I need a gripping, totally in your face you can't put it down book!

Hi all

I'm being admitted to hospital for a few weeks and was looking for some books to take with me.

Nothing sad. I like stuff like "this is going to hurt" or a guilty pleasure something naughty and dramatic.

Any recommendations please x

I'm reading Big Little Lies by Lianne Moriarty. I have no idea what's going to happen to who but in a good way.
Not in a confused way whereby I think I've not read properly!

It's got me gripped anyway. I like her books.

I read both of these multiple times. I'm still not sure what makes them so good, but I've struggled to find anything else as good.

The detective lola Harris series by Daniel Sellers is brilliant and un-put-down-able. Murder in the Gallowgate and Murder in Lovers' Lane.

They are so well written and suspenseful I couldn't put them down at all! I think a third one is coming out soon.

My book club has just done Notes On An Execution - utterly brilliant. We all loved it and read it quickly. I found it unputdownable and was so absorbed. It's the best writing I've read in years.

Anything by Jean Christophe Grangé. The originals are in french but most are available in english. Je has his own way of looking at things. The first one I read was about negative near death experiences and I was reading until 2am to find a safe place to stop.

Oh yes, Elizabeth Haynes books are good. Into the Darkest Corner was a real page turner, read it years ago and remember passing it on to my sister!
