LOL Star - I am also bored sitting here looking at spreadsheets and graphs and so I've been working out that it would be good if I could time ttcing for DC2 so my edd is close to the end of my contract. That way I get max maternity pay but won't have to go straight back to work afterwards and can stay home until DD goes to pre-school. Of course my contract doesn't finish until June 2012 . Nothing like planning ahead . Glad DDs appointment went well and I hope you find a way of getting the meds into her.

Diege - it sounds like you have made your mind up but for what it's worth I'd agree with everyone else about testing after your ride. I'm sure a canter won't do any harm and you'll only convince yourself there is a faint line then worry all day.

Sorky - are you sure those shackles are firmly fastened, it's not that long ago Diege was insisting she had fallen for the last time and look at her now .

Ses - I hope your dad is feeling better now he is home and your mum is giving you a break. It must be so tough . My dad doesn't really have many friends and when he is down/grumpy he tends to offload onto me (usually moaning about my mum being controlling/thoughtless etc) and I find it really hard to hear him complaining about mum but equally difficult to tell him I don't want to listen to him.

Hi Gruff, Gyo, Cant, Tink (has the new phone arrived? How is it?).

We've had a lovely weekend but it seemed very busy. DD has been hilarious - she has learnt to clap and wave and gets really excited if anyone claps or waves back. She was full of beans and has spent most of the weekend bouncing and rolling around giggling madly which is making me feel much better about going back to work - being in nursery clearly isn't making her . We were at Sing and Sign on Monday and she is now the only baby there not crawling or walking. She looked a bit sitting on her mat watching all the LOs tearing round the room bless her. She sort of lost interest in trying to crawl when she learnt to sit (I have to admit that after watching the other mums chase their Dcs around I was quite glad I can still sit and have a cup of tea without DD escaping ).

I'm a bit about the London meet up. It would have been great to come along but with moving house we are short of time and money this month. Hope you all have a great time.

tinktellyaddict · 06/07/2010 17:14

evening

received blackberry curve is lush violet colour cant use yet

essenceofSES · 06/07/2010 17:36

Hello!

Tink - Blackberry sounds good.

Rugby - glad DD has settled well at nursery

Sorky - PUSH!!!!

Star - I'm definitely with you on over the bump jeans but then I'm not exactly slim in any area
Poor DD suffering with teeth too! If temperature is back to normal that could have been the cause. If it is a real struggle to get the meds in, then do try mixing it with yoghurt as Diege suggests. Not ideal but better than a fight or no meds!
Having said that, I understand your temptation to stop completely as she's managed this far!

Giraffe - at your ttc discussions! It is amazing how our instincts kick in but you've got plenty of time on your side and if it fits best with work to wait 6-12 months, that won't be long in the end.

Cant - hope you got your nap! Are you ttc for the surrogacy soon? I've lost track but I think it might only be a few weeks?

Update here is that Dad is home. I went round this afternoon with O to help welcome him back! He was brought home in an ambulance and pushed in in a wheelchair. They've left him with a walking frame but he can only hop so looks like he's restricted to the living room for the time being!
I've decided that Mum just doesn't realise what she's saying as she surely couldn't be that insensitive! Within his hearing this afternoon, she said "Maybe I just should have said that I couldn't cope with him coming home and then they'd have kept him in longer" Poor Dad looked really hurt but I think she was oblivious to how he'd feel on hearing that!

GruffaloSoldier · 06/07/2010 19:58

Evening all!

LOL at all ttc talk I am on CD 10 here so gearing up for some GOFs!

Gy/Star - nice to have a plan for ttcing!

Ses - your poor Dad I guess all you can do is make sure he knows you love him and give him lots of O cuddles Well thats what I would do anyway!

Sorky - nice to see you back! looking forward to the meet up here too

Tink - yay for phone

Rugby - hooray for clapping/waving

sorry if I have missed anything but got to dash and get some stuff done now but will be lurking!

Rugbylovingmum · 06/07/2010 20:52

OMG I've just started the 'couch potato to 5k' running plan and I am soooooo unfit. Jogging 1 minute intervals should NOT hurt this much. I am shattered and feel like I've lost half my body weight in sweat (sorry for the lovely image). Hope I improve quickly, it's not that long ago we ran a half marathon - we ran it slowly but still.....

Gruff - fingers crossed for a honk this month!

Ses - for your poor dad but I'm glad he is well enough to be home. I hope he is mobile again soon.

Diege - I loved under bump jeans until about 7 months then defected to the over-bump camp. Good excuse for 2 big shopping trips .

Tink - how are you getting on with the phone.

tinktellyaddict · 07/07/2010 09:59

morning

cant use phone yet waiting for them to transfer over my old number
have set up wallpaper etc is fab

ses - glad dad home

lots of ttc talk!!
2 definetly enough for me

dd1 has always been demanding she is 5 on the 29th of aug
@ the mo she is so moody and demanding!!
has got worse since arrival off dd2
she always wants full attention wont play on her own
shouts alot and crys

sorky · 07/07/2010 10:51

Just read about your Dad Ses , glad to hear he's back home. Lots of love and attention to be had. Perhaps your mum is preoccupied with how life can change you know, brain and gob disconnected temporarily! At least I hope so !!

You lot can pack in trying to shove me off an 'all

I would have another tbh if I could've guaranteed a good pg (where I wasn't crippled) and if we had space, but I can't and don't so ner! Dh is mighty relieved to have had snip I suspect, he's easily persuaded by me, when it comes to anything sex related

I have iPhone Tink, have a few pals with blackberries though, they all love them
Have good day everyone

tinktellyaddict · 07/07/2010 12:06

hi sorky gr8 2 hear from you

SES sorry to hear about your dad but glad hes home now,
DIEGE glad you had a good trip to blackpool sorry i couldnt make it. i had double booked lol
TINK phone sounds good, hope its up and running soon.
got a really bad headache which ive had all day yesterday and woke up with again today, but getting a slight cold, and sore throat so think it may be related.
M is having a nap, he now has 6 teeth so hes getting there slowly.

anybody any advice about christening ... RE is a baby christened without having certificates to show this?

hello to everyone else ive missed or thats lurking.

Diege · 07/07/2010 13:27

Hello! Having a very unmotivating day where I have loads to do work-wise but the old 'working from home' vibe is just not doing its stuff...I really wish i was more disciplined, esp as I never learn and end up staying up til late meeting deadlines
SORKY, yes I remember you saying somewhere that (at one point) you wanted 6 children...or am I confusing you with someone else?? . Maybe me Great that you're happy as you are though, and guess dh's snip means that weak moments are a thing of the past!
TINKS, you're almost tempting me to have a peek at this whole phone malarky...CANT will attest to how rubbish my phone is
RUGBY,wow well done at the running - it will (as you know) get so much easier though just reading about it made me feel tired!
SES glad that your dad is back, though see what you mean about your mum and tact . Hopefully he's used to it by now!
Hope everyone else is ok. I will need to post my number on the wagon FB re: contacting people in London, and also double check when/where exactly we're meeting. I know it's not for another week and a half but I'll be in Cardiff 3 days next week with no computer so like to get things sorted

sorky · 07/07/2010 13:36

If he hadn't had the op, I'd already have Honked, that's a dead cert!

Well Diege, I'm thinking of drawing up an itinery for London , so I'll join you with control freakery.

Well done on the run Rugby, will you race again?

Ok, off to have a sneaky look at the thread I read yesterday about rare bird being outer as a high profile person. Without doubt one of the most bizarre threads ever seen on MN, "car crash MN'ing" tbh

Rugbylovingmum · 07/07/2010 14:00

Hi all, I'm sure the running will get easier, I'm just at how out of shape I am. I've been fooling myself that pushing the pram into town counts as a workout . I probably will enter some runs again sorky, just for motivation really as I like to have something to aim for but would def be pushing it to call it 'racing' . I just trundle round in my own time. A couple of friends have just run the Paris Marathon and I've always thought I'd love to run a marathon one day so a sneaky voice is saying go for it but realistically I know I don't have time for the training.

I am still in awe at both of you managing 4 DC, I can hardly imagine having 2 DC. It takes me all my time and energy just looking after DD, especially now I'm back at work.

LOL at all the London planning , are there any spreadsheets on the go yet. I can't talk, I'm making hundreds of lists ready for moving day - only 1.5 weeks to go hooray!!!

Hi MMM - no idea about christenings sorry, I wasn't christened and DD won't be either. Good to 'see' you back.

Diege · 07/07/2010 14:29

SORKY I already have an itinery...we're going to the London Bridge Experience Sat pm, then onto Leicester Sq for cinema and eats later on. We also have to fit in hamleys and figure out how to get from Canary Wharf to Green Park tube station (any advice there would be useful from any Londoners!)
RUGBY, I'm sure you'll get up to half-marathon standard within 6 mths or so. I did 2 in my youth and vowed even another 1k on top would be impossible! I also trundled round! You are very inspiring I must say
Oh meant to say MMM (as well as welcome back!) that I'm also unsure about christenings. I haven't be christened, nor have my children...are you thinking about schools? (just in relation to what you said about ceritificates). Sounds intriguing!

GiraffeYoga · 07/07/2010 15:11

ooh exciting re intinary

Jubilee line from Canary wharf direct to Green Park! Easy!

OP posts:
Diege · 07/07/2010 15:58

Wow thanks GIRAFFE! For some reason, I didn't think a direct route was possible...can I be cheeky and ask if Canary Wharf to Covent garden is just as easy?

maxxymoosmummy · 07/07/2010 16:43

RE the christening certificate, dont know why it came up but was talking yesterday and a few people i was with said that if you done have a certificate to prove this then they arent actually christened they are just named :S so im now worried that max isnt christened when i was hoping he was wit having the whole service etc. but none of us recieved any sort of certificate. been trying to get hold of the vicar from the church in which he was supposedly christened at but its proving difficult.

Diege · 07/07/2010 16:51

Hmm that's an odd one MMM. I think what the people you have been speaking to are getting at is the naming ceremony, which (and I'm not sure how this works if it takes place in a church) is a less overtly 'religious' ceremony (can that be right???). I think a clue might be whether or not M had godparents or not - I don't think you nominate godparents for naming ceremonies do you?? FWIW If you requested a christening I'm sure this is what you would have had. The naming ceremonies I've been to (well, the one and only) have quite clearly stated in the service the fact that this is a naming ceremony etc etc...to the congretation. Hope this helps!

tinktellyaddict · 07/07/2010 17:29

diege - go on get a phone i know u want to

mine is through carphone warehouse with o2 £20 a mnth unlimited text, net and 100 mins talk time
violet colour is lush
have been playing with it screen really clear and is easy 2 use

maxxymoosmummy · 07/07/2010 18:12

yes i had nominated godparents, at it was stated im sure that it was a christening, but really worried about not having the certificates to prove this. going to keep trying to get hold of the vicar and see what he says, but as i remember when he was actually christened the vicar that booked the dates etc wasnt able to carry out the service, so it was a stand in vicar who did this for us.

GruffaloSoldier · 07/07/2010 19:16

just a quickie...

MMM you should have had a certificate.(Im pretty sure!) You might have to pay a small fee. Contact the vicar, if you can't get hold of him, call buy at the church on a sunday (he should be there )Don't worry there will be records of the christening so you should be able to get one issued.

back later...

tinktellyaddict · 08/07/2010 09:21

wow tumbleweed tumbleweed

i am in luv with my blackberry curve
it is weird having a phone where i can get on the net!!!

hi all ladies
quiet day here today i feel so tired!!
raining here

essenceofSES · 08/07/2010 09:37

Morning tink! Glad you like your Blackberry. I love being able to FB and MN from my phone.

MMM - the church should have given you a certificate. If it was a stand in vicar, he may have thought the usual one was going to do it and the usual one probably thought the stand in was going to do it.

Rugby - not long til moving day
Well done on the running - within a few weeks you'll suprise yourself I'm sure

Hello Sorky, Diege, Gruff, Giraffe!

I have a much needed few days off work. Tomorrow is DH's birthday and we go on our weekend to Nath ( posh hotel all paid for by someone DH knows through work!)
Today DS is in nursery so I have time to pack and tidy house and pop into town.

Didn't see parents yesterday popping round today. Hopefully all will be calm

essenceofSES · 08/07/2010 09:39

Nath ??!! Where is that??!
I meant Bath

bumpsnowjustplump · 08/07/2010 09:51

Hello all, sorry I have not been on but been really busy.. Mainly making a total tit out of myself by falling over at Leeds Castle and badly spraining my ankle, and having to be rescued by a golf buggie as I couldn't walk..... doh.......

Anyway Sorky I will be joining you there at the front of the waggon as we will not be ttc for number 3. I would love another and so would dp but we just can not afford it. WE only have a two bedroom house at the moment and couldnt afford to move just yet. And every month at the momnet we are taking money out of our savings as our incoming is not matching our outgoings!! Our savings have depleated but hopefully I can get them back up a bit with my money once I have paid for all the things I have had to get, ie sat nav and CBR check etc.....

I also have a 6 year plan, I have really got my heart set on this so really hope it happens.... I am scared to put it down in black and white as i dont want to jinx it...

My company pay for us to do NVQ 1&2 in health and social care. it normally takes about 12 months to do this and i can start after my 3 month probation period... Then I was going to pay to do NVQ 3 in Health and social care, which takes another year.... I have 7 GCSE c and above and will have NVQ 3 sooooooooooo if I do pass it I am going to go to uni and study a degree in Midwifery... At the moment they except you at Canterbury uni without A levels as long as you have NVQ level 3 or complete an access course so i hope that doesn't change in the next 3 years or I am buggered as I didn't finish my A levels....

GiraffeYoga · 08/07/2010 10:14

Morning

Hi Bumps- sorry about your ankle. It must be very painful. Wow thats an exciting plan. Midwifery is a great thing to do. All good reasons to stay strapped to wagon firmly Are you coming on 18th?

Ses- have a lovely weekend away. Are you taking O? Also enjoy your day pottering and packing. I had one of those before our holiday and it was lovely and felt like such a treat. PS I've been to Nath- didnt rate it - preferred Bath!

Hi Gruff!

Hi MMM- no idea about certifcates Im afraid

Tink- glad you like your new phone

Im WFH today. Couldnt face getting up at 5.30am. Im just exhausted after only 3 days back at work....
