DuelingFanjo · 01/07/2010 11:42

japhrimel I've not felt anything yet. I am half way through 16 weeks so hoping that I feel something soon though I have read that it might not happen until 18 weeks.

Lavitabella · 01/07/2010 11:48

Japhrimel Thanks for the tip about Gatorade - working wonders, still weeing like a racehorse though

I feel flutters, DP was certain he felt something last night but it was my tummy rumbling!

OnlyWantsOne · 01/07/2010 12:44

Im feeling wobbles and wiggles - and the odd kick, but its only when I sit down in the evening and DD is asleep - the rest of the day I think I'm too destracted.

How's everyones bellys rate of expansion? I have now put on a stone - i weigh 11 stone, but I still have a waist - and got wolf whistled the other day (which normally I hate) but currently, it must prove i dont look like a pregnant whale from behind!!

Strix · 01/07/2010 12:45

Oh, I missed the gatorade bit. I would just like to say that I am big fan of Gatorade. It is the only sports drink I have found which is not loaded with chemical sweetners. And I don't like to feed unborn babies with chemical crap.

Now, this coffee/meet-up plan... who wants to come? Is West London okay for people? Do we want to eat? Lunch? Dinner? I'm flexible. It would just be nice to meet some others in person.

I am off for lunch in beautiful Staines. I am sooooooo hungry might buy two lunches so I can eat one before I get back to the office and then eat another one when no one realises I've already had one. I'll try to restain myself but can't really make any promises in my state.

Chooster · 01/07/2010 13:32

Ah, enjoy lunch strix - I love din Staines before moving up to Edinburgh - I miss it!

PJen · 01/07/2010 13:52

DF whoohoo...... great news!!!

SlightlyTired you are great! THANK YOU! Some of the Seraphine and wonder mummy clothes are cute!! I am ordering like crazy... Viva to being pregnant and have a reason for shopping!!!

Sorry to hear that you are having depression Emma. In the beginning of pregnancy I was angry everyday and felt like crap! In the first 14 weeks I ate whoever's head that disagreed with me at work but now I am quiet opposite... I am happy, smile at people and feel like my normal self again! What did the doctor say? Will it go away later?

emma2617 · 01/07/2010 14:35

Thanks PJen he said that there is no link between AND and PND which was a big concern for me after having PND with DS and that some women find it just disappears straight after birth! In the meantime the pills I am on worked wonders with my PND so I am hoping they do the same this time. I have to go back in 3 weeks to see the same doctor so he can review how I am feeling etc. I have always been a self-depricating kind of person with phrases like "im rubbsh" and "im shit" being common place, but when you actually start to believe them it is horrible feeling.

I am just counting the days until my 20 week scan, it is 5 weeks today, by which time the pills should be working and I will have been away for 4 days in the sun so should be feeling tonnes better!

Also, glad there is a few of us with a heavy pelvic floor!!!

Strix · 01/07/2010 14:58

Emma, that's great that one does not lead to the other. I hav never had PND but I hear it is truly horrible.

I don't about this heavy pelvic floor thing. Maybe you all have extra fat babies in there.

jools70 · 01/07/2010 15:26

Hi all, had scan last week and got a 1:8 chance of DS. It was the bloods that are high so we are having a Quad Blood test next week and then having a 16 week scan before deciding if we want to have the amnio.

Been a bit depressed the last couple of days and now I have Pelvic Girdle Pain PGP, the pain is in my left bum cheek and it is really bad. Feel as things are going from bad to worse all the time.

This pregancy has not been an easy one, sorry to have a real moan

DuelingFanjo · 01/07/2010 15:30

Oh jools so sorry to hear your odds are so high. Was teh nuchal measurement low?

I completely sympathise, although mine wasn't that high a risk I do know how hard a wait it is.

If it's any reassurance at all I found the Amnio to be ok. Thinking of you.

Chooster · 01/07/2010 15:49

Sorry to hear about the odds Jools... Hope you are doing OK. When will your 16 week scan be taking place?

Strix · 01/07/2010 15:58

Oh, sorry Jools. I too understand how difficult it is. Can you get a CVS earlier than waiting for the amnio (if you want one)?

japhrimel · 01/07/2010 16:20

I'm sorry jools70.

It's probably the last thing on your mind right now, but I highly recommend getting a myofascial release massage if you can - your pain may be muscular rather than from the pelvic joints themselves.

aimee0211 · 01/07/2010 16:24

Jools that's awful, keeping everything crossed for you.

Haven't been on for a few days and it is hard to remember what you have all posted lol so apologies for my terrible MNetting skills.

I was just wondering whether you are telling people the baby names you are thinking of, or keeping them to yourselves? I decided last night that (at least in RL) I am keeping the possible names to myself from now on, after some mixed reactions that have now put me off names that I liked.

Also decided today that I'm not finding out the sex (although will probably change my mind 500 times in the next two weeks )

Strix · 01/07/2010 16:34

aimee, I have a friend who had a child when we were in high school (so many many years ago). She told a few people what the name was and got unfavourable replies (regretfully I believe I was one of those people) so she neamed the child y. She never really liked the name y. Sadly, y died when she was 10. Said friend was pregnant again a few years later and she was adomate she didn't care what anyone thought of the name. I kept my mouth shut that time.

I felt so bad that the poor child had died and my friend didn't really ever even like her name.

Basically, I think if you care what the public reaction is then tell people. If you really just want a name you are happy with and don't want people's opinions then keep it to yourself.

And I am slightly that you get to pick the name yourself with having to negotiate with a DH.

I have never been able to understand people who don't want to know the sex.

DuelingFanjo · 01/07/2010 16:44

aimee0211 I have discussed the names I like with my mum and my DH's mum but am not involving anyone else as I know people will dislike them

aimee0211 · 01/07/2010 16:51

Strix lol at the fact that anyone would be jealous of me Even when I was with my bf I had choice over names because he has no opinion on anything ever and so was happy to go along with whatever I pick, despite me trying to get him involved with names.

DF that sounds like a good idea for the most part, although personally I would rather not talk to ExBF's mum as according to her I am the devil incarnate haha!!!

I guess the reason I'm not finding out the sex is because of the reactions I have had when telling people I am finding out...can you tell I'm a very easily influenced teenager?

CherylAnnTweedy · 01/07/2010 16:57

Jools - sorry to hear your risk is so high.

Emma - sorry to hear you are suffering with AND, but glad you've seen your dr and hopefully will go when baby is born.

Aimee - We've told DP's family our girls name, everyone expects there to be a Cheryl in there somewhere (and that will be our girl middle name)! I did a thread on here about it as we were unsure due to a famous person we don't like but hadn't thought about and didn't want a name associated with a slapper basically! But had favourable reactions mostly and we like it so we don't care, he hee! Boys names, we have the middle name sorted (it will be my surname) and I think we're both sorted on first name. We both like it, but I'm not one for having names that can be shortened, that's the only thing putting me off of it, but there aren't any unshortanable names that I like.

I also won't be finding out the sex. Didn't with my boys. I want the surprise when baby is born, and I'm the other way round to you Strix, don't understand why people do want to find out. That to me would be such a let down .

I'm off to see ds1's sign language concert tonight. Can't wait!

CherylAnnTweedy · 01/07/2010 16:59

aimee - don't worry about what other people say. If you want to find out the sex, do it! Most people seem to nowadays, my mw the other day said I was the only one that day she'd seen who didn't know or wasn't going to find out.

mumatron · 01/07/2010 17:43

hello all. not been on for agggess. keep getting migranes.

15+1 today, feels like time is going so incredibly slow right now.

fab news df!. have you had your date for your next scan yet? a lady i work with didn't get her 18-20 week scan until 24 weeks i had my dating scan at 11 weeks, cant wait until 24. thats just mental torture!

i'm not telling anyone in rl any names. everytime i do they get used and i go off them [anger]. i will probably going to find out the sex too. i would like the suprise but dp really wants to know.

i'm feeling the baby quite a bit now. i didnt feel my st until 19 weeks and 2nd until 15 so its been nice.

and wrt to weight gain, i have only put on 2lbs, but my bump is pretty big now!

Miffster · 01/07/2010 17:54

as ever, have been reading but not commenting because of work and not having time to reply individually to people.

Aimee and Jodie been especially thinking of you having such a tough time and sorry too to hear of emma's difficulties

Jools, sorry to hear of your risk worries. Seven out of eight chance of it not being DS - hoping for you.

DF, kept checking in hoping to hear your news - hooray that it is so good!

I have good news - my bro has been released early - he has responded well to the bone marrow transplant and is now better off convalescing at home rather than in a horrible isolation room at the hospital!

So happy about that -and also relieved I no longer have to keep making the 1.5 hour each way journey to visit him in hospital after work as that was a strain.

Have also taken flat off market, whilst waiting to hear about DH getting job abroad or not. Have decided we will move after baby, not before. Original plan was to sell this summer, rent autumn/winter, then move abroad with baby age 3 months in spring. This way cuts out one house move which is good - and no more bloody viewings involving frenzied cleaning and hiding all personal possessions!

I need to nest, not move!
The waiting to know if we are emigrating or not is killing us both.

notso · 01/07/2010 19:27

Evening all

I feel fantastic for the first time since my BFP! Am 15 weeks tomorrow. Really busy though making cakes for work, so I'm not replying to all just the few posts who have caught my eye, hope everyone is well.

Miffster great news about your brother, you must all be releived.

Strix I have never been able to understand people who do want to know the sex

jools sorry you are having to face difficult decisions, when is your scan?

Emma so sorry about the depression, hope you get sorted, at least you've had it diagnosed early. I had PND with DD and used to have terrible thoughts which I won't horrify you with, pretty much cried all the time, and didn't leave the house for weeks on end but I didn't think I was depressed enough to go to the doctors so didn't get treatment until she was 18 months old.

japhrimel What is Gatorade?

CherylAnnTweedy · 01/07/2010 19:36

Oh Miffster so pleased to hear your brother is doing well and is back home. What good news.

DuelingFanjo · 01/07/2010 19:57

hey there mumatron my 20 week scan is 22 July when I will be just under 20 weeks according to my dates but just over 20 weeks according to theirs.

miffster so glad to hear your brother is doing well

Strix · 02/07/2010 10:42

Gatorade is a sports drink.
