hey ladies, just spent the evening at the hospital. Lo had been less active today, i wanted to wait and see how i got on but dp made me phone. Anyway as usual as soon as i was strapped to the monitor she went mad. Then the mw said it looked like i was contracting, i was getting some pain more tightenings than pains. They decided to get the doc to see me. I was on the machine for over an hour and was contracting regularly. The doc came and checked me she thinks the pain is to do with the spd but she gave me an internal and i'm not dilated. So i have to take it easy and see the doc and physio. I felt like a plum but the doc says to get checked if your worried. Roll on next wednesday for physio. Soz big long post, i am totally shattered. Nite x

stac glad your LO is ok, get lots of rest if you can
At least your DP makes you phone, if my LO is quiet and I tell DP he just says "Im sure everything is fine" and seems completely unconcerned

I keep getting odd pains in my lower abdomen, I keep putting it down to LO squirming around and pushing on things. I get BH every now and then but not so many that its worrying but think I will mention it to mw when I next see her.

Im seeing my mum later, was going to go and make use of her garden but its forecast to be cloudy which is typical cos it was really sunny all day yesterday.

DP is working in London today so will be late home so its going to be a looong day, was going to see my friend but I think I might have to cancel unless she can come here, DP gets paid tomorrow and to see her its a 25 min drive and I have to pay for parking and I have no money and no petrol.

Good morning I am getting a lucky break today as DH is doing school drop off. I gently reminded him he promised me he will do it once a month to give me a little break. And he did it once in May and now today.
It's amazing how good DD was with getting dressed and ready! It takes me till 8am from around 7am to get her to eat her breakfast, dress, do her hair etc... As "the socks are not good'', or she does not want to go to school etc... Today by 7am she was all ready and cheerful.
It's nice to have a morning together and not have to go anywhere until later.

Yesterday I met an old friend for lunch and went shopping. Just locally, but I have to say I always get what I need here, rather then going central. We have some great local small retailers. Anyway I got a few non maternity tops and a long stretchy dress. It will all fit after the pregnancy too and the dress is good for breastfeeding too. I also got LO a lovely Flensted Moomins mobile that I had my eye on for a while SO I am very pleased! The lunch went on from one and then my friend ended up coming for dinner after we picked up DD. It was around 7pm that I said sorry but we are going to be bathing DD and settling to bed It's lovely to see friends, but the ones who don't get that we pregnant ladies have a short attention spam and get tired after a couple of hours are difficult.

Sorry for long post! Hope you all feel well and have a lovely day!

stac14 · 20/05/2010 09:15

Thanks mlic, i was laughing at how cute your ds and chulitas dd are with their talking. I love that stage, its when they become their own personality

dh i knew lo would be fine but dp was determined i should be seen. He's the panicker in our relationship. I am going to have a duvet day well until its time for the shops. Its cloudy here to but still warm maybe if its warm at your mums you could still sit in the garden with a magazine. Know what you mean bout being skint, dps wages were short so we had to tighten our belts its a pain lol

Hows everyone today? X

stac it is better to be safe than sorry, everytime i go in i always say sorry to be a pain, and they always tell me not to be silly!
jojo sounds like you had a lovely but long day, i was worrying last week about when LO is here i hope people dont think they can stay all day 'helping' im hoping they will be here for a quick cuppa and coo over baby then leave us to rest up a bit!
dh hope the day doesnt drag too much for you, i sit here pining for dh to come home some days luckily since ive been ill his bosses have been good and havent wanted him to do a stop over.
ive got 3 birthdays in next week and i dont know how or what to get them all as gifts, was thinking flowers delivered as i cant get out but times it by 3 and cheapest bunches is still over £75!!

kkfairybrains · 20/05/2010 11:07

aw stac hope your feeling better today.rest up and take advantage of being able to rest! your dp was right to make you ring cos its always better to air on the side of caution no matter how silly we may feel! and as the doctor said to me that time its can sometimes be the monitor thingy that gets them moving cos it stimulates them.
dh my dp was saying the same the day i went in to be monitored but he told me after it was cos he didnt want me to worry and he was scared of going in to the hospital and being told something bad and he was nervous as anythin going in.so maybe your dp is the same? we had mc last year and think its stuck with him more than he lets on by trying to be the strong one.
these stories of the dd's talking is making me so excited! really cant wait for all that!
is there anyone who could pick up some presents for you memphis? £75 seems like a lot of money to spend on flowers.even if someone could pick you up vouchers im sure people would understand with you not being able to get out

viksam · 20/05/2010 11:30

Hello Ladies,
I havent posted for AGES but I have been trying to keep up with everyone.
stac hope ur feeling ok today and LO is thrashing around nicley.
jojo i know what you mean, its lovely for people to come just wish they knew when to go again. Its difficult here because family and friends live over 150 miles away so do stay over, its quite tiring. I had my sister here over the weekend, which was lovely but was truly knackered when she went. Then yesterday on my day off me and DH took the car to be serviced in salisbury so had no choice but to bum around salisbury for 5 hours. It was really nice to spend some time with DH and I got some lovely things for the babies room and a microwave steralizer from mothercare thats moving so it was only 14.99 also a big ball from TK Maxx for £20. I was so tired when we got back that its all still in the car!!
Im supposed to be at work today but I feel really really tired so decided to ring in sick, probably the second time in the last 5 years. I feel a bit dissapointed in myself but i know i must start listening to my body and do what its telling me, i dont want to put LO at risk in any way now so i think its time to start taking it easy.
The conservatory is up and the walls are plastered so it smells a bit farty in the house while the plaster is going off but im dead glad its done. Lots of finishing touches to do though and we have to wait 4 weeks for it all to dry out untill we can put any flooring down so no manic rush i dont suppose. The babies room is being decorated next weekend then the following friday the new carpet will be put down and the cot is being delivered, the week after that im having the livingroom carpet and sofa cleaned, thats the last job, booked in on my birthday, i cant think of a better birthday present to myself that having something cleaned, i think im slightly OCD!!!! I have really enjoyed co-ordinating all the works and its nicley taken my mind off other things which im gratefull for.
I hope everyone is well and happy, im going to be disciplined and make sure i take it easy today, i will defo end up doing some sort of cleaning/washing etc though im sure!!

viksam · 20/05/2010 11:33

I have just re read my post, so sorry, its really self indulgent, is it obvious i dont have many people to talk to?? Sorry, it just seems like there is a lot going on at the moment!!

Jojobil · 20/05/2010 11:50

I really enjoyed your post viksam
It's lovely you getting everything done. I just have a cleaner once a week now. Could not cope with both floors and was stressing out to much. I am OCD too, but force myself to leave most for when the cleaner comes and it makes such a difference!

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/05/2010 11:52

kk yeah maybe your right about my DP. He knows how much I worry about things though so is prob just trying to make me feel better. He is good at hiding his true feelings which isnt always helpful.

stac yeah Im going to get a mag on the way to mums and sit and read that, shes got a conservatory so if its too cold outside Ill sit in there.

memphis83 · 20/05/2010 12:06

kk good idea on the vouchers one is my sister and other is a friend so i will get mum to get boots vouchers for them, but other is my step mum so dont think i should ask mum for that one, maybe i will find something on the net today for her!!!
viksam im agreeing with jojo on enjoying your post its nice to read, it sounds like your house is in overhaul mode, it sounds like extreme nesting!!
jojo thats a good idea with a cleaner, ive been stressing about dh having to do it all, but maybe a cleaner just to change beds, clean toilets and floors would be the answer, cant believe i never thought of it!!!

viksam · 20/05/2010 12:10

Thanks Jojo some things are worth spending the money on if it gives you peace of mind.
DH I know what you mean about DP hiding his true feelings, i wish mine was easier to read. They do keep it all in and can seem quite emotionless at times, i find that quite hard to deal with a lot of the time. As KK said, i do think they take things on board much much more than we give them credit for, just dont think they know how to handle it. DH admitted yesterday that he is still very upset about his Dad and still hasnt really got over the whole horrible time we had a few months back, dont really know how to help him, not sure I can really, supose he has to come to terms with it in his own way.

kapars · 20/05/2010 12:12

Hi ladies,
Haven't posted for a while too.
Definitely better to be safe than sorry stac.
I had my last day having to go into the office yesterday as I work mostly from home and will only work from home for the next few weeks.
But I was sent home early anyway as I had sharp stabbing pains in my back like I was being stabbed in the shoulder blade. I went to see my chiropractor and he said a rib had popped out so he cracked me back in...yikes that was scary.
Still very tender today so am having duvet day also, but have my laptop in bed so I can work from here.
viksam I agree we all need to be taking it easier now. I have been doing too much because my dh is never here because of his crazy working hours. I think I have been carrying bags that are too heavy and twisting too quickly and have to be more careful with this huge belly I have to carry around.
jojo we started with a cleaner a month ago also - an absolute life saver.
We have our NCT class this Saturday so am really looking forward to that.
Hoping this will make dh a bit more focused on pregnancy.
I've been fairly relaxed so far but last few days gone into mad panic mode thinking we don't have anything ready and that i'm not ready yet. Has anyone else started feeling like that? I think it is with time drawing close. I am 33 weeks tomorrow!

viksam · 20/05/2010 12:18

memphis we cross posted. Thanks, extreme nesting lol!! never thought of it like that!
In ur circumstances i think its a great idea to get some help if you can. It would take a lot of the burden off you. I feel guilty for having people in to do jobs that we should/could do ourselves and I know other people frown on it (judgemental parents-no matter how far away I live from them I can still feel their judgement cast down on me!!)but under the circumstances and given our time frames its the end result that matters this time, bugger how you get there.
Goodness I have a lot to say for myself today dont i. Note to self, dont save mumsnetting up so it all floods out in one day!

stac14 · 20/05/2010 12:21

thanks ladies for your support i did feel silly but your right. Shes fine and thats what matters. Dp recorded her heartbeat on his phone, silly bugger.

viksam i agree with jojo your post was lovely to read as your getting all organised. Must say i'm a bit jealous but dp is taking time off so we can get ours done too yay lol

kk i am trying to be good and lazy but i have washing and stuff to do so no doubt i will do something. How you and dp?

dh you enjoy your relaxing day, as i said i'm trying lol

memphis is that £75 per bunch? Omg thats far to expensive (or i'm a miserable cow lol) kks right could you not get dh to pick up stuff for you? Or anyone else? You'd be cheaper in postage for sending a gift or buy stuff online to be delivered to thier address?

jojo i agree bout friends, we got together on saturday night and one didnt leave till 3.30am i could have cried lol. Thankfully my baby shower is in someone elses house so i can go home when i'm knackered lol x

Kapars I am having to be uber patient untill all the work in the house is finished so i can get everything ready but inside im feeling quite agitated and absolutly dying to get things sorted. I want to start to prep my hospital bag and wash the baby clothes and get everything in its place so i can figure out what I dont have, but i HAVE to wait and its driving me mad. Ur rib thing sounds horrid, what do u mean popped out, did it hurt to put it back in? Have you had it before? Sounds like u defo need to lay off the heavy bags etc.

memphis83 · 20/05/2010 12:28

kapers a rib popped out!!! ouch i bet it felt good when he popped it back in! my sports physio used to crack my back i used to love it!!!
stac dont worry thats for 3 bunches £25 each but for what you get its a lot of money, i sent step mum a £25 bunch last year and was really disappointed it looked like a £5 bunch from tesco!
talking of tesco its been a good month now and they still havent had the essentials box in stock!!!

kapars · 20/05/2010 12:37

viksam I've had spd through this pregnancy which is why I see the chiropractor. This rib thing was different as the pain was in the shoulder blade in the upper back rather than in hips and lower back.
I was in real agony so I rang my chiro to see if he could do anything. When he saw it from the back he said it had popped out. NOw I'm not 100% sure what he meant myself but I think because of the extra weight and all the relaxin hormones kicking im, it is mucH easier to pull muscles and pull bits of our body and I think my rib had become a bit misalligned probably when I started to put the cot together or when I was violently pumping up my excercise ball!
He had to crack me back in which didn't hurt but was a shock as I've never had that done before - he usually just presses quite hard.
But because I've been seeing him a couple of months I really trust him.

We got our cleaner a month ago after i"d been having all these pains - my dh works 10 to 12 hour days sometimes seven days a week and he cannot do it.
There is no going back now though - she is fantastic!!

I agree that it is the time now to start feeling agitated if things aren't done. I had pram rage at John Lewis a few days ago becaue they have been so crap with my pram order. I shouted at three different people on the phone.

viksam · 20/05/2010 13:01

Violently pumping ur excercise ball....lol! I need to do that but really cant be bothered to go get it from the boot of the car, lazy arse!!
At least you had someone who u trusted and who could see u straight away, i bet it felt immediatly better.
I pulled a muscle in my neck a while ago and it took ages to heal, i think ur right about it being easier to damage ourselves atm. John Lewis are usually very good, whats gone wrong with ur order?
Stac sweeeeet that DP recorded LO heart beat, very reassuring to be able to hear that all is well. Glad ur DP is having time off so u can get sorted, do you have much to do? I just realy hope and pray that LO doesnt come early, that would be a disaster as im in charge of it all, DH is just a simple bystander!! I think in business he would be called a sleeping partener, someone who puts money in but doesnt get a say in what happenes!! hehe!

Jojobil · 20/05/2010 13:05

stac 3.30am! That's shocking. I want people out by 7pm, or best just to meet for an hours-up to 2 hours lunch... I don't know how you did it.

stac14 · 20/05/2010 13:49

i know jojo havent caught up with them for ages but think i'l go to them next time, learnt my lesson lol

viksam it feels like thousands lol. My kitchen and bedroom need decorating, ds's room needs a complete clear out, all carpets cleaned, skirting, cupboards etc cleaned, babys stuff washed and sorted. Omg theres more but didnt want to bore you with it all lol

Thats why i thought it was £75 per bunch lol memphis thats good your getting vouchers and stuff. I use a catalogue called the brilliant gift shop that does things for birthdays etc you can access it online.

kapars ouch on the rib thing hope your having a lazy day x

viksam · 20/05/2010 15:04

stac U have made me feel a lot better, I feel very behind and wish it was a few months ago. By the time we had got over DH's Dad and got our heads around our own issues it was just a bit later on than it needed to be really.
I am sooo enjoying my quiet day, im sat here watching my belly ripple and move loads, im starting to really love where we are at, hope i can stay this positive! I have just stuffed loads of eggy bread, its such feel good food, might go get some choc now, what a naughty day!!

stac14 · 20/05/2010 16:08
