There's just something about colleagues, isn't there morningpaper. I am sure they are really trying to say the right things, but it can just sometimes rub me up the wrong way. Yesterday, one of my colleagues (I don't even know her name) asked me how much longer I had to go. I said 10 weeks and she burst out laughing. I can only assume that she thought I was about to pop as my bump is getting huge. I just thought "how rude" but of course didn't say anything to her.

I had a dream last night about labour. Luckily the dream only lasted a moment, but unluckily, it involved DH telling me I was doing it wrong and me going mental at him..... Not very nice.

Hope you all have a good day
MB

fastasleep · 19/08/2005 15:59

Sorry I haven't been around in aaaaaaaaaages! Haven't got much time for the net at the moment, I'm crafting like a mad thing and actually selling it! So it's taking up all my time lol... Just enough time to say I hope you're all feeling well and are beautiful and blooming boils or no boils!! JM, I saw your thread - I got one just like that (on my lady bits, the shame!)

Hope everyone's getting time to relax...

Oooh Oooh I had my scan - Sophia's kidneys went back to normal! So I get my homebirth, and a normal baby! She's also stuck in cephalic although knowing her she'll decide to change at the last minute!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 19/08/2005 16:01

FA - its all ok - it burst today and I FEEL GREAT!

I was so embarrassed but oh my god, i couldnt stand the pain much longer, so went to docs for antibiotics.... hate taking tablets when pregnant but has to be done sometimes!

fastasleep · 19/08/2005 16:04

Mine was horribly embarrasing I feel your pain! I thought I'd contracted some kind of disease from sitting on a public loo the doc must have been pissing herself after that appointment! Glad it's going away now

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 19/08/2005 16:06

Why do these things happen when we feel at our least attractive anyway??? Jeez, poor old DH has had to dress my boil 3 times a day and yet, i expect bedroom action from him on holiday next week???? YEAH RIGHT!

fastasleep · 19/08/2005 16:07

I'm sure you'll get your action, men have to be expectd to do these things... it's punishment for not being able to get pregnant and for never experiencing PMT and aunty flo!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 19/08/2005 16:10

ahhh.... very true! Will remind him of that!

I have 11 child free days (other than bump of course) and im sitting here wondering why the hell its so quiet and i havent got anything to do!

alterego · 19/08/2005 16:31

jojo- I get those really low down pains and at the same time it really feels like my cervix is opening up. It usually seems to happen when I'm driving and all scrunched up, if I try to move position a bit it goes away - which is just as well because it's rather alarming - don't want this baby just yet although a little bit early would be nice.

I've also had horrendous insect bites - got them four weeks ago and some of them are still not quite healed up although fortunately they are not bothering me any more.

32 weeks today. Not sure which way baby is atm, but certainly yesterday it was all different ways. Very squirmy.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 20/08/2005 08:36

Right girlies - you all look after yourselves and ill catch u all next week when im back off hols.

No popping these sprogs early ok!!!

Elf1981 · 20/08/2005 11:04

So excited, going to buy Boo's furniture today!
I've been looking forward to it all week, how sad is that?!!

hester · 20/08/2005 11:28

fastasleep - so pleased you'll get your home birth now, and especially that Sophia looks fine.

I'm off for my latest abnormality scan this week. I'm very nervous.

Have also made contact with the consultant who I want to treat my baby's problems, and have been invited in for a pre-meet to discuss what the treatment will involve. Very nice of them, I thought.

mawbroon · 20/08/2005 12:22

Good luck with your scan Hester and congrats Fastasleep on your news.

Just picked my parents up from the airport. It is the sixth time I have been to the airport in the last three weeks (that's what happens when you live as close to it as we do) but none of the trips have been for us going anywhere Saying that, we are heading off a week tomorrow for a week in the west highlands which should be very relaxing

I think my boss has got a replacement for me, but I am not sure when she is to be starting, so I might be finishing earlier than I thought. She has been on holiday, so no doubt I will find out on Tuesday when I go to work. Yippee

fastasleep · 20/08/2005 15:58

Aww Hester I'm definatley not envious of all the scans you're getting! I remember it well from last time, I know it's really scary, but she'll be ok! I'm glad your consultant seems to be taking you into consideration (some of them treat us like ovens or something!)

Best of luck for the scan xxx

Best of luck to everyone else trying to relax! As soon as my toddler goes to sleep my bump wakes up...argh!

morningpaper · 20/08/2005 19:07

Hester is that NHS (Consultant)? Sounds like you are getting a good service. Hope the meeting is good.

Is anyone else becoming OBSESSIVE about cleaning and tidying? I swear my whole house is going to be in alphabetical order in a few weeks. DH is away with dd today and I have spent THE WHOLE DAY cleaning and sorting and filing. It's nice that it's all tidy but I wish I could sit down without thinking 'Oh I'll just...'

mawbroon · 20/08/2005 20:49

Morningpaper - my nesting instinct is becoming quite strong, however it is still not as strong as my laziness so only the bare essentials are being done at the moment. Poor DH is getting nagged to do all the little jobs round the house that have been needing done for ages.....

triceratops · 21/08/2005 10:15

Hi All. I have just come back from a weeks hols in the Isle of Man with my family. We had a fantastic time, the beaches are so clean. Ds had the time of his life making sandcastles and finding crabs in rock pools. We went everywhere by the tram and the weather was amazing. I am never going abroad again

The downside was that my dad managed to book a holiday cottage with 8 beds for 10 people. So ds and I had to share a single bed. There were three in the bed and there was no blinking room to roll over!

I just read the thread to catch up. LOL at boils in bits, it sounds very painful so I hope you are all OK.

I am feeling good and my baby girl is head down (which makes me want a wee every 10 mins) but the due date seems a whole world away. I am going to enjoy the weather in my garden this afternoon.

BigBumpBonnie · 21/08/2005 15:37

glad you enjoyed your holiday triceratops Hope everyone's feeling ok today. I've just been trudging around a car boot sale and am very hot and very achy! Baby still feels breech to me although she's been moving a lot. Last night my tummy was making some very odd shapes and it was quite painful. It's where her head moves under my ribs that hurts the most. At least the only good thing is not needing a wee constantly, although when she kicks my bladder it's horrible! I've been given a kick chart by the midwife where you have to note down the time you get to ten movements. If it goes past 6pm and you still haven't had ten movements I have to ring the hospital. My baby has usually had ten movements before lunch time so that's reassuring. Anyway hope everyone's enjoying the sun and I'd better get back to my ironing

nervousmum2be · 21/08/2005 16:36

Hi All, hope you've all been having a good weekend. I've just got back from a knackering trip to Bluewater, but it was totally worth it - more stuff for Baba, and lots of lovely things for me from The Pier. My last big girlie splurge before Junior arrives, i suspect. I was surprised just how many pregnant women there were wandering round at the same time - i guess there wasn't much on TV last christmas!!!

nervousmum2be · 22/08/2005 00:58

Argh! Me again, can't sleep (must be the backlash from all those nights i've been doing recently), and had an inexplicable urge to come on-line and order family christmas presents. It's August! Maybe i'm still stressed from earlier - not only has evil MIL told us she's coming down for '3-4 days' post Baby's arrival, but now the batty grandmother is coming too. Apparantly i don't get a say whatsoever in the situation
Also, do i need such thing as a 'nursing sleep bra', or is it just a ploy to get me to part with more money? (NB. i don't usually wear a bra in bed)

SusiS · 22/08/2005 06:50

ouch mum2be! 2 grannies at once!!! - re bras: guess it depends if you leak or not - you don't want to wake up in a paddle

fastasleep · 22/08/2005 09:11

I love my sleep bras! I have huuuuuuuuge boobs (thankyou pregnancy) and they hurt if I don't wear a bra in bed, if you feel comfy without then I wouldn't bother.. RE paddling in puddles when my milk finally kicked in a week or so after Theo was born (we'd just got home from the childrens hospital) the bed was flooded in the morning, and I mean flooded we had to hang the mattress out - it was soaked from top to to bottom about 2 inches into it and stank of sour milk.

Just to scare any of you first timers! (I've never heard of that happening to anyone else though!)

ButtonMoon · 22/08/2005 10:19

I loved my sleep bras too...dead comfy although I haven't got big boobies! Found them really useful when feeding as it allowed me to wear breast pads to mop up dribbles and leaks !!!! Did try without them and found milk trickling over my shoulders whilst sleeping in bed...lovely! Think it does depend whether you leak much but i would invest in some as it is highly likely that you will, particularly during and after feeding. I also leaked quite a lot if i slept on my side as the pressure caused leakage too. Bump has slowed down kicking now and seems to be more wriggling and changing positions, must be getting too squashed in there. MW says baby will be a good size again (DD was almost 10lb as I am coming up the right measuremnets and i am tall. We'll see in about 7 weeks time..how exciting.

jolovett · 22/08/2005 11:57

Hey guys,

Got my final scan this afternoon at 3pm. Can't wait to see JJ for the last time. Quite scary though - they'll be telling me whether I need a c-section or not, if so, I'll be having it 2 weeks early - thats only 4 weeks away!!!!! He'll be a September baby then. I've got a feeling I won't need one though - his head feels so low down the placenta must have moved out of the way. Anyone else feeling like theirs is going to drop out any minute?

Finally finished getting everything for JJ yesterday - we are now fully prepared for his arrival - apart from the fact that we have nowhere to live. House building still not going very quickly and poor dh is spending every waking minute on it.

Final week of work - woohoo - can't wait!

Good luck to all those having their final scans. Hope everything turns out well.

SusiS · 22/08/2005 12:08

sounds like we all are getting there now!!
glad that everyone seems to be allright

my placenta has moved up so i'll be trying for vbac!!

been to see my consultant today to discuss the upcoming birth. well, was not so much a discussion; he more like said 'i see everything's fine. placenta has moved up. so vbac is well in order! i'll see you again in 4 weeks for a sweep!'

ehm, hello!

so i squeezed in a few questions like: how long will you let me 'suffer'? which is my main concern really (had a quite bad experience with last one; was in labour 3,5 days!!!)
BUT he ensured me this is a different hospital and once i am 4 cm she will come out not longer than 8 hours later!!!!

i am a bit more positive now but still not 100% convienced!

Joseyjo · 22/08/2005 13:01

phew.. it has taken me ages to catch up!!! so much stuff going on that i have missed.
i have managed to avoid the boils, but i got a few nasty ingrowing hairs from having my bikini line waxed and not being able to see them. had to ask dh to fish around and get them out which he was not too happy about..
i have another scan on Friday and i am hoping that they will start to talk about potential dates for the cs. the first one they gave me was the 19th which is 4 weeks today!!!! gulp... why is it that days at work drag horribly but weeks fly by? i think i have pretty much everything i need (except for the nappies which haven't been delivered yet!) but i don't feel particularly ready! still last week at work now and only 2 more days in the office.. i can't wait to finish and sleep all day - bliss .
i don't know whether it helps, but for all you ladies with breech babies, my bubba has been cephalic since about 29 weeks and over the weekend decided to turn back round!! it was quite nice to have a break from having little toes tucked under my ribs, but it didn't last.. the next day it woke me up turning round again and now the head is back firmly on my bladder where it bounces every time it gets hiccups!!!
i still love being pg though even when i am feeling spotty and knackered. naff maybe but i think i am going to miss feeling this close to bubba when it comes out. i suppose it will be attached to my boobs most of the time though!!
best get back to my handover.... take care ladies and i'll be back soon!
