And if any final donations could be in by Tuesday PM too?

Thanks again everyone xxx

soontobefatnat · 09/07/2010 17:38

Thanks so much for sorting this Pample. great stuff!

Um, excuse the moan - but OH MY effin DAYS it is too hot in London right now. While waiting for the bus just now, me and this other pregnant woman gave each other the dying cow look, unable to speak. And my bus is on a go slow where the driver just trundles along at about 2mph and then sits at the stops for ages. Thank GOD I'm on my way to the Lido. Bit worried there will be a giant queue though. Hopeful face

pamplem0usse · 09/07/2010 17:39

I'm also enclosing a picture of Belle's rose with the card, as it won't arrive with her until November.

This is the text I was thinking of; feel free to amend as appropriate, or tell me if you think any of the content may cause undue upset.

'The Beatrix Potter rose Is a pale pink rose with a subtle scent that resembles a rose painted by Beatrix Potter herself. The ladies felt that this rose beautifully reflected the hopes and dreams you had for little Belle, as a feminine little girl with a love of pink. We also felt that the Beatrix Potter link was particularly apt, in reflecting the perpetual childhood that Belle will enjoy.

The rose will arrive with you in late Autumn (likely around November) ready for planting in a pot. We didn?t want you to have an empty pot sitting around, so instead have enclosed National Gardening Vouchers. Almost all Garden Centres accept these, and they should be sufficient for you to choose a nice pot, come November, and buy any rose feed that might be needed (and maybe a bit left over for coffee and cake in their café for you and your DH).

We hope that this will help you commemorate little Belle and come to terms with her loss. It?s beautiful blooms should also help provide a link between Belle and the future family that is waiting in the future for you. '

Lovely Pample

soontobefatnat · 09/07/2010 17:47

Lido update - MASSIVE queue. Do you think if I put on my dying cow face, they'll take pity on me?

No... Me neither. Balls.

soontobefatnat · 09/07/2010 17:49

Sorry, here I am, drivelling on, and Pample is doing real work. Beautiful words.

Alicetheinvisible · 09/07/2010 17:55

Dying cow about sums up how i feel at the moment too.

DD is restless and keeps climbing on me. "Mummy do this, mummy do that, mummy over here, do this, make this, i want that" i swear to god i am losing it! Doesn't help that i am sweating like a pig and DD keeps diggig her nails into my sunburn

mrsZaC · 09/07/2010 17:55

hang on in there nat you'll make it!

well done pample that sounds perfect

I'm about to join the flustered commuters in making my mad dash home to hopefully arrive before my viewers to tidy up as much as I can possibly manage before they arrive, god it makes me so frustraited that it's probably all in vain! ah well you never know. Happy weekend ladies!!

CellyD · 09/07/2010 18:40

That's lovely pample. Thanks to everyone for organising it.

I too was felt like a dying cow on the way home. Especially when no one offered me a seat on the tube , I don't like to ask as I know no one told me to get pregnant, but you always hope someone will be kind. Still all better now, DP is making me dinner and I've got my feet up - doing battle with the cankles.

vitapulchra · 09/07/2010 20:33

Pample et al who've been organising Belle's memorial--thank you so much for doing it. I donated via Paypal but don't want that message included since it was just for my id. From me would you please say, "Dear Caz and DH, My thoughts and prayers have been with you often. Your strength, love and devotion to your little Belle have touched all of our lives. I wish you comfort and hope as you remember her together."

vitapulchra · 09/07/2010 20:42

May I ask a silly question? I've been concerned this entire pg about feeling LO's movement. I rarely feel him move at all, but if I sit down and try to concentrate on it, I can make out just enough to meet the general guidelines, i.e. 10 movements in 24 hours. My mw, who is fabulous, keeps reassuring me that it's just because I'm busy that I don't notice. But here's the thing--even when I DO notice, it's so slight. I've never had a single vigorous kick, a long bout of action, no discernible hiccuping, etc. Any movement is very gentle (to my mind, weak). This is DC4 and it's very different from any of my others, which is why I worry. On the other hand, I've always worried while pg about something, so maybe I should just trust my mw (and both my scans have been fine). Also, does the fact that I'm 1 stone heavier than previous pgs account for my feeling so much less?

Ach, I'm probably being very silly. LO is very well on his way to being big, as in officially LGA. I haven't had any real problems. Please do tell me off if you think I need it.

Schulte · 09/07/2010 20:55

Sorry for butting in but are you sure your baby is head down... I felt less kicking with DD2 and it turns out the reason for that was that she was breech and simply didn't have a chance to kick.

vitapulchra · 09/07/2010 21:26

Yes, like a good boy. Definitely head down.

ElusiveMoose · 09/07/2010 22:45

Hi Pample, I love what you've written, and I think I am probably your mystery CT.

Well, I'm having the day from hell. Remember I was stuck in the library while Kwik Fit mended my newly fitted exhaust yesterday? Well, it went wrong again within about four hours of taking it home. I took it to VW today to get a second opinion and they said that KF had done a totally appalling job with a completely inadequate part, and that it almost certainly hadn't needed a whole new system in the first place. Went to KF armed with this opinion, who told me that VW 'would say that' - so who the hell do you believe?? Anyway, have bullied KF into giving me my money back - but, VW are going to charge me TWO GRAND to fit a proper part, which is money that we completely can't afford at the moment. Plus, I seem to have done my knee in - can barely bend my leg at all today. Plus, even though my builders are wonderful, they (unavoidably) created a massive amount of mess and dust and noise today, which is slightly getting me down. Plus, I'm getting grief from one of my neighbours about the location of our skip, purely because she happened to reverse into it and damage her car . Oh, and I've been getting some really weird sideways movements from the baby today, which kind of feel like he might have turned transverse?? For the first time since I've been pregnant I just sat down and cried this evening.

Really sorry for the 'me' post - just had to come on and vent. Will try to come on in a more positive frame of mind tomorrow.

cazzybabs · 09/07/2010 22:57

I am CH pamplem0usse..

school has broken up horrah... I am soo tired I had enough today plus it was soo hot.

Going to a ball tomorrow so fingers crossed my ankles stay small

ElusiveMoose - I felt like that on Weds after my hospital appointment..infact I did cry but today I feel more postive although I still find it hard to belive I am going to end up with a new baby at the end...I am convinced something is going to go wrong. After the joy of gthe new bathroom we are now having our roof redone...joy!!!

vitapulchra - I rarely feel the baby move in the day but it is active at night. DD3 was on a 2 day cycle..1 day she sould be really active, the 2nd she would be tired. If you are worried phone your hospital but be warned you will be on a monitor for hours and they may not let you out

Joey30 · 10/07/2010 07:47

Hi everyone
Couldnt sleep so I'm drinking tea and watching baby programs on Home and Health!

That was a lovely message pample- thanks for all you have done.

vitapulchra if you are really worried speak to your doctor/ midwife to put your mind at rest. Every baby is different- he is probably a really chilled out baby!- and if hes a big baby he might not have as much room to move around!

Really looking forward to this weekend- my mam and dad and visiting and cant wait to see them plus mams bringing cheesecake! Also going to my second antenatal class at 9.30- told to bring a cushion so I think we are doing breathing! All that talk about the head engaging etc makes it seem real!

Has anyone tourned their maternity unit? Did this this week and it was really reassuring- seems really nice! Huge birthing pools! Heard a woman screaming and was told by midwife doing tour that "someone has trapped their fingers in the door"! Hmmmmm!

Alicetheinvisible · 10/07/2010 07:53

Elusive my car recently went wrong and the Mercedes garage told me it was going to be £1400, despite the fact i had spent £400 on it the week before getting it completely serviced/safety checked etc. They were very rude as well, despite always having been nice. I gave them my pg woman rant

A friend takes her Merc to an independant garage that deals with all cars, but has several specialist mechanics working for them. They got the job done for £370! A friend of mine has had dreadful trouble with kwick fit and had to get refunded from them too. I would try a 3rd opinion tbh.

Sorry for the long car post

Cazzy have fun at the ball.

Vita i think some babies are just less active, but agree that if you have any worry, please get it checked

Had a bad back again yesterday, but think baby has moved again, back on the gym ball.....

vix206 · 10/07/2010 09:57

Hello lovelies, I just wanted to pop on and say a big thank you to everyone who is working so hard on the arrangements for the card and roses. The message is beautiful, and I am also really happy that we are able to give so much to the charity too. So huge thanks xx

Anyway, off for a busy weekend - cot and mattress arriving, DH finishing painting nursery then putting the cot up and tomorrow is hospital bag packing day (having home birth but packing emergency bag in case) and desperately trying not to be grumpy (am so uncomfortable and tired all the time at the moment).

Hope you all have a good weekend

vitapulchra · 10/07/2010 10:15

Thanks for the rational advice, ladies. I'm sure you all are right--and I especially like the idea of having a very chilled out baby My DH says I worry far too much.

Elusive Sorry about your awful day. Two grand for fitting new exhaust does seem extreme. I've tried avoiding our Volvo dealer because we were charged £700 last summer to fix the rear parking sensors ! I've finally found an independent garage that seems to be able to cope with it just fine.

My kids and I saw a week-old newborn with its mother at DD's swim class, and my heart just melted (so did theirs). Makes me feel like I can't wait to meet mine!

bouncingblueberries · 10/07/2010 10:27

Morning ladies

god it's so hot already - I'm sweating just sitting here!

elusive that's terrible about your car - hate it when companies try to rip you off hope you get it sorted for a lot less money soon!

vix that sounds like an exciting weekend! Hope the cot assembly goes better than these things do in my house - the air usually turns blue and dh always manages to injure himself!

I'm seriously fed-up today. Was convinced I'd be cuddling a newborn by now, but not so much as a show so far. I just feel ready. I've done all my nesting, I've slept for Scotland and just feel on edge now. Grump grump grump. Also, because I was so convinced I'd go into labour any day, all the shopping, ironing etc is all done!

Grrrrrrr.

Sorry for being such a grump.

thedogwalker · 10/07/2010 10:31

Good morning

pample I am PD, they are my maiden name initials. The message is beautiful. Thanks for writing it as I am useless with anything like that.

Well it was 38 degrees here yesterday and it is supposed to be hotter today, I will end up looking like this . Got a rather large paddling pool in the garden which is where i am heading, to try and keep cool.

Hope everyone has a nice day, take care
