Hi Elf, don't worry about a planned c-section - my friend had one recently and said it was LOVELY - all the staff chilled out, dancing around to some jazz music and chatting with her - AND she got to have loads of sex afterwards without spending 18 months requiring painkillers and crying every time her husband came near her (like - ahem - ME).

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 07/08/2005 19:59

Hey elf!

Hoping for hospital now to be honest.... the epidural keeps calling me!

baby is laying right accross the top of my belly with arms and legs hanging down! My MW isnt too concerned at the moment either, next checkup is 31/8 and ill be 32+4 because of going on holiday when my next appointment due. Not sure when it will be an issue.

Dont like the idea of trying to deliver a breach baby - surely its gotta hurt more and what if the legs and body is out but the head gets stuck?!

MW did say somethign about giving me some exercises to try next time i see her if baby still breach..... could be interesting!

Sick of looking like a sack of spuds now - just cant believe how much bigger i am than i was with jess.... im bigger now than i was full term with her!

SusiS · 07/08/2005 21:30

we get the odd hiccups too - ds was knows for that alot! and even long after birth

i wouldn't worry up till week 36! baby is still moving about alot.

bubs was VERY active today! kicking me alot and the whole bump was moving from side to side - i asked dp to hold his hands on; that normally stops her - not today!!!
untill he suggested to give her some icecream - that worked

hester · 07/08/2005 21:55

SilverLining, if you're still reading this - no, no recent emails from you! Could you try again/CAT me and see if that works?

Jockey · 08/08/2005 03:20

Hi all. Not much to report except I really feel ready to shed my load right now! Not sleeping at all well (it's my turn tonight jessicaandbumpsmummy!). The slightest noise wakes me up, as if I'm already on high alert for a newborn. My maternity clothes are beginning to feel tight as well - I seem to have grown out of my swimming cossie and have only worn it once. Other than that, all appears to be well. The baby is lying across me at the moment, apparently. Well she feels really bony & her little kicks and prods feel like daggers at times, can definitely say that much.

Oh well, I must try and get some sleep now as the monster will be up in three hours. Perhaps Big Brother will send me off...

Take care everyone.

Sorry to hear about your mum J&BM, anniversarys are always hard, and you must feel it very keenly with all your pg hormones. Sending a virtual (((hug))).

LOL at all you mums to be who didn't know about baby boy erections. Mens engagement with their dangly bits starts very early .

I am with all you girls who can't sleep on their backs anymore, it hurts.

Moomin · 08/08/2005 08:53

Hope today goes ok for you, J&BM. The anniv of my mum's death is going to be about 2 weeks after the baby's born so I know how you feel about it being both a sad and a happy time. You never stop missing your mum though...

I dreamt I had her last night. The birth was skipped over (happily) and I was just holding her in a tightly wrapped-up white blanket. She was really quiet and still and serene-looking and tiny (in fact the exact opposite of what I'm expecting in RL!) Weird...

And elf1981 - don't panic about a c-section. As mp said it really can be the most positive experience. I'm really not worried at all about having to go through it again this time round. IF it does look like a c-section for you, let me know and I'll give you some tips if you like.

Anniv meal with dh was deeeelicious, btw, but I was far too stuffed to even contemplate sex afterwards.

Moomin · 08/08/2005 08:54

dreamt I had the baby, of course!

nervousmum2be · 08/08/2005 09:38

Morning. Woken up with the most excruciating (?sp) lower leg cramps this morning - my whole foot seemed to be in spasm till i leapt out of bed (no mean feat!) and put my full body weight on it. most uncomfortable!

BigBumpBonnie · 08/08/2005 12:21

I also feel just as big now as I was when I was due to give birth with dd. Jess, I wouldn't be at all concerned about babies position at the moment, my midwife hasn't even noted down or told me what position mine's in as she said it's too early to worry about (I'm nearly 32 weeks). I actually wouldn't mind a c section. The thought of knowing when it's going to happen, not having any pain and also giving my poor pelvic floor a rest . I went to get some bigger maternity clothes today as my size 12s are getting a bit tight. Doesn't matter what I wear now I just look and feel like a big fat frump! Really begrudge buying maternity clothes with only 8 weeks left but I'll shove them on ebay after and hopefully get something back. Going away at the weekend so have to get something to wear. Feel like just staying at home and hiding most of the time though, constantly tired, hot, sweaty and have started to feel a bit sick again.

Hope the anniversary of losing your mum isn't too hard for you Jess, I lost my mum 20 years ago (i was only 8) but still have a hard time every time the anniversary comes round. at least you've got a lovely peaceful holiday to look forward to with your dh . Anyway spose I'd better go and attempt to do some housework!

BigBumpBonnie · 08/08/2005 12:22

I meant I lost my mum 25 years ago I just made myself 5 years younger!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/08/2005 12:38

Hey girls. Thanks for the kind words. Im ok, bearing up quite well considering!

Just got confirmation of our house move today - roll on 9th September!!!

Means ill be off line for a few weeks probably, but hopefully not long enough to miss any vital birth announcements!!!

Lexie100 · 08/08/2005 15:14

J & B mummy - i did a house move a few weeks ago and i was so tired and that's without lifting anything. I think it's cause you don't get to sit for a whole weekend. All i did was clean and it knocked me for 6. Make sure you don't do anything and take some time out. Good luck.

Cleaned the wheelie bin this afternoon; made scones the other day and cleaned all the kitchen cupboards. I seriously think their is something wrong with me!!!

Heatburn a killer today and the heat making me soooo tired.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/08/2005 15:55

i dont intend on doing a thing! Because its an army house, the cleaners will be in on the 6th - 3 days before we move in, and we get removals who come in and pack everything and unpack everything for us. Should be fairly easy!

Lexie100 · 08/08/2005 16:11

that sounds like the way to move, lucky you

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/08/2005 17:49

yeah, will just have an active 13 mnth old to control for the day! God i need a play pen for that day!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/08/2005 20:36

ok, second timers who need a double buggy..... i have one and need rid! Anyone want it let me know!

BigBumpBonnie · 08/08/2005 20:39

would it be alright for a newborn and a 2 year old. thing is i bought a travel system for the new baby and am expecting toddler to walk everywhere but a double might come in handy on trips to town etc. thing is need to ask dh as have just bought the other one!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/08/2005 20:41

bonnie.... yeah, its bloody gorgeous.... check out the for sale board under quick sale needed..... just want rid! it has only been used about 10 times max! only one cosy toes though, but doubt your 2yo would need or fit into one anyway!

BigBumpBonnie · 08/08/2005 20:43

just seen it on for sale board, it does look great and would come in handy. I'm not anywhere near you though so would need courier, have u any idea how much that would be? I'd also better check with dh before committing as he's the one who'll be paying for it .

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 08/08/2005 20:44

no worries - get back to me when you can.... ill check the courier charge now!

BigBumpBonnie · 08/08/2005 20:45
