Welcome to the thread, before the thread, before the final thread where I give birth.

And in case you're needing it here is the Post-natal thread

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hmm, no more babies yet but it's looking promising.

MummyElk, are you sure your waters aren't leaking? I made the mistake of thinking mine weren't last week because there wasn't enough to float that proverbial boat on. Was v surprised to get to hospital and be told that they'd gone. Still not quite sure to where; I'm half expecting to find a big puddle in a hidden corner of the house.

swingsofglory · 18/03/2010 10:47

Go, go pixie and mummyelk by the sounds of it and possibly annamamma too!

Don't worry Arcadie - I'll still be here for ages even if everyone else queue jumps... for some reason I don't get to have a single sweep till the 22nd (overworked local hospital i guess) and I'm losing faith in my ability to get this one out without assistance. Sigh.

Had a lovely meal with DH last night but even going out all dressed up didn't get things going. Might try trampolining later.

PacificDogwood · 18/03/2010 11:29

Oh, wow, 3 Possibles !!

Hope Pixie is holding babies by now and learning how to BF both ..

And, go, MummyElk and Anna, go!!

How is everybody else today?

Walnut8 · 18/03/2010 11:44

Annamamma you might get your Pisces baby after all!!

On the other hand, I think my baby might be of the stubborn Aries variety. Swings I think I'll be with you too!! Had a bit of back pain yesterday and a few niggles but went after a couple of hours, probably just resulting from my long walk yest afternoon. Still in a grumpy teary mood too but I think that's just lack of sleep and general discomfort/frustration. Am currently dipping into my hospital snack bag because I have run out of Snickers bars! Oh well. Plenty of time to replace everything I'm guessing!! I have a MW appointment tomorrow but half expecting them not to be able to do a sweep anyway.

Mummyelk the show sounds positive!

Dalrymps I have a long way to get to hospital too, and am trying to think of possible induction like that - at least I can be organised and won't have to travel in labour [control freak emoticon]. Still, 2cm dilated and soft sounds good doesn't it?

Loubudd and donttry hope you both had relaxing evenings with a nice wine. My mum has told me it is best to relax and said I am doing too much. So I am having a self-imposed internet shopping/snickers eating day here today.

thinking of you Pixie!

LaTristesse · 18/03/2010 12:49

Morning ladies. Haven't been on for a while as I've been rather busy jumping the queue!
Baby Nico arrived 6th March - 2 weeks early and is an absolute joy. Wasn't exactly a straightforward arrival, but none of that matters now!
Good luck to everyone still waiting...

MummyElk · 18/03/2010 13:13

afternoon all nothing much happening here, periody pains, lots of, er, gunk and bouncing around Rhymetime this morning with DD didn't seem to move things on a bit either!! but hey ho at least something is happening i suppose. about to tuck into a rather minging strong RL tea. rkd can you speed up somewhat and we'll meet at the weekend instead perhaps?

congrats la tristesse, should you change your name now to something less sad??!!

LOL walnut tucking into the hospital supplies. quite right too! I could MURDER a snickers actually....good thought.

right me and DD are off to bed, think we need a nap. I wonder when we'll hear from pixie......

MummyElk · 18/03/2010 13:15

Wow pixie GREAT NEWS!! And so glad you are home so quickly with such bonny babies!! Look forward to hearing more about the birth too!!
Oooh it's like OBEM but better on here!
Good luck annamama think you're going to be next!! And breathe, 2, 3,...and out....

Rindercella · 18/03/2010 15:22

Pixie, looks like your little twin girls have excellent timing - what marvellous manners to wait until their big sister is fit and well and out of hospital before allowing labour to commence Can't wait to see your update....hope it has all gone well for you.

Caitni and ILGB, so happy to hear of your new arrivals. Congratulations to you both! Once again, gorgeous names

Am now 39+1 and thought the baby was coming on Tuesday night - had seriously strong contractions for quite some time. They went away though, and I now put it down to watching OBEM that evening!!

I saw the MW (plus a lovely trainee - a woman who had been a mw, then done something else for years and is now re-training) today and they think the baby is just about cooked! Baby is 1/5 engaged apparently, so all looks good to go. I am hoping she holds on til Monday when MIL gets here, but have a feeling she may well turn up tomorrow, as I have been predicting for a little while now.

Ah well, time will tell. Feeling totally prepared and very excited.

Good luck everyone else.

annamama · 18/03/2010 15:55

Haha, no but I am still having strong contractions and getting regular between 5-8 mins now. Quite painful too, will take some paracetamol. Have phoned hospital but they reckon wait at least until a steady 5 mins apart.

Pixie superwoman, that is so cool, big congrats on the big girls' safe arrival!

Congrats La Tristesse!
