OMG - how bizarre is that? I was having some bizarre dreams last night - and one was me and DH (and what seems like the whole extended family) going to the airport to go on holiday. I was at the front of the queue demanding that I be given a better seat (after all I am 8 months pregnant ) and the staff member was looking at the computer to see if he could get me a better seat and the screen went red with a big ARRIVALS header - and underneath was written aussieng. OMG that is really quite scary!

Congratulations aussieng!!!!

Good luck blueberries fingers crossed it kicks off soon.

Maybe more babies by the end of the weekend!

babyducky · 24/07/2010 09:23

Chulita · 24/07/2010 11:50

Hello all,
Chulita's DH here, just to let you know, Samson William =) was born at 0115hrs this morning (24th July) weighing in at 8lb 3oz. Delivered by c-section after 23hrs of hard work, I'm very proud of her.

OP posts:
vitapulchra · 24/07/2010 11:55

Hurray Aussie and Chulita! Congratulations! Very fine names you've chosen and hope you're recovering well and enjoying your newbies.

Good to hear from you, too, Emster, so glad you're feeling supported in breastfeeding despite some early challenges. BTW, my DS1 is named James and I can still feel the pitter patter of my heart every time someone refers to "Baby James"! So lovely.

Hope you're continuing to feel a little better, Star. Glad you're mum and sister can help out with DD. Try not to be too hard on yourself about not feeling like the perfect Mum atmyou are the perfect mum just because you're hers, and very soon this phase of waiting will be over and you can bond even more as a family with Harry and Emily. I hope you'll have lots of support after the birthare your mum and sister quite close by then?

I'm well but really starting to get of everyone who's due before me (and that's nearly all of you!) Don't really have too much to complain about but may I still say I'm fed up? This is my last one, I keep telling myself, so these are my last few weeks of huffing around, feeling tired by 7:30am, heartburn, varicose veins, endless conversations with strangers about the size of my enormous bump, feeling too tired to play with all 3 dc's when its summer holidays and they're home with me all the time! Poor things. DS2 who's just 13 months won't know what's hit him when next one comes, ha ha!

vix206 · 24/07/2010 12:06

Oh congrats Aussie and Chulita, I'm all teary! So happy for you both xxxx

ElusiveMoose · 24/07/2010 12:53

Hooray, congrats to you both Aussie and Chulita!! So exciting to get more arrivals! (And thanks to Chulita's DH for coming on to post.)

Quick question - has anyone else felt their baby's movements slow down a bit recently? I'm still feeling regular movements, but they're much less defined than they were - sort of gentle swooshes and pokes rather than violent wiggles. I'm assuming it's just because there's not much room in there any more (I'm 38 weeks today), but just thought I'd see if others were experiencing the same?? I can't really remember from last time.

babyducky · 24/07/2010 13:14

Elusive- movements have slowed down for me too recently, I asked midwife if it's because there is less room & she said yes & it's fine as long as they are still regular.

Started drinking raspberry leaf tea today, yuck! I had the tablets instead last time, anyone know which is better? X

starshaker · 24/07/2010 13:34

My mum is coming to stay for 2 weeks after i get out of hospital which will be a great help. Most of my family live hundreds of miles away so dd is off up to aberdeen and elgin for a wee holiday (poor wee thing has had no holiday so far cos i cant face farm parks, beach or anything else to be quite honest) so she will have a great time with cousins and everybody.

neenz · 24/07/2010 15:31

Elusive yeah movements slow down - I think they say at least 10 an hour is normal so if you are worried just have a sit on the couch for an hour and count (you'll prob get there in 10 mins!).

Congrats Aussie and Chulita! How spooky was that dream about the airport arrivals?!

Emster, well done for persevering with the BFing.

Copuld we put on the arrivals list whether people are on baby 1/2/3 etc?

LizzieA · 24/07/2010 15:49

Congratulations Aussie and Chulita

Alicetheinvisible · 24/07/2010 17:40

10 movements an hour? I thought it was 10 in 24hrs?

Grumpy today as IL's decided to stop by (i knew about this a couple of days ago) but not sure of the time. Got DD and myself all snuggled up in our bed for a nap only to be woken up 20mins after dropping off to say they would be there in half hour. Left DD asleep the whole time. DH was having to work so popped in for 5mins, so i had an hour of them and me

On the plus(?) side, i have 16days left til my due date That does not seem long enough!

girlsyearapart · 24/07/2010 17:51

Congratulations aussie - that's one of the names we have on our shortlist.

Well done chulita- nice to hear a dh admit to being proud!

babyducky I don't which is best but I couldn't stand the tea so have used the tablets all 3 times.

Had my reflexology this arvo very nice and the lady said the 'baby bit' on my big toe was sticking out in a ready to go way..

neenz · 24/07/2010 17:58

Sorry should have said with baby movements it really depends what is normal for you - in What To Expect When You're Expecting it says 10 an hour. But if your baby normally only moves 10 a day then that's fine too - but if your baby moves 10 an hour usually and then only 10 one day then that can indicate a problem . Sorry don't mean to scare anyone I find it as hard as anyone trying to work out whether baby is moving enough - I even read yesterday on babycentre that if there is too much vigourous movement then that can indicate a problem too

tbh I can't wait till this baby is out safe and well cos I am really scared about something going wrong.

vix206 · 24/07/2010 18:03

We just bought a house So no chain on either end of the sale, hopefully should be moved within next 3 months. Very exciting but almost a bit much at the moment with everything else going on. For some reason it has spurred me on though and I have finally packed the emergency hospital bag.

Tomorrow's job is to attend a christening and then DH is going to set up the birth pool we bought from Chulita. I've still a while til my due date but I am so twingey and strange-feeling at the moment we both feel we should get it ready and prepped just in case (obviously not filling it yet just getting it inflated and set up).

Loving all these James's, one of my fave names too but as its my DH's name he won't let me use it for the baby. I think we are going for Alexander with David as a middle name. Alexander after my surrogate Granddad (will be shortened to Lex like his was) and David after james's older brother who was born at 27 weeks and died after 2 days. We thought it would be a nice way to remember him.

Anyway, have a nice Saturday evening everyone

Alicetheinvisible · 24/07/2010 18:05

Neenz this baby still kicks the crap out of me, but the pregnancy bible says you should have on average 10 separate movements in a day, so i wondered if it was a typo. I think it depends on what has been normal throughout doesn't it?

Starting to occur to me that i am probably doing more than the average 8 and half months pg woman does and that could be the reason i am so bloody tired

bouncingblueberries · 24/07/2010 19:55

Quick update - just stepped into the bath and my waters broke. Have to phone the birthing centre in an hour as they are chocka just now and there isn't a clean room available

Will keep u posted!
