And in case you're needing it here is the Post-natal thread

Go LouBudd will be spying watching out for you on FB....

Scootergrrrl · 24/03/2010 15:21

Hello all - good luck LouBudd and I hope everyone else is getting some movement too. I've finally put my birth story over on the other thread. It was super-speedy so maybe it'll give you hope!

hecklephone · 24/03/2010 16:15

Just popping my head in to cheer on Loubudd and wish speedy labour vibes to the rest of you. Hang on in there, it'll happen exactly when it's meant to...

PacificDogwood · 24/03/2010 16:42

Go, LouBudd, go!!

pureeandpearls · 24/03/2010 19:53
Caitni · 24/03/2010 21:15

Yay - go Loubudd, go! (you could have your baby by now - exciting!). And also sending labour vibes to Henrietta and everyone else.

Big congrats to Scooter Belgian and Donttry . It's starting to really feel like there's a baby being born every five posts around here

Donttry I was looking out for your news and am delighted that your gorgeous girl (with her gorgeous names ) is with you now. I'll pop over to postnatal to see if you've had time to post (am finding it nigh on impossible to MN with a newborn myself!).

Big waves to everyone else

MummyElk · 24/03/2010 21:56

Quick post to say hi, i'm going to steal the pom-poms used to very successfully cheer on loubudd and since she is well and truly on her way, start cheering on henrietta because her post could have been written by me on Friday morning, that's exactly what happened to me..... so BIG UP HENRY'S UTERUS GET YOURSELF MOVING GIRL!!!!!! it's SO disheartening....fingers crossed she's actually back up and contracting by now though!!!

I'm getting there with the feeding. I know I should write that on the PN thread (and I will) but these past couple of days has been such a surprising struggle that am just so pleased my nipples aren't actually falling off!!

Big up the contracting ladies.....Bigger up the Ladies in Waiting...

pureeandpearls · 25/03/2010 08:22

And well done LouBudd

Henrietta · 25/03/2010 11:21

can i have the pompoms - if I do a jig will it get things moving again? Im not sure I could manage the cartwheel though
then again if you swing water round in a bucket.......!!
Loubud whats happening with you?
wave to all of you and apologies if I queue jump...what a difference a good nights sleep makes I was that tired I didn't even wake up for my usual hourly wee so had at one point 4 hrs uninterrupted - cant remember the last time I had that.

turning babies - mine turned back to back last week, but last night I was lying there and i put my hand on the left side of my bump and baby objected & started moving so I kept it there and it moved round a bit - I could feel the head grinding as it did, although you do worry when they move a lot in case they get tangled in their cord - 2 of mine have been born with cords wrapped round them.

pixie I asked my twinmum friend about first days she said her daughter could always tell them apart, but she said she kept their tags on for longer, did the toenail painting thing and used to wear mostly purple babygros on one and put her on the left, and pink on the other and put her on the right. Other thing she suggested is that you could write their name on their nappys? wanders off imagining a changing station with nappies piled up one side with stickers on and the other side with diff stickers on , then other kids coming and toppling the tower...

PacificDogwood · 25/03/2010 11:27

Good late morning, ladies!

Hope you are all well. Where are all the babies born overnight ??

Arcadie · 25/03/2010 13:13

LouBudd has news Henrietta, but I'll not spoil it for her.

The Arcadie headlines:

Due date for me tomorrow.

Went for a lovely pregnancy and "pressure on the induction reflex points" massage this morning.

Have sinusitis and feel like poo. Banging headache and shooting pains through teeth.

Have been sent home in disgrace from the toddler group that I help run by my SIL who took one look at how poorly I felt and sent me home to MN bed.

OP posts:
Rindercella · 25/03/2010 13:25

Arcadie, I saw your update on FB, you poor thing you must be feeling absolutely rotten.

Henrietta, hang on in there! I'll attempt a cartwheel if you will!
As for thos pompoms, let's start waving them about and shouting, "give us a B...B! Give us an A...A! Give us a B...B! Give us a Y...Y! What do you get...? Give us a BABY. "

No news from Walnut/Shroomer then? Really hope they're cuddling their lovely new babies now

Am now 40+1. Saw mw this morning. The good news is that my iron levels are right back up again. But my bp is up and I do have some protein in my urine, so I will have to get those checked again on Saturday (if I haven't delivered by then). She also said I will need to get booked in for a stretch & sweep for next Wednesday if the baby hasn't made an appearance by then. The good news is that baby is in a good position, still 1/5 engaged and mw does seem to think birth will be sooner rather than later.

I am feeling really well in myself, a bit nauseous sometimes, but otherwise good and all set to go into labour.

Shroomer · 25/03/2010 15:41

rindercella I'm still here lurking, bouncing on ball, etc. Although I do have major news to report: my mucus plug finally came out today, at 41+3. Yippee. Strange the things we get excited about now.

Also, I have a firm date for my induction: Monday. I'll be told the time on Sunday afternoon. Which leads me to wonder (and inevitably to Google) - is there a good time of day/eve to go into hospital to be induced? Time for some googling...

donttrythisathome · 25/03/2010 16:16

Birth story over on postnatal!

Don't really have time to pee not to mind post, but she is so worth it!

annamama · 25/03/2010 20:02

Love the "give us a B..." Rindercella, hope it's working!

Shroomer - your mucus plug came out, that's great, hope you go into labour very soon and don't have to be induced!

Arcadie - hope you recover very soon and just in time to feel fit for fight for labour!

Arcadie · 25/03/2010 22:30

Thanks annamama got prayed for tonight at Alpha and it seems to be feeling better.

DUE DATE TOMORROW.

COME ON BABY

COME ON!!!!!

OP posts:
Walnut8 · 25/03/2010 22:54

C'mon baby Arcadie!! Sinusitis is terrible, I hope you feel better soon, poor thing.

How are you going Henrietta any more news?

Yay for your mucous plug and firm date of induction Shroomer!

Sounds like a very positive mw appointment rinders - apart from BP and protein, I hope that sorts itself out. Glad you are feeling so good

I've had a LOT of bloody show (if that's the right term?) last night and today, lots of painful period type cramps throughout the day but nothing regular and not contractions (as far as I know). Nothing at the moment at all. Am resigned to having induction on Saturday.

Pingpong · 25/03/2010 23:04

too tired to wave pom poms around as I'm struggling with infected CS wound but I'm still cheering you on from the sidelines ladies
perfectly synchronised with rinders
Arcadie sinusitis is nasty - I had it back in November, you have my sympathy, Amoxicillin cleared it for me.

Rindercella · 26/03/2010 06:01

Hey ladies...give us a B...

Am waving my pompoms around, really think it's started in earnest now. DH is getting ready then we're off to the hospital. Birth pool requested

Forgot this actually hurts!!

OOh, leaking waters too now.

BusyMissIzzy · 26/03/2010 09:21

Exciting Rinders, good luck!

Hope things are moving for you Henrietta

Sorry to hear about infected CS wound Smac, hope it gets sorted/clears up soon. Also Arcadie, wishing you a speedy recovery (and speedy baby also )

Waves to everyone else x

PacificDogwood · 26/03/2010 11:24

Oooooh, very best of luck, Rinders - you might already be holding baby by now !

Walnut8, I am delighted to disagree with you: I think your symptoms sound promising... Hope you are scrubbing floors as we speak, or are doing some 'husband bouncing' . Good luck!

Arcadie, you poor thing, sinusitis is nasty. Are steam and menthol inhalations + Paracetamol doing anything for you? If not, get thee to the drs' for some ABs.
Hope you feel better v v soon and that baby appears today

annamama · 26/03/2010 11:59

Good luck Rinders! And anyone else who might be in labour, or at least due. Walnut - any update? Henrietta?

Henrietta · 26/03/2010 13:36

walnut8 cramps is how some people describe contractions feeling methinks maybe something IS happening...waves pompoms. The husband bouncing started things off for me Tues night though didn't come to anything.

arcadie & afribaby happy due date to youuuuuuu. Get something for it arcadie - youll need all your strength for labour or at least you want to go in with a fighting chance.

rindercella waves pompoms skips over puddles

For me nothing happening - staus report is having BHs which are so uncomfortable now Im literally (and my skin as MW said) at bursting point, they're making me feel sick and light headed. MW didnt give me a sweep this morning as I have 3 days to go to due date (think shes afraid of getting hauled over the coals) but HAS arranged for other MW to give me sweep Mon. Will have to make do with the husband bouncing tonight I guess worked a bit last time. Head now right down and HOOOOOORAAAAY has turned again bum sticking out & in good position for birth.

boys kicking off so wave to everyone else

Walnut8 · 26/03/2010 14:24

Woke up to bad cramps again this morning, and more show (sorry TMI!) but cramps have tailed off again and now just have a super tight bump and BH. Just went for a long walk hoping to start something but not much more to report. Have informed DH that I will require him for husband bouncing tonight though

Rinders I hope you have a baby by now, how exciting!

Smac that sounds painful, I hope it clears up soon.

Henrietta hooray for baby turning bum up! And thanks for the encouragement - and you too Pacific!

Must get lunch, then more bouncing/crawling/walking/cleaning etc!

Arcadie · 26/03/2010 14:31

Hi All.
Happy due date to me and Afribaby. Walnut That sounds v promising.

Rinders you said you'd stay with me til the end. (Not really) Have a FANTASTIC birth and enjoy the pool. Watched my friend give birth in the pool at YDH a year or so ago and it looked SO relaxing and wonderful.

Henrietta Your bump on FB makes my mouth drop open every time I see your photo. How are you still coping with BHs that make you feel uncomfy. I'd have phoned a midwife and asked for an epidural by now!

arcadian news

Sinusitis all but COMPLETLEY cleared. God is good. Prayer works. I feel like a new woman. ( actually I feel like a new baby but hey....)

Saw MW this morning. BP good. Wee fine. Baby measuring well. Gone from 2/5 engaged to 3/5 which is a retrograde step but hey...
Asked nicely and was given a sweep.
Good news - soft squishy cervix.
Bad news - baby's head v high (same prob with older 2) and cx uneffaced and posterior (And nullips whatever the bloody hell NULLIPS means) ahh - possibly MULTIPS os - that would make more sense as I've had 2 children already....

Anyway - not a sausage happening here and cervix is doing a good impression of DS's lips when I offer him broccoli on a spoon.

Hurt like a beeee-atch after the sweep though which reminded me how little I enjoy contractions and how nice it really is not to be having any at the moment.

To cheer myself up I booked a haircut for this afternoon (booked it about 3 weeks ago knowing that buffalo all would be happening today) so very soon I get to be pampered.

Massage yesterday. Haircut today. Tomorrow??? (taking DS and DD to watch DH flail about in mud play football)
