cherrypie don't worry about not catching up with everyone's posts, we know you're busy!

Hope we got at least one baby overnight, not mine though despite 4.5 hours of tightenings and cramps. Just too painful to sleep but nothing happening again, I think I'll end up having a homebirth just cos I won't believe anything's ever going to come of these things...

Looking forward to hearing from emster too!

vix the courier should be coming this arvo, I'll let you know the tracking no.

Chulita i keep having the same feeling. If this labour doesn't go the same way as DD's did (which obviously i don't want it to) i will not know quite when to go to the hospital

37weeks today!!!!!!

girlsyearapart · 19/07/2010 08:42

morning all

Is emster on facebook? she's more likely to have updated on there/have a comment on her wall.

Rubbish night last night dd1 was up for 2 hours in the night and also woke at 1030pm so between that, the loo visits and dh getting in from work I am knackered!

My dad has started a sweepstake on when the baby will arrive. I have picked next sat which would make me 38+3, a couple of days earlier than dd2 was.Think it's wishful thinking though.

Hospital later- will be a waste of time I'm sure.

vix206 · 19/07/2010 09:09

Just on for a whinge, 2 hours sleep and now off to work. I'm so exhausted. Hope everyone else has a good Monday

Jaysfourth · 19/07/2010 09:15

Hi all

i just had a looksie on Emsters wall on FB.

There was a 'congratulations' post 11 hours ago, but thats it, nothing more

Hope she wont mind me putting that here ?

Anyone hear from Aussie? her due date is tomorrow.

weehector · 19/07/2010 09:46

Morning!

Just checking in. A 'congratulations' sounds promising. Here's hoping. 18 days without a baby and counting... C'mon girls, hop to it, we need fresh pineapples, we need curries, we need you to jump your men, we need DPs primed to update FB or MN asap as part of the contact list..we just need one more little baby to get the ball rolling.

Dibbydab · 19/07/2010 09:51

Morning girls, happy Monday!

38 weeks today and picking up TENS machine this afternoon from our local chemist - £18 to hire from now until "whenever baby arrives". Had some serious twinges down below last night, but more like stabbing pains than period pains so think baby is just shifting further into the departure lounge...

Need to start getting myself into a more positive state of mind - keep veering between "women do this every day, it's what our bodies are designed for" and "I'm going to die!" Off to read some Ina May.

Finally got the new hose and pump for the birthing pool, just need to get it out of the bag now and inflated. DH wondered why we couldn't just use the garden hose - told him as much as I wanted a natural birth, I didn't fancy sharing my pool with any slugs and snails that had decided to hitch a ride indoors.

Also got my el cheapo nighties from Primark and am wearing them already - v. comfortable, though I suspect a single duvet cover with holes cut out for arms would be just as comfy.

Will keep checking here for an Emster update as I'm not a Facebooker.

mrsZaC · 19/07/2010 09:56

Hey ladies,

Hope emster is getting lots of lovely baby cuddles, she's got my number and was going to send me a txt so I could let you ladies know but I've not had anything yet, maybe she forgot to take my number

so it looks like emster has most likely popped, whos next!!!? hehe blueberries? aussie? chulita?

star good luck today, goodness knows how uncomfortable you are, hope it will be a good balance of early for your comfort but not too early for babies

vix good news on potential offers on your house, fingers crossed for you still no movement with our flats Good on you with the homebirth, your absolutely right, can't wait to hear all about it when baby vix makes an appearance.

With everyone on the sleeping thing, had to drag my butt out of bed this morning for work but only 2 days left - woopeee!!!

lizzie LOL at dusting off your hoover! quite right, you should be resting

cherry loving that your planning baby 4 already - hehe.

mrsZaC · 19/07/2010 10:18

fab news, just heard from emster she had a baby boy last night, 9lb 4oz, no name yet. Bit of a difficult birth ending in spinal & forceps but mum & baby are well

pamplem0usse · 19/07/2010 10:27

Hip hip! So excited for emster..... wonder who's next?!

I'm exhausted after having 6 friends to stay this weekend... they were all very helpful but was still hard work and v little sleep! DVD day today methinks.... and my to do list has less and less on it now!

More later....

cazzybabs · 19/07/2010 10:28

YEAH congratultions Emster.

bouncingblueberries · 19/07/2010 10:44

Oh congratulations emster! Fantastic news! Hopefully the babies will start coming thick and fast for us now

very of your birthing pool dibby - hoping to get one of the rooms at the birthing centre with a birthing pool but there's no guarantee.

Huge sympathies to all of you suffering lack of sleep. I've had a couple of really good nights of solid sleep but still feel knackered

Again thought we were game on last night. Started getting stomach pains at about 10.30pm, went to the loo and had horrid diarrhoea. Stood up and had a doozer of a contraction...then complete radio silence for the rest of the night. Yawn. Starting to bore even myself with all this nonsense!

How's everyone else doing? Anyone else in labour yet?

mrsZaC · 19/07/2010 10:51

blueberries don't reakon you have long to go... hopefully things start moving swiftly for you

babyducky · 19/07/2010 10:57

CONGRATULATIONS EMSTER!!

Its all getting exciting here isnt it, come on babies!

I'm still having loads of contraction type pains but nothing regular, getting a bit fed up & uncomfortable now, I've suddenly started to find walking very hard, DS has nursery today which is a 20 min walk each way, so not looking forward to that.

hope everyone is ok, will pop back later x

CherryPie3 · 19/07/2010 11:06

Ooh ooh ooh ooh - CONGRATULATIONS EMSTER!!!!

Right....who's next in line?

Dibbydab · 19/07/2010 11:34

Oooh I've gone all teary - many congrats Emster fab news, thanks for the update MrsZ.

Bouncing our hospital has 1 pool for 12 delivery suites, so it was one factor that swayed me towards a homebirth as I wouldn't have been guaranteed use of the pool in hospital. I also think you're "it" for our next arrival

Dad has just been to rig up the hose for the pool - after getting our all singing, all dancing kitchen fitted, 'tis impossible to get an attachment to fit the hose to the bleedin' tap, and neither will it fit the bathroom sink tap, so he's rigged some sort of Heath Robinson contraption up to the shower so we can get the hot water from there and feed it to the pool in the dining room downstairs. Thank goodness for Dads, DH has lots of admirable qualities, but DIY ain't one of them!

Still have to make the curtains for the baby's room , so it can't arrive just yet. Am convinced that whilst I still have stuff to do it won't arrive, but I fear that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Aussieng · 19/07/2010 12:03

Woo-hoo for Emster although grim about the forceps - my worst nightmare I think! Really seems like things are starting to happen for some of you now...

All is quiet here. Few tightenings and cramps and heartburn but I'm starting to get optomistic about my chances of making it to the comedy club on Sunday . DH says I'm going to switch from "stay put there baby" to "right out you come now" at about 11 pm on Sunday! I am being good however, I'm bouncing on my ball (backache) taking a walk every day, eating normally (not actively eating curry but not avoiding either) and reasonably generous with sex - considering!

YOur sniffin sponge talk made me laugh. I tried it in the bath last night. It is good. Having had no wierd cravings or anything earlier in pregnancy I now however am obsessed with the smell of cheap shoes in Primark. I could go in there every day and wander round just breathing in. I'll be getting a reputation as a very strange lady. Maybe the sponge wil help keep the obsession at bay.

Consultant appt tomorrow where I will be resisting any notions of sweeps/inductions etc for at least a few more weeks.

And it's sunny again - back to breakfasting in the garden! Funny how much nicer Monday's are when you're on mat leave!

soontobefatnat · 19/07/2010 12:03

Hooray!! Another baby! Finally, you slackers!

Congrats to Emster and fam. Hope everyone's recovering nicely! Xx

vitapulchra · 19/07/2010 12:25

Congratulations Emster!

thedogwalker · 19/07/2010 12:30

Congratulations Emster so happy for you and DH.

Having been away for the weekend with DH, I expected to come back to the news of a few of you having popped, so I was quite surprised that only Emster has made it to the delivery suite.

Well I have now 27 days to go but I have told my LO I want him to arrive in about 14 days time, I'm getting so impatient, I just want to meet him.

Well good luck to all of you who are close, I wish you good luck and I can't wait to read your birth stories.

Take care xx

Alicetheinvisible · 19/07/2010 12:31

Congratulations Emster!!!!!!!!

I have told baby he can come from next monday. Friday night i want to see Razorlight, sat DH is on duty and sunday he is working too. So monday would be good!

vix206 · 19/07/2010 12:31

Wow congratulations Emster! Me and DH were just eating our pack lunches at work and having a gentle disagreement about when we should set our birth pool up (I'm just 36 weeks today) when I got the most sharp pain (like a shooting pain) that went right up inside me twice and totally stopped me from talking and breathing. It was a split second thing, happened twice in quick succession and I'm sure I felt my abdomen tighten at the same time.

As a clueless first timer, does that sound like a contraction or just a random pain?

It cut me off mid sentence and when it stopped I had no idea what I had been talking about!! Been fine since though...

vix206 · 19/07/2010 12:38

Hmm just answered my own question actually, probably baby shifting/pressing against cervix or something that caused the shooting pain. Still think I won the 'lets get the birthing pool out sooner rather than later' argument quite nicely though! Was great timing

ElusiveMoose · 19/07/2010 12:50

Hooray, congratulations Emster !! Can't wait to hear more from you!

Sorry to lower the tone, but I'm having a properly rubbish day today. Just found out that car can't now be mended until Thursday (was meant to be tomorrow). DS threw up in pre-school so I had to bring him home - not sure yet if it's a bug, but waiting eagerly to find out given that I have no water supply today or tomorrow because of the plumbers . And have just found out that I will need a new boiler after all as part of the loft conversion (was hoping to avoid it), so that's another couple of grand down the drain...

Grumble, grumble.
