Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
fastasleep · 12/09/2005 08:48

Aww red! Poor thing... I feel awful... again! I must be a bloomin hypochondriac (yuck what a word to spell at 8:30 in the morning!) I think I have an infection down there, in fact I think I've had it for quite a while it just didn't seem like a normal infection so I left it alone... it doesn't sting when I pee at all but it's soooo incredibly irritated down there and has been for ages, it's like my CM (oh sigh tmi) has turned to acid or something it burns what it touches! Now have horrible ache around bladder and my temp keeps swinging all over the place like with flu... doh! Well the midwife's growing stuff with my wee at the lab anyway so I'll see what she says lol...

Can't believe we're on hospital bags!

triceratops · 12/09/2005 09:32

Hope everyone is feeling ok and getting some sleep. Ds went back to pre school today so I am in heaven three hours of bliss.

Redtartanlass · 12/09/2005 10:16

Fastasleep ? how awful do you sound??when will they find out what you?ve got? Can?t they just give you some antibiotics anyway? Talking of overnight bags, have you packed your hospital bag yet? In fact have you got anything ready? Poor dp is going to have to do a quick whiz round Mothercare if ds comes early!!

Triceratops ? 3 full hours eh? What are you going to do with yourself?? This is my last day off work sick, mind you would be easier at work than with 20 month ds climbing over me and 2o year ds, still in bed?TIRED!!!!

Moomin · 12/09/2005 10:20

Piggiesmum - yes, I've had the steroids in case I bleed because that would mean I have to have a c-sect there and then.

OOOoooooooooooooo - I'm in a horrible dilemmma today to do with hospital and the plac praev. I don't want to hijack this thread too much with all my woes, though, so I'll start a new thread on 'pregnancy' and see if anyone can advise me what to do!

fastasleep · 12/09/2005 10:21

I have some pink dresses from Next with their tags still on, and a half knitted blanket pmsl!! I have to go loft hunting for the moses basket and wash everything and find all those newborn sleepsuits and buy pads (eugh) etc etc etc... ! To rub it in my MIL was saying how DH was born at around this time... aaaaaaaaargh!

My GP sucks... I don't have an appt until the Tuesday after next, so I'm debating what to do!

I want a three hour nap!! DS wakes up at 6:30 lol and like a foooooool I made us all go on a bus then a train then a walk then to see red squirrels then to a beach then back past the squirrels then another walk to the train station then a train then a bus.... then a visit to the PILs... yesterday (duuuuh!)

definately not envious of those brave brave people still working... have no idea how you do it!

Redtartanlass · 12/09/2005 10:32

fastasleep - you can't wait until a week on Tuesday feeling that crap......you will really make yourself ill. Can you not phone the surgery and do the whole crying down the phone routine, I find it works better than threatening to sue . Serioulsy though, feeling that is not good for you or the baby. Just give them a ring.

ds1 has just got out of bed, mainly because I sent ds2 to annoy him, and he said (ds1 not ds2!)there is going to be another petrol blockade. Is this true? How will we get to hospital???

fastasleep · 12/09/2005 10:34

I don't know red, but I'm having a homebirth so naaah ....call for an ambulance, they'll have petrol!

I guess I will call the GPs and sniffle pathetically at them....

BigBumpBonnie · 12/09/2005 10:43

I'm so sorry for those of you feeling bad I've been moaning and i've got it pretty good all things considered. Just can't sleep. Go to bed every night exhausted but then can't drop off. The sight of dh snoring next to me makes me want to suffocate him with the pillow!! How comes he gets loads of lovely sleep when I spend each day like a zombie. (think i've got that pmt thing someone mentioned )

I feel more than ready to get this baby out, whichever way. Want to feel myself again, want to feel like going out, want a waistline, want to be able to put my shoes on without nearly passing out.......!

It will all be worth it in the end

I'm really looking forward to my scan on Friday, can't wait to see her again (and check the baby is still a her!). In my 37th week and counting the days!

Redtartanlass · 12/09/2005 10:45

fast - Lucky you about the home birth, ds2 was supposed to be a home birth but he ended up having to be induced, so had to go to hospital. Discharged myself as soon as he was born though!!! Can't have a home birth this time as dd only has one artery in her cord so there may be complications. Is this your first home birth?

Redtartanlass · 12/09/2005 10:48

bbb - is Bonnie your name? That's one of my top 3 names for dd. Agree totally about feeling "normal" again. Will it ever happen?

Joseyjo · 12/09/2005 11:35

can any of you remember what normal feels like?!!! i certainly can't. i have been pg since feb 04 with only 3 months off inbetween and i am almost nrevous about not being. periods certainly don't appeal!!
this baby may be better cooked than we realised though as i have had a few "proper" contractions over the last few days. i am now on contraction watch, with my dh panicking every time i move or moan!! as i am not supposed to be labouring AT ALL, it is moderately critical that i get into hospital in time for them to sort out a planned section so i don't end up with a general like last time - which was horrid and scarey.
oh well... all good fun i suppose. i will keep you posted if anything exciting happens! my planned section is a week on wednesday, so it is not long to wait even if the contractions go away completely.

Piggiesmum · 12/09/2005 12:23

Bad news here on the placenta pravia front too. Consultant wanted to admit me there and then, we managed to compromise on Wednesday but then dh insisted I go in tomorrow anyway cos he works away from home in the week so I'd be on my own.

So we are going shopping this afternoon for all the stuff we need for baby and to stop me going loopy in hospital. Am going to buy some wool and learn to knit lol

So if I don't get chance to get on-line again, I hope everything goes smoothly for everyone and see you all in the Post-natal section

Take care
Piggiesmum

BigBumpBonnie · 12/09/2005 12:30

Piggiesmum, so so sorry to hear you have to go in Best place to be though considering but I know that's no consolation. If we don't see you on here again before the birth HUGE bucketfuls of good luck and hope everything goes smoothly for you

Redtartanlass, no Bonnie isn't my name but was my first choice for dd. I absolutely love the name but unfortunately dh didn't so we had to compromise. So I thought if I can't have it for my daughter, I'll have it for myself on here

Redtartanlass · 12/09/2005 12:31

oh pmum - Good luck to you. When is your actual due date?

ChaCha · 12/09/2005 12:43

Hi ladies

Am popping over from November thread to see how you all are. I'm curious as to what lies ahead...

Hope everyone is well, happy and enjoying their final weeks, I still have 10 to go but am feeling I've been PG forever!

Love x

fastasleep · 12/09/2005 13:33

Aww Piggie sending you lots of good luck vibes too! Can't wait to see your happy birth announcement try the book 'Stitch n Bitch A Knitters Handbook' it's a lighthearted way of learning! (If you can send DH or whoever off to a bookshop that is..)

Jo! Contractions! How scary... I hope they stay away, it's typical isn't it that one of us who's not meant to get any contractions is one of the first to get them!

Red yes it's my first homebirth... and it will go to plan, not that there's much of a plan! Dear god...lol I need a plaaaan!

fastasleep · 12/09/2005 13:35

(Ooh sorry forgot to say hi Cha Cha, @ your smaller bump! )

Redtartanlass · 12/09/2005 13:45

fastasleep - is your bedroom all ready? I had about 20 canisters of gas and air (can't remember the correct medical term) and loads of other medical equipment for about 4 weeks before I was due. I can still see my neighbours face when the poor midwife and dp lugged it all in. Gosh I'm a bit envious , I really don't want to go to hospital!!!

ChaCha - Hi, 10 weeks or 4 weeks, it still seems like forever

fastasleep · 12/09/2005 13:48

Nah they haven't been around yet, I'm only 34 weeks though so I have a a fortnight to go before they fill my house with gas and air! That'll be tempting..lol..

mawbroon · 12/09/2005 15:18

Oh my goodness. This thread is making me nervous! Good luck to everyone. I am frightened each time I log on that there will be another announcement!!

I have just come back from Mothercare with some bits and bobs, bit still feel very unprepared although i still have 6 weeks to go.

One of my legs has been numb a few times over the last few days. Anyone else had this? I phoned the hospital and they asked a million questions before deciding that it was probably just the baby lying on a nerve. DH is not very pleased at me. He wants me to stop working NOW but I have told my boss that I will stay till the end of the month. I reckon that I get more rest at my work sitting on my butt all day than I do when I am at home nesting, but DH is hearing none of it.

oh, what's a girl to do.....

Hugs to all who are feeling a bit miserable just now.

MB

Redtartanlass · 12/09/2005 15:33

MB - I get a numb leg all the time, if I get up and walk about and rub it, it eventually comes back .Thought it was just me, didn't realise it was baby resting on nerve. It is a weird sensation though eh?

Have 4 weeks to go....still completely and utterly disorganised. Had a brilliant relaxing day today, ds1 took ds2 out to Halfords and then McDs, so spent the day on the web. Oh well back to work tomorrow.

Jockey · 12/09/2005 16:13

Good luck Piggiesmum xxxx

This thread is making me pretty nervous too. I've halfheartedly packed a bag but just can't get into gear & just feel like loafing about the place like a beached whale. Hoping that I will wake up & it will dawn on me that I'm actually going to have a baby fairly soon! With being late each time in the past, I am tending to think that I have longer to go (another 8 days on top of due date). Getting a bit casual here. This could be a mistake!

Take care everyone.

triceratops · 12/09/2005 17:18

I have just eaten a cream cake. But I did mop and hoover and vax the floors this morning which means I now have killer backache.

I was sorry to hear about the badly behaved placentas. I hope the hospital is not too bad.

hester · 12/09/2005 21:49

Good luck piggiesmum!

And everyone else... we're really getting into the 'can't wait for this to be over' phase now, aren't we? Not long before the birth stories start flooding in thick and fast!

fastasleep · 13/09/2005 08:28

I'm about to call and attempt to get an appointment at the GP about this infection thingy... I don't want by lady bits stared at! I'm only good at that bit when I'm in too much pain to care where they prod! (I've never even had a smear) so apart from labour no one's ever gone delving down there and I don't want them too either..waaahhhhh....
