Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
jessicaandbumpsmummy · 15/08/2005 18:02

Planned c-sections can be anything from 2 weeks before you are due as far as i know!

SOOOOOOO tired here.... just cant stop sleeping! Suspected SPD driving me mad, really must get it seen to before I go away on Saturday, but not holding out much hope they can do anything!

House move is all set, get the keys on 8th September and move on the 9th..... thats the only thing i can think of at the moment, let alone its going to be about 6 weeks before baby due! Good job the Army are moving us!

4 big sleeps until I "lose" my baby girl for 11 days.... really looking forward to the break but scared im gonna miss her more than im letting on!

nervousmum2be · 16/08/2005 07:07

Morning all, just finished my penultimate shift at work. Just tonight to endure then i'm a lady of leisure

I think Bab must be needing calcium - i've had nearly two pints of milk this morning, and i never usually drink the stuff!

Re caesareans - electives are done any time from 37.5 weeks onwards (assuming all is well), and they like to leave it as late as possible to minimise likelihood of Bab needing specialist treatment afterwards. Only another 3 weeks to go until i get a definite decision on mine!

Jockey · 16/08/2005 09:13

Hope all is relatively well with everyone and happy (belated) birthday J&BM. We seem to have quite a few this month - mine on Thursday and I shall be away for a short break by the coast - hooray! Hope it is a little cooler there.

Lexie - I hope you are now feeling better as I had toothache when pregnant before and it turned out to be a leaking filling - nearly drove me half way up the wall. Had to keep nagging the dentist for treatment as I wasn't sleeping at all. I don't think he realised the agony I was in - just wanted the tooth ripped out there and then! You have my sympathy.

My bump is around 38" at nearly 32 weeks but I look absolutely huge as I am quite small . The belly button is flat. It feels as if it is getting really tight for space in there.

Panicking a bit as haven't got anything ready for babs yet. Oh well, as long as my BOOBS are working I don't think she'll mind....

SusiS · 16/08/2005 10:52

i so wanted to have everything ready for bubs soonish; but guess what - new plans!
we'll have our heating done
they'll start on the 20th sept and will take about a week!!!! (that's up to 5 days before edd!!!) - will have to move in with mil for that time oh joy

i just hope this little girl will stay inside and don't mess with our plans

omg i just measure my waist - it's 50" - and i am normally not THAT big (size 14!) -
bellybutton is coming out now; took some conviencing over the last few weeks so. it kept popping in and out all the time but it seems like it's staying out now!

and oh my, boobs starting leaking
keeps dp away though! he said he 'doesn't want to get drowned' - silly monkey!!!!

hope everyone is allright and that none is suffering from the heat too badly!!!

mawbroon · 16/08/2005 12:11

Jealous of you NM2B. I still have 7 weeks to work (that will take me to 36 weeks) however I do have 2 weeks holiday to take before then. We are going away for one of the weeks and I will just take the money for the other week. I feel like I could just finish now, but I agreed that I would work as long as I could and it makes much more sense financially. I am not struggling with the journey to work - I park the car two miles away from the office (I work right in the city centre where parking almost costs more than I get paid!!!!) and I am still more than capable of walking to the offfice, so really there is nothing coming over me other than laziness.

I too am starting to want stuff done before the baby comes. We have a bogging old carpet in our living room and dining room and I want it replaced with some sort of wipe clean surface (either laminate or lino) as I really don't like the thought of scrubbing sick out of a carpet which I don't even like.... Of course, this will involve emptying all the dining room/living room furniture/bookcases/computer etc etc and lots of dust and disruption, but there is no arguing with me - I HAVE TO HAVE THE NEW FLOOR!!!! I have never felt things so urgently as now.

Glad to see I'm not alone.....

Hello again ladies. Whoops - been a while since I popped in again. Hope you are all really well. Well I'm 30wks today - being an end of Oct girl I feel like the youngest in the class! Wonderif I'll stay in Oct ...hope so!

Off to see GP today for check upetc. Need MORE gaviscon too! Yuk I hate it but it works!Anyone have any other remedies?

I have had to take engagement ring off but have left wedding ring - hands a bit puffy. Friends who have babies said they were the same but still bit anxious. Will be good to see GP for reassurance (I hope!) I am a nurse so tested wee (TMI!) at work yesterday and all normal so hope its ok.

Think we might go shopping on Monday for Mini! Exciting! So far I have a free rattle and 6 vests from a mate in Oz!
Got 32 wk scan on 30th Aug too and then anti D 2 wks after that.

Hope all thoses lovely bumps are well

Till next time

mawbroon · 16/08/2005 12:43

All late October girls together!! I am due on 27th. If baby is 3 days late, he will share birthdays with my sister and if he is 9 days late he will share with DH's grandfather.

Every time I go to the midwife, she tells me that she doesn't expect my baby to be born until November. If the baby is like me, he will be reluctant to leave that warm cosy bed of his until the very last moment!!

I am going to the midwife this afternoon. I have a lovely range of insect bites to show her. I just want her to check that they really are insect bites and not the symptom of some horrible pregnancy related lurgy. Anyone else had this?

MB

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 16/08/2005 12:51

nope - no experience of bites or scary pg lurgy!!

If baby is 13 days early, will be born on DH's birthday!

Due 21st, so hoping i will stay in october.... the way i feel right now september is appealing!

Lexie100 · 16/08/2005 14:57

hi all,

well will have to have root canal surgery on my tooth on thursday . They say it's ok to have this done while pregnant but as i have a dr's appointment tomorrow i'll check up. So apart from being in constant pain am doing much better. Even though it's not scorching today feel really tired and really can't be bothered to do anything.

Baby's room just about sorted - need to put up cot and order pushchair. 8 weeks and 2 days to go

CPT · 16/08/2005 15:20

heh - glad I'm not alone at end of month! I have 2 due dates (have to be different!) 25th or 21st...I know first babies are rarely early but if mini arrives on 18th - thats my dad and sister's birthday! My dad wants to try for 3 generations on same day!

Lexie - ouch poor old you - I had root canal work done a couple of years ago. Its SO worth it when its all done as the pain vanishes! Poor mawbroon with your bites - have not got them but my spotty face feels like bits! That - or a teenager! Not fair when no booze, eating healthy, more sleep etc..

Best get off to doc
CPTx

nervousmum2be · 16/08/2005 17:40

Mawbroon - i'm only finishing this early as i've got to take all my annual leave first (otherwise it gets lost into the ether in the next financial year), so the first 3 weeks are actually holiday rather than maternity leave (which officially starts when i'm 36 weeks). That, plus working 12.5 hour shifts is slowly killing me off, so i'm looking forward to the rest

Too hot this afternoon - could this be the heatwave coming that they've been predicting for months? I'm actually going to miss the air conditioning at work!

BigBumpBonnie · 16/08/2005 21:31

hi all!! got back yesterday from a weekend away. went to a christening and it was lovely. Had a very uncomfortable 4 hour drive there and back and one night whilst there I went to bed without my antacid tablets (far more easier to take than gaviscon and they do work!) I had the WORST heartburn ever that night and ended up sleeping propped up on two pillows with the quilt bundled up under my head to try and keep upright. It was a nightmare!! Knew my tablets were in the room but was sharing with dd (2) and really didn't want to wake her up by rooting around looking for them so thought I'd just suffer instead

My little one's still breech and it really hurts when she moves. Her head is right under my ribs and I can feel it clearly. It's a bit worrying really as my toddler often jumped on the top of my bump and I wasn't too worried as I thought it was baby's bum but now I know it's her head! She is so big now I can't see how she can possibly turn right round in that small space. I'm nearly 33 weeks now and have my hospital apt on 9th september to find out if she's turned so she's still got a few weeks. If not I've decided to elect for a c section. If I have a c section then she'll probably be born in September seems like hardly any time at all!!

I've noticed that quite a few babies on here are breech at the moment so it'll be interesting to see how many turn!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 16/08/2005 21:34

I was just about to say that bonnie - we do have a lot of breaches on here! Assuming mine is still breach as kicks are still low down in my pelvis.... not helping the SPD much!

BigBumpBonnie · 17/08/2005 09:31

I think I've just started to get some form of SPD as well. I'm finding it very uncomfortable to walk and it sort of hurts in both groin areas (is that what it feels like?) If your baby stays breech Jess are you going to try for a natural birth?

mawbroon · 17/08/2005 11:20

I had my routine appointment with the midwife yesterday. She had no answers about my pregnancy lurgy spots, but just said that I should keep an eye on them and go to the doc if they got any worse.

My baby is lying oblique at the moment with his head towards the top end. I know I have a couple more weeks before I start worrying about him being breech so hopefully he will move that butt in time. The midwife showed me how to feel which end is the head and which is the bum. I had sussed this anyway, but it was nice to know that I had been correct all along

My boss is on holiday just now and reception phoned to say that there was a bunch of flowers had just been delivered for her. I had to go and pick them up and then everybody started on the "ooh, lovely flowers" etc etc and I had to explain umpteen times that they weren't for me.

Has anyone else received the free CD from Pampers where they play some classical music and then let you hear it as your baby does in the womb? DH and I were ROFL last night as Beethoven's 5th came on with all this muffly gurgling noises and a heartbeat over the top. Thanks very much Pampers, but I still won't be buying your nappies!!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/08/2005 13:00

Bonnie... SPD is VERY liek that! Very sore groin, tops of legs and lower back!

Cant walk cant sit cant lay for any length of time - bloody nightmare!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/08/2005 13:00

oh, and NO WAY will i try for natural birth - babies come out head first in my book, otherwise they use the sun roof!!!

mawbroon · 18/08/2005 11:30

LOL J&BM. Sun roof!

Last night was the first night that I have had difficulty getting to sleep because of the baby. He was rolling around and kicking and just generally having a carry on in there. He seemed to be lying so that the kicks were on my insides rather than out the way, and some of them were so hard that they actually made me feel a little queasy! Luckily he calmed down and I managed to drift off.

I have swapped my days off this week and when I finish today then I am off work until Tuesday and then will only have 6 weeks to work!! Yippee

Hope everyone is well.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 18/08/2005 11:51

im in awe of you lot working still... i gave up work at 16 weeks with jess because i had such a bad pregnancy and i havent been back since!

off to pick up dad in a bit, he is staying here tonigth and then we are leaving EARLY tomorrow to take them to the airport.

Roll on saturday!

Elf1981 · 18/08/2005 11:57

23 more days at work. But that includes today, an away day and a bank holiday. So after this shift, I have only 20 days left!
Busy training and writing procedures so no chance of resting on my laurels!

32weeks + 1 today. Walking to work today and was thinking "hmmm, so, 7 weeks and 6 days left til due date... doesn't seem long... hmmm... SEVEN WEEKS?? Oh my lord..."

mawbroon · 18/08/2005 12:40

Elf - it's even worse if you work it out in sleeps!! I only have 70 sleeps left until I become a sleep deprived zombie for several months. Like you say - eeeeeeeeeek

jolovett · 18/08/2005 15:03

Hey guys - sorry ain't posted for a while.

Having some pains really low down lately. JJ's head feels so low down, like he could pop out any time! Hope he doesn't - house is still a long way off. In fact, looks like we'll be moving in with my parents for a few weeks which is gutting, but nothing much we can do about it. DH is spending every spare minute building the house, plus working full time so can't go any faster than we are.

I really don't think I'm going to last the 7 weeks I've got left. Don't know why - just got a feeling.

Never mind - got our last scan on Monday - get to see him 1 last time before the big day! I'll be told whether I need a c-section or not then.

Only got 3 more weddings left to film and 2 more days left to work - so I'll be joining you ladies of leisure by a week Sat. Can't wait. Gonna nap whenever I want - a luxury I've so been looking forward to.

Hope you've all got a bit more energy than me at the mo - totally knackered.

nervousmum2be · 18/08/2005 19:56

Me too, on the totally knackered front. My first proper day of leisure, and i was wide awake at the crack of dawn! Still, all good practice for when Bab makes his appearance

Have been hot and grumpy all day. At one point, in the middle of Tesco's, i loudly told DP it must be his turn to be pregnant, as i've had enough Damned hormones! Anyone else suffering?

morningpaper · 18/08/2005 20:06

33+5 here - had a migraine start at work and had to go home because my vision was disturbed (didn't get any pain fortunately) - all my colleagues REALLY p*ssed me off saying things like "Oh you really shouldn't be working now" and "Your body is telling you to rest" - like sitting at a desk arsing with Excel for 8 hours a week isn't a BIG REST from running around after my 2 year-old!!

Mawbroon I got three insect bites on my legs a few weeks ago and they REALLY swelled up, it looked horrific, like I was ulcerated! They are still slightly red. Never had it before. Perhaps your pregnancy immune system responds differently to insect bites sometimes?

Midwife is SOOO casual this second time around - saw her this week and was out in two minutes and she said "See you in 4 weeks then." I was thinking OMG I might have had it by then!!!!
