OkieCokie · 03/06/2010 15:21

12 years is pretty impressive! There is 30 days between us (I of course am the older, more mature one)

organiccarrotseedsareplanted · 03/06/2010 15:43

okie mine is 9 years older than me.

ski no it bloody isn't normal. It's totally abnormal. And I feel like shit. :-P Yer Cow.

On the other hand, you have had all the chucking so you deserve a bit of blooming. I suppose. [ungenerous emoticon]

CUNextTuesday · 03/06/2010 15:44

Tsk - I'd rather put the wind up her unnecessarily than see her hooked up to an IV line. I read that I was supposed to feel a bit dizzy, that lying on my back could bring it on, etc. But I'm glad I chose to get a 2nd opinion just in case, otherwise I could be in early labour...

SilverSky · 03/06/2010 15:57

I guess being 12 years older than your babydaddy is only an issue if you (the muvva to b) is 24 yrs old, cos that would be illegal. < waits for comical responses >

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 03/06/2010 16:09

I'm actually feeling ok right now, but in the light of Dire Warnings will keep a firm eye on the situation. Thanks for all concern (except ski :P)

Can I be the first to find Silver's comment Repulsive?....

PerfectDromedary · 03/06/2010 16:29

Oi, beyotches! Hope you are all well, happy and that pregnancy is progressing happily.

Just discovered that we missed the BESHthread anniversary, which made me sad. It has been kicking around conception since 5th April last year. So I thought I'd pop over and wish you all a happy BESHIversary.

As you were.

organiccarrotseedsareplanted · 03/06/2010 16:36

Gosh, Happy Birthday Besh/Peshs!!! :-)

@ repulsive.

SilverSky · 03/06/2010 17:00

Extra spesh kick in the shins for vag for being first to reply !!!

PollyPoo · 03/06/2010 19:39

I introduced Boo to the joys of ponieezzz today! Went to visit friend with livery yard. She plonked her on lovely pony called Polly (!) and took her round the arena (see pic on here, v cute!). Boo thought it was the best thing ever and during her bath this evening was telling me how she needs a pony here (friend's yard is hour drive away) and next time she wants to 'go giddy-up'. Hehe, just like her mummy! TG will be so unimpressed!

SilverSky · 03/06/2010 20:54

My Husband has already put a ban on poniezz for our little person. Naturally I will defy him and do whatever I like.

Boo sounds like she had the best time. She is also v wise as she already knows that every girl NEEDS a neddy. Or two!!!

PollyPoo · 03/06/2010 21:16

Hehe, glad to hear it Silver!

I had the best time too, it took me back to my yoof.

skihorse · 04/06/2010 05:21

silver WTF? Julian will be on my nag as soon as he can sit. Jailbait's even suggested photos of me sat on her by the end of the summer and holding him.

polly It sounds as though Boo had a wonderful day out and that's a bloody big grin on your photo!

SilverSky · 04/06/2010 06:04

Husband says it's cos he will never see us as we will always be out riding or competing. It's purely a selfish thing on his part.

His compromise is that little person can have a share first.

skihorse · 04/06/2010 06:11

silver Well the kid won't be riding properly until it's 3 - so your husband has 3 years of family. The selfish cunt! Anyway, doesn't he know that riding/competing will still require his prescence? You can't deal with a nag, a Shitland and a toddler. You could probably use someone to fill a haynet from time to time too - he's just not thinking this through! Met my new trimmer on Weds and he said he was on horseback before he could walk - not given a choice!

reggie Best of luck today - and thanks for the etsy reminder. I love etsy.

SilverSky · 04/06/2010 07:01

Well Husband will have to deal with it. In meantime I can carry little person with me when riding. I have known people who have cantered out hacking with their tiddlywinks in front of them.

reggie good luck from me also.

skihorse · 04/06/2010 07:19

My ex-YO bought her riding school when she had 3 under 10... those boys grew up covered in shit & horse-hair - ever so happy though! Her littlun Robin would be put in an all-in-one ski suit in the winter and run up and down the yard UNDER horses tummies! Never saw her ride with him strapped to her front but certainly saw her school with him strapped in to his buggy! I think Julian will go along with it until he's 10 or so - that seems to be about the time when peer-pressure takes over and horses are "gay". Jailbait quite likes hanging out at the stables anyway as he loves the animals and I've thankfully found a yard not full of snobby arseholes with Gucci handbags!

SilverSky · 04/06/2010 07:43

Husband is only interested if riding. He tolerates doing the other stuff. Mainly cos he knows he has to.

I just hope I can manage horse and baby come October. The rest of my life will have to be sorted on a daily basis. May even have to look into putting horse on nearby livery or summat as not sure I can relax putting him in someone else's care where I currently am, iykwim.

I tell thee little person is really quite active this morning. Hopefully the bowl of museli, orange juice and two pain au chocs should send the little blighter back to sleep!

skihorse · 04/06/2010 07:47

hehe - no, food is "wake-up" time - mind you, with mine no food is also "wake-up and feed me" time! I haz had classy moment this morning - dropped jailbait off to work and vommed down myself driving home. Got home and peeled off maternity maxi-dress I was aiming on wearing today given it was 22 degrees at 6am. Bah.

I'm not sure how it's all going to go. She's in livery which is obviously a huge help - and I've got a couple of girlfriends riding her - but nobody does it like me - and I want back in the saddle asap. So I hope I'm not torn from navel to arsehole! I suppose I could always stand up in my stirrups!

SilverSky · 04/06/2010 07:53

Learning to vault would be handy non?

Like you I want back riding asap, fatigue/motherhood permitting. Praying for a heavy sneeze and baby appears. My schedule does not allow for c section recovery you know!!

skihorse · 04/06/2010 07:56

haha vaulting has always been outside my range of skills. These days I use a chair/fence/gate/log and say it's better for her back. I rode 5 weeks after my tummy tuck (bad bad bad recovery) - you're not supposed to of course... Perhaps I'm being really naive and unrealistic, but I'm becoming a parent - not a martyr and as much as I will love Julian - all work and no play makes mummy a fucking lunatic.

SilverSky · 04/06/2010 08:25

I NEVER get on from the floor. Far too much effort on my part. Plus bad for horse and saddle, not bad for saddle if you know how to get on propa and not use the bloody cantle!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 04/06/2010 09:58

Iiiiiitttttttsssssss Friiiiiiiddddaaaaaayyyyyy! Hoooooooorrrraaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy!

It's my last day today before 2 weeks off so have a pile of work to get through so may be quiet today, didn't want to wander off and not explain! Hoping to MN from Abroad using Whizzy New Phone. But perhaps won't be able to due to not being able to work out how to use Whizzy New Phone. Gah. If this continues, I shall have to take desparate measures and Read The Manual.

Backinthebox · 04/06/2010 10:23

Ski don't worry about Julian losing interest at 10 - get him into pony racing. It's really taken off here, and loads of boys are now hanging onto their riding hats for longer in the hope they can be mean-faced jockey-sorts like AP McCoy or just loaded and famous like Frankie Dettori. That's my plan, anyway. I am hoping that producing a boy will provide me with a rock hard buckeroo breaker when he is a teenager and I am doddery and need things calming sown for me before I will get on. All of our test pilots round here are boys.

OH tried to get out of coming to DD's first show. He moaned that he didn't want to be hanging round at a horse show. I pointed out that he would have to be hanging round whatever DD wanted do for about the next 14 years now, the advantage with poniez is that I will do most of the legwork and he will just have to turn up and be the proud father. Whereas if she liked, say, ballet, he would have to take her there and back and do as much of the hard work as I would, as we are both clueless about it.

Today I have shaved my legs and painted my toenails. Figured I might as well do it one last time.

CurlyCasper · 04/06/2010 10:41

Impressed with the self beautifying boxy!

Have a good holiday vag. I'm off to the in-laws for a few days but fully expect to remain online.

Will be dropping off last bits of day job today, then I am FREEEEEEE! Which is just as well because I am rather enjoying this housewife business. Just done a cinders and swept out the fireplace.

wish I could join pony talk... think my daughter will be swiftly indoctrinated into adventure sports by SFF. And that is not an area I see myself participating in

I've come to the conclusions that my hips are a bit schizo - I'm think the pain is half SPD and half arthritis. Best remedy for SPD is to sit still and do nothing. Best remedy for RA pain/stiffness is to get moving. I generally feel better when I get going and loosen up (a la RA) but then get shocking pubic area pain at the end of the day from overdoing it (a la SPD). Now it's not just my mind that's fickle - my body is at it too! But while mobile = less pain, I'm going to keep on keeping on. Defo feel worse on waking and after sitting for a bit.

so, I'm off to tidy upstairs now...

CUNextTuesday · 04/06/2010 12:06

cas I also fear that 'adventure' may be on the cards - although I'm not anticipating that 'sports' will accompany it, more 'mischief' . However, left to me the kid will be snowboarding and playing hockey before it's 3.

Went to AN appt this morning with GP. All ok, although hopped on scales and have lost weight, I swear to god. Ordinarily I'd be whooping, but despite GP assurance everything was fine for dates, can't help feeling a bit . Have put on the princely total of 2.5kg since I was 5 weeks pg, and th last time I weighed myself at 28 wks I was a kg heavier. Don't understand . Now I KNOW I said I wasn't going to be hung up on weight but that was with a view to putting lots on and not fretting about intake and volume of consumption. This, however, is a prob I had not anticipated .

I consoled myself with a trip to Tesco to do weekly shop whereupon I bought my own bodyweight in choc-related products . That should sort me out, right after I eat these carrot stix...
