Hi all,

Contractions all night and still going, but all irregular, getting more painful but nothing happened as yet , very tired, but just thinking will be soon rather than later already my 5th day overdue , hope everyone gets better

Hollyoaks · 04/05/2010 17:21

Hi all

Thanks for the supportive messages, gp said he thought it was muscular as it was a constant pain and I didn't seem to affected by it this morning. I tried to explain that by lunchtime I'm in agony and now, even after a hot bath, I could still cry with pain. Anyway, I've had blood taken to check my liver function and then I can discuss the results with the mw tomorrow. He also mentioned that itching is another sign of gall bladder problems, I haven't had any but then neither did my dsis. Why do you never feel like you've been thoroughly reassured and taken seriously by the gp?

Mustbe - sorry, I did mean to say this morning that it must be hard not having your mum round, but hope you've sought some comfort in the psychics that you've seen and the dreams you've had.

SK - how exciting.

Pigley - congratulations for your dsis.

Good luck to all those potentially in labour.

pigleychez · 04/05/2010 18:07

ML- Happy due date

Hope Five is doing well and if not already, will have her bubba soon

Newmomma- How annoying that baby has turned again. Obviously doesnt like being on its head!

First1- Not really sure what to advise and the CPD. Only you can decide what you would prefer to do and at least you know about it in advance. Im sure they would be able to fit you in and if not 40 weeks would still be ok I imagine- Not as if baby is going anywhere

Angel- Ohhh thats an intriguing thing to say. My MW said something similiar a few weeks ago but im still here

SK- Glad things are all organised and relaxed. You will return home with your little boy Looking forward to the announcement

Den- Glad bump stayed put during the wedding. I panicked at every twinge and would just think "please not now!"

Hollyoaks- Hope the test results come back ok... Thats quick as ours take ages to return!

Had a busy day here. Went to Toddler group this morning. Lots of comments on how low bump seems now and plenty of "not long now"- Hope so anyway!
Then dart home for a quick lunch and get DD for a little nap before her swimming lesson.
That was the last lesson till im ready to return. Sad for DD as she loves her weekly lessons but I really cant manage it much more and my costume is stretched to its limits!
Soo tired now though. No rest though as DH is playing badminton tonight so late home.

Bit scary to hear about all those with false alarms, scares etc. Makes it all seem so real now doesnt it. May seems to be flying by so babies will be coming thick and fast now. Can really see me going over again though.

memorylapse · 04/05/2010 18:08

Hollyoaks..if you are still worried..take yourself off to labour ward or day assesment

first1..is your worry that you might go into labour before you have your c section? if so dont panic..if that did happen they would section you when you arrived at hospital and you would be advised to make your way there straight away..Im interested in the fact that they think you have pelvic disproportion as its not unusual for babies not to engage until labour actually starts..

sweetkitty · 04/05/2010 18:51

TomlinTowers · 04/05/2010 21:47

SK - good luck tonight/tomorrow! Fingers crossed for you all!

First1 - no advice on CPD, sorry, but at least you get a chance to think about your options. at the poor woman who was left pushing for 5 hours!!

Thinking of alle and Five - hope something is happening and will be logging on tomorrow to check on birth announcements!

Newmomma - if the LO can flip up presumably it can flip down - fingers crossed!!

Hollyoaks - fingers crossed for your MW appt tomorrow and hope you get the all clear.

Itshappened - hope the exam went well, now you can relax!

pigley - you have done amazingly well keeping up swimming til 39 weeks - my swimming costume gave up at about 33 weeks!!

Nothing to report here - lots of BHs and waddling like a duck cos baby is so low, but no movements. Will see what tomorrow brings....

pigleychez · 04/05/2010 21:53

Ditto Hope that we get some more announcements very soon

Typically dont think mine will be on here for quite a while though.

DH has set up an exclusion zone around me tonight. I feel unexplainably moody and snappy. No idea why, just very fed up and tetchy.
Think I may have an early night and hope i wale in a better mood

memorylapse · 04/05/2010 22:47

will be excitedly checking in next time Im feeding..looking for updates

in case anymore is interested..Ive put a pic of my freaky placenta on the fb group..warning..not for the sqeamish

kateyjane · 04/05/2010 23:34

It doesn't seem to matter how well intentioned I am, I just can't keep up! I am so impressed with all of you who write such fantastic posts - I am sorry that mine are not so good.

SK - Thinking about you, hope all goes well. Can't wait to hear your birth announcement.

alle/five/alex - Hope you are all doing well and that things are happening for you.

Newmomma - Sorry that your baby has turned again Hope things work out for you.

Itshappened - Hope your exam went really well!

Pigley - Hope you feel happier tomorrow

ML - Glad everything is going well with Olivia. Hope you are starting to feel better.

Forces - Hope Molly is okay. I was on B12 injections for 2 years, then my GP trialed the tablet version of B12 and my levels have remained the same (and it is far more pleasant ) Hope you are okay.

Lucky C - Sorry Matilda has been poorly. Hope you are both okay now and managing to settle into life at home together.

Littleowls - Hope Joel is doing well.

Hollyoaks - Hope your test results come back clear. I had my gallbladder removed at 17 and still remember it as the worst pain I've ever experienced (despite having had 3 dcs) so I really hope it turns out to be something easy to resolve. I am amazed that you are still managing to teach. I am due on 30/5, but haven't been into school since Feb half term - seems like a different world now. Really hope you are feeling better very soon.

BRB - at the cute noises and wriggles your lo is making. Can't wait to join you.

Sorry for missing people out - but I am really thinking about you all.

Despite good advice to the contrary I ordered lots of bumgenious reusable nappies (cos of 20% off in real nappy week) They arrived today and are so cute. I can't wait to use them and am determined to make them work for us

I am 36+2 now and keep thinking things are happening, have lost a bit of the plug, plus have really bad backache and have been sick, but don't think it's anything really. I am back to the consultant on Friday for a stretch and sweep and to confirm my induction date, which should be Monday 10/5, as they won't let me go over 37 weeks due to the OC. I am so glad in one sense, because I have always been very overdue with my other 3 and the thought of even waiting till due date 30/5 is too much.

Can't wait to check the thread tomorrow for news. Hope everyone has a comfortable nights sleep. Take care

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 05/05/2010 07:27

Hope everything's going well SK, have been thinking of you

Kateyjane - hope something happens for you soon . Must be good to know you haven't got long either way.

Hollyoaks - hope everything is OK with you and your blood test results come back clear.

Newmomma and First1 - good luck with the turning and CPD, I hope things work out and you 're able to make a decision you're happy with.

Hollyoaks · 05/05/2010 08:18

Morning all

Thanks again for the supportive messages. I spoke to the deputy head last night and she told me to take today off which is a huge relief. So an extra day off to get caught up on work plus try to relax with dd has calmed me down. I managed to get some sleep last night too which has really helped. Will update you all when I get my results this afternoon.

SK - good luck for today, I bet you have made an announcement by lunchtime

Pigley - I think the blood tests were ordered to come back asap, they usually take 3-4 days. Well done on continuing with dd's swimming lessons for so long, I've take dd to dance class on a Saturday when dh is often working and it's a killer.

Newmomma - hope lo turns back for you

First1 - no experience of CPD so don't know how to advice you, if you have any questions please come back and ask though as I'm sure someone on here will be able to help.

KateyJane - only just teaching at the minute, glad I managed to get today off, I have six lessons and by 3:10pm I'm ready to drop. No wonder lo has already engaged I must walk miles around the classroom and to the bathroom and back when I'm in work.

Itshappened - you've gone very quiet, hope the exam went well, expecting a birth announcement when you come back.

Hope we all have a good day and a few more babies to add to our arrival list.

Carikube · 05/05/2010 09:14

Kateyjane - I received a load of bumgenius Flip wraps last week as I needed some new ones for DD and I love them. I think I'm starting to join that band of people who actually get excited about reusable nappies

I think LO has hunkered down again for the long haul as although I have occasional twinges, I'm not in as much pain as at the weekend so like Pigley I could still be going for some time! I'm even feeling spritely enough to take DD swimming this morning (each week I swear it will be the last time!) though I will no doubt be regretting it afterwards.

DH is out in London tonight so it would be a really bad time for me to go in to labour as he will no doubt have a few beers and will also be a good couple of hours away from home so let's just hope that nothing happens!

Good luck to everyone who needs it today - can't believe it's May 5th and we haven't actually had any May babies yet, though I'm sure that will change today

cupcakefairy · 05/05/2010 09:54

Carikube I wa just about to say the same thing - no May babies yet!! Though of course people might come back and announce them later on so there may have been a few over the last couple of days

SK hope everything went well, looking forward to hearing the news!!

pigley I am majorly stroppy at the mo too! Dh keeps giving me this ook when I fly off the handle about stupidly small stuff

No twinges here still but lots of backache... 2 weeks to goooo!

SquirtsMum · 05/05/2010 10:42

I am offically over due

No sign of Squirt, all pains/aches/mucus/sickie feelings have gone... feel bloody fantastic!!!

xxxx

30ish · 05/05/2010 10:46

Five, Alex, Alle and SK - hope everything is going well and we have some happy news soon! So exciting that our babies are going to be here soon!

I've had my last mw appointment this morning - everythings fine and she predicted that the baby will be a good 8lbs which sounds quite big for me!

I'm all set for my section on Tuesday although I am terrified as I am quite squemish about blood!!! I was wondering whether or not to pack my make up. When I had DD, MIL came to see us whilst we were still on delivery (after labouring for days, emcs, heamorraging, still on 10 min obs ad with cathtar etc etc) and told me that I should at least have had a shower, sorted my hair and applied some lipstick!!!!! I have asked DH to keep her away from the hospital as long as possible this time. The visiting rules have changed a lot since last time I was there - DH is allowed to visit between 11am and 8pm. Other visitors between 3 and 4pm and then 6.30pm until 8pm. We are only allowed 3 visitors at any one time and I only want to see DD, DH and my parents (as they will be helping to car for DD) at first. How will you manage visiting times and your other dc?
