I have my GTT on Tuesday Debs75 so can let you know how it goes! I'm not looking forward to it either, I still feel very sick when I don't eat and want to make sure it can be done and out of the way not throw up halfway through.

Also, I am a childminder and was supposed to have the day off but got a text 9.30pm Saturday that I would have to take one little girl with me. Wouldn't be so bad but she is a 16 month old hospital phobe who I have only cared for for 1 month. Hoping we can leave the hospital as other threads I've read say that they want resting Glucose consumption so you have to sit and do nothing for 2hrs

I really feel for you MammyG but I think you are being rsponsible to yourself and your students from what you have said. I don't know much about how absences affect future jobs but if the rst of your CV and references are good I'm sure you'll be fine, focus on what feel right now. Hope it goes well whatever you decide.

cinnamongreyhound I had a GTT during my last pregnancy and did have to sit in the hospital for 2 hours. Actually, it was more like 3 hours by the time they got round to seeing me. But there were other women there with toddlers - perhaps there will be kids for yours to play with and that will occupy them for a bit.

Thanks Bessie123, I went today and all went well. I was allowed to go for a walk after I had sat for 15mins to check I wasn't going to be sick or feel lightheaded. They don't recommend going off-site incase you feel unwell or don't get back in time for second test but there were plenty of toys and just walking around the grounds and giving the kids a snack burnt the time. We got back 10 mins before the 2hrs and the lady was free so I went straight in. Just found it tricky to keep drink down in first 30 mins but it wasn't thick at all as I had seen on other threads just very very sweet! One test down, lots to go

Well am def taking leave. Have found this week hard and its only tuesday eve. My mother (who is usually the die on your feet type) gave out to me and said that I look a state and need to get my health in order! And as I was sitting (having a cry) before meeting my boss trying to decide what to do my little bean gave me a huge kick! I havent had much time to enjoy being pregnant or even think of it much and it was like the baby was reminding me what it was all for! My boss was super and really encouraging too so that helped. This is most likely my last pregnancy (famous last words!) so I will just have to be good as gold career wise for the next few years.
So will be finished up friday! Feel a bit giddy now - mind you my two busters reminded me all evening that I will not be at a loose end - they are intent on keeping me busy. Also my eldest announced that we are getting a baby girl called Eliza who will wear pink tracksuits!!
Have GTT on thursday morning - fingers crossed. Will just be popping out from work so hopefully wont be too nauseous! Thanks again everyone. x

Apparently, I am having a   - I am somewhat concerned, as I swear the sonographer told us we were having a son last week. Oh well. As long as it's a healthy   we don't mind.

Hello everyone, been lurking but not posting much lately hope everyone doing ok, it sounds like the scans have been going well.
I too have a very disco dancing baba, can see my belly moving from the outside now, it never ceases to amaze me what a mad thing it is to see and feel the babe moving!

I'm on leave this week and it's sooooo nice I don't want to go back! Though running away from the building chaos is tempting, hopefully by June it will all be done.....

bellabelly Most people seem to be guessing the sex right for me too, and I've had 3 people say "oooh not long now!" I'm not that bloody big!! Then they say it's cause my bump is really low so looks like I'm close to the end?!

Just out of interest, has anyone had their morning sickness return? I've been feeling quite sick pretty much all day for the last 4 or 5 days. I hope it's just a brief recurrence and not for the remainder!

I was actually on here back in February but asked to be removed because I had terrible bleeding and my GP told me I had lost the baby. Well an early scan revealed the baby was absolutely fine, but I felt a bit silly coming back here after everyone had been so nice & sympathetic. (Was afraid you'd think I was trolling for sympathy. )

Anyway I am now 24 weeks, bump is fighting fit & kicking up a storm and it would be lovely to chat to other mums at the same stage as me - so I'm back if you'll have me!

EDD is 1 September and we are having a SURPRISE (hopefully a baby and not a hedgehog like in the dream I had).
