sorry 'fleece lined anorak' from boden...?

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 10:56

oooh- bargain- found a pretty coat on M&S....

this would only be £16 for DD2's and £18 for DD2's... worth going in-store i think... see the difference in person between the next ones and this one...

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 10:57

think i'm entertaining myself this morning.....

sorky · 28/07/2010 11:04

Can't I love the Lime padded one, I'm seriously tempted to got it for Dd2 for this Winter.

Dd1 still has room in her Boden pink coat (no growing allowed for her this year)

The boys have brown waxed parkas from Next and I'm hoping they won't be too small. If they are, then it could well be Duffle coats this year too!
I match them where possible as well

It's the ruddy hats, scarves & gloves that get me Either they don't fit or they've lost them!!

The Chooks, I've been wanting for ages and I was due to buy the hutch a couple of months ago, but splurged on Dh and spent the money on a bloody iPad that he seemingly loves more than me , then we had the London trip.
This month I'm getting them for definite.

I like this coop, which is the same as my parents have, but I'm a bit put off by the slide tray being at the back which means I'll have to leave room behind to get to it.

OR this one, which I must admit I adore. It means they won't trash the garden too much (though they will get access to it) and if we go away then no one else has to chase them in on a night because they're contained. The nesting box isnt as big though and there's only one perch.....I do heart it though

sorky · 28/07/2010 11:11

We're getting ds lites this year too.

Ds2 will be 4 not long after Xmas, so whilst we will likely get him one (to stop the inevitable fighting) he won't have it to play with that much.

Star Wars will likely feature heavily again this year and we've got some Lego that was on sale.

Not sure what to get Dd2, maybe a big dolls house, she likes to play with the dolly/fairy figures. She'll be almost 2 then, a tricky age I find.

Ds1 might get a bike if he's learned to ride properly by then (not holding out much hope of that though)

Ds2 will be Mario themed....again!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 11:24

think we'll go for the DS lites too then for DD1 & DS. DD1 will be nearly 5 by xmas, so nearly a year older than your DS2... i just worry about them being glued to them!! though DS only plays his on school holidays and weekends, not school-days at all... and he gets a max of an hour on it... seems to keep him quiet... would be heaven to have them both so quiet!!

DD1 will also be getting a new dolls pram i think, the one she has is a bit knackered so much so she currently uses a shopping trolley instead of the pram, and maybe a new baby for her too.

Think i fancy the fisher price pink pushchair that doubles as a walker for DD2 as she isn't yet walking so dont think she'll outgrow it by xmas, and she loves DD1's dolls etc... she'll be 22m by xmas...

DS will prob be on lego and ben 10...

sorky · 28/07/2010 11:36

sorry...I'm here, but I link reeeeally slowly

I looked at the fleece lined anorak (Boden) but I wasn't convinced it would be warm enough should we get another Winter like the last one.

sorky · 28/07/2010 11:40

Carp!
Have just spent too much on Dd2 at Next.

Can't I'm blaming you!! If Dh asks, you forced me to do it..ok?

Worryingly, I need to do it all again for the other 3 sigh

Getting the chooks first though!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 11:41

yeah- well i'm thinking the same on the boden one... so i'm between the next coats and the M&S one... but think i do preffer the next choices...

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 11:41

what did you buy then?.... come on...!!

Rugbylovingmum · 28/07/2010 11:42

Ooo, lots of shopping going on. C's wardrobe is still fully stocked with hand-me-downs from my niece but my parents (well my mum really) have started to quiz me about what they can buy her for her first birthday in October. They have bought my niece a portable DVD player for her birthday in August - she is only 2 - and so will want to get DD a 'main pressie' too IYKWIM. I have pointed out that she is only 1 and doesn't need much but there is no reasoning with doting grandparents so I may as well come up with something. I suggested a swing for the garden but mum said it was stupid to buy one in October and bought one this weekend when she visited . What did your LOs get for their first birthday that they actually used?

sorky · 28/07/2010 11:43

the blue duffle is very nice. maybe see them in the flesh. you may be swayed

I've been a bit disappointed with Boden this year. Their preview stuff just wasn't as nice as I expected...l/s tee's especially.

Next does have some good stuff in...

Right off for lunch, back later no doubt.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 11:53

my older 2 got the push-along bikes (the ones that you push them along in, then they turn into tricycles when they're a little older) for their first birthdays/xmas....

sorky · 28/07/2010 11:59

Gawd I cannot possibly remember that!
erm, some vtechy that I likely gave away

Maybe soft toys or ride one.

I tried linking, but Next went all weird on me after the 6th thing.

I bought 2 pairs of denim jeggings (i'm a fan on dd2)
2 pairs of jeans
a pack of 3 l/s tee's
2 packs of snuggle-fit jamas (lovin the snuggle-fit)
the lime padded coat (thanks to Can't)
hat and mittens
tights & socks
2 outfits with dress, tights and bodysuits (one teal, one pink)

I'm tempted to buy baby uggs

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 12:05

i'm looking at ugg's for the DD's too sorky!! but DD2 isn't even walking, and is only a size 2... and DD1 loves her next ugg-type boots...

sorky · 28/07/2010 12:16

have you seen the Ugg Boo?

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 12:21

no... will look now

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 12:26

ahhh. i had seen baby uggs- but i

sorky · 28/07/2010 12:29

these have a rubber sole for walkers.

I'm tempted to get them. Haven't seen ugg-style, with a sole, in her size yet. So these might be just right.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 12:38

hmmm... undecided on their rather laid back aproach to the sizing... DD2 would never be able to walk in loose fitting boots yet... but then i'd not want them too tight... but i do like the idea of them, if only they came in actual sizes.

Diege · 28/07/2010 12:38

Oh my goodness I'm hyperventilating reading all this shopping stuff .I have added those baby boos to my favourites list SORKY, and have my eye on the first parka CANT linked to . I have to agree about the fleece-lined anoraks from Boden - they're great for autumn days but I got the duffles from there for really cold ones - they were fine for last year so will probably sell on e-bay and then buy new for this year as they've all grown massively!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 12:40

here they are in the UK and in actual sizes.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/07/2010 12:47

Diege- knew you'd be on for the shopping talk!!

Think i'm set on the lime coat from next tbh... but gonna see what sorky thinks forst as they dont need them for a good couple of weeks, and was planning to wait till just before the summer hols were over... and go in-store and try on for DD2 as unsure wether to buy 9-12 or 12-18 as she's still so small and only just going into 9-12 now... but if she fits into a 12-18 without it looking too big i'd rather buy that.

sorky · 28/07/2010 12:55

Ooh thanks for that CAN'T, have bookmarked that. She's only got teeny feet, still a 3/4 I think, so I might wait until end of September before I get them and have her feet measured first.

Well, I have items in my Boden shopping bag for the boys. I think I need professional help!!

sorky · 28/07/2010 13:00

Diege where do you shop for your Dd1? My dd1 is very hard to buy for as she likes 'boys' things.

There aren't that many things on offer that she likes.
She loves skinny jeans, won't wear a dress, skirt or leggings. Will wear things with cats on them
