CazEm thanks so much for taking the time to post. You've been in our minds so much. I believe completely that your little Belle is in Jesus arms too and she's waiting for you. I hope that as time goes by you feel stronger and stronger and I'm so glad that you and your DH have been able to support each other through this. Lots of hugs, xxx

Nice to hear from you caz, I agree that you will always be part of the group & really hope you do pop back from time to time.

I think the pics on facebook are beautiful, & the bracelet Is a lovely idea.

Sending lots of love to you & your dh, stay strong xxxxxxxxxx

girlsyearapart · 22/07/2010 08:15

Lovely to hear from you caz
I am so glad that you and your dh have become stronger from this- he sounds like a great bloke.

Good luck to aussie- know what you mean about interfering Mothers/Mils whilst in labour. I am going to try to keep it from Mil at least when I go into labour..

star come on and moan- it can make you feel better to write it all down. I have protein in my urine too but as my bp is normal they don't seem bothered. (although my bp is nearly always low so normal may be high iyswim)

pample sounds like you're having a hard time. They always seem so short staffed in ante natal wards ime. When I was in I was seen by a doctor then told the doc would return within an hour and was seen 11 hours later!

bouncingblueberries · 22/07/2010 08:40

So lovely to hear from you caz and to hear you 'sounding' so strong. belle will forever be our first August arrival and has touched us all.

Alicetheinvisible · 22/07/2010 08:53

Caz thank you for coming on here and posting. Sounds like you and Jon are very lucky to have each other. I am so glad you got to spend time with Belle, and your photos are beautiful. The bracelet is a lovely idea, i hope it brings you some small comfort day to day

weehector · 22/07/2010 09:00

CazEm Great to hear from you! What an uplifting & beautiful post & what an amazing lady & mummy you are...your love & efforts for Belle in the time you had with her just leap out from the post. I think we'll all remember little Belle from time to time in the years to come. I don't think anyone truly gets over losing a child - it's not the natural order of things - but I think it's wonderful how you and your DH are finding strength in each other & dealing with your loss & grief in such positive & tangible ways. Wishing you both lots of happiness ahead - it might be painfully bittersweet but it sounds like life together is already richer for knowing & loving her. Oh, and I had to smile about all the pink -hope you don't think I'm being disrespectful or flippant here but everytime I think of Belle, I see pink floral bunting. Maybe I'm a crazy, hormonal lady but I think it's more indicative of the strong sense we all have of her through your hopes & dreams for her.

Star & Pample sending you two good vibes & hoping today is a better day for you both. X

cazzybabs · 22/07/2010 09:15

Oh Caz - I think about you often..glad you came back although god knows how you find the strength...

Dibbydab · 22/07/2010 09:41

Hi Caz, you'll always be welcome here, you and Belle are part of the original gang and will hold a special place in all our hearts for many years to come.

I'm not on FB, but the picture of Belle on your MN profile is just beautiful, what a perfect little girl, you should be very proud xx

bouncingblueberries · 22/07/2010 10:12

Just found this great link on another thread for all of you that, like me, are experiencing LOADS of BH, on-off mild conractions and getting frustrated. Interesting reading:

warm-up labour

Off to reflexology soon, so if nothing else I'll have a lovely hour of pampering all to myself. My um has taken ds out for the day, so looking forward to enjoying my own company for a bit!

Hope everyone has a lovely day and things have progressed nicely for you aussie!

pample hope you have a better time of it today. Sorry you can't have your homebirth after all, but hope your GTT goes well.

vix206 · 22/07/2010 10:27

So lovely to hear from you Caz, think of you all the time x

I've had absolutely no BH's (I don't think) - plenty of painful cervical twinges though and 'red-hot-poker' type pains.... I know I shouldn't wish I was having Braxton Hicks but with just over 3 weeks left I feel I should have had some by now? Although several of my friends say they never had them with any of their pregnancies so I guess everyone is different. I thought I was having them the other day, but now I reckon it was just baby moving, tummy was hard but then it always is these days as he seems so big and bulky and bony!!

Am off to chiropractors now to be hurt , and then to see midwife. Then taking afternoon off to see some old friends.

Have a lovely day ladies xx

marzipananimal · 22/07/2010 10:29

thanks so much for posting Caz, I think of your family often. It was really special to see the pictures on your profile. Sending lots of love and praying that Jesus will comfort you and Jon as he holds your little girl x

Dibbydab · 22/07/2010 11:19

Vix I've got exactly the same - are you me? 10 days to go and getting severe twinges "downstairs" which make me stop and catch my breath (not sure that bodes well for actually dealing with proper contractions - argh!) but no BH.

Have just got back from chiropractor - the woman is a sadist, I can't believe I pay for that pain to be inflicted on me, but I do feel better afterwards.

Aussie hope things start progressing for you soon. Our local hospital says 24 hours from waters going to induction if established labour doesn't occur naturally in that time.

Pample sounds like you're going through the mill, bummer about your home birth, but as we all know the birth is just one day in the whole scheme of things - what matters is that the baby is delivered safely and you both come out of the other end happy and healthy.

Star not long to go now until you get double baby snuggles (and you got a reply from Gok - v. jealous - I heart Aunty Gok, DH reckons he's actually a straight guy pretending to be gay so he can get away with feeling up womens' knockers all the time.)

I was in town yesterday and 2 random people told me that they thought I was having a girl - first one was a lady working in M & S, but the second was an old tramp who just came up to me in the street, pointed at my stomach and shouted "You're 'avin a girl!" then shuffled off - I thought he was going to put some sort gypsy curse on me or something

My due date is 2nd August, but it's a full moon on 26th July - I'm convinced that with the amount of heartburn I've had I'm going to give birth to a werewolf baby on Monday. Watch this space...

thedogwalker · 22/07/2010 12:19

Hello all

CazEm great to hear from you. Belle, you and DH are in our thoughts.

Vix the twinges and the red hot poker pains are all part of the BH contractions. Some people just get the contraction/hardening of the bump, others get the scratchy / red hot poker feeling and some get both, so you are having BHs. The scratchy feeling is the cervix stretching/ getting ready!!!!

Star Hope you're feeling better today, if you need to rant again, then just get on here and rant away, none of us minds, that's what we are here for, to support one another. Take care xx

I had my first real contraction today. Just a one off, but it initially took my breath away, then I remembered what I've been dong on my hypnotherapy and so I relaxed and I breathed through the contraction. Now wondering when I will get more. It can be quite common just to get warm up ones aswell as BH, so don't think it means anything signigicant, shame as I feel I'm ready.

Hope everyone is havinng a good day, take care xx

girlsyearapart · 22/07/2010 12:25

vix I didn't have any bh at all with my first or second pregnancies. Making up for it this time!

vitapulchra · 22/07/2010 12:39

Caz Thank you for your beautiful post and for putting up a picture of Belle on MN (I'm not on FB either). I'm still thinking of you very often and am so glad for the comfort and love you and your DH share for each other, and your precious Belle.

Bubba I think this is what I'm going to get, which has the same price on several websites. Quite expensive but it'll be my one gift for myself after William is born . I think I'll wait to order until after the birth as I've no idea what size I'll be.

Thinking about Pample and Aussie today. Hope all is going well for Aussie and that we can get some news soon. And Dibby you made me really laugh about your werewolf

vitapulchra · 22/07/2010 12:41

Oh and Vix I've never had a single BH or even any twinges before my waters broke and I made it into established labour. I think lucky but from this thread it now seems abnormal!

foxyjbro99 · 22/07/2010 13:14

Caz,
Your post has touched me. Your daughter, Belle, is beautiful.
I'm glad your DH is being strong & you sound as if you've got a really good outlook on things. I really don't know how i'd have the strength to cope with what you're going through.
Please keep in touch.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

soontobefatnat · 22/07/2010 13:22

Just wanted to say hello to Caz and reiterate how everyone feels - that we think about you and Jon and Belle loads. I'm floored by how strong you both seem and grateful that you take the time to pop back and visit us.

starshaker · 22/07/2010 13:28

Still feeling crap today. Thought id go online and order some lovely new bedding for me. Possibly not the wisest move to buy all white hmmm. Oh well might go and buy more in a more suitable colour.
I feel like im snapping all the time and my poor dd is getting the brunt of it. I actually smacked her yesterday and i never do that, felt so bad about it after. i dont want to be this shouty mummy anymore but its like i cant help it. I hate feeling like this.

thedogwalker · 22/07/2010 13:39

Blueberries just read that article you posted, found it very very interesting, thank you lots for finding it.

I think a few of the ladies on this thread have had the warm up labour as stated in that article. There are some very good points mentioned about conserving energy etc and not going out for long walks. Once again, thanks

pamplem0usse · 22/07/2010 14:18

Caz thank you for being brave enough to post (and I'm glad the package arrived safely!)... little Belle looks beautiful and I'm so glad you got some time to gaze at her and make some memories. I know that this must feel a difficult time for you, with your due date approaching and it seeming like other people are moving on with their lives, but you must feel you can always come to us for support. As others have said, Belle will always be our first August baby.

Sorry I haven't got time to respond personally, but thanks for all of the supportive messages. Had the GTT this morning and the midwife thinks it's very unlikely I'm diabetic as my fasting blood result was at the low end of normal (rather than high as would be expected with diabetes).... proper results back tomorrow. Feeling pretty exhausted and over-emotional. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I got really upset because my GTT was booked for 8.30 and it was 9.30 before anything had been done and I was beginning to feel quite dizzy.... Oh well.

So I think it's just fingers and toes crossed until my scan on Tuesday. Considering giving up my 'suprise' status to give me something to look forward to Have made a complaint to PALS about the amount of time I was left sans painkillers on Tuesday so we'll see where that gets me as I'm now feeling v anxious about giving birth!

Will try and read through people's posts properly later and reply personally. Hope you're all coping well and special wishes to star who I noticed is having a bit of a tough time (I also did the new bedding thing when I was feeling a bit low a couple of weeks ago!)

xxx

cazzybabs · 22/07/2010 14:48

well I had a letter today confirming I am annemic (but only just) but that was after I had finished my iron tablets (which I had found clearing ot the bathroom prescribed after my last miscarriage) and eating cereal - so I was probably quite anemic before.

Am trying to summon up energy to tidy he kitchen and then cycle to meet up with a friend...the girls have rain coats at my work (and it is forecast rain) but that would add an extra 2 miles onto a 5 mile trip which would be too far for me even if not them...so am hoping I can find something waterproof for them to wear.

neenz · 22/07/2010 15:13

Caz your post moved me to tears - you are such a brave woman and a proud mummy. I can totally understand you wanting to show off your photos on FB. It sounds like you had some very special moments with your precious angel Belle. I know she is being looked after in heaven and you will be reunited with her one day. I am so glad your DH is supporting you so well - you are right that if you can survive this you can survive anything. You picked a good'un there. When the days seem unbearable and your grief off the scale, try to focus on 12mths from now... a year goes so quickly and by then I am sure you will be expecting another little angel and life will seem so much more positive. Take care xxxx

CellyD · 22/07/2010 15:33

Caz thank you for taking the time to post a message, you are indeed a very strong and brave woman. I am glad that you have been so well supported by your DH through this difficult time.

Chulita · 22/07/2010 16:27

blueberries thank you so much for that link! I'm still having a ridiculous amount of BH and people keep saying 'walk it out' etc but my instinct is to go to bed. I just think this little one will be out when he's good and ready and I may as well get all the sleep I can! Good to know that these freaking rubbish BH are perfectly normal!

pample good idea on the PALS thing, if nothing else it could stop someone else suffering the same way you did. Hope you have a lovely tomorrow to compensate

star come here and whinge, get it off your chest!

Oh, and happy due date to me, DH and I are off to Nando's tonight followed by a movie - sod's law I'll start something, we've not been to the cinema for over 2 years!
