Hey ladies, here's a shiny new thread for us to discuss, query, whinge about and rejoice our high-need bubs!

Pretty bad night last night, bleeding exhausted. Can see why so many of you co-sleep. We haven't gone down that route, but it's never looked so attractive...

Gawd, grizzly DS. Poor tooths. Hope you have had a decent night!

Mampig · 15/03/2012 18:40

Me too me too!!!! My speciality is mint aero cheese cake, chocolate fudge cake, banoffee, and for actual food... Potato and leek soup. So can I come tooGrin.

So had a word with dh, and things have settled for now, but it'll grumble away at 4 am. Arse!!! (loved that !!!)

Mampig · 15/03/2012 18:41

Oh, can someone tell me if there is growth spurt or dev leap at 8.5/9 months- thought I read that somewhere??

QueenKong · 15/03/2012 18:47

Woah, hold the phone.... Mint Aero Cheesecake you say? Recipe pleeeeaaaase!

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 15/03/2012 18:56

Haha, I love this. Are we now the high need DP/H, recipe sharing commune quiche?

buttonmoon78 · 15/03/2012 19:00

Spanner we have an inhaler but it's the devil's own work getting the mask anywhere near him! I try several times an hour a day but he's having none of it and it distresses him so much that the result is a crying/coughing fit which makes his breathing worse than it was to begin with. Argh.

I was deleted on the thread in AIBU about suing your mum if you were not bf and were suffering from things which bf could prevent/help. I gave out my first biscuit (as in no comment way not greedful way!) and told the OP to fuck off (again for the first time). It was not a personal attack and I've seen far worse stay so I'm mystified!

Mampig I bet you can say it in the proper Irish way too. I love it when my BiL does that. Arse!

SpannerPants · 15/03/2012 19:32

Mampig I believe there is a 9 month sleep regression - when babies tend to practise crawling/pulling up/rolling in the middle of the night. I hope it isn't as bad as the 4 month one which lasted for 12 weeks for DS

Can I have the mint aero cheesecake recipe too? It sounds amazing!

Mampig · 15/03/2012 19:44

Mmm, the recipe... Don't really want it all over web, so I'd have to pm you all! I will but my pc is trying to repair itself at the minuteConfused, so could be a few days all depending on if it needs sent off for repair!!! Good things come ... And all thatSmile ( for everything it seemsHmm). Oh but the recipe is sooo simple and easy. Och, I've changed my mind- ill post here but it'll gave to wait till later on....Grin

Mampig · 15/03/2012 19:44

have to waitSmile

LittleWaveyLines · 15/03/2012 19:49

My specialities are flapjacks, crumble and very alcoholic tiramisu..... am I in? Grin

Button Hope your DS gets better soon,

......and may I ask a baby eczema (sp?) question? My DD has had red scratchy marks behind her knees for a couple of weeks, an d they are not getting better. I've put bottom butter, and weleda nappy cream on, but no effect. It coincided with me and her eating dairy again.... if it is eczema, would she be always scratching it, as it doesn't seem to bother her?

Alternative thought that it is where the edge of the sling goes, so I might be tying the wrap too tight...?

buttonmoon78 · 15/03/2012 19:53

Not necessarily. Try a proper moisturiser like E45, doublebase, Aveeno etc. Or try wrapping the sling a little looser. Don't try both at once or you'll end up wondering which helped!

Perfect spelling of eczema though Wink

tickleme63 · 15/03/2012 19:53

Can I join? I make a kick-ass casserole, oooh and Mars Bar cheesecake...

OP posts:
buttonmoon78 · 15/03/2012 19:54

Am having a glass or two of wine tonight. Have just been puked on for the third time today - as in full feed of 5-7oz. Every time he eats he brings it all back again trying to clear his chest.

Gah. Am fed up of smelling of puke!

LittleWaveyLines · 15/03/2012 20:03

Thanks Button - might take her to the GP if it doesn't go in a week or so... will try using the mei tai more as well - oh and can I get a gold star for guessing the spelling correctly? Grin

Poor vomitty Button boy :(

LittleWaveyLines · 15/03/2012 20:05

Hmmm Mars bar cheesecake drool Grin

Mampig · 15/03/2012 20:09

Mmm, anything with alcohol gets my vote!! Fwiw my dc1 had mild eczema on back of knees and elbow joints, and it didn't bother him at all, so it could beSad. I used doublebase cream and bath oil ( can't remember name) , but it worked well I think because it was mild case.

Now, cheesecakeGrin
Use a cheesecake tin with clip for easy removal.
1 can condensed milk 397ml ( Nestlé, unfortunately)
2 tubs full fat Philadelphia ( or supermarket similar)- not the small size
1 carton double cream ( the med size one) (284 ml) I use elmlea.

1 large packet digestive biscuits for base
Half packet butter for base.

1 large mint aero or 4 smaller bars( more if you wish!)

Make base in usual way with crushed biscuits and melted butter.

Put the milk, Philly, cream into a big bowl and whisk with electric whisk until it reaches consistency of really thick whipped cream. You can't really over whisk, but if u under whisk it won't set.

Finely chop the mint aero and whisk well into mixture et viola!! Add mixture to base , cover with foil, and put in fridge overnight.

The only prob you might have is with consistency, but a little practice should get this right. EnjoyGrinGrin

buttonmoon78 · 15/03/2012 20:13

Yum. Sounds like my key lime pie recipe. That's lush too Grin

Bath oil might be Oilatum. That's good but don't bother with the dosage that's recommended. A good slosh is what's required Smile

SpannerPants · 15/03/2012 20:18

my DS has eczema on his face which only started when he had dairy for the first time. I kept him off dairy last week because I thought it was upsetting his tummy (turned out the mega farts was due to too much fruit in the evening) and it cleared up completely. Oh well, it doesn't bother him and he loves petit filous!

LittleWaveyLines · 15/03/2012 20:45

Thanks you wonderful quiche Grin

Right now wish me luck - I'm going to attempt to slide DD off my lap and go downstairs to make a cuppa... she has woken 3 times already since her 7pm bedtime... and the last few nights I haven't even bothered trying to escape ;(

Feel so fucking trapped by her sometimes, and resentful, but I do love her, I'm just a bit of a crap mother sometimes :(

DP is out on a works do as well... so I'm feeling sorry for myself really

Mampig · 15/03/2012 20:52

One word: chocolate.
That is all.

tickleme63 · 15/03/2012 21:17

LWL Hugs to you and good luck. You're not a crap mother by any stretch of the imagination. You're meeting her needs and you should feel proud. We all, I'm sure, feel resentment and frustration. We're only human.

LittleWaveyLines · 15/03/2012 21:32

And I'm back upstairs.... she manged almost half an hour without me, so it's an improvement I suppose

Thanks tickle...

SpannerPants · 15/03/2012 21:32

LWL you're not a crap mother. You're a wonderful mother for being so patient and devoted to meeting your DD's needs.

In a couple of years time when we all have wonderfully bright and independent toddlers, we will barely remember this time!

LittleWaveyLines · 15/03/2012 21:33

This too will pass :)

QueenKong · 15/03/2012 21:48

Mine has just woken for the third time since 7pm too LWL. You are not alone. Smile
