BabylonPI · 19/10/2012 11:13

I dream feed around 11 and DS will be 6mth next Friday!! Smile

Susieloo · 19/10/2012 12:04

mrsn my username is very unimaginatively my name pretty much!! I had to think of one quickly when I joined mumsnet at about five am to post a thread asking for advice on a uti I had in pregnancy and just used the name my friends call me (real name is Susanna Louise so susieloo for short)Smile

Smicha · 19/10/2012 12:38

Hi all...anyone had mastitis? Any tips on making it less painful?! Mini smich slept really well last night, but I started getting a sore boob just before I went to bed, then woke up this morning and thought I had the flu!! Dr Google (and kellymom) have convinced me that these are the signs of mastitis Sad I'm going to try and self treat it as my gp is useless I don't feel like dragging ds to the surgery in the rain while I feel dizzy and my head is pounding and most sites give advice for self treatment - I've been expressing all morning and drinking tonnes of fluids so hope that will help!

Hope you're all wide awake and feeling good today. Enjoy your hols marbles

Loislane78 · 19/10/2012 13:39

smicha poor you :( I've not had it but with it being the weekend I wonder if you should call the GP for a prescription of antibiotics just in case? My surgery let you speak with the GP and just leave prescriptions at reception. Still means someone has to pick it up...

Hope you self treat or whatever and it gets better Flowers

TeaandHobnobs · 19/10/2012 14:03

Oh no Smicha, I've not had it myself but that really does sound like mastitis, and you really need to get some anti-bs quickly or you will be feeling like hell (if you don't already!). If you can't get to your GP today, is there a walk in service near you? Otherwise I fear you may end up at the out of hours doc this weekend Sad

Smicha · 19/10/2012 14:35

Thanks for pushing me to take action! I was being a bit of an idiot because I felt too ill to move, but you're right, it will only get worse! Going to gp in an hour.

MrsNPattz · 19/10/2012 16:28

Poor smicha hope you get some antibiotics and feel better soon! Biscuit

BabylonPI · 19/10/2012 16:41

My username is also very boring! I stole it off DH who has been nicknamed Babylon since he was at school.Grin

I've been Babylon on every chat thing I've ever been on for the last 13 years maybe I could do with an update BlushGrinWink

missingmymarbles · 19/10/2012 17:30

I was a different username on mn for a long time but had rather a serious outing which meant I needed to change it because I like my anonymity, and so I've been a few names since and I haven't like any of them so much. But just before I found out I was pregnant this time I rather tongue-in-cheek made a comment about having lost my marbles and was missing my sanity Grin

MrsNPattz · 19/10/2012 19:06

Love hearing about your user names Smile

TeaandHobnobs · 19/10/2012 19:12

Mine is very boring - I just really like tea and hobnobs! Grin (chocolate of course)

BabylonPI · 19/10/2012 19:17

Well I'm taking a different tack tonight.

DS had carrots and petits filous for tea at 5pm. He's been awake since 3pm and has played a lot. He's just had a mad thrash about in the bath and he's so tired!

He's now feeding and I'm going to do my best to put him into his crib after this feed and see if he sleeps well.

I'll dream feed him about 11 and take it from there, but if it works, this will be the beginning of our routine from now on Smile

I'm a bit Sad about leaving him in his crib though Sad

Susieloo · 19/10/2012 19:22

Babyloo is seemingly asleep so not sure how long he will settle for, it's very early for him and he had a mammoth 3 hour nap today, perhaps he is going to catch up on all his sleep and do some 5 hour stretchesGrin

He's just woken up as I'm typing this!!

He is also now not only refusing bottles but also my left boob a lot of the time so I'm having to express which means lots of lovely milk that he won't drink, I shall save it for weaning!!

How did you get on at the gp smicha?

Hope your okay minipop

I'm liking finding out about everyone's username tooGrin

Hope everyone has a good nightSmile I'm looking forward to an hour and a half a downtime with dp then bed.

missingmymarbles · 19/10/2012 19:29

Poo question: Missmarbles used to go about once a week but it has steadily increased to twice a day (although today it's been every nappy Hmm) perhaps a little runnier than normal today. Is if normal for their habit to change? She's happy and healthy otherwise.

She had a tiny nap this morning then fought her second nap til she had a monster paddy (have never heard her make a noise like it) fell asleep in my arms for about 2 1/2 hours (was a bit stressed by the whole thing myself, so kept her in my arms; not normally a stress head) and woke up right as rain. She's tired now, so am really hoping fir a good sleep tonight. I think the naps were probably squggered by over tiredness as a result of last night's shenanigans. I do wonder if she's teething, what with the feeding, today's paddy and increased poos today.

Thinking about applying for a new job. Don't really want to go back to work at all of I'm honest, but unfortunately that isn't an option for me, and I certainly don't want to go back to my current department. There's a job come up which I really like the sound of and I have the experience but this job is two grades above my current one and they want someone with experience at the grade in between which makes sense. I haven't had the role in the in-between grade, but have the practical experience if that makes sense. Would love it (given I have to work), better hours, better pay. Would hate it because I am crap at bring new and confidence takes a nose dive for a while til I find my feet, and would crap myself more initially because I would believe myself unworthy of such an ascension!

Have loads to do for holibobs tomorrow. Hope we all have decent sleeps. Sorry for self indulgent post. Hope everyone has had a good day.

MrsNPattz · 19/10/2012 19:54

I am on my own tonight - hubby on his first night out since little man was born. Luckily he has had a poop today (little one not hubby Grin) so am hoping for an okish night, but we shall see!

Was watching stand up to cancer but had to switch over when they started with real life stories because things like that make me think I have all sorts of horrible things.

My mum comes tomorrow - yippee Smile

Smallgreenone · 19/10/2012 20:13

My username is because my name is olive and they are green and I'm quite little so a small green one!
Baby small has not napped well and has now been awake since 4. Have tried putting him down twice but he has screamed both times. Currently sat in the dark with him waiting for a good opportunity to try again. Ewan appears to have deserted us!
Have a lovely holiday marbles

Smicha · 19/10/2012 20:26

My user name is a combination of my initial and then part of my surname...Bit rubbish really but like Susie I had to come up with something quickly to post in the pregnancy forum!

Went to gp and it's definitely mastitis, so I have antibiotics. Thanks again tea and lois as I really did need that push to take action! I also have a fever and clearly looked like I was about to pass out as the gp dispensed the antibiotics from the surgery so I didn't have to go to the pharmacy as she was concerned I might not make it there! I've never known them to do that before! I must look like death warmed up!

Ds has been asleep for a while and so I caught up on some zzzzs and am feeling a bit less rough! Think it will be a long night though as I have to empty the sore breast at least once every 2 hours. Bleurgh. On the plus side, I'm getting the hang of expressing as I'd never done it before today!

Dh is making me lovely food though and as it's the weekend he will be on nighttime nappy duty...Yey!

Goatbongosanonymous · 19/10/2012 20:40

Ouch smicha hope the gp was able to sort the mastitis -really not fun for you.

Tea you are absolutely right about the long newborn phase in a prem... Although Kid has just started to smile, so the cuteness mode will keep me going a little longer!

Good luck with the new routine, Babylon

Marbles the work situation sounds like a challenge to think about - maybe do go for the new job if you feel you could do it, otherwise you might think 'what if' later. Good luck anyway!

My user name comes from me playing bodhran (Irish drum).

How are you doing minipop ?

Goatbongosanonymous · 19/10/2012 20:44

X post - glad it's on the war to being sorted, smicha

small I have a feeling that Ewan works strictly to contract and there's some small print we have overlooked...

Loislane78 · 19/10/2012 20:44

Glad you got the drugs smicha, hope its not too painful.

Well, LO had a monster 3 hr nap in her basket this morning (unheard of) and I'm gutted I didn't nap as well. Since she v rarely does that unless in the pram, i was thinking she'll be awake soon so I'll just do this, and then that, and then surely she'll wake up soon so no point now etc.... Ah well :)

Clumsasaurus · 19/10/2012 21:18

Sorry I've been off the radar. DS had a great sleep last night 10:30-8:30 just waking for a quick feed at 4. However that seems to have meant he hasn't slept at all today and is SO over tired - not fun

smicha so sorry to hear you are poorly, I hope the anti b's kick in soon

My username comes from DH calling me a 'clumsasaurus' onccle in the middle of the night when I knocked something over!

Do you think Ewan is unionised and on strike for better pay and conditions?

MrsNPattz · 19/10/2012 21:33

I have a hungry boy tonight - fed at 7, 8 and now. He has also had 2 poops today - unheard of. Just hope the hourly feeds don't continue through the night Confused

BabylonPI · 19/10/2012 22:02

So far so good Smile

DS has slept in his crib from 7.30 - we've just come up and I'm dream feeding him now as I disturbed him and didn't want him to wake up properly Smile

Ewan seems happy enough with his pay and conditions here Confused Wink

MummyVicky18 · 19/10/2012 22:03

Hi all,

My username is not imaginative at all lol as you all can see Smile
Had a hard day today but baby J is currently sleeping went down at 8.30/9 ish and as always I have my fingers crossed that he sleeps until at least 2am but his usual has been 11pm then 2am. But u can dream.

Right off to bed, just had my lemsip.
Hope the mastitis disappears as quickly as it came Hun xx

milkymocha · 19/10/2012 22:07

My username comes from My children (both my DPs biological children) being born with different skin tones.
My eldest is very milky white like me (irish and pasty!) and my youngest has beautiful olive gypsy skin like his father!

Is not a coffee reference Grin
