And in case you're needing it here is the Post-natal thread

There's a good thing about giving birth to four horses - they'd be walking within about twenty minutes and could just stroll up for a boobful every now and then. CLEARLY there would be disadvantages but i think it's important to see the Glass Half Full Aspect at this point dontcha think??

Well DONE ilgb glad you aren't ripped to pieces too sore and recovering well!! Lovely name too.

pixie's having two babies tonight methinks!! hurrayyyy

swings aries are sort of fiery, quite passionate, argumentative, stubborn, loving, that sort of thing. all or nothing sort of people. i think. i'm not fantastic at this sort of stuff. but that's how i understand it.

We've watched OBEM tonight, had tears landing on my bump, such a lovely programme, the best one yet i think? Now watching the Tourettes programme on bbc1 which is making DH laugh but also putting my non-labouring status into perspective. Poor little lad suddenly developed it at age 7 , just an amazing mum too.

right have to go before i descend into a fit of hormonal melancholy.
I've taken the advice and have a glass of wine. Frankly it's a good decision!

pixie STILL thinking of you, hope this evening isn't a long one for you x

Arcadie · 17/03/2010 21:17

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaayyyyyyy Pixie! You go girl. Take the due date and run with it! I give it to you with my blessing!

Go pixie!!!

LouBudd · 17/03/2010 21:28

Has everyone had a nice small drinky? Has made me feel sleepy which is a good thing as i could do with a decent nights sleep.

pixie don't bath. I was told by midwife that before labour is really established, it slows things down. It happened to me with dc2. Have you got a shower instead that you can direct onto your tummy/back, or a hot water bottle. Not great to feel sick though. Its probably all the pressure from having 2 babies in there. You must be a pro at this labour thing. Haven't you got 3 dc already?

Think pixie deserves a medal for carrying twins for this long.

hecklephone · 17/03/2010 21:30

Hello everyone! Just popping in briefly to say hi. We're doing pretty well here-Robin sleeping lots and breastfeeding going ok so far. Can't wait to post up more details/birth story but our broadband is down-gah! So just access to mn and fb on phone for now. Too slow to catch up with everyone, but i'll be back soon I hope. Have just managed to pick up that pixie might be in labour-good luck pixie!!

Happy hugs to everyone else for now! Xxx

MummyElk · 17/03/2010 21:41

oooh good luck pixie!! xposted, sorry. big love!! will be dashing back on here first thing in the morning then i think!!
arcadie you are most magnanimous, giving away your due date like that. well done you!!

small me post...my ankles are swelling up. i'm sure of it. add that to the trace of protein in my urine at the mw, the higher than normal BP, and the sweltering headache this afternoon and of course i'm now convinced (now that i can't call anyone) that it's pre-eclampsia. it's NOT. but fat ankles are rather irritating.
harrumpf.

COME ON PIXIE!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!
head girls have we got the balloons, streamers and banners ready for Pixie's homecoming? Do i need to get the paints out? Shall we start blowing up balloons???? How many balloons is too many do we think.....

Hey ladies,

So excited to hear it sounds like pixie is starting off

Had a pretty annoying midwife app in the end, just cause it was the ditzy midwife I don't like and she always asks me everything twice and never listens to the answer

Well, the actual app was done by a student with her supervising. Anyway they decided not to monitor baby even though the midwife at my last app said it was 'procedure' . The student did the sweep though and it was surprisingly ok and not that uncomfortable at all . She said i'm 2ch dialated and cervix soft, wrote in my notes I have a bishops score of 4 so i'm gonna look that up to see how 'ready' my cervix is...

Felt a bit achy after it last night but nothing in the way of 'signs' today. I'm not holding oput much hope and am kind of resigned to being induced. Trying to look on hthe positive side (at the moment) and think that at least I can be all organised if i'm induced and we can have all ds's stuff ready to take to pils etc. Plus the hosp is an hour away so I won't have to travel that far whilst in labour.

Congratulations to all the latest arrivals.

SiameseCatWoman, MandaHugNKiss, angfirsttimer, Iwonka, JasHook, Blonde36er, IloveGreenBeans, Hecklephone and Caitni...

Hope you're all having a lovely time cuddling your little bundles

Well, back to more waiting here I guess dum de dum.

Good luck Pixie, so exciting!

BusyMissIzzy · 17/03/2010 22:52

Yay Pixie! So excited for you Bet you can't wait to meet your wee girls. Best of luck, hurry back and let us know how it went!!

Dalrymps staying positive is definitely the best plan. Whatever happens, it won't be long now..

BusyMissIzzy · 17/03/2010 22:55

[tenterhooks emoticon] We're all going to be in here early tomorrow to see if Pixie's updated yet, aren't we?

MummyElk · 18/03/2010 05:02

come downstairs for a spot of ball bouncing and RL tea
so exciting about Pixie, I wonder what she's doing RIGHT NOW!!!! must be cuddling a baby or two, surely...

So this must be why my cervix hurt earlier, had a show in the night, and sort of moistness since, it's not waters breaking (could float a boat on the last lot when they went) but I can't sleep since. think some proactive bouncing and watching shite telly is the only way forward.
dairy sorry your mw was rubbish, i also had a student mw at my app yeterday, they generally seem v sweet don't they? fingers crossed things get going for you today. I can't remember, did they give you an induction date (sorry, brain is a mush)

MummyElk · 18/03/2010 08:05

Happy due day to me-and-pixie (and kay1980), happy due date to us, happy DUEEEEe date tooooooo us-except-only-pixie-will-produce-the-goods-today-cos-she-is-a-good-girl...... Am so excited!

Tmi alert but I have a LOT of gunk. Small niggly pains too. Any chance it's NOT pyschosomatic "due dayness"?!! prob not.

How's everyone else

Scootergrrrl · 18/03/2010 08:15

Now two days overdue....

MummyElk I'm sure your signs all point to a very well-behaved baby getting ready for a 30-minute labour and an immediate start on breastfeeding like a champ and sleeping through the night. If that doesn't count as sending postive vibes, I don't know what does

Dalrymps · 18/03/2010 08:16

Morning ladies,

Popping in for pixie updates although realistically knew there would probably be nothing yet

MummyElk, sounds like you're gearing up for something, keep bouncing!

Yeah i'm booked for induction tomorrow evening

Arcadie · 18/03/2010 08:31

MummyElk Hurrray!!! That all sounds like very positive signs. (But you're waiting for me on the 23rd though, right?) Happy bouncing.

Dalrymps Thinking of you and sending you positive no-need-for-induction vibes.

OP posts:
Dalrymps · 18/03/2010 08:45

Oh I forgot to say before, my dh is an aries and yes he is mostly loving but also passionate, stubborn, firey and all the other things that were listed . In fact his birthday is the same day as you MummyElk!

Arcadie - Thanks for the vibes, how's your leg today?

annamama · 18/03/2010 08:52

Wow, maybe Pixie is holding her babies right now!

MummyElk - that sounds very promising!

I started getting a show last night after sweep and some sex too just for extra prostaglandins... but I was a bit disappointed by its non-slug-like appearance.

Then during the night I had painful contractions every 10-15 mins, to the point that I didn't sleep very much at all (yawn).

But since I got up they have died down a bit!

Typical. Gah.

Dalrymps · 18/03/2010 08:53

Anna - Gah indeed at the contractions tailing off but all positive signs!
