Yay Mampam. Congratulations and welcome to the world, Tilly May! Very happy this pregnancy is over for you now, too.

NizzyNoodles · 28/05/2010 20:53

Congratulation mampam on safe arrival of Tilly May!

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/05/2010 20:57

Oh congratulations mampam, and yay for no SPD pain already! Not quite as big as you thought, but a jolly good weight there!!

MonkeyMargot · 28/05/2010 20:57

ooh how exciting goodname. Definitely sounds like the real deal! Best of luck and keep us all posted!

cheekymonkey congrats on successful pregnancy this time - hope all goes well for you.

Am guessing no news is good news as far as mampam is concerned? Hopefully some news by the morning?

filly glad you are making the most of your mat leave. Don't think a birthday supper is a silly idea - you know your body better than anyone and if both your previous babies were late, likelihood is that this one will be too.

Am so chuffed as have finally finished work today - hooray! A month ago, i felt so depressed and didn't think I'd make it. But all over with now. Phew. Now just got to focus on batch cooking, organising baby clothes, and catching up with RL friends. Saw osteopath this morning who predicted I would be in labour next week. I don't mind when really now as have got the main stuff organised. Am 35+2 today but full-term for twins is 37 and average gestation in my hospital is 36. Even though I know it's not going to be easy with 3 little one's, I'm so sick of being PG and carrying 4 stone of extra weight around, I want to get on with it.
Sick of carpal tunnel, chronic back pain, sleeplessness, swollen legs/feet/hands, and heartburn. moan moan moan......

MonkeyMargot · 28/05/2010 21:04

Cross posts - many many congratulations mampam on arrival of Tilly May - another whopper! Hope your CS recovery is speedy x

woofie · 28/05/2010 21:22

Hurray mampam!! Welcome Tilly! Bet all the crap of the last 9 months seems worth it now another lovely name, btw- this thread has excellent taste.

Given that I feel the size of a small planet, can't imagine how all of you twins-bearers are getting on, with v healthy sized babies too by the sounds of it.

Am beginning to get really excited now, what with all these new arrivals. Can we have more pics when you're ready?!

I hope she won't mind me saying, but earlier I stumbled across ginafb, who v sadly had to leave the thread after her baby girl was diagnosed w spina bifida at her 20 wk scan- she's now on the due in feb thread

dinosaurinmybelly · 29/05/2010 01:09

Wonderful news mampam I am so delighted that you are relatively pain-free now and that you have a beautiful bundle that makes it all worthwhile. Tilly May is a gorgeous name... enjoy!

xx
Sinead.

LittleRobbo · 29/05/2010 08:32

Yay mampam fabulous news so relieved for you

gizmo · 29/05/2010 09:42

Hooray Mampam! Congratulations & welcome to Tilly

gaelicsheep · 29/05/2010 09:52

Hello ladies. I've been completely neglecting this club for months now . Now I see some of you have already had your babies - congratulations one and all! And to the ladies who are pg after MC - congratulations best of luck!

I have a question. Who else is getting constant period-type pains enough to keep them awake at night/need paracetamol? I'm guessing this might be "pre-labour" but I read it could go on for weeks. More common with no 2 apparently? I'm not quite 37 weeks yet so it would be quite early for anything to start properly, but bump has dropped a lot this week and baby's head was 3/5 at my last check a couple of weeks ago.

Anyone else?

imkeepingmum · 29/05/2010 10:03

Hi congratulations on the new arrival mampam!

gaelicsheep i had 5 hours of the period type pains a couple of nights ago through which I was unable to sleep and although they are not regular now I am still getting the odd ones...36 weeks now so guessing they are braxton hicks, but they haven't actually been "painful" as such up until now. Previously just felt a tightening but now they are getting stronger. I know nothing though as I'm a first timer

NotGrownUpEnough · 29/05/2010 10:03

congratulations mampan xx

meggymegmegs · 29/05/2010 11:00

Hooray mampam, congratulations on the birth of Tilly May, delighted for you.

greensnail Alice is just gorgeous! Thanks for posting pics, you must be so proud.

Had a mw visit this week and worryingly Jimmy's weight has dropped for a second time. I had been rather foolishly proud of getting him into a little routine where he was feeding every 2-3 hours and about every 3.5 hours during the night which felt about right. Anyway, it seems he just wasn't getting enough so we are now on an intensive feeding regime where any whimper is rewarded with a boob in his face. Entirely indignified for all involved but it seems to be reaping rewards as I can see his cheeks chubbing up a bit (unless I'm hallucinating through lack of sleep which is entirely possible!). My boobs currently feel as though they're about to drop off, I am utterly exhausted, tracey hogg has been banished for the time being but I am oddly happy and still over the moon 99% of the time.

Not sure who was saying a few pages back about feeling unprepared as a first time mum. I felt exactly the same, don't worry. I honestly think that even if you did feel prepared you could never really anticipate how it feels so just enjoy the ride! It's going to happen anyway.

Right, I'd better wind this little blighter currently using my nipple as a dummy, he's bound to whimper again in 20 mins!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/05/2010 12:19

I've started a thread for positive stories about turning breech babies after 36 weeks, to give those of us in this position hope, as there seem to be so many of us! here

MrsAlwaysRight · 29/05/2010 12:55

Congratulations mampam on the safe arrival of Tilly May!

Good news about ginafb

Feeling tired and grumpy today. Got a book from library for DD1 about a little girl adjusting to a new baby which had me in floods of tears. Think I'll leave that one for DH to read to her!

Sunworshipper · 29/05/2010 13:24

Mampam you did it! Congratulations on the birth of Tilly May. Hope you are finally being well looked after.

Good luck Goodname LaT your DH sounds lovely wanting to do all the things that will really really help. It will be easy to be nice to him. Your post reminded me of some advice I was given by a very old lady just before I got married which really stuck. She said, always save your best behaviour for your DH because normally we also save our best behaviour for our friends or even strangers when it's our DHs who actually deserve the best of us. It did make me think - and of course it does work both ways! Hope you do have a good weekend all together.

LaTrucha · 29/05/2010 14:20

Well, I am definitely on my best behaviour but things are a bit strained already! You see, the reason why DH has that massive list of things to do is because he's a workaholic. I have been chivvied and hurried and rushed all morning to do this, this, this and that. The one thing I cannot take ATM is being rushed and chivvied. It makes me vomit. Literally. I am biting my tonuge because I know he thinks he's being fantastic. Iwould rather he sat and hae a cuppa with me TBH.

I'm off to bed in order to keep the peace while DD is asleep!

MeggyMegs, IMO could not be more right about the experience of having a baby. You sound like you're doing fantastically by Jimmy. Well done you.

LaTrucha · 29/05/2010 17:18

Being on my best behaviour worked. He relaxed during the afternoon and hasn't done anything useful. Hooray!

MrsAlwaysRight · 29/05/2010 17:27

How embarrassing - Last night FIL came over and while we were chatting I realised one of my boobs had leaked all over my top!! Poor bloke

DH and I are off out for a meal tonight as will probably be our last one for some time. I've had a look at the menu online and have decided on the pudding I want already - there had better be some as I wouldn't want be the person telling the irrational pregnant hormonal woman that someone else has had the last Praline Souffle!!!!

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

fillybuster · 29/05/2010 20:48

Congrats Mampam, and welcome to Tilly Hope you're recovering OK from the cs, and am so pleased to hear the SPD is subsiding already...hurrah!

Am in a complete hormonal tizz at the moment - had a really fab day with DD yesterday, delivered her and DS to their respective GPs no problem, had a lovely pedicure and fab dinner at home with DH afterwards....then DH found me sobbing my heart out in the attic whilst trying to sort baby clothes at midnight because I suddenly felt so woefully underprepared for this baby....

I have spent today (lovely and relaxings sans dsc!) feeling like a heavy cold is coming on, so that may have something to do with it...but even so....

It sounds like everything is exactly as it should be Gizmo, although I do hope you have an easier night tonight! My main worry is that the senior mw and consultant both confirmed that its fairly unusual to have 2 babies back-to-back....normally your body figures it out after the first one, and so the chances are that there's something about, for example, the angle of my pelvis that causes the babies to engage backwards. If that's the case, then this one is likely to be too....and both me and my sister were also B2B so apparently this might be genetic....[worried]

Hope you managed to keep your temper this pm LaT...it does sound as though your dh is trying his best

madamefreckle · 29/05/2010 22:23

Congratulations Mampam and hello Tilly! - A very lovely name.

Wondering if you've had your little one yet Goodname. Look forward to hearing.

I'm in a foul mood and have been all afternoon as my mum is staying with us to 'help out' with ds when I'm in labour and afterwards. I don't think I'm even going to go into labour while she's here as I feel so stressed!! I'm sure that as soon as she leaves on the 8th, the baby will make a belated entrance! There is just more mess, more catering and more cleaning with her here...and if I leave her to look after ds for as little as half and hour (not that she specificaly offers to do so) then when I come back he's made the most godawful mess with paint/playdoh/food/allhistoys because she hasn't been supervising properly - my carpet is horribly stained and I am just about ready to tell her to go home.

DP is also really pissing me off. I was really hoping that he'd stop drinking completely when it was getting close to my due date... but no. It's not that he has much, but a couple of cans is still enough to make me feel that he is not putting me and the baby first. I'm probably being a bit unreasonable but it really annoys me...plus makes his breath stink even if he brushes his teeth...and I have to share a bed with him as my mum is in the spare bed where I've been sleeping for the past few months!

Rant over!

mampam · 30/05/2010 01:33

sunworshipper can't fault the care I've been given this time. It was a totally different team than the one on Tuesday and the whole atmosphere of the labour ward was totally different too. Will tell all when I'm home and not using this arm aching machine to write with.

CSWS no, Tilly not as big as anticipated but in theatre MW told us that when she weighed Tilly she was positive she was going to be at least 12lbs!!!! Will give you full story in a couple of days.

Glad everyone is ok. Madamef sounds like a hinderance not a help having your mum about. DH was drnking cider last weekend. I commented that if Iwent into labour i'd be driving myself to hospital. Comments were ignored!

MrsDmamee · 30/05/2010 13:38

mampam congrats and welcome baby Tilly.

glad all went well this time and u have a brand new baby to snuggle and no SPD pain

greensnail · 30/05/2010 16:36

Congratulations mampam and welcome to the world baby Tilly. I love the name, really pretty. Glad to hear you sounding so well, hope the good care continues and you make a speedy recovery.

Alice is still doing brilliantly and remains very contented. She'd lost about 5oz when she was weighed yesterday which was well within the normal range, but since then she's hardly stopped feeding and I can almost see her getting chubbier before my eyes .

DD1 seems to be realising that Alice is here to stay and has been quite quiet in general, but clingy with me. She also seems to have some teeth coming through that can't be helping matters. She's wanting to feed much more frequently than normal but seems to be just checking that she still can as is happy to just feed for a few seconds at a time. She was really handy to have around yesterday though when I was feeling a bit engorged as she was able to relieve the pressure to let Alice feed more easily.

Hope you got your praline souffle MrsAlwaysRight, sounds delicious.
