DUE IN DEC 05: COUNTDOWN THREAD 7!!!

OK so i know its a few months away but who cares!

So heres to US and our BABIES!!
May our bumps grow and our tiredness reduce.
May our beans Kick and our nurseries be sorted!
May our scans be amazing and our remaining months be filled with positivity and calmness and last but not least
May we all hold our babies in our arms and be filled with unconditional love for our much wanted and treasured little miracles!

They didn't go into it too much as they said it affects one sex more than the other and the fact that we didn't know they didn't want to say.

kangel a friends little boy had this and he was worst case scenario...what happened to him was a operation when he was 5mths old and a limited diet. Hs is now 18mths and think he just has checks every 3-6mths to check everything is fine.

Oh Kangel, I'm sorry for your news. I've had a root around for info too and it does seem like it resolves itself in the majority of cases so I hope your little bean is fine by the next scan.
How was it to see the little one wriggling around?

dp can't come - meetings - but I'm taking ds age 2.11 to see his brother or sister 'Goldilocks'

kangel, please scroll way back down and see i also didnt have a perfect scan. but just like the thing that was pointed out to you, mine is also something that 9.5 times out of ten sorts its self out. i also have ot back oct. MAKE yourself enjoy the pg now, and put this thing right to the back of your mind, before it drives you mad. after a few days of feelign really glum this is what i have now done. it helps. HANG IN THERE, its quite a small worry -compared to god awful things they could of found- and you are still one very lucky lady to have a baby, whos fine everywhere else. just think we get an extra scan and peek at our gorgeous one!

TP tuesday.um.seem to have shrunk alittle back donw to eight and a half....mind you bump is much higher now so maybe thats it. i just know we are all going to be double figures VERY soon! LOVE IT, when else do we will ourselves bigger?!

okay have three ladies for secret stork? nobody else wanna play? ninah, I know you do too, after your scan right?
if you learn any details after you have been 'storked' you can always write them here, just 'out loud' to the whole group, your stork will be reading
on a totally selfish note...any ideas on how I can play? i cant exactly send one of you my details can I? 'cause then I'll know and the secret will be spoilt.........

only 3 of us - ahhhh I thought there'd be at least 10!!!

DQ - if your dh can't help you you could always e-mail me half the details if you want. That way we could sort out each others so neither of us know.

Thanks DQ your words have helped alot - reading back through my notes she has put that quote: 'the renal pelves are measuring the upper limits of normal and therefore a rescan at 32 weeks has been arranged to check growth'. Therefore I feel she has maybe worried me for nothing!! Upper limits of normal is still normal is it not???? Nothing about it being dilated or definately having this problem.

Anyone else think the same as me from the above?

There could still be my much wanted little girl!!!!?????

sorry to hear your news Kangel, but hopefully will sort itself out by the next scan. sounds like a boy, taking it's time to get organised
I like SH's idea, something sweet to eat should help! I just had a kitkat in sympathy

Scully I have always thought it was a boy anyway am just holding on to this last bit of hope that it is a girl!

I just had a kitkat too!!! All i've eaten all day.

kangel - this condition still affects 20% of girls so thats a pretty good statistic in my book!!!

I think you have the right attitude about this. It does seem that they have made you worry unnecessarily, like you say - you are still within the normal limits.

If you are worried I would suggest phoning your mw. I'm sure she wouldn't mind having a chat with you over the phone and perhaps you could mention this comment to her and get her take on it.

People in the medical profession can be so insensative sometimes can't they - don't they relise they only have to make one small comment to send us expectant mothers into turmoil!!!!

Kangel, I have heard that this can happen when the baby has swallowed a load of amniotic fluid but its not yet gone 'down' IYKWIM. And from the sound of those notes I think that she has worried you for nothing! Upper limit of normal is still normal fgs.

kangel glad to help any I can. know EXACTLY how you feel re not a perfect 100% scan, it will allbe fine oct, we can both eat many kitkats in clebration then!
s/h I was thinking that -if i get lots more joining, I could send you at least three and then you can pick one for me and match the other two too, iyswim! come on ladies I thought we would all want to join in this

The upper limits of normal defintely sounds like it is still normal to me. I guess they will always be extra cautious where babies are concerned.
Enough of this boy talk for Kangel, I'm going to place a bet on you having a girl

When are we going to do the Secret Stork then? Are we going to get plenty of time to pick out something nice? - What with my brain at the moment, I can't be rushed as I forget what I'm rushing about!

I think in about two weeks or so george, i will have everyone who wants to join, joined -iyswim!- and then will forward on details asap so you can go shopping in plenty of time. thought it might also be nice to forward on a card to your secret stork when they give birth too
