Hugs hugs to all that need them and I see Dilly already dish out slaps to those that need them too!

Have been offline as been very tired and busy. Had bad tummy ache yesterday and felt like I was dragging heavy weight around so took to my bed at 8pm, where baby got all excited kicking away merrily and release some trapped wind! So felt bit better once wind pressure was released! Didn't get to sleep until after 11pm so still feel tired today, but at least it's my day off so can just chill, even though there's lots to be done in house - ah well the cobwebs can wait I'm putting my feet up!

Am 24 weeks today - yay!

This baby I am convinced is much more active than DD was - wonder if it is because it's a boy?

Anyway gonna toddle off again - take care.

AbFabT · 08/07/2010 11:59

Thanks for all the ideas and support. Just a quick one as I want to get to a gym class now, but been to GP, she signed me off for a month, with a view to signing me off again thereafter for the duration of my pregnancy.

So, no more clogging up this thread with my work dramas - I'm all about the baby now!

I'll reply to anything I've missed when I am back from the gym.

Thanks to you all, you've all been great. x

Wow! Good call from the GP! Congrats AbFab!

tiredfeet · 08/07/2010 12:10

delighted for you abfab its definitely a good decision by the gp. Enjoy the gym class and I hope the weight starts to life from your shoulders and you can enjoy getting excited about baby abfab

Hermya321 · 08/07/2010 12:15

Abfab Great news!! Fabulous decision by the GP, enjoy the gym class.

shieldbug · 08/07/2010 12:15

hooray abfab good news. As you say, you can just concentrate on the baby now. What a relief, I'm sure. I'm so pleased.

Elsa123 · 08/07/2010 12:21

Thats great news AbFabT congratulations! jealous of your gym time!

piesey · 08/07/2010 12:21

Lots to catch upon today.

AbFab I'm so angry for you about that stupid micromanager woman. She sounds like a complete idiot. Defeniitely do as others have suggested and make a note and confirm everything on email. Things that are written down are much more powerful and farmore difficult to talk her way out of.

Elsa Glad your meeting went well but what a horrible blood test experince!

Mamjo I can't believe they won't let you have a parking space - how mean! Hope your hip gets better - it sounds very painful.

Hermya I completely understand how you are feeling about being a bridesmaid - it is a lot of pressure and not great when you are feeling a bit pants. I hope your friend understands about you wanting to take a step back. Is there anyway you could wear a different dress that you would feel more comfortable in? That might help a bit. You look great in the pictures you posted and I'm sure you will look lovely and blooming on the day, even if you don't feel it. I'm dreading being a bridesmaid too as it's going to be very hot where the wedding is and I'm terrible in the heat. I get very red and sweaty. I'm also very pale so all my veins are showing through, especially on my chest - at least the blue of the dress I'm wearing will match them I guess!

Hi Bionicear glad you are ok - I was 24 weeks yesterday so we are nearly the same. It still feels like a long way to go!

piesey · 08/07/2010 12:22

Ooo AbFab just seen your update - that's great! Glad that you have been signed off - enjoy your gym time too!

mamjo · 08/07/2010 12:28

that's great news abfab just enjoy the summer run in to mummydom!!!! hooray!!

DillyDora · 08/07/2010 12:38

LOL at your veins piesy I am the same - my boobs look like I've drawn a London Underground Map on them!! Love your dress though, tres glam (mind you... I like Hermya's dress too and think she looks very skinny in it...)

piesey · 08/07/2010 12:58

Thanks Dilly about the dress! I agree - Hermya does looks very slim in that dress. I know what you mean about the London Underground Map though...they are all over my belly too!

Hermya321 · 08/07/2010 13:20

Thank you for your comments, I do feel like I've made the right decision though. It may have been a bit different if there had been a bit more time (only knew about the wedding about two weeks ago). This way I'll feel a lot more comfortable and more able to enjoy the day and not be a misery for my friend.

nymphadora · 08/07/2010 14:13

Good news Abfab

Glad you're sorte dHermya

dilly just go and slap everyone who is pissing us off that'll save us time

elsa glad it looks like your MW issues are sorted

mamjo hope you get a parking space soon

stretchmarks- I had nothing until about 36 weeks with dd1, I remember sayingt o xh and he got me a mirror. They were all in my blind spot under my bump anyway they soon cam over and I have a couple of inches gap before the ones on my chest. I didn't seem to get any more with dd2 but my stomach is that full you wouldn't notice!

Got my nappy voucher today & have booked appt wioth the nappy lady for August as she is going on hols soon. Will be dragging dh there too (and prob dds )

piesey · 08/07/2010 14:16

Goodness I didn't realise you only found out two weeks ago! That is quite short notice about being a bridesmaid. I think you have made the right decision and I hope your friend understands - I'm sure she will and wouldn't want you feeling uncomfortable on the day either. xx

Hermya321 · 08/07/2010 14:24

Nymph I've got my voucher as well, I've been getting very very excited about the thought of building up my cloth nappy collection.

Pisey Thanks for that.

nymphadora · 08/07/2010 14:27

hermya are you looking at the lady near me or the one near you? Is there much near you baby shop wise? I haven't checked yet,

nymphadora · 08/07/2010 14:28

Oh & if I keep posting we could have another trhead today , then I could get it on my phone without a long wait.

nymphadora · 08/07/2010 14:29

Then I could check in at work tomorrrow if I still have no info on my work

AbFabT · 08/07/2010 15:30

Elsa, glad you are getting a new midwife! Hope she is marvellous! Result!

at noknickersshieldbug!

tf, sorry about your lack of sleep. It's not good. I've been there! Hope you manage a good rest when you can, and sleep beautifully tonight. The sleep when you finally do manage it after insomnia is blissful!

nymph and Hermya - what nappy vouchers? Are you talking about the ones your council give you, or are there others available?

We do need a new thread! And I won't clog it up with work nonsense at all! Woo hoo! Thank you all SO much for all the lovely replies and happy wishes. I feel good.

Any ideas for titles? We're close to our third trimesters now, aren't we - something to incorporate that?

OP posts:
Elsa123 · 08/07/2010 16:42

Your posts have just made me realise I need to get the Health in Preg Grant sorted out! Damn this lack of antenatal care!!

AbFabT- no idea on thread titles- I'm so tired my imagination has been turned off....

nymphadora · 08/07/2010 19:00

I've been getting text reminders about the health in pg grant. Just needto ask on Tuesday at my next appt.

Had bp done this afternoon still going up. Not dodgy yet but heading that way.

Also having back/ hip trouble. Very stiff & achy. Going for a massage Sat am so hope that helps.

Nappy vouchers are from local council. £30 off £45 spent. Local nappy lady does trial packs so might do that for the first month/2 to save buying newborn sizes.

nymphadora · 08/07/2010 19:35

Come on people we need a new thread tonight!!!

nymphadora · 08/07/2010 19:36

& I have no imagination so you don't want me to name it!

moonstorm · 08/07/2010 20:26
