my sons birthday is 16th. he will be 11!!!!

Azure · 07/08/2005 11:16

Beachyhead LOL at too many children. Too late now! I hope your high BP etc stabilises - given how worried you were at having a premature delivery you're doing really well. Josey, I have also had a pain really low down when waking up - it's so difficult trying to get out of bed. I'm also finding that after I've been to the loo in the night it's taking me at least an hour to get back to sleep again, which is really frustrating given how tired I am. My pelvic floor is not coping too well under the strain either - partly my own fault as I'm so bad at doing the exercises. The baby hasn't moved about much the last few days - occasional little movements to stop me from panicking but not the big movements of before. I know he hasn't got as much space to move now, but I feel a lot happier after he's had a bit of a jig.

josey · 07/08/2005 12:39

nice to hear from you beachyhead - how many children will you have?? surely even 1 can seem too many sometimes

Azure nice to know im not the only one, and yes bump is not moving anywhere near as much as before but then like you say less room plus if head is in place i dont think id want to move very much either!!

Im having a lovely weekend, DS is away with my mum for his holidays its bliss im going to make the most of the next week feet up!!!

Hi everyone glad we are all doing fairly well still.

I think this one is going to be stopping in for a while so I think I will be with you to colinsmommy (Im due on the 16th).

I have to say this is my third pregnancy and I have never been so fed up in all my life, I am in a constant bad mood and continually hoping that every twinge could be the begining of labour. DS and DD are fed up with my moaning, ds seems to get the brunt of most of my hissy fits poor thing! Well thats my moan over!

We are getting closer on the name front so this is positive only thing is dh let his sister go through the name book which was a bad idea she didnt like any of our chosen names and has this constant nag about the 'family name' and hints that we should be calling our son this! We havent changed our minds though. Ds wants to call him run run I have no idea why!!

Well im off to enjoy the sunshine!!

Miaou · 07/08/2005 19:29

Hello everyone, just popping in to wish you all the best. I have got the hang of breastfeeding and lurking, but not breastfeeding and typing so I am still around and keeping up with the news even though I don't appear to be! Hopefully you will all be joining me soon on the postnatal thread. I can really sympathise with those of you who are fed up of being pregnant - all the best for the next few days and weeks

leahbump · 07/08/2005 19:41

Hi all,

Well and truly fed up now

Been having 2 or 3 contractions an hour evry evening since thursday...all starting at around 3-4pm and waking me in the night (been trying to sleep as they seema little inconsistent). I get this awful sensation during each one like I can't breath but they are really not that painful yet...(just had another one...10-15 mins apart tonight!) the mw thinks they are just bhicks.......doing RL tea, tried pineapple, curry....sex out of the question as baby is 1-2/5th engaged (yippee that's better than 3/5ths last time!) and spd a nightmare!!

HELPPPPP!! Can't cope, feeling teary and emotion and panniking a lot now (mainly becasue of the sensation of not being able to breath properly) in fact thinking about requesting induction....mw ringing on wed (my due date) to book a sweep for 41 weeks but I really don't wnat to wait till 42 fopr induction as if i keep on the way the last 4 days have been I am gonna get pnd again!!

(sorry rant over!)

Hope others are surviving better than me!!

mumtosomeone · 08/08/2005 06:35

thought I had just posted on here but it has gone!!
Just wanted to wish you all good luck!!!
How many children does beechyhead have?

MissChief · 08/08/2005 10:45

oh leahbump- I feel for you and am with you in the fed up stakes! like you been getting strong BH fairly regularly for past few days (i'm already overdue and am threated with having a stretch and sweep tomorrow and having to book induction date in...). all I can say is try and rest and keep busy and trust in nature to do its business...I know that's easy to say and I'm finding it difficult to believe this too! crossed fingers for us both to have babes out soon!

leahbump · 08/08/2005 10:52

thanks misschief!

last night they got to every 8 minutes for about an hour then slowed down again!! Good news is that they have started up again this morning...not regular yet but am feeling more hopeful!

surely we are due a birth announcement from someone????

Em32 · 08/08/2005 16:40

Hello Hope everyone else is feeling ok. I'm 38 weeks on Thursday and feeling sick all the time. Have a feeling I'm having contractions on and off as well but am praying nothing happens tonight as DH has had to fly to Iraq (back tomorrow) and I have no-one to help with my nearly 18 month old if I go into labour (gulp) Nature will hopefully give me a helping hand and put the brakes on.......

colinsmommy · 08/08/2005 16:49

Josey-I'm having the same lower stomach pains and my baby's moving a lot less, too. You've made me feel better.

Em-Sorry about your husband being in Iraq. My DH isn't as far away, but he's gone, too, and I'm not happy about it, so hopefully baby won't come until after Thursday. (Although I doubt it will) I have to deal with my very upset almost 2 year old who keeps asking Where's daddy and does a run-through of the entire house yelling for him every morning.

Em32 · 08/08/2005 16:53

Awwww my ds is very clingy with his dad as well at the moment as we've just moved house and since I can't do anything he's been doing all the jobs and hasn't been able to play with him. Plus he's been working a lot of nights to get them out of the way before no2 comes along. Poor little thing when he sees him he just clings on and won't let go

josey · 08/08/2005 17:28

colinsmommy how far away is you DH? mine is away as well will only be home at the weekends now till baby is born he is only a 2 to 3 hour drive away depending on the time of day, I would do anything to go this week while DS is on holiday with my mum so i dont have to worry about getting my MIL to look after him chance would be a fine thing.
EM32 hope you mange to hold things off till DH gets home fingers crossed its just worry contractions just now.

Josey, he's about a 3 hour plane ride and 1/2 hr. drive away, I'm afraid. Plus, we don't have a cell phone (have never needed one) and he's in a conference of about 6,000 people, so he is split up among one of 5 large groups and would be difficult to track down anyway. My labor with Colin was just slightly over 3 hours, so he wouldn't make it anyway, I don't think. Fortunately I'm not due till the end of the month. I have a dr. appointment tomorrow, and will see how I look then. I'm lucky that he'll be home Thursday afternoon, and then he only works about 2 minutes away, and the hospital's about 5 minutes from the house.

Miaou · 08/08/2005 18:30

fingers crossed for you colinsmommy that nothing happens before Thursday

josey · 08/08/2005 19:25

colinsmommy me and you sound as though we are in very similar situations, although i can get hold of my DH most of the time, i had a 3 and half hour labour with DS, so i dont know if DH will make the drive, im also about 30-40mins away from the hospital so would likely have to get ambulance there, which im a bit worried about my neighbours are noisy enough as it is. I will hope everything is fine until Thursday and good luck with your Doc appointment

Hope something happens soon leahbump.

Things going well here - ds2 is a star baby - feeding really well and hardly needing any winding.

Also I feel great - I threw away all those leaflets about not vacuuming or driving after 4-6 weeks. I had the Hoover out on day 4 and was back behind the wheel after 8 days! I am obviously not being foolhardy about it but feel so fine and the wound has healed up nicely with very little discomfort, just achey sometimes at the end of the day.

Hope to see some more births soon.

suzi2 · 09/08/2005 14:11

I've not been a member of the August club long and more of a lurker than a poster but thought you may all like to know...

Logan Andrew appeared on Sat morning (his due date!) weighing in at 7lb 15oz. I had been having BHs every 5 mins for 2 days before and didn't even know I was in labour. My midwife told me that day that I was a long way (weeks!) off... Was 6cm when I got to hospital - only went there in the hope they could stop the BHs for me...! A fairly straightforward labour (to start with at least) and no stitches. So if you're a first timer like me, try not to be scared. It feels bad at the time but it really isn't that bad and you will survive it...

We both came home the next day and things seem to be going well. Much like Miaou - can't type and feed so will probably be lurking some more...

Good luck to all those still waiting. I think I tried everything to get me into labour - but the day the endless BHs kicked off, I had been burning Clary Sage and Jasmine oils... not sure if there's anything in it!

Sus, x

josey · 09/08/2005 16:29

congrats suzi2 glad you had an easy time of it all.

Nice to hear you are doing so well Eulilia you should check about the driving cause im sure you arnt actually insured with some companies after having a section till your six week check

I had a bit of a show last night and had realy crampy tummy pains all night resorted to hot water bottle to get some rest.

Just going to start on the raspberry leaf tea to see if things will progress

Im still waiting- no show, no BH, due 17th...

fatbirdtoo · 09/08/2005 19:08

Hi all,i'm back at last!
Our darling son Ethan finally made his appearance on the third day of my induction!!! He was born on the 4th at 16.42 and weighed 8lb 14ozs. We are both well and at home now.feel elated and knackered all at the same time! Ethan has been meeting his public constantly which is both lovely and exhausting!
Good luck to all waiting- your turn is coming to hold your little bundles, I promise you it is sooo worth the wait!!!!!!!

kizzy212 · 09/08/2005 19:20

congratulations fatbirdtoo and to your family!

kate100 · 09/08/2005 20:03

Congratulations fatbirdtoo!! what a lovely name.

Good luck to all those with niggles and pain, I hope that they progress into something productive, that is ..... a baby!!!

Dazie · 09/08/2005 20:30

I cant believe it more babies congratulations to you all!! How many girls and how many boys do we have so far??

I had a midwife appointment today she said that his head wasnt engaged (boo who) and she even said as I went into labour early and they stopped it that I might go over!!!!! Next tuesday I will be 40 weeks and I will be demanding a sweep or induction I do not think I can cope a moment longer!

I was also told that when I went into hospital they took my blood for iron levels and found they were borderline but didnt bother to do anything about it. So today I was given the dreaded constipation tablets Pregaday and another blood test just to check the levels, this would explain why I have been so exhausted for the past 4 weeks!

Well the count down is now on Dh thinks it will be this week so do my parents Im hoping so fingers crossed dd arrived 9 days early so you never know.

Good luck josey hope all is going well and that you will be meeting your little one soon!!!

josey · 09/08/2005 21:50
