Good news on the scans Cokie and Regina!!

Pony, this friend of mine who tipped me off on the G&A said people she knows who reported G&A made them feel sick & disorientated had not tried class As so found the sensation of being off their heads frightening... whereas she loved it, took her right back to our days of experimenting with GHB!

Confession: I actually tried a balloon of laughing gas at a festival 2 years ago and it was awesome. They sell it at dance festivals and some clubs. The sensation is a bit like poppers, without the brain damage. I felt very warm and fuzzy and time froze - the moment stood still - and I felt all detached from my body and giggly.

My garden is RIDDLED with slugs but we only use beer traps, copper rings and plastic barriers because we are organic, innit.

CurlyCasper · 26/04/2010 15:52

Now "working from home" (in the garden, under parasol if you must know) so I can catch up on today's scan-tastic posts.

boxfresh Glad your 20-weeker went well - and another PESH boy for my little tart to flirt with . Excellent news. Loving the imagery of the airgun. I'd love to get chickens/ducks but fear either the foxes or Mutley would get them. Most likely Mutley seeing as she is out here "chasing" the pigeons etc that fly over head

reginald , skates and cokie hurray for wriggly, healthy babies! All feeling a bit more real now I expect?

I am tres excited at prospect of another look at my wee girl on Thursday

at rat poison pony! skates I'm not sure SFF would sacrifice his beer... Anyhoo, the treatment carrots recommends is organic I believe.

Yay for reggie and okie! It?s amazing to see them moving about in there isn?t it!!!

reginaMonologue · 26/04/2010 16:11

cos it really is! I've been staring at the scan pics all afternoon... what a relief to know everything is OK...

boxy yes, she's lovely that there bearded lady :-) made me very comfortable and explained everything as she did it and pointed all the important bits out! She even tried to do a 3D preview but miniMono wasn't quite at the right angle... we got one half decent 3d image, but it looked like someone had inadvertently implanted some seafood in there rather than a baby!

SkaterGrrrrl · 26/04/2010 16:16

At my scan on Sat she asked if we wanted to know the sex and we both shouted NO in a sort of panic.

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 26/04/2010 16:33

Hurrah for scans okie and reggie, box skate! Fab isn't it!

cas use nemaslug a week before planting as it takes 3-4 days to KILLEMALL.

skater nemaslug is a kind of critter what likes to kill slugs. Nematodes they call them, and that's a technical term. Basically, and this is a bit horrid, they eat a bit of them, lay their offspring in them and they hatch out and continue the cycle and in the process it kills the slug (and makes it feel in ill in the process, so it stops eating). I spent months looking at this before taking the plunge as I don't do non-organic, nor do I do introducing critters which shouldn't be there, but my very extensive research showed that in fact they're there all the time, this is just concentrating them a bit, and they naturally die back as the slug population goes down, so you need to re-do it every 6-8 weeks or so.

I recommend using them with the normal beer traps, copper etc, but this is the only way to clear under the soil.

I'm not really happy with it as I detest the idea of killing things, but I figure that overall, importing (even UK) veggies will kill more critters than growing my own, with the carbon footie, petroleum use and what-not.

Speaking of petroleum (in a roundabout way), LC has been given a collection of gen-U-yne fossils including a 55 MILLION year old shark tooth. Imagine how cool THAT is to a 5 year old. Until he broke it. 5 MILLION YEARS it's been intact and perfect. One Day in the hands of a 5 year old. ONE DAY. .

skihorse · 26/04/2010 16:35

Congratulations reggie/okie/skater - all wonderful news!! Especially for reggie and okie because it's the most frightening scan (I think!).

skater I've had G&A too - in hospital years ago for a change of dressing. I wouldn't say it completely relieves the pain - but you don't give a shite either way. Away wi' da fairies and all that shit!

okie/reggie can we expect scan photos on your fb pages?

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 26/04/2010 16:35

box why not load it and have pigeon for tea? .

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 26/04/2010 16:39

Well I HATED G&A. But then, I was never keen on the "alternatives" that "may have come my way" sometime "way back when". I don't even like getting drunk. I was the saddo who went to the Uni parties and rolled joints for everyone coz I didn't want to smoke them myself! Then to make matters worse I was studying Cog Sci and we did a course on the actions of drugs on t'brain, and thereafter I was never tempted. Well once, but that's another story and it was still horrid.

But the good thing is it can be tried and discarded if not liked, and I'm sure I'm in a minority as most people think it's fab!

carrotsarenottheonlyvegetable · 26/04/2010 16:40

I'm good at rolling joints though, if anyone is interested .

They were pwoper carrot shaped.

Mind you, I'm a bit out of practise, and being a BESH/PESH it's not hard to work out just how many years out of practise .

Cosmosis · 26/04/2010 16:40

yay, we is going bivvying! can't wait!

skihorse · 26/04/2010 16:43

Do we have a plan for Newcastle then ladies? I'll bring the goodies, rots rolls and cossie acts all innocent?

Cosmosis · 26/04/2010 16:51

It won?t be an act, I have never done any drugs

CurlyCasper · 26/04/2010 16:58

I'm laughing as rots swings from "I detest killing things" to "load the gun and eat pigeon"

Surveyor been. Another hurdle jumped. Think of me playing removals while you're all living it up in Geordieland

Ski will load scan pics when I get to scanner at work. Reg know what you mean about 3D scary picture - mini cokehead (not that I am divulging anything about my former recreational habits!) looks like a mutant.

I would love to see you all in the toon but maybe there will be a London meet up instead soon.

reginaMonologue · 26/04/2010 17:00

ski I won't be FB'ing my scan pics till after you are back from Newcastle, the aim is to announce it in person at an event for those on FB wot I know... innit.

Mums the word here....

CurlyCasper · 26/04/2010 17:01

You're not bivvying in Newcastle are you cos?

Oh the joys of a good bivvy - brings back memories from when I met SFF ten years ago. Sleeping on hard ground just to be at his side... Wouldn't happen these days!

Yippee for scans! Well done peshies.

Off for the NHS dating scan which feels a bit unnecessary given the fact I am now onto scan numero 4. But moi, turn down a scan? No way...

OkieCokie · 26/04/2010 17:12

That is an average of 1 scan every 3 weeks moo, impressive!

Ponymum · 26/04/2010 17:14

Congrats on all the very exciting scans!! Yay for the wriggly PESHbabies.

Don't talk to me about G&A. Based on my record I'm sure I would be hopeless. Despite being the super all-night party girl all through my 20s my one pathetic attempt at a little tab of, er, something special for a massive all night gay rave resulted in me puking, fainting, going straight home, and suffering a 3 day migraine! I swore never again, so spent many years wondering why everyone else had to 'take something' to enjoy themselves.

I also once completely spaced out on some prescription tablets for a sinus infection. I was in the office and my colleague helped me get my balance back and phone the GP, who said stop taking them and just throw them away. At which point my colleague said 'Ooo, can I have them?'

Alas, I have come to the sad conclusion that I won't be able to make it to Newcastle. Things are getting much worse in the pain department here, and even with rots' kind offer of help to wheel my hospital bed into the martini bar I think it would just be too much to attempt at 8+ months in my state. Boo hoo.

reginaMonologue · 26/04/2010 17:49

They didn't call me Rizzo for nothin' when I worked in Landon don'tcha know... therefore I predict the G&A should be OK for me... that's if I've not killed the relevant brain receptors due to previous chemical abuse....

CUNextTuesday · 26/04/2010 18:41

Ooooh Nick Clegg's 3rd child was born at Kingston hossie Esteemed company!

rollerbaby · 26/04/2010 19:16

Uh oh don't get me onto Nick Clegg.

I have a feeling I'm going to like G&A. Look I even tried to hug a nurse when I was coming round from general anaesthetic once and was quite out of it.

Pokey in your opinion wot is the best garden centre near us?

CUNextTuesday · 26/04/2010 19:48

Chessington, although last time we went, Hom spent the pram money on a ride-on lawnmower.
