Grrrr

once again the mw has not turned up

LCRLCR · 20/07/2010 11:43

Morning all!

3.5 days left at work, so long 4 hour daily commute !

My friends rates this Nursing Tea (she is breastfeeding twins)shop.napiers.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=156

Any thoughts? Seems a little pricey? Started on the raspberry leaf tea, quite nice I find!

Alicetheinvisible · 20/07/2010 11:57

Pample i have just looked up Emster and you can see her photos even if not FB friends. Lovely little boy

LCR i remember the RLT being gross last time, but actually enjoying it this time.

Plumber here, says it is a very minor problem but not quite sure how to fix it, bit perculiar, so is phoning some people. Did i mention that he is starting our kitchen on Monday? My house will be beautiful and serene and grown up looking dammit!

weehector · 20/07/2010 12:35

Atta girl, alice that's the spirit!

pamplem0usse · 20/07/2010 12:49

Ah thanks Alice they're lovely aren't they?

Well I've attached the relevant pictures of Caz's bits and bobs to my profile. There's the lovely card courtesy of Alice and then a picture of the Rose (the receipt contains all manner of personal details I wanted to avoid making public), the Gardening vouchers and the receipt for the SANDS donation (minus personal details).

If anyone is unhappy with the fact that the receipt for the Rose or the Gardening vouchers isn't up there, please contact either myself, or MrsZac or Chulita directly. All orders were carried out in such a way that all three of us have seen the receipts, which we thought made us sufficiently accountable. Thank you to both of them for their hard work - particularly sorting out the paypal account, Gardening vouchers ordering and SANDs donation - which I wouldn't have known where to start with!

And thank you to all of you for your messages and donations. All the messages received have been included in Caz's package, as has the list of who donated and the overall total (but not the amount of individual donations, we didn't feel this was appropriate).

Package is just on its way to the post office. If it makes even a modicum of difference in terms of letting Caz know how much support she has, then as far as I'm concerned it's worth it.

xxxx

Emster30 · 20/07/2010 12:50

hello, thanks for congrats! james was born at 6.37pm for the list. he was officially 39 wks but bang on time by my original due date. Got to fully dilated using gas and air and birthing pool which was wonderful, but then didn't progress to pushing. had to try lots of different positions and stuff. then to labour ward (had been in MLU) and went on syntocin drip to increase frequency and strength of contractions. had epidural at that point but only worked on one side. still no joy with pushing and he was back to back and not turning, which was the problem. so eventually had to go to theatre. as epidural hadn't worked properly had to have spinal which took multiple attempts to get in - had to call in consultant anaesthetist etc. eventually it worked and they managed to turn the baby using forceps and get him out. was v scary and was convinced it was going to end up as an EMCS under GA but luckily not quite!

anyway, he is lovely, all worth it, and at least i didn't feel the episiotomy or being stitched up...

mrsZaC · 20/07/2010 13:01

hey ladies,

yes blueberries it is indeed my last day at work today, woopee less than 4 hrs and counting!!

LCRLCR I love my mamma tea, I obviously don't take the raspberry leaf tea just now but I will be ordering it from them. woo hoo your nearly finished! how many wks will you be when you finish, I'm finishing @ 34 wks.

cherry grr about the midwife, dead annoying!

poor vix just take it easy, there will be no work getting done at all if you run yourself into the ground. I know it's hard when there is work to be done though.

littlemiss how exciting baby might come early

alice poor you and your leaking problems hope it's all sorted soon.

Emster's little boy is a cutie pie, specially in his little cow vest -owh!

Rib pain still going strong today - grr but will hopefully ease when I'm not sitting at a desk all day.

Hope your all doing OK despite grumbles etc.

mrsZaC · 20/07/2010 13:19

owh emster poor you, sounds like you had a hard time of it at the end, least little James is here safely Glad to hear you laboured well in 1st stage.

Good job pample well done for pulling everything together

vitapulchra · 20/07/2010 14:30

Pample I can't read your profile. Am I just being daft? There's no link from your name.

Alicetheinvisible · 20/07/2010 14:34

Me neither.

My Agent Provocateur nursing bra arrived, it is beautiful

Emster glad you and James are well

Plumbing all fixed, just waiting for my beautiful victorian bookcase to arrive. So tired and need some more rennies, heartburn is crap today.

LCRLCR · 20/07/2010 14:41

Thanks for the Mamma Teas link MrsZac - that's a much better price and I've ordered. I'll be 36 +5 finishing work - almost baked!

Wow emster sounds pretty full on, glad you are both ok and you're bundle of joy is adorable, congrats again. We covered c-sections and epidurals in our NCT class last night, it made me very anxious actually even though for me, forewarned is usually forearmed but I just need to remember if it doens't turn out like I want it to, everyone has LO's best interests at heart and that's the most important thing.

LCRLCR · 20/07/2010 14:43

alice I also ordered the AP bra after your post last time (I am a total copycat!!) can't wait to get it!

Alicetheinvisible · 20/07/2010 14:50

It is really lovely

Chulita · 20/07/2010 15:29

emster good to see you back!

mrsZaC enjoy your last few minutes of work

Hope all of you with houses being sorted get it all done quickly!

blueberries don't you dare go before me...although I'm waaaay off yet!

I'm still getting BH everytime I stand up and every 20-30 mins when I'm sitting/lying down. Over 2 weeks now...they're getting more frequent but still only BH. Every now and then I'll get a really strong one but it's making getting around very difficult. I can't believe how long this has been going on for! But at least I'm not grumpy

OP posts:
pamplem0usse · 20/07/2010 15:38

So how rubbish am I?! I uploaded the photos and then failed to make my profile public.

Thanks for pointing it out vitapulchra! Should be sorted now....

Emster lovely to see you back

Alice glad the plumbing is sorted.

Wonder if anyone has any ideas... I'm getting period style pains in my right side (i.e. not where theyd be if I was on my period). Wondering if our little rascal has just moved transverse and is kicking me in the side :s hope it's nothing more serious though....

marzipananimal · 20/07/2010 16:00

thanks for putting the pics up pample

Congratulations emster, james is so cute! (and love the name, it's on my shortlist)

Saw the midwife today, pretty uneventful although student midwife did manage to drip blood all over my arm (mine not hers!). Baby is head down but I'm still getting so many wriggles that I wouldn't be surprised if he/she turns again. and there seem to be limbs in funny places!

Dibbydab · 20/07/2010 16:59

Well done Emster, and congrats on the safe arrival of baby James (our first choice for a boys name as well...)

Alice you sound in a much better place than this morning! Honestly, I had visions of that girl in the Exorcist with her head spinning around and her serpant like tongue flicking out at people (your DH, plumber?) when you posted, and now you've gone all Mary Poppins, it's amazing what a flushing loo and a pretty bra can do

My nursing chair arrived from Kiddicare - I put it together in about 10 minutes - at 38 weeks, very pleased with myself - so pleased in fact I fell asleep in it for an hour when I was finished.

I've less than 2 weeks to go and don't feel like I've got any indications at all that things are happening in the departure lounge other than the odd pelvic twinge - certainly no BH

2 weeks into my ML and I seem to have turned into my husband's PA - as he walks out the door in the morning he's started asking "If you've got 5 minutes could you just file that paperwork/ring the builder/organise my car insurance/pay that bill."

Might have to go off and find a piece of pretty ribbon to put in my hair for when he gets in from work and I present him with glass of G & T, his slippers and the evening paper I used to earn a proper wage and be in charge of actual people.

Chulita · 20/07/2010 18:10

dibbydab trust me, you don't want BH - they're a right pain in the ass. A friend of mine was due her second on the 11th and she's not had a single twinge despite being 8 days overdue. BH are a curse.

OP posts:
bouncingblueberries · 20/07/2010 19:42

Welcome back emster!

chulita surely you must be about ready to pop any minute with that level of BH?!?!?!?!?! I reckon you'll go from nought to full dilation in record time with all the ground work those BH are doing [trying to find the silver lining for you emoticon!]

Just booked in for some reflexology on Thursday so hoping the reflexologist will be able to have a wee go at kick starting things for me...not going to get my hopes up though.

hurrah for nursing chairs dibby! I'm gutted about mine - the arm broke AGAIN and I managed to make it worse this afternoon when I tried to 'fix' it (it has been very, very well used over the past 4 years - so don't panic, they are quite robust until 4 year olds start clambering all over them). Thought I might have to shell out for a new one, but dh has a cunning plan . We'll see...

Chulita · 20/07/2010 19:47

I feel ready to pop, since my nap I've had them full on non-stop. When I stand up my stomach goes rock solid and stays that way til I sit down. Once sitting down it goes rock solid off and on the whole time, probably 50-50 solid/soft. It's ridiculous and is proper pissing me off but there's nothing I can do except whinge Roll on bedtime when I only get them every 30 mins or so

blueberries good luck with the reflexology! I keep debating it but can't really justify the £30 again

OP posts:
JamieJay · 20/07/2010 21:09

Congratulations Emster, sorry the birth didn't quite go to plan but love your positive attitute to the whole thing.

Chulita / blueberries hope you have some action soon, it sounds pretty promising for you Chulita.

38+2 here by my official due date (38+6 by my scan so hoping that baby may be here sooner rather than later!) but no sign of anything happening.

Can't really complain as pregnancy is still being pretty easy and getting to spend a lot of the day napping now I'm on maternity leave but am plagued by god awful heartburn which is keeping me awake most of the night and making it impossible to eat.

Sympathies to everyone suffering with moodswings......

neenz · 20/07/2010 21:28

Emster, congrats! Glad you avoided a c-section. Try putting tea tree oil in your bath to help the stitches heal. The MWs probably told you not to put anything in your bath but just ignore them . It really will soothe the pain and speed up healing - it took me a week or so to discover it and I so wish I had tried it earlier!

LittleMissSnowshine, don't worry you will get big enough for that baby to fit through! In fact the more you can visualise your cervix opening nice and wide (now and when in labour) the easier it will probably be. The mind can have an amazing effect on the body so if you believe it, it will happen! I really recommend reading Ina May's Guide To Childbirth for inspiration.

neenz · 20/07/2010 21:59

Bargain digital baby monitor here in case anyone is still looking for one £23.99!. Free p&p if you collect it from a Boots store

Aussieng · 20/07/2010 22:18

Hi all. How is everyone doing this evening. I joined those of you with sleeping problems last night but am hoping that tiredness will see me throught tonight.

Alice I hope your day improved

Pample thanks for the photos (and for all you've done).

Cherry - nice to see you back on here. I'd be furious about the mw. I think they honestly believe that we just sit around at home doing nothing once baby comes.

Star - I hope you manage to get something sorted out with your consultant. My consultant only sees NHS patients one day a week and I think that has more to do with how things have been scheduled for me than anything else. I bet it is the same with yours - thinking about their own convenience and ignoring yours!

Yeay MrsZac - a free woman now! Enjoy your maternity leave and not long to go now LCR.

Chulita - my sympaties. The BH are very strange. I get them very hard too and the feeling of your entire stomach being that rock solid is not at all comfortable.

Dibby - I hear you! Exactly the same scenario in this household. I am now doing all my DH's paperwork, photocopying, expenses claims etc

Emster - I'd be freaking out if an epidural did not work but it's lovely to hear that all was worthwhile. Here is another one who is also having a sweet baby James (although ours will be Jamie).

I saw the consultant today since it was my official due date. I have been redated She agreed with me that my original EDD appears to be a better estimate and has written on my notes that this is to be used from now in especially in the consideration of any induction/intervention etc. She has taken extra blood tests etc to make sure all is ok. Although I always swore by my original dates and have been pretty sure that lo is not coming any time this week it still feels kinda wierd to suddenly not be due any more.

So if the list gets redone any time soon my EDD is now 28 July and I am only 35!!!!! For two more weeks anyway

Night all. x

Aussieng · 21/07/2010 05:28

Well it seems like I do have a tricksy baby after all! Waters broke about an hour ago. Going in to be assessed at 7.30. Am not in labour though do expecting to be sent home for 24 hours. Really really don't want to be induced
