Jaysfourth My dd was breech for ages and I tried moxibustion which either worked a treat or just coincided exactly with her turning herself at 37 weeks. Had an ultrasound, and dr said he was now a believer in a practice he had previously considered as medically sound as witchcraft. It may not work, but it can't hurt to try. That's how I got out of an ECV; sorry I can't give advice about that.

LO has gone down very low today, but as I'm only 35+4 I'm expecting he'll disengage a number of times before the real thing. I understand that in subsequent labours one's contractions can make baby engage, so anyone who's worrying please don't think that labour is far off just because they're still floating around inside!

LMSS Sorry about your cat--hope he turns up soon.

Best wishes to everyone feeling crampy and showy! Hoping all goes well for you lucky ladies.

Jaysfourth · 30/07/2010 20:13

thanks for your thoughts and messages.

Vitapulchra, i read about moxibustion while i was searching through stuff on the web about EVC, i am willing to give anything a try, so will look more into it, thanks
Might also look at acupuncture and hypnotherapy..... who knows hey!

Vix, sounds like BH to me, they get stronger and stronger as the time goes by, till eventually they become regular ( rather than a bit here and there with no real pattern) when you find yourself not being able to talk through one, thats when you know its for real!!!

Neenz, defo get your ball out, its actually quite relaxing to sit and have a bounce

RIGHT BACK OFF TO GET ON ALL FOURS

bouncingblueberries · 30/07/2010 20:40

Hi girls!

Who posted a link to nursing bras they lived in last time? They looked so comfy but I can't find the post and I want to order some - the nursing bras I bought while preggers are too small!!!

Will catch up on reading during the night feeds but a quick scan tells me we might be due some more babies????

xxx

bouncingblueberries · 30/07/2010 20:41

vix that is fantastic news!

girlsyearapart · 31/07/2010 08:35

morning all.

Where are all the babies???

We are doing ok bit tired and dds 1 and 2 being demanding in a toddler way..

Bfing going alright. Midwife suggested 30 mins bf followed by top up as she was on me for 1.5 hours and it's just not practical when the other two need me.

Managed to do my first ever public bf yesterday

Alicetheinvisible · 31/07/2010 09:14

Morning

Yay Vix!! that is great news!

Blueberries i think it was Chulita who linked to some bras. Hope all is going well, saw your pics on FB, gorgeous!

Girls well done! I never BF in public, could never get the hang of it in private! Do your DD's like the baby?

I ordered a book off Amazon after seeing it recomended on MN here about going from one to two children. I think it seems quite useful and definitely worth a read.

Keep getting cramps and more BH, but i think it is due mostly down to constipation. Trying to drink more water and DD and i are off to the market later to stock up on fruit

This baby is not allowed to come til next week anyway. 9 days til due date

cazzybabs · 31/07/2010 09:22

My stomach hurts today - its all achey

Am supposed to be writing a shopping list for dh but am uninspired as what to cook

Plus it is rainning - moan moan moan

Alicetheinvisible · 31/07/2010 09:29

Cazzy i looked out the window and Yay! at the rain (poor horses have no grass, hay is very expensive this year etc) but can understand why it would be rubbish for you and your dc on the summer hols. DD and i will go out puddle splashing later.

Are you doing any bulk cooking? Or just general weekly shop?

I am stocking up our freezer with shepherds pie, bolognese, lasagne, pasta sauces, sausage casserole, soup (if i get round to it) and frozen pizza and quiche. After DD was born we had a lot of stirfry with the bags of stirfry veg as it was so quick.

Is your baby allowed to come yet?

cazzybabs · 31/07/2010 09:47

Alice - my grass needs the rain too...so TBH I am quite pleased it is rainning

but I am very of your horses

This is just a weekly shop.

The baby can come now - although I have told it to hold on till Sept - ha ha!!!!

marzipananimal · 31/07/2010 09:48

cazzy one of my current favourite meals is chicken thai green curry. Quick to cook and yummy. Half a jar of tesco thai green curry paste, a tin of coconut milk, chicken and veg eg onions and peppers. Serves 4. You already have dcs though don't you? Not sure if it's the sort of thing young ones would like.

Alicetheinvisible · 31/07/2010 09:53

Cazzy i think i am getting close because i really want to start lunging them ready to be ridden as quickly as possible I think doing them is helping keep me sane atm.

weehector · 31/07/2010 11:30

Oh, come on...where are these announcements? Final call for July babies...

Good news, Vix you sound really happy.

I've just had a blow out of 2 rolls with yummy steak sausages for breakfast, my usual porridge or flakes just wasn't going to cut it this morning.

As I'm in a blissful, contented state today (as opposed to ranty, hormonal, sleep deprived mode), I'm off to make a chocolate cake for my little nieces visiting this avo -I've lots of energy & should really be channeling it into a final clean of the cupboards but it would feel like there was nothing left to do if I did. The planets all do seem to be slowing aligning here - I'm not counting apart from my usual daily calculation (98.2% there or 109 hours to go to EDD if like me you need the figures) - but I'm finally ready for this baby. Holding on until Tuesday night when DH starts 5 weeks paternity leave would be ace but over to you, Baby Weehector, whenever you're ready.

Alicetheinvisible · 31/07/2010 11:36

So anyone overdue? Just Cazzy?

I have the 'feeling' of wanting to do loads of cleaning and sorting, what i am lacking is the energy. I am tackling the laundry though, who knows, at this rate i may have a completely empty washbasket!

Alicetheinvisible · 31/07/2010 11:43

Nikalah is due tomorrow too

LittleMissSnowShine · 31/07/2010 11:45

vix - I'm only 36 weeks but feeling a lot of the same things as you, odd twinges that can be quite painful, really feels like you might wee yourself for a couple of seconds, lots of pressure and hard to tell the difference between baby moving and what feels like it might be a contraction. Agh!! Oh well, all good signs that things are starting to happen, hope all this means my LO's head is getting fully engaged now

Alice - I'm the opposite this week - my washing basket completely empty, nursery finished, hospital bags packed, baby clothes washed, PhD thesis finished. Everyone keeps telling me just to take it easy now, relax, potter around etc but I have more energy in the last week or two than I've had in the last month and I'm itching to find stuff to do. Normally would take myself out on a long walk but finding it hard to walk long distances, hips/pelvis very stiff. Thank god for dvd boxsets - just finished season 3 of Nip/Tuck! And going to start thinking about cooking stuff for the freezer this week, didn't want to start too early but I think now is about right...mmm, lasagne

Woo hoo, 1st August tomorrow, time for August babies to start making their appearances!!

Chulita · 31/07/2010 13:22

blueberries these are the bras I lived in with DD and all through last pgcy and they're still going for Sam. Not sexy but very comfy!

To whoever it was who mentioned a show, I didn't have a show at all with Sam, kept waiting but it never came. He came the day after his due date. He also was not engaged at all until I was several cm dilated.

I'm still bfing but haven't shifted the thrush. I think you're right, I'll have to go and get something for Sam cos he's probably just giving it back again. Feels like razor blades on my nipples when he feeds and then burning for the rest of the time - can't wait to get this sorted!
DD had a mini-meltdown yesterday and wanted mummy cuddles all afternoon. Culminated in her standing next to me bawling her eyes out, me trying to feed Sam bawling my eyes out and my mum and DH looking at us both wondering what to do. As DH says, DD can't understand why all of a sudden I don't pick her up when she cries, I'm not there to get her in the mornings or settle her at night, I'm not changing her nappy (in case she kicks me in the stomach) and I can't walk very far so we don't go to the park. She just sees me feeding Sam and she is probably feeling very left out and ignored. I'm not sure how I can fix it because I can't lift her and we're still getting bfing sorted so Sam wants to feed every hour or so. I feel like he's permanently attached and it doesn't give DD much chance. I suppose I just have to wait for it all to settle down but she's looking so forlorn at the moment it breaks my heart.

weehector how did your trip to Glasgow go? I wouldn't want to do a 2hr trip but that's just cos I find cars uncomfy when massively pg!

hildainstant · 31/07/2010 14:06

Hi folks,
It's a long while since I've been on here - been so busy and just not had a chance. I was shocked to see such sad news (is it too late to donate?) about CazEm. I knew about our early arrival through fb, which is fab news!

Well, since I've been on here we've moved house (woohoo!) but we've given ourselves loads to do! As a result, the nursery won't be ready for the arrival (furniture won't be here until late Sept but I'm not going to worry about it. I'm currently covered in silver paint as hubby is making a fab star ceiling for baby!

I'm on maternity leave now, which is such a good feeling - it's bliss not having to wake to an alarm clock....I'll relish it while I can!

Anyhoo, I can't believe no-one elses dc's have arrived yet...we must get a wriggle on!

Alicetheinvisible · 31/07/2010 16:25

Hey Hilda everything has been sent through to Caz, but someone made a donation direct to SANDS who had not been around, if you wanted perhaps you could do that? Your ceiling sounds fab!

I have a bit of a feeling this afternoon. Had a nap, woke up and feel a bit off, oh and not constipated anymore (sorry if tmi ) it is probably nothing though, as have a few odd days here and there

kcoffin27 · 31/07/2010 16:32

Hi all thanks for your thoughts of me.

heres my birth announcment :
baby ruby mae coffin was born on 28th july at 2.49pm weighing 6lb 11oz.

I had to be there at 7.30, theater were ready for me at 9.00 however there was a problem with my notes and half were missing. They had to pay £200 to get a couriuor to collect them from the warehouse
Finally went down to theater at about 2.30

I was awake this time, had a combined spinal/epidural which worked this time within mins I was unable to feel anything and couldnt move my legs.
It was worth being awake this time, when they lifted her out they showed her to us an she cryed, which made us cry. It really was lovely .
We were allowed to come home yesterday afternoon. After a doubt as to whether i could as they thought I was annemic, and then I had high bp. At the moment ruby has her sleeping round the wrong way and sleeps in the day and awake at night

vitapulchra · 31/07/2010 16:39

Chulita I'm sorry about your dd's adjustment--it is really hard and then you're left feeling so guilty and sorry for her. When I had my dd (dc2), I made her naptimes sacred play time for me and ds1. No matter how messy or dirty the house was or how many dishes to do, I left everything and just played with him while she slept. I found these times very precious with him and it helped him to cope better with the change. When dc3 came along the first two would play with each other which was helpful, though dd did super-throw-herself-on-the-floor-screaming tantrums for the first 6 weeks as her way of adjusting. Then she got used to it and fell in love with the baby. HTH. Sorry also about your thrush as it sounds awful.

Am waiting to hear from kcoffin and others--hope everything has gone well.

vitapulchra · 31/07/2010 16:41

Oooh! x-posted. Congratulations, kcoffin! I love her name--so, so pretty. Very happy for you!

babyducky · 31/07/2010 17:12

Good idea re naptimes, I'm getting a bit worried about how my ds is going to feel, he seems to be behaving really badly lately.

Congrats kcoffin, love the name too, ruby is on our shortlist

Hope everyone is well x

cazzybabs · 31/07/2010 18:40

My stomach still hurts - hummmm

thedogwalker · 31/07/2010 18:54

Hello Kcoffin, great to hear from you. Ruby was on our short list before we knew we were having a boy. So glad you are both home safe and well.

Alice I've not been feeling too good either. My stomach today is in total turmoil. Not sure if I'm still having BH, as the tightening has moved (got tightening on top, down the sides and deep inside) and it is far more painful, but don't think it's anything more than warm up stuff, but it is most certainly uncomfortable and I'm getting fed up.

I think its hard being a first timer, as I really don't know what is happening. My DH bless him, keeps asking me if I'm okay and do I think I'm progressing. I just keep telling him that I've no idea

Chulita Respect that you are still going with all the BF pain, you're an inspiration.

Hope everyone is fine and having a geat weekend, ttfn

Nikalah · 31/07/2010 19:12

Hey Kcoffin Congratulations! I too love the name Ruby!

Due date tomorrow, I'm feeling pretty awful, like a really bad hangover, where you don't know what to do with yourself. Clothes are uncomfortable so was in PJ's by 5pm. Stomach acid is really bad and the pills don't seem to be kicking in, the aches and pains I have are all centred around my ribs & mid to upper back.... nothing down below, which I'm guessing is where I want it to be.

DH being a grumpy, snappy, bugger as well today

Baby needs to get a shift-on, not sure I can take another couple of weeks of this!

Good Luck for the rest of the weekend - it's AUGUST tomorrow so let's get these babies moving!

(Sorry all moan moan moan again from me)
