Congrats MDM!! Only just made it in time then!!! Lovely name!

My pains went on til 3am, then went all irregular and tailed off. Still getting the odd one but thats it. Another day...sigh....

rachelfruitloop · 13/05/2010 10:23

MDM CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Felix, love the name! So happy to hear that all is well!

MoggMum · 13/05/2010 10:24

Wow for speedy delivery MDM and massive congratulations! Hope you're recovering well and enjoying your new son

Good luck Angel & James sounds like things might be starting!

It's all getting quite exciting now!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 13/05/2010 11:02

Congratulations mdm! You've chosen lovely names, bet he's tiny!

Gils · 13/05/2010 11:52

Congrats MDM I had a similar birth with my first. Kept phoning hospital and told I had plenty of time. Ended up ignoring them and going in and DD born half hour later. Everyone paranoid I'll be same this time but I will be heading in when I feel labour has started and not being convinced I was in early stages.

Well done and love the name!!!!

myfirstbump · 13/05/2010 11:52

Congratumalations MDM! Get some sleep and enjoy him.

pigley your mum and MIL sound charming. Hope they get better! It makes me realise how lucky I've been to have minimal interference from mine. I'm sure it will kick up a notch now I've got a couple of weeks spare. Mum's already started the countdown on Facebook... Way to get everyone asking the dreaded 'no news then?'

James and Mogg I get headbutted there too, DH can't quite grasp how much it grates through me . But I'd rather that than the baby still be high up and taking it out on my ribs!

I've had a dodgy tummy for a couple of days too. After my marathon cleaning session yesterday, today I feel completely exhausted. Getting a couple of twinges down there too, but not enough to make me think anything serious is happening. I probably just overdid it.

Can't wait for more news!

AnAngelWithin · 13/05/2010 11:54

myfirstbump are you delivering at RSH?? Might see you there lol

schipo · 13/05/2010 11:55

Morning Ladies (just)

Big congratulations to MDM - must be a fantastic feeling

I wonder how itshappened is getting on? And Squirt? Sassles?

My SIL was induced suddenly yesterday but still no news there. Fingers crossed too for Wibblela and Kateyjane

Nothing happening here - I rang the local maternity advice line yesterday and, (tmi alert), they were very confident that what I experienced yesterday wasn't waters breaking, but just unusually heavy discharge. It happened within 20 minutes of me getting up after a long sleep in, so she thought gravity would have been largely responsible! I think it's a reasonable conclusion because nothing else unusual happened.

I'm feeling movements all over the place though and not sure which way the baby is up or which way he's facing. Wondering if he's trying to poke his way out of belly button sometimes. Trying not to worry about anything. Sunday is d-day.

Pigley - you must have patience of a saint with those mothers I'll be joining you and tomlin for a curry on saturday night - I have started fantasizing about a punjabi grill in Whitechapel. Then we may also get around to other sorts of diy induction techniques.

Hollyoaks - love your fb status (if i understand). I still bear the scars of a childhood in Sunderland in Thatcher's britain. Dread to think what's in store for us now.

SK - nice that jacob's hearing is good and there's plenty of milk.

Sorry can't keep up with all but looking forward to more announcements

myfirstbump · 13/05/2010 11:59

Angel I am! How exciting! We'll have to make some sort of code for on the ward to work out if it's us!

pamelat · 13/05/2010 12:01

Congrats MDM hello Felix ... Gosh all sounds hectic. Many many congrats

AnAngelWithin · 13/05/2010 12:02

oooh secret handshake rofl

OP posts:
Carikube · 13/05/2010 12:09

Congratulations MDM

Look forward to hearing some more birth announcements soon. D-day here tomorrow as well though still no signs of anything going on. Just been to playgroup and we did the Grand Old Duke of York twice as they reckon it brings on labour (happened with two other women from the group) so here's hoping

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 13/05/2010 12:29

Angel/myfirstbump, I was booked into RSH early in this pg too but changed to another hospital now. Shame really, we might all have met up if we were in around the same time!

mollybob · 13/05/2010 12:39

congrats mdm and hello felix

schipo - i ended up in hospital with what i thought might be waters going at 34 weeks and tests showed discharge and thrush - lovely

oooh carikube - not long now

fingers crossed for movement soon james

by the way things are happening - i'll be the only one left!

AnAngelWithin · 13/05/2010 12:50

oooooooooh james are you near shrewsbury then? maybe we could have a mini meetup??

OP posts:
pigleychez · 13/05/2010 13:52

MDM- Wow! Huge congrats. Sounds like a fast and speedy delivery! Love the name and hope your both doing well.

Hollyoaks- Hope DD is ok. Hows her fingers now?

Pamlet- Oh no your poor DH Hope her feels better soon.

Heffa- Glad you and Corin are doing well. The FB pics are lovely

Ali- Your poor cat

Mollybob- I too need to buy some more snacks. I bought some little choc bars but left them on the side and im afraid they have been unexplainably jumping into my mouth when i walk past! Dont worry about being the last one... ill be waiting with you

Angel- Sorry they stopped... how annoying.

firstbump- take it easy today then

Carikube- Maybe ill have to teach that to DD then

Thanks for the comments on my mum and MIL. Very frustrating. I dont think they mean to be annoying but they really dont say the right things! Decided to screen my calls now though as the daily calls from my mum are getting abit much.
Theres only so many times you can hear "why are you holding onto that baby!" or "Isnt it here yet?" Especially when your not actually even due yet.

Took DD to toddler group this morning to run off some energy and have a MW appointment this afternoon. Guessing it will be my last one as next week will be the overdue clinic.... feeling of De Ja Vu coming on

cupcakefairy · 13/05/2010 15:24

Wow MDM congratulations!! Lovely name, and I'm encouraged that you didn't go too far over your due date despite it being your first...there's hope for us all! Hope you're feeling ok and enjoying lovely cuddles

Lol, carikube that cracked me up about Grand Old Duke, we'll all be getting our DHs to sing that with us now

pigley haha, I can't believe your mum said she'd call the child by her chosen name anyway, haha can you imagine how confused they would get! My Mum hasn't called me for about 2 weeks.. I'm starting to feel a bit unloved so I guess grass is always greener!! The rest of the world is asking for news though so I should be grateful she's not adding to that annoyance!

heff great news about Corin's weight well done, you're obviously serving up gold top.

ali I ADORE ginger cats...awww, I would so take one off your hands if we were allowed a cat!

littleowls hello! Iwas wondering how little Joel was..fantastic that he is home and feeding well He must be so tiny still! Aw!

luckyC I've just realised Matilda is a month old already we are all lagging so behind!

myfirstbump arghhh to being counted down on facebook! Talk about pressure!

Well, I have been for my pedicure & bikini wax this morning & very grateful to the beautician for taming the wild lady-garden I haven't been able to see for months! I'm ready for you now baby!

Good luck to all those delivering sooon

MDM - Congratulations!! All happened so quickly! Hope your enjoyng spending time with little felix

Good luck to all those with baby arrivals imminent!

Carikube - at grand old duke!!

Pigley - sorry mums are stressing you out, everyone has an opinion haven't they? We haven't told anyone our names yet.

LO moving loads today, trying to burst through my tummy i think - he better not be trying to turn now after all that yesterday!!

SquirtsMum · 13/05/2010 16:26

MDM congratulations - fabulous name too

Nothing to report - still pregnant and no sign of LO turning up - 41+2 now and getting very bored and very fed up

Good luck to everyone with twinges/loose bowels (in the nicest sense!!)/inductions/C Sections planned etc

xxxxx

KaffaCakes · 13/05/2010 16:29

So much has happened since I last logged on!

Many congratulations to MDM- Felix is a brilliant name and sounds like it was smooth, speedy labour. Hope all is going well with you new family.

Ali- Your poor little cat! That made me laugh out lous. Though I'd be horrified if our neighbourhood big fat tom violated my delicate little cat. Luckily we had her done a couple of months ago. She came into heat and it was unbearable- the noise and rubbing!

pamelat- hope you DH is feeling a little better- well enough for baby's appearance anyways!

pigley thanks for the FB info, I've just requested to join. Your mother situation sounds like a nightmare, luckily both of mine have stayed schtum. In fact the ONLY advice my mum offered when I told her I was pregnant was "you're going to need to buy knickers". She was right, of course.

Ooh the waiting lounge list is shrinking! How exciting. Shame about the Cs, Den, but at least you have a date, this waiting game is killing me!

Today has been trying to stay busy instead of sitting about waiting for contractions to start. It could be another fornight yet! So I've been bouncing on the yoga ball, chomping on pineapple and will try and persaude DP to 'do the deed' again! James, any more luck with the nipple stimulation?!

Frantic cleaning, walking around and chillies have not worked so far. Bah.

myfirstbump · 13/05/2010 16:41

Angel/James - there are a few Shropshire mums-to-be I think. A mini meet up sounds good to me if anyone has any ideas!

Molly - I have a suspicion I'll be hanging on too! If only because I think I'll get bored waiting for the baby to arrive and it's Sod's Law. I've done nothing today and it's driven me potty! I think I'm like Pigley - I really enjoy keeping busy!

LuckyC I can't believe how quickly the last month has gone by - you have a month old Matilda already! (Thanks cupcake for pointing that out)

Kaffa - good luck with all your efforts! Let us know if any of it works.

sweetkitty · 13/05/2010 16:46

Just a quick one from me wow MDM that was quick, congratulations to you and MrMDM and welcome to Felix, I bet he is tiny (we think Jacob is tiny and he was 8lbs 5ozs)

Ali - from what I know about cats, the females go out and "call" to the males when they are in season encouraging them (don't want to call you cat a tart ) though. I have all the cats I can deal with right now sorry.

Pigley - are we related? My Mum sounds like a less toxic version of mine. She didn't like DD1's name before she was born and said she was going to call her by the full version. You should NEVER tell anyone in RL especially family the babies names before he/she is born, you will get the "looks" DD2's name she said "WHERE did you get that from?" erm the bible "Well I have never heard of it!" One good thing about not talking to her now is I don't get the "comments" every phonecall.

rachelfruitloop · 13/05/2010 17:28

Molly and MyFirst I think I may be joining you at the end as well!

Cupcake Glad you feel ready after your trip to the salon! I've given up the waxing idea as I'm afraid of the girl at the salon seeing the piles that have developed!

Heffa fantastic that the breastfeeding is going well, Corin is such a cute boy!

I've requested some of you as friends on FB who keep coming up as recommended friends, but anyone else who sees me on there, feel free to add me as well. My surname begins with A. I've added my most recent bump picture onto the FB group and also on my MN profile if anyone would like to have a gander at my 51 inch bump!!!

More later, time for sausages and mash! Yum!!!

pamelat · 13/05/2010 17:53

Had 40 week midwife appointment today, bp highest its yet been 145/95 but she not worried as no other symptoms and no protein etc. I actually suddenly feel great so don't understand bp thing

DD has been really good today, just making chocolate cakes together. DH still in bed

MW says he needs to get back to docs as anti biotics should have worked within 48 hours so could be viral? TMI but he says he has been able to squeeze lots of blood tinged ooze from the gland today??? Sorry, know thats disgusting but just a bit worried about it.

I didnt have any childcare in place for tomorrow but SIL now on standby and can be here within 45 mins so thats all good.

I have back ache and period pains but nothing more. Squirtsmum you must be really fed up, I feel for you.

Even one day overdue and I am impatient, although I keep finding last minute chores to do but each time I clean something, DD "claims" it and its very quickly dirty again. We have been going through her old baby toys today about which ones she is prepared to lend to baby brother, not very many ....
