Where u from turquoise?

We were the same we had a computer early on but no games consoles until mid/ late 90's & no tv in bedrooms. I'm going to try and limit baby J & technology but with the amount that is around its going to be hard

TurquoiseFrankenCat · 29/10/2012 06:07

I'm currently in Leicester. My whole family is from Leeds, but they bloody moved down south to have me [hangry]. Spiritual home is Leeds though! and not dirty rubbish Leicester

Crap. Transfer time (please please please more sleep).

MrsNPattz · 29/10/2012 06:07

Second feed here - he has only taken 5 minutes worth and fallen asleep! Hoping this means I can have some more sleep!

It's going to be a very quiet Monday for us consisting of watching rubbish tv and snuggling on the sofa [hgrin]

Evilwater · 29/10/2012 06:10

Morning ladies, I've just done the first feed of the night. Whopp!! From 2300-0530
I hope you all had a good kip inbetween the feeds.
I kept him awake from 18-2200, ant it tired him out. Making sure he slept.

MummyVicky18 · 29/10/2012 06:12

I'm from near Sheffield turquoise

Smallgreenone · 29/10/2012 06:31

Only just caught up! Too tired earlier to post. That lovely poem made me all emotional and didnt want to put baby small down!!! He's got my cold I think so is a bit of a snot monster and has been waking himself up because of it. Twice though Ewan has worked without me having to pick him up Grin infortunately three times he hasn't worked Sad.
We had a spectrum too! I remember waiting for those games to load, they used to make that funny noise. I plan to limit technology and tv too as I am a big meany of a mother and want my babies to play outside and talk to people and not be mute computer addicts! I'm sure I will have a big big struggle with this!!
We are going to get baby small weighed today, can't wait, I reckon he is enormous!!!
Off now to check the news as my friend lives in New York and was evacuated yesterday. Hope everyone gets back to sleep for a bit.

MrsNPattz · 29/10/2012 07:19

That's a great sleep evil!

Hope your friend is ok small, how awful.

Feeding again here, hopefully not up time just yet though!

TeaandHobnobs · 29/10/2012 08:09

Morning everyone [hsmile]

Not the best night from DS but I think he fed twice and I had to just settle him twice with teething gel and his dummy. But no calpol, so that's progress! Second feed I just rolled over and plonked him on the boob, didn't have the energy to sit up!

I had horrible nightmares though [hsad] including one where DH and I travelled all the way to the Netherlands before realising we had left DS at home with no one to feed him and look after him [hsad] [hsad] [hsad] really horrible

I think today will be a purée making and packing away day [hsmile]

Sorry about the row MrsN, it is really tough isn't it?

Waves at valium

Thanks funch these little mites make you worry over everything [hgrin]

Wow evil that's great! You must be feeling pretty pleased with that

BabyN went another 3 hours between feeds [hgrin] I'm over the moon and actually feel human!

We've got a busy day today, going to register little one and hopefully pop in a few shops while we're out then I've got my family coming round which will be lovely but I don't want LO to be passed around like a game of pass the parcel then refuse to settle for me later which has happened a couple of times

Hope everyone had some good sleep

Smicha · 29/10/2012 09:03

Wow evil that's amazing, lucky you!

We had an awful night, up every hour for a short feed and refusing to take anything more and lots of crying. Very out of character. Think he's in a huff from the bottle we tried to give him before bed! Either that or it's because grandparents have mollycoddled him for two days and he's all out of sorts - nervous I agree that too much passing around and being allowed to sleep all day in someone's arms makes for a very difficult night!

Still in bed, drinking tea and watching tv on the iPlayer. Don't plan to get up for hours! Ds is snoozing on top of the covers and I'm happy to leave him for a while as he's not grizzly and crying!

Evilwater · 29/10/2012 09:17

Nervous and simcha- it was surgested on MN somewhere, and my mum also recommended it.

My mum said when he is sleeping most days during the weeks is to extend his waking time by half an hour till he sleeps a good amount during night hours.

I'd love to wait till a better age, but at the beginning of July I have to go back to work. I've asked at the ward I work on, if they can give me set hours, the answer is no.
Before you all jump at DP, he is self employed and is studying for his degree, it's his final year.

ValiumQueen · 29/10/2012 10:42

What a lovely thread. I am so glad I found you. I am very swollen at the moment so could not tolerate sitting in the nursery for feeds, and struggled to even lift the little prince. I had to feed him in bed, and even that got too much. Again he slept with us, but this time I got sleep too. I hate co-sleeping as I always think I have squished him when I wake. I feel much better for a bit of sleep though, and my milk is now in properly so I know it will get easier.

Re gro bags and changing, I have always changed baby (when small) after they have fed at night. If they are fully fed up to the gills this will not disturb them much, and if still not full, they will wake so you can complete the milky-drunken-bum-ness and get a slightly longer sleep. Mine slept through from 6 and 7 weeks, so it worked for me.

I am enjoying every cuddle as that poem is so true. With DD1 I was all for a routine. With DD2 I did not cuddle outside feeds as DD1 was not a happy bunny. With this one, I am cuddling my baby. I don't care about any rod.

I hope to join you tonight Smile

MrsNPattz · 29/10/2012 12:26

It really is a lovely thread valium - glad you can join us but sorry you are sore! Not nice [hsad]

I started writing thank you cards today - what fun [hgrin]

missingmymarbles · 29/10/2012 16:33

Haha Turquoise! I live in dirty rubbish Leicester too but am not from here.

MrsNPattz · 29/10/2012 18:38

I got my first smile today [hsmile][hsmile][hsmile]

Susieloo · 29/10/2012 18:54

Yay mrs [hgrin] I love the smiley face you get.

tea and babylon and mini and all the other mums on here who have experienced teething can you tell me if this sounds like babyloo might be starting in earnest? His left cheek is very red, he is very dribbly and seems to be chewing his mouth, we gave him some calpol earlier which is the first full dose he has had and within twenty minutes he was inconsolably crying, his little chest was heaving and it was heartbreaking, I panicked it was a reaction to the calpol but he calmed down after about twenty mins, he chews his hands but does this anyway and pulls on his ear but he does this when he's tired. Does this sound like teething? He's also made my left nipple really sore so not sure if he's latching differently because his mouth feels different to him, sorry to bombard you but just wondered if this sounds like teething?

I'm doing last feed before bed but could be in for a very long night and its my first kit day at work tomorrow, feel really horrible leaving him with dm when he's not great on a bottle and now his teeth might be hurtingSad

Smallgreenone · 29/10/2012 19:04

Yay mrsn the smiles are lovely aren't they, makes all those sleepless nights worth it.
Sorry susieloo I know nothing about teething so can't help. Baby small is already having a bad night too, won't feed properly, keeps crying and falls asleep but not for long enough to be put down and then wakes hungry again [hconfused]. Help anyone?

Evilwater · 29/10/2012 19:58

My DP is having alot of trouble with the lack of sleep, and all the crying.
Do any of you ladies have any tips??

Evil

TeaandHobnobs · 29/10/2012 20:11

susieloo red cheek, dribbling and chomping all sound very teething-like to me, but it doesn't sound good that he was so inconsolable only 20 mins after the calpol [hconfused]

If his ear pulling is his usual tired thing, fine, but be vigilant for ear infection.

Hope he settles now - poor little thing [hsad]

daisychain76 · 29/10/2012 20:28

Evil sounds like you got a decent sleep last night, that?s great. Also lovely to get a smile mrsn. My dcs are convinced my Lo has been smiling since birth and l haven?t the heart to tell them so far its wind (they also swear he has already said his first word Smile.)

Sounds a bit like teething to me too susie. Have you tried anything like bonjela or nelsons teething powders to see if they help.

NervousAt20 · 29/10/2012 21:00

Yay mrsn first smile!!

TurquoiseFrankenCat · 29/10/2012 21:02

Waves at missing across the 'cultural quarter' FFS.

Been round the PILs for dinner [hsmile], but now BabyCat won't settle - may be overtired now which means it'll take a miracle to get her to sleep [hsad].

MiniPopsMum2012 · 29/10/2012 21:08

First smile - [hgrin] MRsN Awesome!

Susieloo sounds like it could be teething, does babyloo have reflux? as these are also all signs of reflux (and pulling at ear could be an ear infection). Have you put your finger/knuckle in the mouth? If I do that wit MiniPop he chomps right down on it like a dog with a bone... [hsmile]
Great sleep Evil and my DP wears earplugs and an eyemask to bed to help with the noise.

We had a bit of a nightmare last night due to the hand dryer incident yesterday, so was up at 3am, but things seem to have settled back down today, so fingers crossed for a better night.

MrsNPattz · 29/10/2012 21:47

Thanks guys - really chuffed, proud mummy [hsmile]

A worried mummy too - anyone else paranoid about whooping cough? I'm taking little fella to the drs tomorrow as I just can't get it out of my mind. He has had a dry cough on and off for a week or two now, is sneezing and has a stuffy/blocked nose. Even if it's just to put my own mind at rest, I would rather the dr check him over and get their advice.

I'm hoping he will go down soon, he has had a feed and is now being rocked by daddy. We are trying to talk things over after last night but it's not easy. Especially when the subject is his parents [hconfused]

Hope we all have good nights, and if we don't - I hope you all have good snacks Biscuit

Evilwater · 29/10/2012 22:02

One feed done, here is hoping for another good night.
