Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Just like to say it's my birthday 29 today

Well i agree - i had the worst nights sleep. I lost count at how many times i went to the loo and was actually glad when it was morning so i could get up!

DH taking me out for dinner - i am really excited but what to wear. It'll probably be the last time before the little one is born. Think i'll have to get the F**K me shoes out you were all talking about.

jai38 · 16/09/2005 10:26

Happy Birthday - wear the shoes, you can take them off under the table and get a cab home - therefore no water retention problem!!!

dinosaur · 16/09/2005 11:42

Can I crash the thread a minute to ask whether Hester's started her maternity leave yet?

Hester, are you out there??

BigBumpBonnie · 16/09/2005 13:59

Hi all! Just back from the hospital, seems like we were in there forever. Had to wait for a scan and then wait to see the consultant. They had some problems and we were the last to be seen out of about thirty!! Had 2 year old dd with us so was a bit of a nightmare, but we got some very good news. She's still head down...yippee , and all is well, she's still a she and at the moment weighs 6lb 12oz . I have a tendancy to go a week late with my pregnancies so in theory she could be near 9lb when born....OUCH!! The thought of an epidural seems very appealing. Anyway, don't have to go back to the hospital unless I go 10 days overdue so just a case of waiting now. I feel very reassured that she has been checked and is fine, as I haven't seen her since 20weeks and you never know what's going on in there!

Hopefully I'll be able to sleep better tonight!

morningpaper · 16/09/2005 14:03

Hurray! Glad you are feeling better about things Bonnie!

I have just been printing labels for the birth announcements ... very organised here!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 16/09/2005 14:12

IM BACK!

Move went well, did a bit too much and paid for it over the weekend!

Not had a great week, all of us have had stinking colds, followed by D&V the last 2 days, so feeling pretty rough!

MW appointment yesterday - bubs is still head down (yay!!!) but free.... and apparantly can stay free until birth!!! BP normal for me and no other worries - she didnt measure me this time though, jsut said i "looked" about right!

5 weeks to go!!!

What is it with moving house/flat pack/decorating etc and being heavily pregnant? This time, not satisfied with moving house, I'm trying to reorganise the bedrooms and yes, we have ordered the dreaded flat pack furniture. There's always tears and trantrums over putting this together (and I mean dh here). I'm half dreading it. There is no hurry for this reorganisation but I have an urge to do it right now!

Glad your move went well J&BM & hope you all get well soon.

Excellent news BigBumpBonnie!

Happy Birthday Lexie - enjoy your day.

Moomin · 17/09/2005 09:47

Just off to town for the last time in a while, with dh and dd! She's choosing a present for the baby and I'm going to buy some of that semi-permanent mascara so my eyes don't look like piss-holes in the snow in all the photos, like they did last time, after not wearing make-up for so long.

...and I will be taking my hairdrier AND maybe my straighteners AND a bag of make-up to hospital, but that's because I'll be in for so long and I'm sure even the inmates of Tenko would have been grateful for a hairbrush and some lippy after being there for all that time.
so there!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/09/2005 09:48

good on you moomin.... i would have thought you were crazy to take that stuff in just to have the baby, but of course you have a VERY valid excuse!

Moomin · 17/09/2005 09:59

ooo you don't know the half of it! I've treated myself to no less than FOUR glam new nighties and a lovely M&S link waffle dressing gown; I've had my roots done and I've been slapping on the Johnsons Holiday skin lotion....

it's sad really isn't it? Any excuse to try and cheer myself up!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/09/2005 10:01

like you dont deserve it!!!! Jeez, if i had the energy i would be doing that stuff too.... i can just about manage to geto ut of bed let alone anything else!!!

BigBumpBonnie · 17/09/2005 10:49

good for you moomin!! I've been doing the johnsons holiday sun thing, and wanted to get my roots done before the big day but now so uncomfortable I don't fancy sitting in the hairdressers for two hours. I'm going to have to wait until afterwards, as soon as I can walk I'll be getting them done Glad your move went ok, j&bm, just try to take it easy. You lot seem to be much more active than me. I took to the sofa weeks ago

hester · 17/09/2005 10:52

Hi dino! I have another week to go - will email you xx

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/09/2005 12:41

ive been attatched to the sofa for a week now and cant see me leaving it in the next 5 weeks!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/09/2005 12:42

in fact, im that lazy, dad has just arranged for sainsburys to deliver some basics i need tomorrow... bread milk etc that i cant be bothered to go shopping for!

mawbroon · 17/09/2005 13:17

Hello all. Starting to get a bit worried as my baby is still breech . Anyone else in this position? I am 34+4 and seeing the midwife on Tuesday so I suppose if he is still breech she will start talking ECV and sections

I am actually starting to feel a little worried. I know there is still time for him to turn, but he will be getting bigger every day......

Lexie100 · 17/09/2005 14:36

Lower back killing me today and baby kicking like mad. Have been beautifying myself too, otherwise i think i would slit my wrists as feel so big and frumpy. Can we use fake tan?

Have been into town to get the last few baby things, think i'm now sorted. Really scary.

Are we going to set up a web site for after the little ones are born? Even if it's just to put up some photos.

morningpaper · 17/09/2005 15:19

Moomin what ARE you going to do with nighties when you are bleeding all over the place and HOW are you going to access your boobs which will need whipping out every five minutes?!

Lexie I am with you on the fatandfrumpy front - I feel SO SO SO hideous, I can't BEAR my fat sausage fingers and extra fecking CHINS! My midwife has weighed me at my last two appointments and I've closed my eyes both times. I hate looking like this.

DH has taken DD out this afternoon and I have just spent two hours gardening - mowing the lawns and doing some autumn cleaning up. Now I've come in, washed my hands and downed two paracetamol because in about an hour my back will be in screaming agony!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/09/2005 15:24

MP - WILL YOU TAKE IT EASY!!!

Jeez woman, you determined to go into labour early or something!!

morningpaper · 17/09/2005 15:33

Hehe I found an email yesterday that I sent six hours before going into labour with dd (who was a week late) and I was out digging the garden and planting spring bulbs for the whole afternoon!

I'm not the sitting-on-sofa type of laydee....

Anyway I've only got 15 days until my due date so I'm sure the bubba is nice and big now...!

Moomin · 17/09/2005 16:27

lalalala [fingers in ears emoticon] Not listening about nasty blood on my new nighties and milky bits and things like that....

I didn't seem to have too much bleeding last time and used 3 towels at a time (2 in the gusset* and one across my scar!) Two of my new nighties are maternity ones that allow for norks to be hoiked out and I'm not sure how long I'll give the breast-feeding this time anyway. Dd and I were rubbish at it last time and I'm not mad-keen on the idea this time round, for various reasons for which I make no apologies. I'll give it a go but I'm not setting myself up for disappointment and guilt like I did last time.

Town was successful. Dd has chosen a woolly sheep for the baby and spent her birthday money on the most frivolous sequined sparkly dressing up shoes from Monsoon - that's my girl!

*gusset = what a great word! Makes me feel like Les Dawson just saying it (and looking in the mirror, that's not a million miles from how I look at the moment either!)

nervousmum2be · 17/09/2005 17:51

Afternoon Ladies, well i'm getting v stressed at my latest flat pack furnature venture (i know, i'm a glutton for punishment!) - it's supposed to be a kitchen display cabinet, and all was going really well till it came to nailing the back in place and now it's really wonky [grumpy icon]. In true pregnant woman style, i've flounced out here to the computer and left DP to fix it

nervousmum2be · 17/09/2005 18:47

Yay! Cabinet fixed. I just need to fill it with all our junk now

Have a good evening x

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/09/2005 18:50

good news NM2B - you have a good one too x

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 17/09/2005 18:51

CAN WE HAVE A NEW THREAD PLEASE?!!!!

Titled - homeward stretch or something!!!
