Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ArcticFox · 13/03/2010 08:27

Hi D0G, and welcome to the September thread.

I had my NT scan yesterday. Havent had the blood test results back yet, but based on scan and age risk I am 1 in 1,200 which seemed good given that my age risk by itself is 1 in 300.

We didnt get to find out if it's a boy or a girl but it did give us a bit of a wave.

Thanks everyone for your advice on moses baskets. It's probably too early to be worrying about all this stuff. I wish we had a 5 bed mansion so I could just buy it all but I think unlike most PFB's this one's going to have minimal stuff and the next one will luck in once we move next year

Jaysfourth · 13/03/2010 11:04

Articfox, glad your results were favourable...waiting game now for bloods!!

IMO the more kiddies you have the more you understand how 'little' they need for the first few months, its only when they start taking a notice in surroundings and whats going on that you need to think about things more!!

My 20week scan is on 9 April, so if we dont cave and pay for a private one before then, we will find out the sex then

big SMILE at all of you who were excited about the fast forwarding a month... to be honest, it is quite something to have be propelled forward so much!

Like others, i can feel a bump, but its somewhat hidden under added insulation! Have felt some more movements and have been listening in most days to the heatbeat think i might be obsessed!

Welcome D0G there are a few of us on number 4, which is nice, good to be able to swap experiences! My monsters are 4, 3 (next week) and 2 (today) off to his party on a farm in a bit, thankfully the weather today is somewhat better than yesterday, we even have some sunshine

have a great weekend all xx

HellysBelles · 13/03/2010 15:17

coppertop · 13/03/2010 16:47

Aha! Found you all!

Welcome, DOG. I'm expecting no.4 this time aound too. Mine are 9yrs, 7yrs, and 3yrs old atm. The youngest is due to start school in September so things could end up being a little chaotic that month!

Jaysfourth - Another one here who's envious of the fast-forwarding by a month. Now I'm really feeling miles behind the rest of you.

My scan is due on Tuesday, when I'll be 12+5. Still feeling sick but it usually eases off at around 14wks for me so hopefully not too long to wait.

whammie76 · 13/03/2010 18:12

Hi all, Can I join in too?

I'm 12+5 today, my edd is 20/09/10 and will be #2. Had my scan last week, didn't seem real until then.

Jaysfourth · 13/03/2010 20:09

Well that put me to the start of the list!!!!! will most def be late, so have decided to stay here

Happy Mothers Day to one and all...to those on their first, Happy Mothers Day to be xx

LadyRabbit · 13/03/2010 20:52

Well, this must be the second trimester coz today is the first day in the whole of my pregnancy where I haven't nodded off or nearly nodded off during the day. Result! And we've travelled a lot today. Maybe it's all the Haribos I ate during the car journey.....

Ooh, Mother's Day... funny to think that this time next year I should (hopefully) be a fully fledged mum. In the meantime, have a good one everyone!

SuzanneK · 14/03/2010 08:59

Hi everyone, would like to join! I'm due on 18 September with my first. All very exciting. Just entered week 13 of pregnancy yesterday and it was the first day I was able to stomach chinese takeaway! Good news all round then.

Love2Dance · 14/03/2010 14:48

Hello everyone, new and not so new.

Mother's day has been a bit of a disaster so far (can only get better). Tried to speak to my granny, but she is really ill and was asleep (visiting cousin was woken at 4am to hear her shouting "Queen of all England and Ireland"). Paramedics came (she lives in a very remote area). She has low blood sugar but lots of othetr problems too. Time to move to where she can get 24 hr care I fear.

We were hoping to visit MIL but she turned us down (mental health issues. She's bipolar and takes medication but couldn't face a visit and having to tidy up I think...).

We dropped in on my mum (mental health issues - long term chronic psychosis, does NOT take medication, and has, I think become an alcoholic too). Just as we arrived DH shut car windows on auto. DS (3) got his hand trapped until I yelled at DH to open window. DS then did a wee wee in shock/pain. DH (who had packed car) then said, no, he hadn't brought bag with spare pants and trousers.

We rush to mum's flat door and buzz. She (clearly intoxicated) takes an age to come down instead of buzzing us in (to bring rubbish bag full of bottles down before we went in I suspect). DH goes away to hunt for shop selling cheap pants/trousers while mum proceeds to frighten talk incoherently to DS whilst I frantically search for make do ice pack. It was horrible. We just about managed to give her her mother's day cards. As soon as DH got back I said we were leaving, sent DH and DS on ahead then told mum I love her, am worried, she needs help etc. but I will not expose my child to that again.

We managed to go for a rather subdued lunch after. You have to laugh, but sometimes you want to cry.

BTW, thank you SwordfishTrombones and Weirdbird for maternity allowance reminder. I claimed last time and will again. Nice to hear there are other self-employed people out there.

Hello! I am a newbie!!! Had my scan last week and all is well and I am now 14w2d with my first and due on the 10th Sept! All very exciting, so I thought I'd join up and have a chat with all those in the same boat!

Mammy G, saw your comment on your bump and so relieved as mine is the same! I want my bump too! Belly is quite hard, but not fully out yet and I just look like a bit of a porker!! LOL! xx

Love2Dance · 14/03/2010 19:28

Hello SarahAlice. So nice to see lots of new posts. my we must have all been busy in December !(Pretty sure my conception date was christmas Eve).

Apropos of nothing, is anyone else into maxi dresses? I love them for summer. Maternity options aren't bad but I am very tempted by the Boden one. It has nice wide sections instead of straps. Does that make me into a stereotypical middle aged, middle class "mummy"? Gawd I hope not. I live in NW London and went to the shop the other day. guess what? It was full of yummies and a few very young preppy women with their mummies who should really have been in TopShop...Oh well...

OP posts:
SarahAlice · 14/03/2010 19:54

We must have been busy girls!! he he! I remember sitting in the pub on the 22nd Dec and had a pain in my left hip, which I belive was little bubba making a cosy spot for itself!!! Had a MMC back in July, so done all the swotting up before hand!

I LOVE a maxi dress! Not had a proper old look yet, but Next have got a maternity one for only 25 squids. I've got a lovely, but very old, gypsy skirt from Primark that will be fab and noticed that ASOS are doing some nice bits that are all quite reasonable too. Just got a denim skirt off of there. Ordered a size up, but didn't need it, so you are your size with them. Sure I'll grow into it!!! LOL! xxx

SarahAlice · 14/03/2010 22:32

BTW, has anyone had any flutters yet?

I've been having them since last Monday and everytime I had them I've been sitting in funny positions and put it down to wind or a waist band moving. However, I was just laying flat and had quite a strong little flutter low down. Bought a smile to my face ! xx

comixminx · 15/03/2010 07:48

Hi SarahAlice, I've had some flutters off and on, though they are sporadic and do depend on sitting position etc. Looking forward to more as I get bigger!

SarahAlice · 15/03/2010 08:05

Hi Comixminx, me too! Makes it all seem real some how, even though I've had the scan and seen the bubba! Takes a while to all sink in!!! Is your tum firm? I am stil a bit in 'ate too many pies' territory at the moment!! Looking forward to that looking more 'pregnant' too! However, I sooooooo dont want to wiah any of this away!!!! xxx

Stickhasgrownup · 15/03/2010 10:07

Hi all

I haven't been on that much of late as I've had HG with this preg and just haven't been feeling up to it.
I'm now 15 weeks and hopefully things are begining to ease so that I can now make it out of bed!

I def have a bump now and HUGE boobs - can't imagine they can get much bigger! I'm now out of most of my normal clothes - either because of the waist or the bust!
Got some lovely maternity jeans in GAP at the weekend... thank goodness for the 30% off voucher!

I keep thinking I feel the baby moving... then I fart! So its prob just wind

Welcome to everyone who has joined recently!
I'm very jelous of you Jaysforth! Thats what I was hoping for when I had my dating scan... but no such luck!

Jaysfourth · 15/03/2010 10:45

morning all

my Grandma asked if i had had 'quickening' when i told her (On Friday) bless her, i guess that's what she knows it as!
I have had a few movement feelings, working it out now, the first time would have been about 15 weeks. Apparently my placenta is lying on the back of the uterus and my baby is to the front of my tummy. This can provide an earlier movement feeling. Have been using the doppler every other day...my eldest (4) loves to hear the babies heartbeat, and asks me to do it all the time...told her its just not appropriate whilst we are driving the car!!

Have decided to go for a gender scan, and so will find out this Sunday what we are having, DH hasnt decided if we are going to tell people yet or not...i gave him so power!

Welcome SarahAlice and suzanneK

lovetodance sorry your mothers day didnt quite pan out, i hope you are feeling ok now and it didnt keep you down for long.

Something we did on an old antenatel thread was to put how many weeks we were, when we signed of, its just a way of keeping a quick track of who is where, i will do it , what do others think?

Jaysfourth · 15/03/2010 11:33

Bessie, i was on Feb 08 ended up two weeks late with a March 13th baby.... hence why i am staying here! I dont think you asked before but i have stuck my head in on Aug 10 thread and someone remembered me from then also!

Bessie123 · 15/03/2010 11:34

Yes, I was on the Feb 08 thread. My dd was born on 22nd feb. The postnatal thread is very quiet now but Sarah still posts a lot, she has just had a little boy called Elliot.

Hello, I'm a newbie here too, think I'm about 12 weeks but had a MMC on 14th December so feeling v anxious about how things are going and didn't want to jinx anything by joining in earlier! They won't do scans for "reassurance" before 12 weeks here so I have my scan today at 4.20 will hopefully be back later to yipee and yahoo you all and give a proper EDD!!
