Hello everyone! I've been inspired to try to keep up a bit more! Was so so lovely to meet you all yesterday! Me and T thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, although I'm having trouble keeping him occupied this morning. Just little ole me is no match for all the lovely kiddies he got to play with yesterday! (especially when I'm on the internet and he's crawling around on the floor )

Moos - Little Fizz was such a sweetie! Hope E is feeling better! and I agree about the cakes, last night I was thinking about them and wanting one with a cup of tea so badly!

Ses - SO great to meet you and O finally. He is so adorable! Thank you so much for inviting me, I'm glad we made it!

Bumps - your two are so cute. I'm sorry I didn't get to see the kissing.

Giraffe - The little giraffe is so gorgeous and so well behaved - I hardly would've known she was there! I'd definitely be up for that local meet-up.

Star - lovely to meet your whole family! What a brave DH you have! Sorry I didn't get to see Charlotte, but Joseph was adorable.

Sorky and Diege - so nice to see you as well, although sorry we didn't get more of a chance to talk. Thanks so much to your DCs for keeping T busy! He loves the big kids!!!

Gruff, I don't think we got a chance to talk at all! Glad to see you from afar though! Next time we'll catch up properly!

Hi Tink! Hope you're well.

Thanks for all of your lovely comments about T - he's growing up to be such a little imp! I can't believe he's nearly 1.

Anyway, looking forward to keeping in touch a bit better! LBOT xx

cantmummyhaveabreak · 19/07/2010 19:51

Arch! Wish I wasn't so skint! Just been browsing the Boden sale! So much I want for the DC's... What's my luck they're clean outta stock come payday!

essenceofSES · 19/07/2010 20:39

Yay!! Welcome home LBOT
As you can see, the thread isn't quite so busy and fast moving these days so easier to catch up!

Can't - I've really tried to avoid browsing Boden in fear of getting hooked!

MMM - O has been teething today too. Nursery had a bib on him to catch the dribble and they said he'd had red cheeks most of the day. Fingers crossed our boys settle ok tonight!

Hello tink, Moosy and anyone else lurking

lastboxoftampons · 20/07/2010 10:08

Well, apparently I'm a thread killer!

GiraffeYoga · 20/07/2010 12:35

Hello

Welcome back LBOT! Glad you enjoyed the park. We will definately keep you on the list for a mini southern meet up

Moosy- glad you enjoyed it and london. Black snot is horrible and the worst bit of being in london. Quite scary to think how polluted the air must be!

Tink- holiday sounds good

BTW LBOT- think the thread is pretty quiet these days... dont take the silence too personally We are glad to have you back !

Im WFH today so getting some work done for a change (hence only just getting on here to post!).

Suppose I should get on now.

Back laters or tomorrow.

OP posts:
Starshinetiger · 20/07/2010 13:47

Finally a chance to get on MN, while on my lunchbreak - well, if you can call stuffing a salad in my face at my desk, a lunch break LOL!

LBOT - you're not a thread killer, as GYo says, the thread is a lot slower these days - blasted work - where is that winning lottery ticket!

Was so lovely to meet you lovely ladies on Sunday and meet some of you for the first time.

Ses - lovely to see you again - O was very well behaved as far as I was concerned and he's so lovely and lively (but in a calm way, unlike my cheeky madam!). Thanks for your comments re. J - he is a really good boy but he definitely does have his moments too, he just mostly reserves those for DH and I at home

LBOT - was lovely to meet you and T. Do you mean my DH was brave to come to an MN meet up? He only came because I promised other menfolk would be there, but secretly he loves to be surrounded by women (why else did he come to a Kylie concert with me and 4 of my close friends back in 2000? )
I actually took the DC to my sisters on Sat and left him at home tiling and then on a night out with his snooker buddies, so it wasn't all work all weekend for him Was ever so glad to have him with me to help with going on tube (especially as C has decided she hates the tube and screamed inconsolably both ways on the tube (only 5 stops, but felt like forever). Think he really came so he could put any dampner on me getting all broody for another

Giraffe - lovely to see you and B again. I was so impressed with her eating and feeding herself and she is soo smily.

Gruff - lovely to see you and Z again and meet Mr Gruff, who is also lovely. Z was such a cool dude in his sunnies.

Diege - fab to meet you after all this time after enjoying talking to you online all this time. I'm sorry we didn't get more chance to chat - I would have moved around more quickly if I'd know you were heading off. Your girls were so well-behaved and J loved playing with them - he is a big fan of older children too. Hope your journey home was okay.

Sorky - great to meet you too. Hope you had a fab family holiday down south. I'm not surprised you have 4 DC when they are so lovely as yours How was Legoland? Thinking of taking J there for his birthday as it's not very far from us.

Moos - lovely to meet you and F. Thanks so much for my cuddle with F, she was so calm and contented. Needless to say, your cakes were yummy!

Bumps - was really lovely to see you and your two gorgeous DC again. O is a lovely cheeky chappy and so happy playing - he was not phased at all when you took J off to the loos and quite happy just to stay with all of us, which shows how confident and contented he is. That picture of J and my J stood together looking at the people in the park just like an old couple is etched on my mind.

Right - best get on with some work now. Agree that we must try to organise some central meet-up that everyone can come to.

Looking forward to another mini-southern meet up too.

Tink- also spent this morning browsing next and think I'll give boden a miss as have seen lots I want from there. Chosen the kids coats that I'll be getting for winter.

It's our 5th wedding anniversary tomorrow, I'm gonna make DH a nice curry as it's his fave meal. Think were having a Chinese take-out with the DC's tonight as a treat.

DS's sports day tomorrow if it ever stops raining- been constant downpour since Friday!

LBOT- so nice to see you on the wagon again!

Glad you all had a good meet-up! Wish I could have come!

Rugbylovingmum · 20/07/2010 14:28

Hi all,

very very of your meet up! We will def have to arrange another one soon.

Well the weekend has been manic but at last all our stuff is in our lovely new house . Of course most of it is still in boxes/thrown on beds/strewn across the floor etc . After all my nerves things went very smoothly on Friday and we had the keys by 2 o clock. We spent Saturday moving everything, on Sunday we spent more time and money in Ikea and Curries than I ever want to spend again and on Monday we cleaned the old place then started putting together the mounds of flat pack furniture. Phew, I'm exhausted and was I quite glad to come into work today for a break . Thank goodness for my wonderful mum who came and looked after C all weekend - poor wee mite is choked with cold and has 3 or 4 new teeth coming through so she has been very clingy which is totally unlike her. Between all that and the move (and not seeing us much as we were so busy) she is totally unsettled and had to spend a couple of nights in with me as she just cried in her cot . She kept just waking up and stretching her hand out to check I was still there then falling asleep again, bless. She slept in her cot last night so hopefully she is beginning to relax in the new house. You forget how much they take in at this age and a move must be quite confusing for her. She loves her new playroom though and spent yesterday happily wriggling/rolling/shuffling around it .

Rugbylovingmum · 20/07/2010 14:33

Ah, I see 2 of our top shoppers are lurking. I need to get DD a long raincoat, coat and trousers or waterproof all in one for her nursery bag in case it is raining when I pick her up on the bike. Not sure what to go for. Don't want it to be too hot or difficult to get on/off but needs to keep her dry if it showers on the 15min cycle home and keep her bum dry if the seat is a bit damp from my cycle from work to nursery. If it is pouring I would go and get the car so it's just for light rain. Any ideas?

Rugbylovingmum · 20/07/2010 14:35

Sorry, meant to say Hi Tink and Cant . How rude just asking for shopping advice without saying hello .

Gyo and Star - glad I'm not the only one who catches up on mn at work .

Moosy · 20/07/2010 17:24

Rugby, we have all in one waterproof suits from Millets for our girls, they're shower proof so would be good enough for a short cycle ride, I think they cost about £15. How exciting to be in your new house

We had 2 viewings yesterday, the first it was good but they were worried about their cats on the road, the 2nd said they really liked it but it was just beyond the reach of their mortgage as they wanted to add a conservatory on the back, but they were going to go away and see if they could stretch the money a bit as they really want it Even if this one doesn't come through, at least these agents are sending the right sort of people

I thought I'd share with you something that happened at the Dr yesterday. I went because I seem to have thrush and she was talking about which treatment is best etc

Dr: Does your husband have any symptoms?

Me: I don't think so.

Dr: It's just that sometimes if it keeps coming back then it can be that you're passing it back and forth to each other.

Me (thinking back to when I last had thrush ages ago): Well I haven't had it for quite a while...

Dr: Intercourse?

Me: No! Thrush!

Dr: well you do have 3 children!

Cheeky mare although she is right

sorky · 20/07/2010 17:42

Finally got home last night at 10pm, all absolutely shattered!

Thanks to you all for the meetup. It was so lovely (and a little weird) to see you all. All the little ones were really happy to play together weren't they & Green Park was beautiful
If I didn't get a chance to have a good chat, I'm really sorry. The couple of hours flew by!!
I'll turn up on time for the next one too

You were all too tall and too gorgeous

I never realised how short I was until Sunday. Mr Sorky was surprised at my disbelief...apparently I've always been a midget!

Moosy!! We hugged

sorky · 20/07/2010 17:46

hahahaha Moosy

Last time I had it, Dh had it too, but was relatively symptomless. Pharmacist said for him to be treated as well, which he did and it hasn't ever come back, so maybe there's something in it.

AND how come I didn't get a cake hmmm?! I got a picture, but no taste. Have no idea how that happened....shocking!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 20/07/2010 19:02

Hey sorky- well done on resisting Boden! It was hard for me but I'm glad I didn't as the DC's really don't need any more summer clothes! And they always grow loads during spring so not sure what size they'll be by next summer really.

Rugby- agree with moosy on all-in one... But not sure if millets do clothes for under 2's, or they don't stock here. Boots or next may sell all-in-one thin rain mac's... If in doubt have a peek on eBay as they get so little wear at that age. Also maybe jojomamanbebe.co.uk may sell them, they do handy items like that usually.

Moosy · 20/07/2010 19:12

Our Millets only does the all in ones for under 2's, I guess it depends where you are!

Sorky, did your DH just have the cream or something more hardcore?

tinktellyaddict · 20/07/2010 19:17

evening

rugby not so sure on all in one rain suits!!
try searching the net
how about browsing on ebay for one?

i luv the next bits i am buying the girls first winter bits next mnth

sorky - sorry for thrush have had it lots can be really nasty!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 20/07/2010 19:37

Tink- There's a couple of coats I'm undecided on so gonna look instore, and plan to buy the girls matching coats! DD & DS already have brand new school coats waiting, and DD2 has a coat my mum bought her for Xmas that will fit by winter, so they only need a smarter weekend coat each.

In fact, anyone need boys winter coats to fit a size (small) 4-5 boy? I have 2 barely used coats from last winter. Both debenhams, one duffer one jasper conran I think. Gonna eBay soon if they don't sell on MN... Might list on the for sale boards tomorrow actually.

essenceofSES · 20/07/2010 19:54

Hello!

Rugby - I got DS an all in one waterproof from JoJoMamabBebe last winter. I loved it and we did use it quite a bit.
Bless C! Can't imagine moving house with a LO. Thank goodenss for your mum!

Sorky - err...yes! I do find it hard to get much done! Always chasing round after him but hey it's half the fun I guess and I should make the most of it as in a few years time he'll not see it as a game anymore and he'll want to shake off his boring mummy!
Glad you all enjoyed your trip though - I've heard that Legoland is great but ridiculously expensive. Friend of mine went last week and said queues too long and so unfair that those with money could buy a pass to queue jump!

Moosy - at your conversation with GP! It is v true that men (lucky sods) can carry it with no symptoms and keep passing it back to us. So anyone that keeps getting it - get your DH/DP to use some cream!

I popped round to see my parents earlier as it's my Dad's birthday. He is so frustrated as still confined to the living room. He has his fracture clinic appointment (finally!) tomorrow though so hope he feels more positive after that.

Hello everyone else - hope you're all having a good evening

bumpsnowjustplump · 20/07/2010 20:09

Thank you all for a lovely day Sunday, we all had a lovely day... Thank you all for your lovely comments about my two little bumps... I am very proud of them.. O's lip is fine it is a little fat but goes well with his black eye (fell on train) and bump on his head (fell off sofa), as you can tell o hurting himself is not unusual...

Ses I asked J what was her fav bit of the day and she said climbing the tree in the park with Stars J and Sorky's L. so glad we stood outside the palace for over an hour then... I cant believe how grown up O looked now and how much he looked like you.... It is great when they look so much like you isn't it

Moosy well what can I say. F is adorable, so so cute... She had better not brake my little man's heart though .. That is a moment that I will never forget, I have never seen him like that, we must meet up again so that the love birds get another cuddle hehe.. Hope F has got over the attack now. The cakes were so good, thank you so much for lugging them around for us, and F's outfit was so cute..

Sorky, it was so so good to see you again and to meet the rest of the sorky clan, they were all so stunning, and how well trained was Mr Sorky? . Your little ones were so well behaved, and played so nicely with all the babies, Jessica was in ore of I, she kept talking about her and her lovely hair... Did L take you all around legoland? After all he was studying that map so much I bet he knew where everything was by the time he got there... Hope we can meet again soon and have a good natter this time, i feel i hardly got to speak to you!!! Not that I talk too much you understand...

Diege, I almost didn't recognize you without your bump . Your girls were delightful, loved watching them running around with all the babies. Sorry we didn't get to chat very much and hope you found a playground for them before you went..

Star.. What a wonderful family you have... you must be so proud... J was so polite and really connected with my J. It was lovely watching the two of them. C was gorgeous.... So cute, and so cheeky . DH was very onhand with both wasn't he... Well done Mr Star...

Gruff so good to see you again. Cub was so big, cant belive how much he has grown since last time I saw him. He has such a cheeky smile but also such a serious look about him.. V cute Hope you and Mr Gruff enjoyed the rest of your day in London..

Giraffe, twas good to see you and your little girl again.. How cute is she!!! !! Loved her outfit and her hair, she is also getting very big now, our babies are no longer babies are they girls .

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their week. We went to Camber Sands yesterday and DP has got really bad sunburn and sunstroke so I have been running around after him most of the afternoon as he cant possibly move .. Still only 4 more days of his holiday left phew.....

cantmummyhaveabreak · 21/07/2010 09:35

Morning. My 5th wedding anniversary today! And happy bday MMM!

DD2 had me up till just after midnight! Her teeth are really growing now causing her some discomfort, poor mite. She seems happy enough so far this morning tho.

tinktellyaddict · 21/07/2010 09:37

morning

your meet up sounds great

yes jo jo mama had forgotten about them

dd2 already has a winter coat lined up
not sure about dd2 will prob fit into one from last year

popped to tesco

walking up to local next in a mo to pick up dd2s all in one swimsuit

sorky · 21/07/2010 09:41

I made him take the tablet Moosy. I was tempted to scare him with the pessary but didn't

Can't, I've noticed that my lot grow loads during the Spring too. How weird! Agree with you, every time I buy for next year it never fits them properly.

Legoland is very good, but very expensive. The kids were patient, but some of the queues we didn't even think about joining as they were an hour long!!

We had 2for1 vouchers so basically paid £38 each for me & Dh, the 2 eldest got in free and I fibbed and said L was under 3, otherwise it was another £28 for him!!

Mr Sorky worked out that to pay for full price tickets (they don't do a family ticket ) it would've been £140 just to get in
The Qbot thingy was another £30 per person [faint emoticon]

.......still they loved it

essenceofSES · 21/07/2010 10:09

Morning all!

Can't - happy wedding anniversary!

MMM - happy birthday!
Hope you're doing something nice to celebrate?

Bumps - your poor O was really in the wars! Bet he just smiled through it though, bless him!

Sorky - lol at scaring your DH with the pessary!

My day off today We're off to the last Jo Jingles of term and then soft play this afternoon.

Kitchen extension coming along well. If I have time, I'm going to order our Belling range and huge American style fridge freezer today

Diege · 21/07/2010 11:53

Hello! I am back from examiner hell, with the last of the papers posted this morning and all the marks inputted. Very relived it's all over, and may be for good as they're changing to online marking soon and it's bad enough marking 17 yr olds scrawl when it's on paper, let along on a laptop screen! Think I may well 'resign', though the lure of the extra cash gets me every time...
Thank you all so much for a lovely, lovely day on Sunday. Great to see you again SORKY (ouch at Legoland prices!!) and your gorgeous children (and dh ). Jasmine blushed with pride when I told her what your dd1 said abiut being 'cool'; she's seen as one of the 'geeks' in school because she's not at all into 'girls' things, and prefers Dr.Who/Coraline/aliens etc, so it's really given her a confidence boost . Also, she's wondering if you dd1 would like a penfriend??? I think the playground, when we found it (in St. James' ) was well -received, having a sandpit and all
SES,lovely to see you again, and can't beleive how much O has grown; what a little cutie he is,I can see why you want another!
BUMPS, lovely to see you, J and O again too - a lot more relaxed than Betty's too O looks full of mischief and J a very proud older sister
GRUFF/GIRAFFE I think I will confuse you even more than before now as you look (to me) like you could be sisters! Great to finally meet you x
MOOS, you look like the third sister F is very very sweet and I loved her little trousers. Hope you had a good trip back x
LBOX, great to meet you and hope you won't be a stranger x
STAR!!I'd wish we'd had longer to talk too, but hopefully we can arrange a mega-meet as mentioned again soon - hopefully I can bring J and S along next time (and maybe dh too!)
You know I just know I've missed someone out
We got back fine, though S very upset that the whole London thing was over. She cried herself to sleep and said, through her sobs, that 'we must go back...I have London in my blood!!!' . She is my drama queen, bless her
Off to watch said dd's 'leaver's concert this afternoon, then have J's MMR at 5...
