I posted a few days ago and got lots of lovely posts reminding me why BFing my 19 month old DD is a good thing. However, after another shite night totalling 3 hours sleep I am at the end of my tether -I haven't had more than a handful of nights with more than 4 or 5 hours undisturbed sleep for five years now and I am miserable, grumpy, overweight, run down and a crap mother as a result.

DH is off this weekend so I'm planning to leave him to it for 3 nights. After that he is working nights so I'll just have to tough it out by myself.

She can sleep without a BF but prefers to feed to sleep. I'm thinking of just camping out in the chair next to her cot . And for naps either doing the same or going out in the pushchair. How does that sound?

She's entered a seriously tantrummy stage so I am terrified but I have to do this now - can't go on.

No, there's no set time. She's hard to resettle so I'm loathe to do CC in case she's uncomfortable - nights like tonight I know for sure she's not right. If she was waking from habit she'd go back to sleep quickly and easily once she realised there's nothing to wake for, surely. Plus, she often stirs and cries while she's eventually drifting off (like now).

How's it going now ohbugrit?

Well I'm loathe to say anything BUT she has randomly slept through the last three nights, amazing! No reason or explanation for it but who cares?!

Sorry late to thread but hope it continues for you.

Ds2 woke every two hours for feed for over a year. One day I said to DP, that's it, I can't do this anymore, so we prepared ourselves for night weaning.

That night he slept 13hrs and has done since.

Little buggers these children aren't they? Grin

Will keep fingers crossed for you.

Yay! Obviously it won't last (just saying that so I don't jinx it btw).

Really hope you have got some sleep and are coming through the - how come I feel dreadful when I slept more phase.

She woke at 10 and now she's been up since 4 ... should've kept my mouth shut!
