Welcome to the thread, before the thread, before the final thread where I give birth.

And in case you're needing it here is the Post-natal thread

Yes I know, but I thought since the MW was "rummaging around" and you hadn't posted today something was happening... good luck anyway!

Shroomer · 17/03/2010 09:56

Was having a lie in. I hope the sweep goes well.

BusyMissIzzy · 17/03/2010 10:41

Wonderful news Caitni, well done! Glad the Whit staff treated you well (sounds like). And I love the name, very strong and traditional. Best wishes to all of you x

PacificDogwood · 17/03/2010 11:03

Congratulations, Caitni, and well done! Thank you to MrC for letting us know .
Lovely names although I am prejudiced: my brother is a Richard.
Hope you are all well and enjoying getting to know each other.

Good luck to all mummies-in-waiting - great expression!

I am about to develop pressure sores from all this sitting on my backside feeding DS4. My mum phoned last night and I did not know what to chat to her about as my life involves only mindnumbing TV and exposed .

Walnut8 · 17/03/2010 12:00

Congratulations Caitni and Caitni's DH. So glad to hear that baby and mum are well.

Pixie I hope your DD can come out of hospital today and that all is well.

Anna have just realised one of my close friends is an Aries and is lovely! Good luck with the sweep today.

Have been a teary mess all morning. All my "zen"-ness about being overdue has disappeared, probably due to early morning phone call from the in-laws asking how it was all going, wondering whether baby is okay, moving well, whether I was getting any contractions, any signs, etc etc. Suddenly started feeling like something's not right with baby, or with me, that I'm not going to go into labour naturally as I haven't had any of these f'ing signs ...

Good news from ILGB.....

She is according to FB "so glad to finally be home and to announce the arrival of their gorgeous new baby girl Alexis, born March 13th and weighing in at a whopping 10lb14!"

Hurrrray

And my friend Susie's had a little girl Isabella this morning too. Hopefully got her VBAC but I've not heard any details.

Come on baby RKD

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Pixie Can you go off and have a bath or anything to try and make it feel a bit better?

Arcadie · 17/03/2010 12:11

Fantastic! More babies. Congratulations.
pixie, am really excited for you. Bet you can't wait to see those beautiful little faces.

Am going in for a check up cause I am in sooooo much pain when I walk. She is going to see if I have dilated anymore. Probably haven't but maybe an examination will kick start it again. It probably hurts so much cause she is a whopper. Seems like quite a few of the babies that have born have been biggies.

anna don't worry about signs. I didn't have any with my other 2.

BusyMissIzzy · 17/03/2010 12:55

Pacific at your

Walnut I had no signs whatsoever until contractions started, so it doesn't mean anything. at your ILs though, surely they must realise that's not helpful.

Ooh Pixie, fingers crossed this is it! Can't believe you've made it this far with twins (must be rare?).. GL and let us know

More babies! Congratulations to ILGB. Sounds like they're doing well.

Scootergrrrl · 17/03/2010 13:11

LouBudd does pain when you walk mean you're dilating? I could barely hobble around yesterday without a really sharp twangy pain very low down - it's disappeared today though to be replaced by something else.

And still have fingers and toes (although not legs - am hoping this baby comes out sooner rather than later ) for you Pixie.

Walnut8 · 17/03/2010 13:19

Go Pixie go!!

thanks for the reassurance Loubud and BusyMissIzzy

pureeandpearls · 17/03/2010 13:40

Go Pixie......hope you get pain-relief soon xxx

MummyElk · 17/03/2010 13:52

go pixie, go pixie....could be arriving on their due date at this rate?? hope things happen soon for you...
MrCaitni what a sweet man, that was a lovely post! And lovely names too. I'm not sure my DH would say anything about us supporting each other, i'm sure he thinks we're all cackling around a cauldron brewing up concoctions.....
Glad there are other babies coming out, though that sucks arcadie to be so royally q jumped like that! HOW rood.
Nice news from ilgb too!

My MW app went fine, baby is engaged still and i'm measuring big (what a surprise . DD was induced they thought she was so big)(she wasn't). anyway found out my lovely MW is off on holiday next week, so have to go for a sweep with a random. . shame cos i love my MW. never mind. we might not get to that might we baby.......She has predicted a 9lbs3oz girl on the 30th march (gulp) just before i get induced....we'll see.

anna and all other pisces fanatics... would just like to say that as a raging Aries there is nothing wrong with a bit of Fire signage thank you very much, and actually, the only Pisces I ever went out with was a completeloserly not for me....cards in the post please for the 26th of this month i thank you.

nice dog walk this morning, now knackered and off to nap whilst dd naps. lovely job.

probably missed tonnes. sorry. looking forward to a bit of recorded OBEM tonight [sad life emoticon]

MummyElk · 17/03/2010 13:58

yep. reading that back... i'm not calling us a coven or anything. there is nothing witchy about us. i think we are quite normal. considering.

oh you know what i meant!

Oh Pixie I'm sure it's the start anyway, hope there's not too much start/stop! You'll finally get to meet Dixie and Trixie soon!

Ok MummyElk if you're aries I guess they're ok-ish... Cackling around the cauldron brewing up contractions I read... well we sort of are it seems!

Congrats ILGB, and nice name!

Walnut - being teary might be a SIGN!

I had my sweep today, it was not painful, just a bit weird. She stuck a finger up there, not the whole hand I think (?) and announced "I am touching the baby's head!". 1cm open but still quite posterior and thick so birth not imminent. Have been feeling very slight cramping but nothing major. And the show is a no show.

Shroomer · 17/03/2010 15:29

Annamama - I am that you have had a sweep. I want things to get started! I hope it works for you. It's good that you had dilated a bit. Your plug must be stuck in there for the time being.

PacificDogwood · 17/03/2010 15:37

Pixie, surely this must be the start of something?? Surely? Is there an entry in the Guiness Book of Records for The Longest Twin Pregnancy?
All fingers and toes crossed for you and your girls - hope whatever happens you are ok .
Oh, I am sooooo excited!

Just back from my first school run with DS4 in his Sleepy Wrap - I think I am a stretchy wrap convert . He seems v cosy in it and it is comfortable for me although quite hot and makes me sweat glow.
We have been invited to show him off to the whole of P1 next week - DS2 is v v proud, bless!

anna, sweep sounds promising... hope you are on your hands and knees scrubbing floors .
Show, shmow - means nada.

And OMG, watched recorded OBEM earlier whilst BFing = total hormonal overload . I was in floods of tears with hiccuping sobs and snotty nose - just as well DH was in the garden and it went unwitnessed....

MummyElk · 17/03/2010 15:43

ooh well done annamama!! glad it wasn't horrendous! At least she could touch the baby's head!! good start!
Just been phoned by mw to book in my one next tuesday. think my weekend will mostly be made up of curry/pineapple/ball bouncing/sex etc etc yada yada

yet another headache here. harrumpf.

no one else in labour? are we only producing these babies at the weekend or is it me?

annamama · 17/03/2010 15:45

Shroomer - because this is not my first, being 1 cm means nothing really, I think I've read somewhere. So don't be too although yes it feels good having had a sweep done, I'm repeating Pacific's words "sweeps can and do work"!

Ok, I'll go and scrub some floors then... Yeah right!

Ach Pixie What a PITA. Come on babies. right baby? Hmmmm?

Only time I get anything approximating "tightenings" is when I'm going up and down stairs or out for a walk. Don't believe that going for a wlak could actually bring on labour but I guess it might speed it up if I were already on the way...
But hooked up to the CTG baby heartbeatometer yesterday I did see the "contractionometer" (Toco thingummywhatsit) getting up to 32 / 33%. Spect it means nowt but I remember seeing it hike up that far in labour with DS when I was contracting. Knowing my luck it means "baby was moving" rather than "Uterus was contracting in a productive fashion and your cervix is round your ears Arcadie"....

Am driving myself NUTS wondering when when if if when when if when if.....
