Hi,

Is anyone expecting a March baby?

I've just found out I'm pg following a mc in April at 12 weeks, so I need some company

Linda - POAS!!!

Evian thanks for the info.

I spoke to doc today and she was very helpful. Confirmed no need to go in and see the doc, they will refer me straight to the midwife for an appointment. doc just mentioned all the stuff I already know about not smoking or drinking and taking folic acid etc, then that's that! The midwife is apparently in today so she's going to phone me back herself later and make my booking in appointment, which they said they would do as soon as can fit me in!

welcome to Ocean, Sarah and polka.

spilt hope things work out ok at your work.

I have stopped POASing for now but I did do 4 or 5 days in a row at first!

symptom-wise, my boobs really hurt when I first wake up in the morning and also later in the evening, but ok during the day.
and still very slightly nauseous but nothing too bad.
and I also have aches a bit like period pains that come and go, they are not too bad but hope this is ok. I think it is only a bad sign if a very bad/sharp pain or is accompanied by bleeding??? anyone else having period-pain-style aches?

I'll pop back later and let you know when I've spoken to midwife.

snapdragon3 · 06/07/2010 14:57

Superpenguin hope she calls soon. I think periody type pains are okay if you don't get them badly and no bleeding but you could mention it to MW for your own peace of mind.

I seem to remember being quite freaked by lots of aches and niggles early on with the other babies, convinced I was about to miscarry. But every time I've had a MC (even the first time), there's been no doubt in my mind. The pain then has been a far more purposeful, crampy, mini-contractiony type pain. This time, I've had a lot of tender, mild periody type pain but it seems to fit with stretching discomfort, which comes and goes rather than being there all the time and getting worse.

superpenguin · 06/07/2010 15:09

oh why hasn't she called yet?

superpenguin · 06/07/2010 15:26

she called!!!
I have my booking in appointment on 30th july.

and she asked where I wanted to have my baby!! (er, how should I know???) apparently I can choose any hospital I like in the country!
don't want to give away my location but anyway I am going for the nearest one!

gemmasetters · 06/07/2010 15:34

Loving reading all this - especially people who have symptoms like me!

I feel bloated and like I have done a million situps - and have all sorts of weird pains (including period type pains if that helps Superpenguin). Thank gods my 'morning' sickness goes as soon as I eat - last pregnancy(s) I just felt sick all day and all night regardless. Will be digging out the seasickness bands, but worried relatives will notice them! Damn this good weather

Didn't know I could use an ovulation test - I have run out of preg tests! (OK, only had 2) - will give that a go. It would be nice to see a definite line, even though I know I am pg (not sure where the sense is in that though!)

mixedmamameansbusiness · 06/07/2010 15:40

Oh everyday I contemplate buying a digital test for a clear answer. Why are we so obsessed with this?

lindamgw · 06/07/2010 16:47

I P-edOAS!

But it was negative!!!

Not quite sure what to make of it yet, am currently thinking because my last AF was on 35 days that this one may also be, if it is it says on the due date calculator that my conception date was the 27th June (which would be correct)...

I shall wait until day 35 is up and see what there is to see. My "sticks" are only accurate from 4 days prior to AF and it's probably currently too soon.

Will keep you updated.

superpenguin · 06/07/2010 16:54

Linda
it's probably too early to tell then, but it's not over til AF arrives!
In the meanwhile you might be worth checking out the march trying to conceive thread which is here:

BUnderTheBonnet · 06/07/2010 19:48

Hi guys!

Not much to report here except crushing tiredness. It was my DD's first taster afternoon at school today, so I was at home at least, and not at work, but I've got to go in tomorrow. And the day after. And the day after...

As for morning sickness strategies, I have a glass of Bottlegreen's Ginger and Lemongrass cordial by the bed, which seems to do the trick, even though it tastes foul.

spilttheteaagain · 06/07/2010 20:05

Ugh I hope this is not a sign of things to come... I have been continually nauseous since I opened my eyes at 5.45am Had about 1 hour off.

I was nearly sick in my lap driving to work and decided I just couldn't face it. Too tired, too sicky and frankly I've got bugger all to do at work at the moment and haven't had a sick day in 18 months. So I came home and spent all day in PJs in bed feeling sick/on sofa feeling sick/sleeping. My red bucket is with me at all times.

I am miserable.

flower11 · 06/07/2010 20:28

hi can i join you, got BFP on sat, tested again on mon just to make sure.
PG #1 EDD 7/3/11

jeffily · 06/07/2010 21:07

Aw Spilt. Sorry you're feeling rubbish. A day on the settee sounds nice though, even accompanied by a red bucket!

Nothing much to report here, except still feeling faintly sick and wanting to eat hundreds of crispy apples and grapes. Had this last time too, glad that it has moved on from S&V pringles or I would be the size of a house by the time this little one arrives!

Mixedmama, I have been really worrying about how on earth I am going to cope with my DD and this newbie. I've always carried her loads, and just recently started using the buggy in the hopes of getting her used to it before new baby arrives. She just wants holding/cuddling ALL the time, and if she is not getting it (because I might dare to go to the toilet and not want her in there with me !) she screams and throws herself around on the floor. Just hoping that consistently not responding to that sort of tantrum will do the trick. Not seeming to work so far....

I'm working tomorrow, so must stop larking about on MN and sort out clothes/lunches/lifts for the 3 of us.
Sleep well all!

flower11 · 06/07/2010 21:07

superpenguin im having period type pains too mainly acorss my lower back, it seems they are quite common from reading around on here.It seems we are due on the same day and i have my booking in appointment on the 30th aswell!

Celia76 · 06/07/2010 21:22

Welcome and congrats to everyone new, I think this thread will be a brilliant support for us all over the next few months!

My sickness kicked in today (6 weeks) just as it did with DSs, felt yucky at work and deathly tired (despite going to bed at 8.30 last night!! How rock 'n roll!), but also reassured that I actually feel preg now. Mendipgirl - no discomfort in my boobs either, which I definitely had in last preg, trying not to think about that!

I have my mw booking in appt - but have to cancel it as I'm running my own clinic that morning (I'm a nurse), and I need to give 6 weeks to cancel clinics. Hope to re-book it, but not too bothered - I know what they'll do and say etc etc!

bluebeach · 06/07/2010 22:24

Congratulations all the newbies!!! I am still hesitantly waiting for sickness to hit me, only having slight waves at the moment. Sorry for all you guys feeling really rotten, esp split it sounds horrid.

Weird symptom, illuminous yellow wee??

Also, as a normally tiny chested girl I am loving having more boobs and am to admit checking them out a bit too many times a day. I might have to see what I can hold between them (very bored as DP is away on school trip). Is lovely to feel all womanly for once!

Mum2G · 07/07/2010 07:04

Morning ladies! Welcome to the newbies and congratulations Fingers crossed for you linda

Sorry about the sickness spilt, good advice from Snap, just try and take one day at a time (hard i know), if you are being sick more than three times a day it might be good to get checked at the doctors to make sure you are not getting too dehydrated - (not trying to worry you), another thing you can do if you are continually being very sick is buy 'ketostix' - urine dipsticks from the chemist, then you can keep a check on this at home)

Lol bluebeach i am only just starting to get sore boobs, I read that if you have been pregnancy before then they have already changed so soreness can be less in later pregnancies.

It was my 8th wedding anniversary yesterday, had a lovely evening and went to the theatre and had a lovely meal, I could only eat half of each course - shame! Had a banana and caramel eton mess for pud yummy! For an anniversary present from my MIL we got a carbon monoxide detector

I am also getting period type pains at times and have a very tender tummy, i really don't like anything touching it. I have bright yellow pee too bluebeach - was thinking it might be the vitamin supplaments?

Jeffily I am no expert but I would say you are doing the right thing, sure your dd will get the message eventually, they don't give up easily do they!

I have just booked for us to go and see Noddy at the weekend, i hope ds sits through it, he got bored halfway through Astroboy when we took him to the cinema for the first time a few weeks ago ie; once he had eaten his own sweets and most of our popcorn

Have a good day all

jeffily · 07/07/2010 07:11

Am late for work, so really shd not even be reading MN let alone posting, but had to at your present from you MIL Mum2G! How romantic!

Not looking forward to today- huge issues betweenn kids in my class that need sorting out, so hard with only 3 wks left of term. Why does time seem to slow down when you have a holiday coming up?

Have a good day all!

snapdragon3 · 07/07/2010 08:36

Spilt you poor thing. It's awful when you feel so ill. When expecting DD, I wanted to hit people who told me to get a grip, it was just MS. Was so relieved when got a diagnosis of hyperemesis as thought I was being a wimp. Good advice from Mum2G - if you are actually being sick several times a day, see your GP. I'm on the verge of doing so. Nowhere near as bad with DD but I am being sick a lot and feel pants. DS keeps chucking toys in my bowl.....

Went to the dentist to see the hygienist yesterday and the 20min appt took 40mins, as we had to break off so often .

Flower welcome and congrats to you - and all the other new ladies.
Linda definitely wait a week and check again. I was convinced I was pg and tested so often I spent a fortune as they kept coming back neg. Got the BFP eventually. Keep us posted

Mum2G that's a howler of a gift!

Love to all. Gotta get kids ready now - bye

Mum2G · 07/07/2010 08:50

A bit anxious as i just had some light bleeding as if period starting, and then felt nauseus and was sick - am confused so have made a drs appt for later this morning - am i right in thinking you can still bleed whilst pregnant?

polkadottytotty · 07/07/2010 09:07

Could be implantation bleeding

Try not to worry - hope the doctors appt goes well.

EvianBaby · 07/07/2010 09:07

Hi Mum2G - just a quick reply cos i should be in a meeting at work but i couldn't read your post and leave it. I'm sure you will be fine, a know friends who have had bleeding through their pregnancies and have had healthy babies. You're doing the right thing by going to the doctors though. I have had light spotting since last week also. I hope your appt goes well, let us know how you get on. Take care

spilttheteaagain · 07/07/2010 09:10

Mum2G yes bleeding in early pg is quite common, but certainly worth seeing your doc to check things out. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about.

Thanks all for your sympathy and suggestions. I am off to see the doc today about the sickness. I'm still not actually being sick (but have have a few v.near misses) but the nausea is so bad, so relentless and continuous that I just cannot function. No way I can drive 40 mins to work and actually work. All I can do is lie still sipping water and checking my bucket is there in case. I need drugs or I need to be signed off for a couple of weeks to see how things go. Humph.

Rung my boss this morning and told him and he said "Congratulations, and take it easy", so I will do just that.

Hope your GP can help you snapdragon.

Fingers crossed I get a sympathetic one.

sunchild77 · 07/07/2010 09:10

Aww Mum2G how scary! I'll bet that it will be implantation bleeding, apparently its very common around 5/6 weeks. Good that you've made a Drs appt though, hopefully they can put your mind a rest a bit....Good luck and keep us posted...

Hi to the newies

split how you feeling today so far?

spilttheteaagain · 07/07/2010 09:21

x-posts sunchild. Like a bag of sh*t.

How about you?

Mum2G · 07/07/2010 09:34

Thanks Ladies, i have got a 10.15 appt so i haven't got too long to wait, and my dh is coming with me, i am hoping they will do a blood test - will keep you posted

Sorry to hear that Spilt, it is horrible when you feel like that, cos you don't feel like doing anything even reading and watching tv can be difficult, can't it - I said to the GP that i wanted care from somone who knew about hg and wasn't going to judge me cos i would need their support - my hands were shaking with nerves whilst i said it but i was determined that i said it - i hope you get a supportive response.
