Where's the 'oddest' place you've breastfed?

I'm not trying to imply that bf-ing anywhere is in itself wrong or odd in the bad sense, because it definitely isn't. I just wondered if anyone would share, in a light-hearted way, unusual places they've fed their DCs.

For me, probably would have to be Specsavers (during an eye-test) or DD2 whilst sat on a bouncy castle (was supervising DD1 at the time).

ringside at Crufts.

In an aquarium when DS was 9 weeks old

He got hungry just as I got there so I go to watch the fishies while he fed. He then slept all the way round while we took amusing pictures of him in his pram beside sea creatures...

Sitting on a gravestone in an empty church graveyard.

I'd been out for a walk with tiny DD when she demanded feeding .

Veg aisle in Asda.

Gondola in Venice.

On a haystack

MathsMadMummy · 16/07/2010 13:49

morloth wins so far, that is so classy!

I've mostly fed in various restaurants, trains, blah blah blah. nothing interesting really.

though I did feed DS while we were registering his birth! the registrar was really nice about it

Dewsbury Beer Festival

MathsMadMummy · 16/07/2010 13:51

strangely though the only place I've ever felt weird BFing was on my very open front lawn the other week. possibly because wriggly DS decided to lift my top up exposing my enormous boob!

neverquitesure · 16/07/2010 15:10

I've surprised myself by happily bfing pretty much everywhere (was really nervous to bf in public at first!), but nowhere really odd. Yet

That said, it still feels really odd to bf when my fil is in the room!

at work, in a directorate meeting
DD burped in the middle of the director's speech
watching the rays at the sea life centre

The side of the M4, in the pouring rain, in November, after the car broke down

spiderlight · 16/07/2010 15:22

it woudl probably be quicker to give you a list of places I haven't breastfed. In a meeting with my financial adviser (this morning!); on the steps of Llandaff Cathedral; at the top of an unbelievably windy Roman hill-fort; in the middle of the stone circle at Avebury; about 5 feet away from a rhinoceros at Cotswold Wildlife Park...basically if it's cold, windy and exposed, I've probably been there with my boob out!

fedupwithdeployment · 16/07/2010 15:25

Top of a hill near Winchester in the snow.

And I threatened to do it in in the baggage drop off queue at Gatwick when the BA lady said I had to wait about 45 minutes - with hungry 3 month old and fidgetting 2 yo. Funnily enough, I didn't have to get my boobs out.

StealthPolarBear · 16/07/2010 15:26

Oh yes I fed all the way up to High Force
ALL THE WAY - it was the only way to keep her quiet. IN the snow.

Earhart · 16/07/2010 15:27

A Vegas Casino (but babies are not allowed near the slot machines or while gambling!).
In an Ikea display room on the sofa while the shoppers walked on by.
In a jeep on a safari.
Anywhere I go, the baby comes along and gets fed

RobynLou · 16/07/2010 15:28

I fed DD on stage whilst giving a theatre set I'd painted some finishing touches, while the lighting designer was trying out crazy lighting states. That one required the help of a sling....

WickedWitchSouthWest · 16/07/2010 15:28

The director's boardroom at Anfield dd had her bum changed on the table too.

NowWhatIsit · 16/07/2010 15:31

Lock broke on disabled toilet - so sitting on toilet floor while locked in with babe & toddler at Natural History Museum. Fun.

LtEveDallas · 16/07/2010 15:32

My brothers pub surrounded by his old and crusty regulars and in the back of an armoured personnel carrier at a regimental open day!

OnlyWantsOne · 16/07/2010 15:36

... on a plane en route to carribean with 9 month old DD... got some odd looks

whilst having tyres changed on my car, standing up in the garage - the mechanics were bemused as to where they were meant to look

however, the only place I ever recieved nasty comments were at my MIL's house... whilst feeding DD (at 2 weeks) bitch

cleanandclothed · 16/07/2010 15:41

Cable car in Hong Kong

eagerbeagle · 16/07/2010 16:14

On planes (several times), my cousin's wedding, back seat of a taxi (much to the horror of the driver). Front seat of a transit van (with DS still in his car seat - I have big norks).
