance test in the morning to check that my gestational diabetes has gone and so I've been fasting from 10pm last night and all the talk of food is already making me very aware that I won't eat until lunchtime tomorrow Shock

blonderthanred · 19/11/2012 02:20

In the strange situation that I might have to wake DS for a feed. He has been fast asleep (on me) since feeding at 11pm and DH is due to take over so I can have a proper sleep for a couple of hrs, but I can't let him go that long without feeding. He's still below birthweight and gaining quite slowly so I am conscious of keeping him fed but it's never been a problem at night (quite the opposite).

Should I be worried at this sudden sleepiness or is it just normal to change patterns after a few weeks? (He is 3wks+2)

Hello Honky, hope everyone else doing well...

blonderthanred · 19/11/2012 02:23

Oh good luck with your GTT Smicha that will be me in a few weeks. Fingers xed all ok.

MummyV18 · 19/11/2012 02:37

Hi & welcome honky

Oh no goat that's not the news I was hoping for. We're taking the plunge tomorrow as I'm starting some medication. I'm slightly terrified though as I have no clue how to settle him as he falls asleep at the breast usually Confused

Mmmmm..... Banoffee pie

I too must also back away from the sweet stuff. I really need to get some of this weight off, I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow but I bet I have about 28lb to lose to get back to pre-preg weight Sad

Ameybee · 19/11/2012 02:43

Hello honkey! blond I wouldn't be too concerned, DS could sleep for hours - if laid on me!

We had a transfer faliure - over & out - now feeding from other boob so hoping he will be too beached to bother next time! :) don't you hate it when you sneeze whilst feeding - just scared the little man bless him!

I'm making a trip to Starbucks Tomo whilst I go to open a bank account for DS - might have to try the salted caramel thing!

Ps to make u all laugh - on taking DD to loo today she points to my crotch 'have u got a willy mummy?!' Me - 'err no I haven't' DD 'oh have u just got a bum and legs like me? Daddy has a willy!'

funchum8am · 19/11/2012 03:01

blonder I used to worry as DD went 5 hours between feeds once when very tiny but mw said only to worry if she kept losing weight and wasn't doing nappies. She is still the same now only not overnight (grr) - her long sleep is in the afternoon. However if weight gain is slow it won't hurt to wake for a feed, and will set your mind at rest.

goat really glad you have made some progress....baby steps etc...

amey Grin at 'just a bum and legs'!

blonderthanred · 19/11/2012 03:21

Amey did your dd think she would grow a willy when she was a grown up?!

I know what you mean re sneezing during feeding, DS still has quite a strong startle and if I sneeze the little limbs go flailing.

Have changed + fed DS and am in bed. Fingers xed for a peaceful couple of hrs.

Hope everyone else doing well.

Susieloo · 19/11/2012 03:24

Not sure why we are back approx two hours later, I was so happy with my three day run on 6.30-1 and then 1.30-5.15, those were the days!!

funchum8am · 19/11/2012 03:28

Poor DH has just headed for the sofa. We are still on hourly wakings after about 1am. At least she is consistent!

NervousAt20 · 19/11/2012 03:54

Hello ladies Smile

I haven't been on for a few days and there was 5 pages for me to catch up on and I haven't had a chance to read through and name check yet . The reason I haven't been on isn't because I've been gettin loads of sleep its because IVs been so tired its been a struggle to stay awake added let alone mums net Sad

Welcome to all the newcomers Smile hope Everyobe and their babies are okay!

We're on 2nd feed of the night here and LO has been taking longer to settle so hoping this is a smooth one, my eyes are stinging

Susieloo · 19/11/2012 04:15

NervousAt20 · 19/11/2012 04:21

1st transfer FAILED Sad in really starting to struggle with night feeds

Goatbongosanonymous · 19/11/2012 04:29

susie I too dread 4am... Yesterday Kid slept peacefully though it and I got quite excited. Ahahahaha!
Oo, some new names since I was here last, hello blonder and honky
vicky sorry about my horrible sleep news Sad Do remember that Kid is a prem, so sleeps very lightly, also has had latch and suck issues that have never really been resolved, so we are not the best example of a formula fed baby! I am sure yours will be better!
mrsn thank you for your concern Smile that's one of the great things about this thread, even when not on it there is amazing support!
amey that made me laugh!
funch perhaps baby funch is on Antipodean time?... (prize for least helpful comment...)
smicha good luck with GTT. Euch, more lovely glucose drink to imbibe... Sad
heff that electric blanket is sounding good right now!
nervous hope that transfer was indeed smooth!
marbles Sad about missmarbles' cold. Was the walk in useful?

Goatbongosanonymous · 19/11/2012 04:31

I was right...

MrsNPattz · 19/11/2012 04:31

Wow first feed here! That's 5 and a half hours! I knew little man was exhausted. It's absolutely pouring down outside!!

goat lovely to have you back and are feeling a bit better - I hit a similar exhaustion wall over the weekend. Not easy.

Welcome honky

Lol at funch's graduation ceremony - love it! And at susie's air traffic control centre! Grin

I think little man is getting a cough again Sad and his nose sounds snuffly. So a sofa day for us tomorrow.

It is 4 more sleeps until we go and stay with my family for 10 days - so excited Smile

MrsNPattz · 19/11/2012 04:34

Welcome back nervous Smile

smicha good look for today - I have mine in a few months.

You are welcome goat Smile

amey your DD1 made me laugh!

leelteloo · 19/11/2012 04:37

Morning everyone, Yawn. Often read this thread at night but been too tired generally to add anything. I recognise some of you from the sept baby thread, so special hi to you guys. My ds is 10 and half weeks now. He's a pretty chilled lad most of the time but its been exhausting since he had his jabs. He just seems hungry all the time and all progress we had made re sleeping and feeding gone out of the window. I hate being up at this time as now it's just count down till dd is wanting to get up at 6. I just keep looking at the clock and seeing the chances of any more sleep tick silently away. Grandma coming to the rescue tomorrow though so should get a rest in the day. Starting to get the eye stinging, hurt all over feeling. Hope all your LOs are fast asleep. X

Ameybee · 19/11/2012 06:49

I want more sleep! Really want baby bee to go back down after an epic transfer fail at 530 - took me ages to settle him and now we are up again - feeding him back to sleep now, I know its not the done thing but I'm too tired!
X
