A brand spanking new thread for midnight ramblings, chocolate covered pretzels and so much more Grin

OP posts:
MrsNPattz · 18/11/2012 02:24

First feed here so we got 3.5 hours. I could really do with a 12 hour sleep but I just saw a pig fly over there so am being happy with my lot Grin

This thread has quietened down a lot recently - hope goat and kid are ok! And babylon and anyone else I have missed who hasn't posted for a while.

Yes I can imagine that feeling never goes away - better get used to it!

TeaandHobnobs · 18/11/2012 02:53

Evening all Smile

Well, after 2.5 months of complaining, I can finally see DS' bottom front two teeth brewing in the gum! Fingers crossed they are going to be out soon and DS will settle a bit (we are still on 2 hourly wakings Sad).

Haven't seen Babylon and Minipopsmum for a bit? Hope they are ok.

I hope all our newcomers are doing ok, especially those with brand new arrivals - stick with this gang, they will see you through the tough nights Smile

I think DS has fallen asleep on the boob - transfer time! Grin

daisychain76 · 18/11/2012 02:59

Oh 12 hours would be bliss! 1st feed here since around 10 30 but he had ebm annd formula with dh inbetween too. I sat watching Friday Night Dinner before going to bed ~ my fave programme (with Big Bang Theory) at the mo ~ they keep me sane when l am shattered Smile

seabuckthorn · 18/11/2012 04:04

Hello, can I join you?
Feeding 3 day old DS, currently every 2.5 hours. He's taking about 1.5 ounces so we are slowly getting up to 3!
I'm in utter agony with piles Blush germaloid and paracetamol isn't touching the pain! Hoping a trip to the GP on Mon will fix it. Trying not to get my hopes up about a magical cure!
I would feel fine if it wasn't for this Sad

daisychain76 · 18/11/2012 04:07

Aargh, just got him down and he is moaning and groaning as if he is full of wind and hiccupping too. Spent about 30 mins winding him already Sad

Smallgreenone · 18/11/2012 04:13

First feed here but DH has been up with him with a bottle of ebm. Can't believe he will be 12 weeks old tomorrow, I don't know where the time is going. This little guy is going to be grown up before I've even realised!
Glad tour bedside crib is working a bit for you funch. I wish we'd got one of those for when he was smaller but I was too mean having already bought a ridiculously expensive Moses basket rather than a perfectly good cheaper one! I got so carried away with naby things and now I look back he was only in that basket for such a short space of time it really was a ridiculous price especially as he preferred to sleep on me or DH! Oh well it's upstairs now waiting for the next infant if there is to be another which I hope there is- just not for a while!!!
Going to try a transfer......

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 18/11/2012 04:22

I've lost track of this thread but I will go back s few pages and have a read.

We've managed to express milk for a feed and DS will take the bottle now which is good. Thought we had solved the latch problem but my nipples are very pink and sore. Had a great night last night as he fed at 10 then 1 then 6am! Tonight he was fed at 10 then 1 by Dh in a bottle of expressed milk and we are feeding again. My poor nipples feel chewed!!

Have just changed nappy and he has the hiccups and is wide awake :( I've got DH to make me a bed on the couch so I can lie down here when baby eventually falls asleep. Not likely any time soon!!!

Twobuttonsaway · 18/11/2012 04:29

Ooooooo last post was several hours ago, are we too tired or have we cracked it tonight!! This is baby buttons second feed tonight, he went from about 9pm till 2am, and went straight back down again but now on again 2 hours later, he woke me up with the sound of pooing effort!! How can poo so runny need so much straining?! (sorry TMI).

Have a good Sunday all. Sweet dreams

Twobuttonsaway · 18/11/2012 04:30

Agh I now see my phone was kidding me that you were all asleep!

funchum8am · 18/11/2012 04:36

Hi and welcome seabuckthorn and congratulations on your new baby. Mine is 6 weeks and I still remember the feeding frenzied, sleepless fog of the first few nights...it does improve quickly honest!

I had pretty nasty piles too from over 2 hours of pushing. It is nasty at first but the pain did improve and things are completely manageable now..definitely see the gp and keep going back if no improvement. I sympathise!

Babyfunch is feeding obsessively again - is it true that growth spurts include a bit where they sleep loads??

Twobuttonsaway · 18/11/2012 04:36

And welcome and congrats to seabuckthorn. Highly recommend Boots long lasting 12 hour ibuprofen alongside the paracetamol - brufen is good for bringing down inflammation and swelling - I swore by it in the early days. Hope feel better soon.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 18/11/2012 04:53

Ds is wide wide awake. I want to sleep but won't until he is :(

Susieloo · 18/11/2012 05:02

3rd feed of the night and babyloo is looking a bit too awake for my liking!!!

MiniPopsMum2012 · 18/11/2012 05:04

Morning lovely ladies waves

hello to everyone new, haven't been on for a few days as we've had three nights of sleeping through, which has been much needed for the bags under my eyes :)

This thread isn't moving as quickly so I am hoping that's because other babies are getting more sleep?

tea glad teeth have finally been spotted!

daisy I love big bang theory too, the Lord of the Rings episode is hilarious no matter how many times I have seen it

small I am thinking of going to buggy fit, do you recommend.?

I haven't caught up with all the posts (again, sorry!) and I've only got 7 minutes left before I can get back into bed.

Sending you sleepy mouse dust and amaretto lattes with chocolate wafer biscuits. Xxx

MiniPopsMum2012 · 18/11/2012 05:08

Hey marblesd, and hey MrsN how are your bubbas doing.?

Oooh susieloo hope LO goes back to sleep for you, how are you doing? :)

good luck Izzy hope you're LO goes back to sleep very shortly

Ameybee · 18/11/2012 05:12

Ooh jealous mini pops! Sleeping through - cannot imagine how that feels! We are on err 4th feed (I think - lost track!)

Let's hope for a 3 hour now - please!! X

blonderthanred · 18/11/2012 05:32

Daisy love Friday Night Dinner and BBT, luckily they always seems to be on repeat! DS is very surprised when I giggle mid-feed though.

He is a bit snuffly tonight, and as usual we're struggling to settle him. Last couple of hrs he's had 3 feeds and each time dropped off to sleep but as soon as we lay him down the eyes (and mouth) open again. This is usually the time we can get him to sleep for a good few hrs but I am not sure it is going to happen. Just hope he doesn't get a proper cold.

minipops wow sleeping through... How old is your LO? Smile

Susieloo · 18/11/2012 05:33

Hello minipopSmile yay for the sleeping through!!! Amaretto lattes sound immense, I had a salted caramel latte from Starbucks last week and I'm hooked, if I could work out a way of transporting one in the pram I would happily walk the twenty minutes into town to buy one, not sure if Starbucks do those paper cup holders, probably wouldn't be strong enough to stop it falling over anyway, really want one now ...........

We are still awake obviously but babyloo getting sleepy thank goodness.

Dp and I walking to Morrisons tomorrow to pick up some roast dinner supplies and dp is cooking so a lovely day for us.

Smallgreenone · 18/11/2012 06:30

minipops hi and Grin for 3 nights of sleeping through! I am a bit Envy though, I thought we were nearly there with our 6 hour stretch from 7 but last night proved me wrong and we are back to normal!
I would recommend buggyfit yes. I really enjoyed it and will go again this week as I felt so much better for going some excersise.
susieloo I am totally with you on the salted caramel latte addiction Grin I tried one on Thursday and had to go back on Friday for another and will probably go today- aaaaaargh! Also in my cupboards are those hestons mince pies and mini stollen bites. I love Christmas treats but it is not helping me lose weight! I do only have 3lb to go to be pre pregnancy weight but I'd like to lose 6 if I can (which clearly I can't!!!)
Anyway think we are up now as baby small is smiling and being ultra cute so I can't resist playing with him. Happy Sundays all.

MrsNPattz · 18/11/2012 07:46

Second feed here and another sleep afterwards would be lovely little man!! I woke up to a sore very leaky boob! So hoping he has drained it.

Just after I wrote that he had a poonami and I had to change him so it has taken me about half an hour to write this post haha

sebuckthorn welcome! Congratulations and I hope the piles clears up soon - ouch Sad

mini that's brilliant that you have had 3 full nights - Yey Smile baby Pattz is fine thank you it's just me that's the emotional wreck lol Grin

Hi funch and small and daisy and two!

MrsNPattz · 18/11/2012 07:46

And hi izzy, tea and amey Smile

MrsNPattz · 18/11/2012 07:49

And hi susie Smile hope I haven't missed anyone else who has posted lol

MrsNPattz · 18/11/2012 07:50

Sorry blonder I missed you - hi! I am going now........

Smicha · 18/11/2012 09:13

I love Big Bang Theory! So much so we are naming ds's toys after the characters Grin
Raj the dinosaur is my favourite!

Good night for me and ds as we co-slept all night. Really can't work out if I should continue with this and get great sleep, or be a bit more disciplined and put him back in his cot after each feed, but then that also involves a good half hour of shushing and listening to Ewan... Don't know what is best! Ds is 8 weeks, any advice?

Smicha · 18/11/2012 09:18

Also small would you recommend buggy fit as I'm planning to go to one on Tuesday?
